Terrible customer Service
So I suppose have got service for my business on April 24,2026 and I waited for about 2 hours to get service and still till this day I don' t have service. I have been on the phone for 1 hour 43 minutes and 12 reps later and guess what still no service and needless to say this company still has my money from the start of the original con tract.. So No I will not be recommending ADT!!!

Formal Complaint Regarding Ongoing Service and Equipment Issues
I have been dealing with ongoing issues with ADT since November 2025. I already had one account with ADT in another state, so I was excited to open a second account. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Since starting service, I have had repeated problems with my lock system and overall functionality of the equipment. I have contacted ADT every month trying to resolve these issues, but nothing has been consistently fixed. Each representative gives me different information, and there has been no clear communication or permanent resolution. I was originally told that my doorbell camera would be able to unlock my door, which turned out to be false. I was also told at one point that my service could be canceled without penalty because of all the unresolved issues, but later I was given different information. I continue to receive conflicting explanations from different employees, which has caused unnecessary stress and confusion. My monthly bill is around $60, yet I cannot properly use the equipment because it does not work correctly while being charged $102.00. I even offered to pay approximately $400 for the equipment just to end the situation and move on, but I still continue to get the runaround instead of a clear resolution. ADT has repeatedly offered account credits, but credits are not solving the problem. I simply want this matter resolved fairly. After months of unsuccessful troubleshooting and inconsistent communication, I no longer have confidence in the service or support being provided. I believe it is unfair for a company of this size to continue handling a customer situation this way for so long without accountability or a proper resolution. I am requesting that ADT allow me to cancel my contract without penalty. I was asked to contact that email below withno help there either.

The worst costumer service I ever dealt with!
its just too bad I can't give this company ZERO starts! I had an appointment today to get new security service at my home from this company and about 1 hour into the appointment window I call to find out the status of my appointment since I haven't received no notification what so ever and let me tell you I was treated by the representative rude, dismissive and she had a very unprofessional attitude. Instead of trying to help resolve my concerns I felt I was being talk down to and rush of the phone. Customer service is extremely Important for security companies especially for a new costumer. I expected professionalism and respect, but unfortunately that was not received and based on that experience I cancelled the whole thing with them and decided to go to another company. And thought for ADT management please train your costumer representative better please listen to my conversation with your representative on 5/26/2026 phone call started at or around 12:44 pm Central time. YOU GUYS ARE THE WORST!!!!

Don't DO it. EVERY alarm company out there is better than ADT. Had for 2 years. they called me at 5am fought with me. hung up on me. really hard to cancel but they were so bad I was will to lose over 900$ just to not deal with them anymore.

Terrible Experience
I switched from Vivint to ADT hoping to upgrade our home security system in Media, PA, but unfortunately my experience with ADT was far worse. My husband initially contacted ADT, provided details about our home, and scheduled a visit to confirm the recommended system would meet our needs. The representative, who also served as the installer, assured us the quoted system would work, so we agreed to move forward at a cost of $1,300. Installation took about four hours, but within three hours of completion, several sensors began reporting low or drained batteries. When we contacted the installer, he could not explain the issue and advised us to call ADT for replacement batteries. That same day, I was given contact information for our assigned ADT account advisor. When I reached out to him, he informed me that the system installed was not suitable for the size of our home, that a repeater would not work in our case, and that we actually needed the IQ system, which would be more expensive. As a temporary fix, he scheduled a technician to replace the batteries. Within a week, ten batteries had already died or were low, and one door sensor consistently showed as open. When the technician arrived, he immediately confirmed that the wrong system had been installed, noting that it was designed for a much smaller home. He also stated that installing a repeater would not work. He recommended the IQ system and mentioned he had installed several on our street in similarly sized homes. After replacing the batteries, the same issues returned within hours. Attempts to resolve the situation became increasingly frustrating. Calls went unanswered, and when I finally reached my advisor via email, I was directed to ADT’s 1 800 number to escalate the issue. After being transferred multiple times and repeating my situation to many people, I eventually spoke with a representative named Keke and made it clear that the system either needed to be replaced with a system compatible for the size of my house or removed entirely. After several more weeks and discussions without resolution, I decided to cancel. Although ADT initially cited a three-day cancellation policy, they eventually agreed to remove the system and issue a refund. However, they refused to replace it with the IQ system, claiming it would cost thousands of dollars more. I later contacted Guardian, which also installs the IQ system. The total cost for the IQ system and installation was less than the amount I had paid ADT! The monthly fees were comparable, and the IQ system offered significantly better functionality. Overall, this experience exposed serious issues with ADT’s sales, installation, and customer service processes. I strongly caution others not to rely solely on brand recognition. I will never use ADT again.

