I have been lied to
I have been lied to. Have talked to at least 6 ppl which each one lied to me. System is not worth a dime was sold something i didnt ask for. The facebook post says 6 months with money back i called 7 days after it was put in and was told it would cost me over 2,000 to cancel said i only had 3 days to cancel very sy company to have.

The worst company ever,they supposed to…
The worst company ever,they supposed to charge me only for 3 yrs just find out they are charging my cc for plus 5 yrs, their equipment quality is garbage,always issue and charge me to fix it, the technician laughs on my face when I told him that I’m getting charged $142 a month …don’t use these people anyone else is better than them The phone application is not working every other day, every time I go away I can’t see my business EVERY SINGLE TIME ! 2-3 times a year!

ADT is really unprofessional
ADT is really unprofessional. I got a 3 yr contract. Soon after the contract started, they raised my rate. I tried to cancel but they make you go through crazy hoops to cancel. I finally let my contract run out. Later, I gave them a second chance. A lady I spoke said they will change out my old keypad without charge. A tech showed up and wanted to charge me for it. I said that wasn't the agreement. He said he would call his boss to verify and get back to me. Next thing I know, he left without getting back to me. I called customer care, got transferred once and the next person hung up on me. I am definitely moving on and I do not recommend ADT. I think ADT needs to add customer satisfaction surveys after each call to create accountability for agents.

For 4 days I have been trying to get…LEFT HAND HAS NO CLUE WHAAT THE RIGHT HAND IS DOING
For 4 days I have been trying to get the remote replaced and have been told twice someone would call in 24-48 hrs. to replace and program the remote. Now after calling in as requested to let them know that once again no one has called to set up that service, I am told after demanding a resolution will I still have them on the phone I am transferred again and told the whole system has to be replaced. AFTER 13 YEARS AS A CUSTOMER I'M DONE!!!!

AWFUL SECRVICE/PRICE/RELIABILITY
AWFUL ALL AROUND SERVICE! I was paying for monitoring services , when they came to upgrade my unit, I was told that this unit has never been in contact with the monitoring service. He basically said you have been paying (59.99) for NOTHING. Then I called to cancel and she gave me the whole spiel how they would give me a better rate of 14.99 for 12 months if I lock into a year contract . I said "OK" then she said "Ok so its 14.99 for first 6 months then 29.99 for next 6 months." I said just cancel the whole thing she then continues to inform me that the alarm that I ALREADY PURCHASED Mind you NOW WON'T EVEN SOUND wont chime wont beep wont work completely. I put a frame around the keypad and called it SCAM ART. Company is a joke. I advise everyone to use ANYONE but ADT. I HAVE ALREADY

Discouraged customer
If I could give a negative review I would. This company has been a joke to deal with since after my 1st year with dying batteries not being able to get through the customer service being lied about moving. And transferring my service to my equipment and then a rep reaches out and lies to me even more. When I call customer service to ask questions they tell me I'm not supposed to talk to the sales rep for ADT that I need to call their. Eight hundred number which I can't understand a thing they're saying. If you are considering adt I would strongly encourage you to try anything other than ADT

I have been an ADT customer for many
I have been an ADT customer for many years and they were always very easy to get a hold of. Then one day they were bought by Telus. Now when you call about anything you’re thrown in the “ Telus pile”… on hold for ages, with all the Telus phone customers who have some problems and we all know the volume of problem calls to phone companies… they must fix this or I’m gone when my contract expires. A few times I have had to call to update my credit card information ( the second time because they didn’t complete the task);it was a process and a huge wait to get someone on the phone. This is the exact opposite experience I used to have with ADT

