The guy that came to do my installation damaged one of the sensors saying that he was going to take the cover of it off because it would fit better and when I called ADT to tell them that the sensor was not working properly and explained to them what the guy did, they said that they were not there so they could say it was because of that that the sensor is not working properly and if I wanted a tech out to my house I had to pay over $100 for the to come out to fix something they damaged on purpose. On top of that if you need parts, they won’t just replace them for you, you have to pay for the part and the tech to come out. We are locked in a 3year contract and can’t wait for it to be over. My alarm system is just sitting on the wall and doesn’t even work cause I won’t pay them to fix something they damaged.

After 14 years, how dare you contact me for $25.
After using this service for 14 years and spending approximately $7,382.00 with this company they charged my $25 because their service wasn't working in my home. I received a call today from ADT stating I owed them $25 since May 1, 2021. Well I had to get my statement while I was on the phone and confirm that I had paid the full amount as I always do on my bill. I had received a single bill the previous week for the $25 that was due, guess what today. He asked if I wanted to pay the $25 with him today. I've paid my full bill for the paid 14 years and I was highly insulted that I would get a call for $25 that was not overdue according to their billing statement. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow? Looking for a new security system. So much for loyal customers.
Bad company
Bad management, misleading salespeople, and small print cash spikes! Dont trust these people with your hard earned money! They tell you the equipment is free, just pay for installation. Yet here we are paying for monitoring fees, installation fees, and equipment fees. You have to keep a close eye on every penny you give them. Because its rarely the same amount each month. Horrible customer service also. Best option is to buy out your contract and give a reputable alarm service a call
Don't even give them a chance!
We tried out ADT with a large installation including smart locks, thermometers, etc. In the beginning the requirements we shared were very specific, with better user permission management etc. They gave us the pulse system (instead of qolsys), and when I asked them why, they insisted that it was because it was the best solution for my requirements. They insisted that this occurred because I wasn't communicative enough, although I believe it was because their sales person did not understand either of the systems they were selling. My first request to them was to have a different sales person so that I could still find a solution and get the different system and they refused. I cancelled months ago but have not received my refund, and now they are still trying to charge my account. I am at a loss at how horrible my experience continues to be with them. I recommend a local security provider that can install third party hardware so that you can get monitoring service from whomever you choose to go with.
Cold call at your door step
Sent a strange man to my house while my daughter and I were home alone to try and sell me a security system. It's 2021. You don't need to harass people at their homes to buy your stuff if you have a good service. I felt completely UNSAFE with a strange man at my door THAT I DID NOT ASK TO BE THERE. Disgusting company.

Absolutely horrible company and customer service........They charge for services they don't actually provide to a dying 77yr old woman. Then continue to charge when the account was confirmed as cancelled by their staff member to which they can verify by their own recorded phone conversations.
Spend your money elsewhere with a better more customer service savey company.

I have been an ADT customer since 2004. When actually needed some customer service all they did was make me feel like an invoice....a monthly source of income to them, nothing more.

Recently got a basic door alarm and window sensors, 4 days in it started to play up. The door camera will not communicate with app until 2-4 minutes after someone rings bell what is point? The sensors keep falling off and now door won’t lock . Spent last 5days trying to contact someone, Telus don’t want to know just say contact dealer, tried dealer no answer straight to mail box and that is full.tried everyday for past week no reply and as I said Telus not prepared to help. Anyone in Saskatoon area be aware there ripping you off for $200