Charging me for services not received
I have not had a functioning security system for over four months. Since early February (it is now May 25), I have been unable to arm or disarm my system, monitor alarms, or reliably secure my home. Despite calling ADT countless times and having multiple technicians visit my house, absolutely nothing has been resolved. Meanwhile, ADT continues charging me every month for a service they are not providing. What makes this even more frustrating is that every technician who has come to my home has said the same thing: the control panel/keypad is defective and needs to be replaced. Yet ADT repeatedly ignores its own technicians, insisting they continue ordering random parts instead of replacing the clearly broken system. After each visit, communication stops completely until I spend more time calling customer service again. To make matters worse, whenever I request to cancel my subscription, ADT promises that my system will be repaired or replaced “that week” and assures me someone will contact me shortly. Those promises never materialize, and the cycle starts all over again. I genuinely do not understand how a large national company can operate with this level of incompetence and dishonesty. Continuing to charge customers for months while failing to provide basic security services is unacceptable. At this point, it feels like ADT is knowingly taking my money for services they are not delivering.

NO STARS!!
NO STARS!!! We have had trouble with ADT from day one. Our sales guy was a scam and tech support is beyond incompetent. They are so bad and just the thought of having to call had me go with some cameras not working for 6 months. I call, wait over an hour for someone, on phone with tech support hours only to hang up in frustration because they have no idea what they are doing. I have to get my som who is a computer programmer to come over and fix the stuff in minutes. They screwed up our billing and monitoring. I cant street hard enough DON'T USE ADT security.

Great Technician, But a Very Disturbing Experience After Installation
The technician who came to my house was AMAZING and did a great job installing my cameras. That’s why I was so confused and uncomfortable when I received inappropriate text messages a few days later asking my age and for pictures. I reported it to ADT, and they told me they would investigate it. Apparently they said it wasn’t someone from their team, but I genuinely don’t know who else would have known ADT had just been at my house setting up my security system. What makes this even more concerning is that whoever it is knows where my cameras are placed, what they show, and how to access turning them on and off. Instead of feeling safer, I now feel less safe in my own home. I want to make it clear again that the actual technician who installed everything was professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable, which is why this situation is so confusing. But regardless, no woman should feel harassed or unsafe after getting protection for her home. I truly hope this gets taken seriously and handled appropriately.

ADT service has gone from good to worse
ADT for over 23 years service is gone from good to bad to worse I will be definitely looking for me a new company of this. Can you schedule service appointment with no one shows up no one tells you why they’re not showing up until they’re two hours late. Then they tell you grew up appointment was overbooked and so they can’t come.

Stay away from ADT!
I rarely write reviews but my experience with ADT was the absolutely the worst! As a realtor and business owner I was floored at the horrible customer service that was provided. Every single call, I was passed from person to person as I tried to cancel our service. They gave such a huge discount … I said fine but I want to be refunded the difference back to my checking acct. and not a credit on our statement. Every single manager I was passed to said okay, it will be up to 10 business days. Each phone call was over an hour and after three weeks of them not sending me a reimbursement that was owed, finally canceled our service(still a battle) and still won’t send my money owed! They are making us pay for another 30 days as a cherry on top of their total incompetence! How this company stays in business is beyond comprehension! I would never do business with them nor recommend them to clients.

ADT has deceptive sales practices
ADT has deceptive sales practices. ADT came out to connect our alarm panel which was built into the home when it was built 2 years ago. The previous owner was using it with ADT so we thought it would be easy. The ADT technician stated the panel was outdated and we'd need a new one. (I should have known right then I was being ripped off since it was working for the previous owner just a few days prior). We agreed to a new desktop panel since the technician says there was no cost and our total bill would be $58/month. We just noticed we are not only being charged $58/month but also $19/month for "Installation Cost" payments for FIVE YEARS! Once contract in my file says "Installation Cost 0.00" and another contract I never saw shows the $1,192 installation cost. I can't cancel without being forced to pay 75% of the remaining 5 year contract. I have submitted an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Now I see that this is very common for ADT to do this. I should have done my research prior to being ripped off. I'm writing this to warn you to stay away from ADT in Baldwin Country. (or everywhere for that matter.)

We are getting new windows and the contractor said, they cannot take off the alarm for liability issues. Called up ADT and they said, we could take it off. We said, NO! What if we do not hook it up right. We then said, we wanted a technician to come because our front door alarm is not working right either and we are paying for something that we can’t use. We had to put up a big fight for them to finally agree to send a technician. They have no problem sending someone to sell you the system, but don’t want to send someone to service it. STAY AWAY! Get a ring camera!!!

