If I could give ADT zero stars, I would!
If I could give ADT zero stars, I would! I've never been more dissatisfied with any customer service business than I have with ADT. When the original sales agent sold me on my system for the house I was selling, he told me how EASY it would be to switch into another customer's name (the buyer) or transfer to my new apartment. I knew I only needed the account until the house sold, so I made sure to get his word on the ease of switching accounts. That was the only way I'd set up an account with them. When the time came to switch accounts, I spent multiple days trying to "cancel" the service. The cancellation was not quick or painless. It took a series of days. The account transfer never went through because the new owner of the house was not satisfied with the service. Then, I attempted to switch to ADT Blue, which is a completely different service with the obligation of ANOTHER 3 year contract. This was a service I did not NEED, but I decided I would set up the service to avoid the 75% fee to fulfill the three year contract. I never received the equipment for ADT Blue and was charged $1100 for not fulfilling the contract. I did not consent to $1100 being taken from my checking account. I only consented to monthly payments through the automated system. I spoke to account management, who said the start up fee could be waived, but kept sending me back to sales agents. These agents knew NOTHING about the original conversation and kept asking me for upfront fees to set up the account. I couldn't get the account started because I had no money. ADT took all my money for the month and I had nothing left to give them. The people I spoke with also told me that it was impossible to speak with a manager because they don’t oversee the phones!!! ADT Blue wanted MORE money to set up the account and send the equipment...even though ADT had already taken ALL of my money from my bank account. I had a total of $-358 in my account. ADT doesn't actually care about any of their customers after they make the sale. They are interested in taking the MOST amount of money from you. No one can ever help you because their managers don't take calls. The company is too big and they end up bouncing you around to different agents all day.

Absolutely tragic service
Absolutely tragic service, alarm at my store went off, the crap employee that you hire called me, but when I answered I was on hold for 35 minutes meanwhile my store could have been completely robbed. Not only did you call me and not have anyone on the phone, NO ONE ever spoke to me. Still have yet to speak to an actual human being. Will be advising every gamestop on the planet drip ADT immediately. Just an all around horrible experience.

I purchased this system through ADT and found out later that it was through SafeStreets. The equipment never functioned properly. Every time I called ADT (which was over 6 times. They would send a technician out. I’ve had technicians blame it on the internet service, didn’t want to work in a drizzle, did not have the equipment to repair, or was a sales technician. This went on since we purchased the system last year. Keep in my days had to be cut short at work on all of these scheduled appointments. I decided to call them and pay out the contract. Instead of them doing a great customer service and wave any kind of fees since there system never worked properly I was told that I had to pay out the full contract (over $1000.00). Which I did! I was also charged a monthly bill this month ($60). Called ADT and was told it was a SageStreet problem. Called SafeStreet and was told it was on ADT. However, the young lady at SafeStreet called ADT on my behalf. When she came back she said that the told her that after you cancel the contract you are still billed 30 days out. I thanked her but now I’m confused. If I had to pay a month in advance when I got the service….Why would I have to pay for services not rendered after the cancellation. I have now with a new company and have not had any problems. The new system works perfectly. By the way the day I canceled I was having the new system installed. The most terrifying part about it was when the took ADT/SafeStreet equipment out and the alarm system did NOT go off. Please DO NOT purchase ADT/SafeStreet!!!! Thanks A Very Upset Consumer

Until the recent "upgrade" to 4G…
Until the recent "upgrade" to 4G communications, the last 6+ years were largely uneventful, though the monthly cost kept creeping up with frequent increases in monitoring cost. Installed the "user upgradeable" cell bridge, and immediately began receiving the first of innumerable calls for non-communication. Spent several hours over a few days troubleshooting with phone support to no avail, so we scheduled a service visit. ADT requires a 5-hour window for appointments, and after waiting that period of time, having no one show up, we were contacted to reschedule. No explanation, no apology for the missed appointment. Rather than re-schedule, we dropped ADT Security in favor of a competitor. Unlike ADT, SimpliSafe actually works - it communicates reliably, has been completely stable -- and we've exchanged a $63 a month bill for a $25 per month monitoring charge. If you're in the market for a home security system, there are many better choices than ADT. Their expensive service isn't backed by responsive support at all. Look elsewhere.