The worst company I have ever dealt with.
Our ADT service stopped working about a month into our contract. We tried to get it fixed through recommended methods and were patient through the process. There has been no consistency and terrible communication between account services and the local team. We had 3 different techs visit with no solutions. One tech told us if we got a landline it would fix the issue. Now we have a landline contract and ADT has told us we don’t need it but they won’t refund us for the additional costs. Another tech showed up, asked why he was there, and immediately left without helping even though he told us he would “be right back”. We went back and forth with numerous customer service reps, managers, and techs with no luck, just a lot of wasted hours. We finally gave up and requested our service be cancelled within the 6 month guarantee. Since then, no one is returning our calls and we have not been able to get the refund we were promised. It’s been weeks since they finally removed the equipment and said they would cancel our service and still no resolution, just holes in our walls and they are STILL CHARGING US! Unreliable, unresponsive, and unprofessional. After this experience I’ll never use this service again and wouldn’t even consider recommending to others. They really need to get their act together. Your Orange County, CA management team is going to cost you a ton of business if you can’t get them to provide better customer service.
Wow what a truly horrible company
Wow what a truly horrible company. I have both cameras and alarm and have has multiple issues with both. It got to the point that a manager said that another area manager will call and take care of the issues. Again I have had issues with the cameras and alarm since I have had the service multiple workers have come and gone and yet I’m still without alarm and having issues with the cameras. Still today I have yet to receive the call from the area manager.
COVID and ADT
I have been a ADT customer for 3 years, unfortunately I had to move at the end of the first years so I either had to pay a ridiculous amount or I had to pay to move the system and sign yet another 3 year contract. This past week the company I work for went out of business due to COVID and I called ADT and explained I can make payments and need to cancel my contract. ADT is heartless and uncaring during these hard times and is making me pay $700 to get out of the contract. ADT has zero compassion for their customers it’s all about profit and the bottom line.
Auto Price Increase
Really don't like the letter received today of an auto account upgrade with a 54% price increase if you do not opt out by emailing them. This the a low level technique to increase monthly subscriptions by inertia.
DON'T USE ADT! SCAM!
The day after we bought our house, this ADT rep shows up at our door. She says she was there per our appt which we didn't make. I said I wasn't interested and she proceeds to tell me that my realtor set this appt up and he should have told me about it. She said he also paid for the installation fees. So, I figured I'd let her make her speech. We did just move from a high crime area so a security system was on our list. We were using Ring cameras previously. The rep then tells us all kinds of lies including claiming that our military bank would reimburse all or part of the monthly cost since ADT is a military based company. My realtor had nothing to do with this. The installation fees were waived because of a current running promotion, and no bank reimburses any part of any security system monthly fees. All things I learned after signing the contract. I asked about cancellation in the event the service wasn't what we wanted. She said that if the equipment isn't working, we'd have to allow for 3 service appts. If they couldn't resolve the issue, we'd be free to break the contract without penalty. She even kind of laughed when she said, "I mean, we can't charge customers for bad products. That's illegal." Deceptive little rat. Anything for a sale.
I called no less than 6 times within the first week of installation. The cameras were always offline. My wifi was excellent. Nothing else connected to wifi went offline. Just these cameras. I set up 3 service appts. The first time, they adjusted and rebooted the cameras. The second time, they added a wifi extender. That thing got burning hot in the outlet. The third time, they moved the extender to a different outlet. It got hot in that outlet, too, and there's nothing wrong with our outlets. None of this worked. I called several times and spent hours on the phone mostly on hold. I was being passed around like a hot potato [or a hot wifi extender.] One rep would say she didn't see any record of service appts. Another would say she saw 1 but the third party that serviced it might have the rest of the records. Yes, they use third party installers and service people and have none of their own. You'll also find that many of the places claiming to be ADT are actually little security system dealers that sell different systems but are allowed to act under the ADT name. It's shady. They will offer unlimited amounts of "free" service appts. That way they don't have to keep record of the appts via receipts. That fact will come into play shortly.
I finally called and asked to be released from the contract. They said no. They wanted to set up more appts. I don't know about y'all, but I don't have 4 days a week to entertain ADT third party service people. I said we had 3 appts and they're not working. The person on the phone says, "Well, actually, after 3 appts ADT decides on how to proceed." I had 2 options. Remove the cameras, which I was informed would save me $5 a month max, or pay $5 a month for cameras that didn't work. They were not letting me out of the contract unless I paid $1200. Most people enter these contracts for the video feature primarily. So what am I going to do with an alarm system that goes offline and some door chimes that don't stay in place because they're held on with double sided tape. In the Texas heat, they lasted a hot second. I had my notifications set to send me a message if my doors were left open for longer than 30 minutes. One day they were open for 2 hours. No message. I got an email the next day saying it had been left open for over 30 minutes. Another time, the alarm set itself and it took my husband about 3 minutes to turn it off. They're supposed to call after 30 seconds. No call. So the equipment doesn't work and the monitoring service is nonexistent, too. Anyway, I was done with the hassle of ADT. I got angry every month I saw the $58 payment come out of my account for flimsy door chimes and a self- arming system that would go offline if you actually tried to arm it. I wanted a good security system. So I got one. I tried to call ADT to take me off of autopay. They don't allow that. They only allow you to update the payment method. The rep was rude af and told me that ADT bought my new security system company so I'd be paying them anyway. I called his lie out and he said he was putting me on paperless billing and hung up. The next month, I went online and was able to find a way to stop paying them. I went thru the BBB. ADT lied and said I had no service appts and CHOSE to downgrade. They don't keep those records for this reason. Too bad I have screenshots of the texts from ADT about the appts, texts to my husband about the appts, and calls from the techs to say they were on their way. I also have Ring video of the alarm going off and no call from ADT. I sent those screenshots in my last reply to ADT thru The BBB.
To ADT Reply: If u could resolve anything, this post wouldn't exist.