Terrible to deal with
Terrible to deal with. 6 year customer decided to cancel. They were willing to drop the price by almost 50% if i stayed. I was out of contract for several years.Took me 4 months to cancel, As they said I never called. Then dailey calls on overdue bill. Said I owed 240..then dropped to 180.. then 135 i paid 108 just to get them off my back. Two weeks later still getting 3 to 5 calls a week.trying to collect more. I would never use them again or recommend. Typical corporate bs. Yeah good luck talking to a person on billing issues.You will be transfered from one bot to the next. Ask for new or to upgrade your service you will be connected to a human immediately

Charged for a broken system and forced to pay after canceling
I am deeply disappointed with ADT's complete lack of support and predatory billing practices. My system stopped working entirely last year following some home construction that affected the sensors. Instead of helping a loyal customer fix the issue, ADT informed me that my only option was to purchase brand-new parts and pay out-of-pocket to have them installed. ​To make matters worse, the system completely lost connection when we updated our home internet, and customer service was unable to resolve the issue without forcing us to buy an entirely new unit. ​Because we haven’t had a working system in months, we finally canceled the service in April. Despite having no active security since last year, ADT is forcing us to pay yet another bill for May due to their "30-day cancellation notice" policy. When I reached out to dispute this final charge for a non-functional service, the company flatly refused to cooperate. ​After posting on this forum, I reached out to the email n in the response and the plan is that will cancel the bill.

I was told that the average person paid around $15 a month for their services with the discount from electric n car insurance they told me that they only give a few dollars a month for that so they lied then the ADT rep said we will give you six months to figure out if you want the system or not n if not they will take it out at that time ,after a month I called to cancel n they told me that they would not send anyone out unless I paid 75 percent of the contract totally lied again they are nothing but another kind of scammer they screw veterans n I’m pissed!!!🤬🤬🤬🖕

I am disputing the $1080 charge on my account. Last month I contacted ADT through online chat to cancel my service because I moved and no longer needed monitoring. The representative told me my account was closed successfully and also informed me that I did not need to return any equipment. Today I discovered I was still billed, and when I called ADT, another representative told me the account had never been closed. I then had to repeat the cancellation request again. I relied on the information provided by your representative last month. Because of this misinformation and failure to process the cancellation correctly, I request that the $1080 charge be reviewed and removed.

I can go on and on about my outrageous experiences which I've express to them myself to file reports.. They literally physically and mentally ASSAULTED me! With my stress levels going through the roof my face feeling number and tingling from these NEVER ENDDING torturing my physical COPD non stop talking the list gose on and on for the worse..UPDATE Still a month later was on the phone again an agonizing 1:33 hour 33 minutes one lady tried to get me help after almost 50 wasted with the previous incompetent clown who couldn't even send me an email so she RAN AWAY transfers me for the next 4 repes they all took off sending me to the next they DONT KNOW HOW TO WORK THEY JUST RUN FROM THE PROBLEM.

I've had ADT for 25 plus years
I've had ADT for 25 plus years in a business I have two buildings next to each other canceled my account they canceled one building and Build me for the other building for 6 months these two buildings were linked together and now they will not refund me for the other building I canceled because a poor customer service

DO NOT BUY!!! This has been a nightmare. The equipment is faulty, there's hidden fees, they will not honor their contract and will weaponize the system against you. Both cameras stopped working and I've been through 11 smoke detectors. The smoke detectors would malfunction in the middle of the night and I'd have to climb a ladder and get them down, remove the batteries, and call in the morning to get a tech out to replace them. 11 TIMES! They eventually said they changed equipment providers and wanted to charge me over $100 for a service call to replace their faulty equipment that was supposed to be replaced for free under the lifetime warranty. Since it was a breach of contract I terminated it. The rep was belligerent and yelling, and repeatedly told me he'd brick my system. A system I already paid for and was told that I now owned the equipment and could take with me should I move. This morning when my husband tried to leave for work he couldn't disarm the panel, it was functional but it wouldn't allow him to disarm, holding us hostage in our own house. He had to leave for work which set the alarm off. I ended up taking the panel off the wall and putting it in a closet because ADT made sure there was no way to turn it off and no way to log into the system. I got this system because I had a stalker, but ADT has been far worse. I was told I "qualified" for some of the equipment to be free and was then charged anyway. Then even after completely paying for the equipment and being told I owned it and it belonged to me, ADT bricked it by making it impossible to turn off the alarm because I didn't wish to continue the monitoring service, since they were in breach of contract. This has been a huge waste of time, money, and my sanity. All this in just a little over two years. After posting this review I'll be looking for any class action lawsuits I can join against ADT.