The absolute disaster that is ADT
So many things went wrong with our attempt to receive even the most basic of security, professional service, or repair response from ADT, that I view my posting the most negative review possible as a community service. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS OF ADT ON THIS SITE, and then do yourself a favor and go with a reliable service; something ADT is not. Three examples.... we paid extra to install moisture detectors around our house. Last summer, we came home to find 6" of standing water, with the ADT sensor 5 3/4" deep in standing water. Regardless at no time did we receive an alert, an alarm, a phone call, or any notice at all. I called ADT and their rep blamed their ADT failure on 'user error', though she couldn't say how or why. I then exchanged several emails with the regional rep / manager who was apologetic and promised to send someone out... they didn't. I asked about reimbursement for damaged goods since ADT's system had failed, which he admitted; he said he would send information... he didn't. User error? How pathetic of ADT to try to ditch responsibility. Example two... later last year, we left our home for 4 days. Our neighbors said an ADT alarm rang for 3 of those days. Again, though, we received no alert, no alarm, no call, nothing. ADT said they would send someone to check out the system. Nobody and nothing. Example three... recently I switched to a new security firm, a REAL security firm and not the el cheapo Kmart version that ADT is. The new firm came in, disconnected ADT's system, found that many of the ADT-installed components WEREN'T EVEN HOOKED UP, etc. You would think ADT would notice that someone had taken their system off-line; that there would be an alert, a phone call, etc. right? Nope. Nothing. I even called ADT to see how our system was doing, once all their junk equipment was laying on the floor. Their response is that everything was checking out just fine. Fourth example, and I could go on for several more... while disconnecting the humidity monitor in my collectibles room, the electrician found that the ADT installer had inserted the wires into a closed-end screw hole; in other words, it 'looked' hooked up, but it never was. Four examples should be enough to let you know that if you go with an el cheapo system like ADT, you'll get crap service with zero reliability. Experienced friends had forewarned me ADT stood for All Defective Technology. I should have listened and gone with a real firm. If I'm going to pay to have my home, family, and property protected, I need to go with a real firm, and that is NOT ADT. Do yourself a favor, find a reliable security. Leave el cheapo to those who really don't care.

Horrible
Camera quality is awful. App is not great. Waiting for a camera to pull up on the app can take too long especially if something has happened. The cameras don't record half the time. The sound doesn't pick up well. The kicker is automatic bill pay doesn't work, so after 3 months you get a bill that doesn't make sense. You call several times and argue with several people for MONTHS. Finally call head quarters, they get the billing straightened out, only to go through it again. I called them 2 days ago after realizing that the cameras again have stopped recording and told them to cancel everything after a year and a half of frustration. They aren't getting another dime from me. Stay away from this company.

I wish there is a zero star for ADT services.
I wish there is a zero star. I got Adt back in July 2022. The installation was poorly done and a second Tech had to come back to fix things. Recently one of the smoke detectors' batteries started beeping, and I was told I have to pay for the batteries although I had a service plan that I have been paying $7 extra each month. I went to the store and spent nearly $70 on batteries, still, the beeping continued, I called and the rep tried to walk me through and it took about an hour running up and down the step, and almost fell at some point. Finally, after an hour it stopped beeping. Just last week one of the smoke detectors that I replaced the batteries started beeping again. I called and now they want me to pay $70 to 100 plus to get a Tech to come out to reset the system. I just wish I knew all this was not covered in the service plan and I wouldn't have gone with them. With so many options on the market, this type of service is not acceptable. I have spent nearly 3 hours today with them on the phone and no one can produce the contract they say labor is not included in the contract that I signed. While I am on a long contract so now to cancel will cost me $4000 according to them. Be warned and do not sign up with them. Before writing this review I gave them the option to resolve it or warn others and was told still cannot do anything about it. Please do your research before signing with them.

Can't get a tech to come to my house even though I pay insurance for it. Customer service worst then any company I've ever dealt with. Fixing to rip the entire system off my wall.

I have had the worst experience ever…
I have had the worst experience ever with this company. My elderly 87 year old Uncle (a retired Navy Admiral) with dementia signed a 5 year contract. 3 years into it we have moved him from his home in RI to an assisted living faculty in ME. Trying to break a contract that he never should have entered into has been a nightmare. He has sold his house and obviously does not need a security system in assisted living… they have their own. Doctors letter, certified mail and many frustrating phone calls have led to deaf ears. I have been told that he needs to buy out the remaining years in his contract for over $1000.00. My next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau. I would never , ever recommend this company . Not to mention his system didn’t function most of the time that he had it. Ugghh…. So frustrating. As a provider caring for elderly patients, I would never recommend ADT.

Worse customer service
Worse customer service, I initially had my system serviced by Ackerman Security, which is now serviced by ADT. I called to speak with an agent and I cannot understand what they are saying. I asked the agent to transfer me to another agent and I get rerouted to the call center. Now I’m on hold for 20 additional minutes, when another agent answers his accent is worse than the first. I have to repeatedly ask him “what did you say”, it’s impossible to troubleshoot a problem when you can’t understand what they’re saying. It’s clear my agent was reading an instruction manual as he was trying to diagnose the problem. It took 40 minutes and the problem still was not resolved. TERRIBLE Customer Service!!!