Scammer. POOR SERVICE. ZERO COMMUNICATION
I have been with ADT for a long time (long term customer). Had no problems with ADT before. 1st issue happen last year in regards to our payment. credit card was expired. ADT fail to contact us (not even bother to call us. they had 3 alternative numbers to make this call nor send us a text or email). Got a call from baycorp stating that we are collecting money on behalf of ADT because we owe them money. ADT has our credit card details. just because they didn't bother to make contact with us does not give them the right to put their customer straight to baycorp. I can accept everyone makes mistakes. problem was resolves from take us out of baycorp and not putting us to bad credit. They offered us a special rate due to their mistakes. we continue to with service signing a 24 month contract because we had been with them so long and I think this mistake won't happen again. Unfortunately, May 2021 same issue again. FAIL TO MAKE CONTACT with customer regarding their credit card expiry date. This time they went ahead and mail us letter stating to send us to Baycorp AGAIN. AGAIN NO COMMUNICATION from ADT. NO PHONE CALL, NO TEXT. call their accounts department. got told our credit card was being used to paid for other account! our business account was not overdue but our residential is. questioned why was my credit card used to pay for someone's account and why is my business and residential not linked together? No answered. Request to speak with manager. would not allow me to speak to their manager. Email them to terminate contract due to error with their accounts team. No replied. called them for termination. got transfer to their manager Borri (I think that's how you spell it). he stated that because we still 18 months with ADT. we came to a mutual agreement that he will send us credit worth 2 months and made sure the same mistake would not happen. After two weeks after the phone conversation, no credit note or email. Two weeks later, account got cancelled!!!! called ADT and found out our account is cancelled as per our email request! i thought this has been escalated by the manager who we spoke with. got transfer to their sales team Mariee, went a head and re-activated our account without asking our permission and state it was not their fault. Mariee had problem understanding us or she tried to understand the situation but unfortunately even after reading the notes out to us she still said they are not at fault. This is the THIRD time had made mistakes. each time is getting very extreme. Requested to talk to a manager not response. offer us 3 month credit. I told her no I want to speak with the manager. Finally got response stating the complaint manger will call me back. her name is Marish (I think is the correct spelling). promise to call me back within a hour. no call. call ADT again. got transfer to Lisa the accounts manager. explain everything again and promise to call back again. no call AGAIN. Marish called after 1.5 hour later. explain the situation AGAIN. she promise to resolve this within 24 hour and get back to me the next day before end of business hours. AGAIN LIED to me again. NO CALLS AT ALL. ADT FAIL to address their customer (long term customer), FAIL to make contacts with CUSTOMER with their accounts. make us excuse to call back. no call back. ZERO communication from ADT team. ZERO RESPONSE. I only to end my contract, effective immediately. wasted a week to sort out but still on going. with the experience the customer went through, I only wanted to terminate the contract and wave the fees due to poor service, putting their loyal customer at risk (by cancellation their monitoring and not acknowledging their email.) and accusing us not paying our account and putting them straight to Bay Corp with ZERO contact, not once but TWICE. If you want a monitoring company who response back to you and wouldn't cancel your service without acknowledging you or use your credit card to pay for someone else account, i recommend you go for some other monitoring station. ADT will not response back, zero communication and they will use your credit card to pay for someone's account at the same time put you through baycorp claiming you have not paid them.

ADT is a scam and extremely unhelpful. I was an ADT customer for almost three years (the length of the contract). I was renting so ended up having to move at the end of each lease and each time I moved ADT restarted my contract so almost three years in I still owe on a new contract. I lost my job and tried everything I could for hardship help from ADT but instead of being understanding of hard times the only option I had was to sign yet another contract with ADT blue or pay a couple thousand dollars, so now I have an ADT system that I have no need for in my camper and am stuck for another three years. In the times we are living in ANYONE could hit hard times. PLEASE do your self a favor and use ANYONE but ADT. It’s a racket.

I have security at two other homes not provided by adt and both services are 1000 times better. ADT SUCKS. called their number twice in the last 3 days. Been on hold for 10 minutes. I can’t say enough about how bad their service is.