Don't waste your money or time because…
Don't waste your money or time because they most certainly will! They make you troubleshoot your own issues and that may require you to climb on a ladder whenever yiur cameras are! I asked for help and broke my doorbell camera in the process, listening to rep tell me how to take it off and asset it. Iy should not be this difficult! Now that my camera is broken all the rep could say was "Let me get you to service, hopefully they won't charge you " and transeferd me to a busy line that never answered. When I say this is the worst company and service trust me, I have had them for a few years only because I'm stuck in a contract with them. They know this and continue to take my money, knowing they don't provide quality cameras or service. The cameras dont even record properly and the reset delay, that the cameras have while recording, will allow for things to happen on your property and you won't see a thing! Don't buy ADT service!!!!

This Company is the worst Company. They never fixed Anything. I have to technician at Home and they cannot resolve the problems. This is very bad. Service. Costumer. Costumer Service is terrible. And they have a Machine answering all the calls and they don’t let you go to the Rio Pearson. That’s horrible.

ADT Camera failures and difficulty canceling
On 04/14/26 the SWAT Team, Bearcat, and 20+ cops came on my property and executed a search warrant next door. The police were in my front yard and driveway for at least 20 minutes. My ADT Cameras caught NOTHING. They stopped working on 03/31/26. My Ring cameras caught almost everything on my property. I called ADT on 04/18/26 to cancel and they used high pressure sales tactics and made it difficult to cancel. It took more then a simple phone call to cancel this service. They kept me on the phone and continued to pressure me into staying. The rep refused to take NO for an answer, so I said "just cancel it, ok!" and I disconnected. The Rep never canceled the service even though I made it very clear that I wanted it canceled. I had to call again a week later. The new rep said that because I refused to stay on the phone and listen to the sales pitch, it was never canceled. Further, they refused to recognize the cancel date as 04/18/26 because I did not stay on the phone and listen to their high pressure sales jargon. Another rep called me later and again tried high pressure sales tactics to entice me to stay. I firmly said NO, and then ADT decided to recognize the cancelation. I still got billed for another month. Even tough it was to be a month to month service they still billed for another month after cancelation. Also, during my 4 years of ADT Service, the cameras stopped working multiple times. The cameras only hold so much footage per month and then they stop working. They have to be manually restarted thru the My ADT Control site before they start recording again. My Ring cameras don't do this. I've had Ring for 8 years and they've never stopped working. They're low maintenance for a lower price. My ADT service went from $80/month, to $42. My Ring service went from $11/month to $23. I'll never use ADT again. Cameras didn't work when I really needed them to.

Seriously, choose anyone else for home security!
I've been an unwilling customer of ADT since September 2024 as I was forced into taking over service from the previous homeowner to buy my home in Indiana. However, I've since moved out of state, and a month before departure, I called ADT to cancel service; of which, they didn't honor in a typical cancellation fashion. In the beginning, I was told that I was to still pay in monthly payments (to go towards an eventual cancellation of service) for a contract that I never was offered - let alone never signed; physically or digitally - and I was to be sent a box (that I never opened) that ultimately contained a brand new unit (that I never activated) of which I declined several times to accept on the phone with the representative, who insisted I couldn't cancel without it. After I thought everything was taken care of, I suddenly found myself being charged for two separate monthly payments! Come to find out through another call to customer service, one of the monthly payments was towards that box I was forcibly sent! Ultimately, I decided to ask for and paid the full payoff amount for the active, set-up system and I also asked to receive all the money back - along with a return label - I was being charged fraudulently for the non-active, non-set-up system; however, ADT demanded I pay another payoff amount for it!! I vehemently refused on the grounds of it being non-activated and my refusal to accept the unit in the first place; to which I reminded this representative that their automated system informs the caller that "all calls made are recorded" and that she was more than welcome to go and listen for proof of my refusal. After several minutes of going back-and-forth (with a promise to inform the BBB of their horrendous customer service and the possibility of looking into a filing a lawsuit against the company) the representative finally acquiesced, sent me a return label to FedEx, and I subsequently returned it to FedEx the next day. As of today - May 17th - I've yet again been charged over $165 for a supposed cancellation fee that not only was supposed to be waived for the returned un-opened/un-activated unit, but I flat out never authorized that payment to begin with! This constant stealing of my money after paying the full cancellation fee for the first, active unit and return to FedEx for the second, unwanted/inactivated unit is BS! I've never been treated with such contempt - let alone blatantly defrauded on a continual basis - by any company!! If you're truly wanting a home security service, go with literally anyone else but ADT! You'll regret ever choosing them when you're forced to deal with their customer service!!