Minus 12, seriously. We had a 12 month contract. A month prior to our contract ending, we called to ensure that there was no automatic renewal, meaning our relationship with ADT would end and we would not be charged again. We made it VERY CLEAR on the phone with their representative which said no, no automatic renewal, there will be no more charges from them. You’ve already guessed it - we were charged again after the end of our contract. They decided to renew it on a monthly basis - despite us double triple checking this would not be the case. After spending over an hour on hold, we finally got someone from cancellations who had the audacity to tell us we didn’t ask for a cancellation before. Why did we call in January then? To wish ADT a happy new year? These are some shady business practices and the representatives lie to you. We are having to escalate this with the BBB as there are recordings of our previous conversations where we were asking about automatic renewals and being very clear that we did not want it, and the representative telling us there would not be any kind of renewal. If you were thinking about choosing ADT, run far far away from them, don’t walk.

ADT has "experience" but I had bad "experiences" alright
ADT is a good company with bad policies, it took 4 visits for the installation to be completed, but nonetheless we said lets just got from there....then every other day the equipment was failing so we paid for some one too come out and he left within minutes without results but then things smoothed out and I fixed the technical issues myself. Months later the cameras stopped working, come to find out you have to buy extra clips to use the equipment and bring the doorbell inside for 2 days to charge on a charger every week...nonetheless I made the purchase for the clips and stayed patient to honor the contract. Weeks later it rains heavy 1camera goes out because water got inside of it and u could see it in the camera, ADT said they can't help because its an act of God 😳 I said exaaaaaaactly I didn't do it either its outside, but I have pay off the broken camera and buy another???? I had 4 cameras so i said forget it ill use the other 3 that are working. Then weeks later alllllllll of them go out and I call to set up service appointment but no one could come out so it was virtual and still no call or anything. I cancelled and that day unbeknownst to me 1400$ was taken out of our account without notification in advance, no email or anything. Days later account management called and offered me discounted service for a year (14.99$ a month, no contract) and new equipment. I declined. Sometimes the name gets so big they 4get about the people needed to "keep" them there or that got them there, without customers u are just 3 letters....but with us customers or consumers you become a business that can do great things. Remember how you started and get back to principal and values...then your commercial will match the experience. 😊

A faithful customer since 2015
A customer since 2015. I was informed each year, customers are entitled to free batteries for wall units. I received one in 2017 and 2018. I have not had a need since 2018 until now. I called today and was on the phone with a representative from overseas for an hr. He continued to say that it was not apart of my contract. I had not signed a new contract since 2015. And I had the exact dates the free batteries were sent and my online portal also reflected the dates. When asked for the name of the supervisor whom he spoke with he said he can't give the name. When I demanded the name he said "Alex" and switched me back into their cue. I have never considered severing my relationship with Adt before. I literally just paid my quarterly bill today. But after today, I will be searching for another alarm company.

Dead End Customer Service and Lies Cameras out after changing internet…
Cameras out after changing internet provider; after getting on ladder and following instructions from tech support to no avail, was told I had a tech support appt. next day within a certain time window. I assumed because I was not told differently that it would be an in-person visit. Instead, it was another tech support virtual visit. So up I go on the ladder again, also to no avail. So, the second tech support rep schedules an in-person visit, but fails to tell me what the in-person tech told me in person before he started work, that I would be charged $150 for the visit. I said no way. To top everything off, when I spoke with the very first rep, I mentioned that my smoke detector had given off too many false alarms, notifying the fire department when there was absolutely no fire or smoke. My fire department fines you after so many false alarms, therefore not trusting the equipment, I took the batteries out the detector. In response, the first ADT rep transferred my call so that I could order a replacement smoke detector. After getting transferred from to rep to rep a couple of times, and having to explain the problem over and over, I was transferred to sales, who said I would have to pay $200 which I did not currently have, to get my defective equipment replaced. I also believe I should not have to pay to replace defective equipment, which was verified by the in-person tech who I mentioned the problem to. He pulled up an insurance contract on my account (which he had open on his device) and showed me where it said defective equipment would be replaced at no charge. He said out and out the sales dept. was lying to me. Consequently, since I refused to pay for the in-person tech to fix my cameras and also to pay to replace my defective equipment, most of my system is not giving me the protection for which I'm stuck another 10 months paying a subscription. Due to having a funeral to attend during this time, and getting the go around, I haven't called customer service again yet, as it is apparently a dead end.