Do not purchase an ADT alarm service
Do not purchase an ADT alarm service. I have been a customer for ten years, when I called to cancel the service because I am moving, I was jerked around for 47 straight minutes on the phone. I was passed off to four different employees.... one yo-yo after another before being able to obtain a cancelation number. I believe this is done intentionally in order to frustrate the hell out of you so you just hang up and go away.

Beware of What You Are Signing
I had ADT since 1999. Their monitoring service leaves much to be desired. Once when the alarm went off they actually left me a voicemail and did not contact any of the others I had on my call list. Luckily it was a false alarm. I finally had enough and cancelled in December 2020 after rates continued to increase every few months. Even though my 3 year contract was fulfilled, the 30 day cancellation clause was still in effect, and I still had to pay an additional month. Beware of what you are signing.

WORST COMPANY EVER!
WORST COMPANY EVER! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! THE LEFT HAND REFUSES TO TALK &/OR DEAL WITH THE RIGHT! (i.e.; The set up/customer service to the techs/install) THEY ACTUALLY BLAME THE OTHER FOR THIER MESS UPS! Called to get systems installed, we order one thing, recieved another. Appointment set for a certain time, tech showed up 4 hours early! Tech could not install, due to his system telling him 1 thing & what we were told and signed/agreed to, completely different. Took all day to complete, with half the equipment ordered. Called customer service many time, got hung up on several times. Called to ask question about what system was telling us, SAME DAMN THING! HUNG UP ON AGAIN! Demanded a manager, took 28.6 minutes to get one on phone. SHE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING! WE HAD SYSTEM INSTALLED YESTERDAY. BEING TAKEN DOWN TOMORROW! WORST COMPANY EVER!

One way loyalty
We recently decided to sell our house and found cancelling service to be a hassle. Required multiple phone calls to receive inconsistent direction. Then found that because we switched to wireless monitoring in 2019, we were locked into a contract until 2023 and they will not provide any remedy other than to tell us tp pay. We have been customers since 1999, and would have expected a compromise.

Such a ripoff
Such a ripoff! They are running a financial system organization, not dealing with customer or offering good services. I have been a client for more than six years and I can’t get off the contract. They give you a new equipment, they find a way to say that you can save money and then when you move you have to get another contract and start all over again unless you pay a huge penalty for canceling the contract. doesn’t matter if you’re canceling because you were living with a friends or going to a place where you don’t need the service. All they want to do is keep keep you in the loop of contracts so you never stop paying. I am gladly paying off this one year contract they are charging me and I never want to hear their name again. Customer service sucks, they are rude and all want is to get you to talk to the next agent “ they will be able to hive you a better deal”.

I contacted ADT on 4/1/2021 to cancel…
I contacted ADT on 4/1/2021 to cancel my service. I was informed that my 3 year contract ended on 5/30/2021. I was told to call back the end of April to cancel the service as a 30 day notice was required. I called ATD on 4/27/2021 and cancelled the service after declining the multiple requests to put the service on hold and not cancel. I ultimately demanded the service to be cancelled. I was told it was cancelled as of 5/30/2021. Now it is 6/28/2021 and I received a phone call stating the my service was past due. (I owe for June and July) I called ADT and was told wait time would be over 5 minutes. So I got online to use the online feature. After chatting with the agent I was told that I called on 4/27/2021 and spoke to someone about cancelling the service by no cancellation order was put in. So now I have to call customer service as she cannot fix it. So I call customer service and after 11 minutes on hold I reach and agent. I tell him the situation and he says "no problem, I'm going to put you on hold to talk to my associate". After 10 minutes on hold the phone rings and another agent answers. So I go through the entire story again. Ultimately, he gives me a cancellation confirmation and lets me know that his supervisor waived the 30 day notice so it will be off by tomorrow. But guess what, I still get to pay for the 2 months I have been billed for when it was supposed to be cancelled. Not great service at all!!!! This ironic part is that about 12 years ago when I moved the same situation happened except then I had to mail the cancellation and it just so happened that they gave me the old office address to mail to. It took 6 months and 3 supervisors to cancel the service then and I got to pay for 3 of the months. It seems a little bit like maybe we just don't want to cancel services or maybe it's a way to get a little extra money out of people. Either way, I will NEVER use this company again an will discourage everyone from using them.