Horrible Service
Horrible Service. System has been off for months now. I 'm starting to set everything back up. Was scheduled for someone to come out today between 8-9 am. No show, no call. Called to complain about this and the support person told me the person called my phone at 8:04 and was at my house between 8:02 and left at 8:25. Funny thing is I was outside in my drive way at that time. Asked for someone to show up tomorrow and earliest they have is next week. And the lady, customer service rep, was rude and not very helpful.
I brought these camera and DVR for $1600 and I've seen better quality from other equipment that people have brought. Other systems from Best Buy, WalMart or SAMS have camera that you can hear people and you can record. Door bell camera suck. So for the price of all this crap is not worth my time. And $70 a month bill is crap as well.

Do not do business with this company. They are very unprofessional and rude. Our alarm was not working for months and months and they were still taking money out of our account. We spoke to them about it nothing was done. The supervisor would not get on the phone so we ended up canceling our service. And then they charged us for another month. I tried to call them to get our credit and all they do is transfer you and transfer you. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with in our lives

Never again!! The worst experience I have ever had. Service is horrible customer service is horrible!! I have had someone come out 4 times over the last 4 months because my system is not working properly. I called again out of frustration because it was not working again, the lady I spoke with was rude, canceled my services, then hung up on me. I called back and said I wanted to speak with a supervisor, so they needed to take a message but a supervisor never called me back then I see I was charged $720. No bill.. no notice.. no one trying to keep my service. I called back again today just to be transferred around to no one that can help me. At this point I’m ready to call the better buissness Bureau or get my lawyer involved!

Worst experience I've ever had was working as a technician for ADT. Micro managed, extremely top heavy, supervisors are sociopaths. They allow and hide truths about assaults from supervisors on employees. My direct supervisor shoved me all over his office and still has his job.
Don't EVER apply for a job with ADT in Washington state. Fred Kincade is the so called supervisor there now. Went from installing car alarms to being my direct supervisor. Our senior journeyman had to hold his hand for a year because he didn't have the skills to do the work. Let alone supervise people with over 20 years experience. If you have their service, cancel it. If you work there, quit.
Complete rip-off
Complete rip-off. I had to pay over $200 to upgrade my system, then found out that I'd been suckered into a 3 year contract. I was a previous customer and my understanding was that as such I would simply pick up where we left off, without committing to a long term deal, other than needing the upgrade to the equipment. When I tried to complain some time later and say I don't want the system any more, they said too bad you have a 3 year contract so you have to keep paying, or pay the balance of the full 3 years now and we'll disconnect it for you.
Really awful, but now I have a much better system with cameras and the ability to operate and monitor from my cell phone, and all of that for less than I was paying for ADT.
The only reason I gave this company one star is because there's no choice to give zero.
There are good things and bad things…
There are good things and bad things about this company. I had them for a little over 3 years after something broke my window. I paid them a few hundred dollars to put a security system in my home and the hardware worked great. The downside of this company is the high monthly cost ($58) and the terrible customer service. They constantly tried to increase my monthly rate even though I had a contract with them. All you have to done is say you want to cancel your contract since they're increasing the rate and they will revert the increase (read your contract, it clearly says you can cancel if they try to do this). The other negative thing about them is their call center. I had to call 4 times to cancel my service with them. 3 times in 20 minutes I tried to cancel over my phone and they kept hanging up on me. It's sad because this could be a good company but they are overpriced and their customer service is as bad as a telecom.

I initiated a call to inquire about services through ADT. Call started off fine and the representative said she was going to put a specialist on to talk about costs and to get more information from me about our needs. I spent about 10 minutes on the phone and I indicated right away that I had just started my search for options for security. Everything was okay until I said that I wasn’t ready to commit today. Well that’s not a good thing to say apparently because then they started saying things like how can you let this go today after your experience with having no security in place... I finally had to repeat myself several more times that I needed a discuss the prices with my husband.. then I finally said I need to hang up the phone now and the specialist just started laughing! I am not sure what was so funny? But I think it’s meant to embarrass you and shame you into purchasing their products? Well they lost my potential business by this conversation. They just went too far with the hard sell!