If I could give you zero stars I would. I can’t begin to tell you how awful this company is. Over a year ago we had a promise that they were going to send us some sort of device that was going to deal with the 5G network problem they were having. It took six months to get that device and then when it came it didn’t work. So if our Internet goes down there is no service. That doesn’t really matter to me what matters to me is that they sent the device it didn’t work and there was little or no follow up. Then when there was follow up they didn’t know what they were doing. We were told we were going to have someone Come in the morning to make a replacement and the man who came and said he was making an assessment. That is not what we were told. And we were also told that it is impossible to cancel the contract we have without having some of the above issues. I would use any company but this if one is looking.

NEVER USE ADT. Customer service is terrible, that is if you can even reach them. During installation in Los Angeles County, the salesperson nor the technician ever mentioned you need a permit to operate a permit in this county. Which led to a very expensive false alarm fee $400 + the permit $45 +annual permit renewal $26. When I finally got ahold of them to ask they first said I purchased a third-party seller. I said, I did not. At this point the rep told me to refer to my contract. Sure enough, I was sold ADT by a third-party salesperson EVEN THOUGH I first contacted ADT from their website, the sales rep wore an ADT shirt, and he drove an ADT truck. I explained, that it wasn't possible because of the previous reasons. I called their number, and he presented himself as an ADT agent. After a back and forth he relented and said "Yes, I have heard this from other customers before". They are selling their product from third-party salesmen who pretend to work for ADT. Back to the permit, I asked them how is it possible that in LA County that a permit is required and never once brought up to me by the sales rep or the technician? He had no answer there. I kindly asked that they reimburse the permit fee and pay the annual cost. Again, he referred me back to the contract and in tiny letters, it explains this. My reply was well if it's in the contract shouldn't they have mentioned it to me? Again, nothing. This is a company of swindlers. I never write reviews but it's clear this company makes a conscience and coordinated effort to lie, cheat and steal from customers. Please, do not use this company. If you do, I wish you luck with any of your customer service needs.

I was charged twice for my monthly bill on 3/4. I called was told it would take 3 businesses days. 12 days later I call back and told by David Castiglion that it could take 25 days. I requested to talk to a manager and he stated that the request was denied!

After 3 0r more years of aggravation with the intire ADT System, I had enough of the panel going of inmiddle of night. Needed to reboot so many time I've lost count. Hrs on the phone with customer support. Camera system is a joke . Had tecnhian out several times replaced cameras .Was told that I needed WI-FI booster. Purchased 2 from my internet provider. Price $ 200.00 . Cameras worked sporadically. Tec support couldn't do much by phone, sent out ADT installer Cameras worked for maybe a month if that . It all came to ahead about 2 weeks ago when I had to get out of bed and reboot . Called next morning to cancel. Next I received a bill for $ 2800.00 for canceling contract ,this is after 3yrs . I have a lawyer now handing that. Mayed payments of $ 78.00 a month on time throughout the 3 plus years . ADT customers beware of what you are signing.

I made the mistake of looking into ADT…
I made the mistake of looking into ADT for a business. Not only have they called me incessantly, but attempts to ask them not to call me have been met with hangups from 815/410-1319, sarcasm, snippiness, wrong phone numbers that tried to offer me a $100 voucher (India) that were clearly bogus, and refusal to be connected to the corporate headquarters customer service or leadership at 561-988-3600 where an operator tried to push herself off as "escalations." One half hour wasted just trying to get off a call list. Even a call back resulted in no one being on the other end of the phone. The company isn't interested in the service anymore so I thought I would try not to be bothered. No such luck. They are so stupid that even when I told them that I was trying to do this the nice way and not go online, they still jerked me around. Have it your way ADT. They supposedly record their calls. Pull mine you jerks! We will never use your company and can't wait to tell everyone why not!

One of the worst companies i have had…
One of the worst companies i have had to deal with upon the death of my Father. Despite numerous calls into the office to advise of his passing and providing all the documentation in relation to his death, i have today received communication solicitors that if the account is not settled proceedings for a CCJ will be undertaken. Absolute zero compassion or empathy for the situation along with no apologies and for the gentleman Patrick in Accounts for whom i discussed this with who just told me to forget about and sighed under his breath, i suggest he starts to get the training he clearly requires to handle such issues or in fact like many other companies i have dealt with have specialist areas or people to mange and handle such cases. Awful customer service Update 29/03 - why do things still surprise me. After sending all of my correspondence to ADT and waiting a week, I still had no response. I emailed them again and was advised that the contact details they provided me with on this review, were for the USA and not England!! I have since been advised that I need to correspond on Twitter!!! At this point I am checking out!! If anyone from ADT in England would like to take some ownership and responsibility, you know where I am. For anyone else reading this, please look for any other providers. You never know what's around the corner and I would truly hate for anyone to experience this type of journey.