If I can help even one person to not…
If I can help even one person to not use their service it will be a success. They include a 3 year contract that you can not get out of even if you’re moving. That was never explained to us. We have to pay 750$ to not use their service absolutely ridiculous. PLEASE BE AWARE! Do not use ADT.

Decided to cancel ADT security for cost…
Decided to cancel ADT security for cost reasons, the after sales lady then offered me a new discounted package which I obviously declined as i was pay the high price for +- 20 years that i have been with them, then they all of sudden turned nasty about a contract and rental agreement, they said that they would sent me the contract and i am still waiting not a very nice experience

The worst company in the world they RIP off the customers bad service well is a lot of things I want to write about ADT the super worst company I ever met then you have to sign a contract for 3 years but the service is the worth you sing the camera dont film the batery are old then when you call about the batery they ask you to pay 25.00 dollar well in to years I call to replace the bateryin to years 2 times the toll me the batery Is works for 3 years but I have to. Change the batteries 2 times the worst worst company in the world thank you for your time remember dont call ADT for nothing

This company is so bad even they can’t get a job done right they want me to upgrade my alarm system to 5G network and they send the technician to my house he didn’t have a right keyboard and shut off my alarm system now I don’t have alarm system I call 10 times they gonna charge my $400 for new keyboard and still charge me every month and they give me appointment for next month so now I don’t have any alarm system for month what’s wrong with you guys if you don’t have a that product why you send you tec guys to my house and shut off my alarm system I’m so angry about that situation 😡😡😡😡😡™️

Completely not worth the headache
Completely not worth the headache. Scheduled an update for my system and the tech never showed. Called the service department and they assured me a tech would be out today. 2 hours later ADT called and said they cannot make it and need to reschedule. Glad I took the day off for this.

Absolute worst company to work with
Absolute worst company to work with. Nothing but trouble since we installed the system. Unprofessional, non-responsive and incompetent. One tech comes out says one thing, parts ordered, another tech comes out to make repair and says that wasn't the problem. 10 hours of on site time total, and 6 weeks of cameras not functioning and they still can't get it right and to make it worse, they don't return calls. AVOID ADT/Protection 1 IN ELMSFORD NY at all. costs. Keith tries to be helpful but is limited by his non-responsive service manager Carlos who never returns a call. Cailyn is even worse. At least Carlos occasionally answers his phone. Cailyn doesn't answer and never returns a call. Go with anyone but ADT. 6/25 420pm: generic reply from ADT social media monitors. Useless. Filed complaint with better business bureau and NY attorney general and department of consumer affairs is next. What a disgrace of a company. DO NOT TRUST THEM with your security!!! Corporate customer relations doesn’t revenue have the respect to give a phone number to discuss. They know how bad they are and don’t want to deal with it. Thousands of 1 star ratings on Yelp and google. They know, just don’t care.

ADT accidentally canceled my service…
ADT accidentally canceled my service and accelerated my billing after I was promised that when continuing with ADT at my new house, this would not happen. Woke up to them taking over 1200 dollars out of my account for them canceling my services. Have encountered issue after issue, from them saying it's being processed multiple times, to when I call back a new rep saying it was done incorrectly and has not actually been processed. It's been an month and they still have not returned my money. Now they are saying there is an error and it cannot be placed back into my bank account which they had no problem taking out. This is very frustrating, especially since this is an error on their part and are doing a poor job of resolving it. There is a subsequent bill of over 2000 dollars that is going to be taken out my account next. They just take your money and push you around.

No showed and charged me anyway!!
Not only did I sign up and had my appointment confirmed for a complete system with monthly monitoring, but the technician completely no showed and they still billed me for it! No one ever apologized! This is how bad they treat their new customers. I guess I should be grateful I dodged a bullet!

Our system has been down for over a…
Our system has been down for over a month and they continue to say it’s fixed so we leave and get a call 20 minutes later that our system is going off. They’ve physically been there three times and have said it’s been fixed over the phone at least four times and have said repeatedly it’s all clear. Then we go out and it goes off again. We’re done. The people you speak to on the phone are inept, the techs are inept and the proof is thirty days of alarms going off and my home not being protected.
