Here we go again…ADT is the worst! I have been back and forth with them the past 3 months regarding installation, mind you I am still paying a monthly service that I cannot use. I, just like 2 Saturdays ago, am home waiting for the technician to arrive, then I revived a phone call from ADT who canceled again. I have tried canceling the service but am unable to after 3 days :/

Pick another security service. Avoid ADT. Their equipment is actually nice and does work well. The major issue with ADT is the people. There is way too much inconsistency within the departments. People will tell you whatever you want to hear and could care less if anything is actually resolved, management is not much better. I was told a manager would call me and never happ. You have to keep calling and until they realize that you won’t go away. They tell you that two months can be deferred because I loss my job and I still got bills. They except you to pay and don’t care. One person told me that they had no record of the defferment and another told me that they found it but it’s not their department. I literally just got off a 54 min phone call where I was transferred 5 times. And still want able to resolve the issue. ADT IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!

ADT does not care about it’s customers and offers very poor quality service. I have been waiting three days for an engineer and I still don’t know when one will actually come as the customer service team are not sure. I have asked to speak to the manager but they have not called me.

I was ADT customer fir 20+ years, When I wanted to cancel the services in April 2020, I received a discounted rate of $10 per month as appreciation for being long time customer
Starting February 2021 rate jumped to $52 per month without any notification (text/email/letter) and all of a sudden discounted rate was presented as short time promotion
Unfortunately I trusted ADT and didn't pay too much attention for automatic withdrawals until I realized in June 2021 that I was cheated
TYCO-ADT ALARMAS RECLAMACIÓN
Contraté en la tienda Orange una alarma que comercializaban con instalación gratuita y un descuento de 10€/mes en cada alarma. La prestadora del servicio era TYCO que después paso a ser ADT. A los meses me informa Orange que dejan de facturar el servicio y pasa a facturarlo TYCO ADT porque han roto relaciones. A partir de ahi dejan de aplicarme los descuentos. Reclamo y ADT me dice que esos descuentos eran de Orange y que en el contrato firmado con ellos el importe es el total sin descuentos, finalmente y después de mas de un año y medio pagando, aburrido de que no me hagan caso cancelo las alarmas por incumplimiento de la oferta. Me dicen que escriba a un mail para devolver los equipos, Escribo dando los detalles que los esuipos están a sus disposición en las deirecciones de las oficinas y me responden "Debe realizar usted la devolución de los equipos según las condiciones del contrato. En breve recibirá unos emails con las instrucciones para que pueda hacer la devolución de los equipo." Hasta hoy. Nunca más dijeron nada. He llamado a ADT y un señorita me dijo que pasaba nota al dpto correspondiente. Pero nada que no recogen la alarma ni dicen donde entregarla. La sorpresa viene ahora que me llaman sin parar de la empresa CODEACTIVOS reclamando 1200€. 500€ por cada equipo, 60€ por penalización en cada alarma y la última factura que fue devuelta porque cobraron el mes entero y se canceló con un mes de antelación y ellos dicen que las cancelaciones son dos meses antes. Los de Codeactivos ni hablan, mensajes grabados de un ordenador, en ADT me dicen que todo eso viene en el contrato y tengo que pagar. Pero no dicen como devolver los equipos. Y aparte no estoy de acuerdo con pagar la cancelación cuando ellos incumplieron el contrato. Pero es que ADT nunca me llamó para decirme que tenía que pagar eso, ni lo pasaron a cobro, ni enviaron la factura. Directo a Codeactivos. De vergüenza! Espero que solucionen el tema porque es la primera vez en mi vida que me llaman de una empresa de cobros, y por la mala gestión y cero comunicación de ADT ALARMAS

Was a customer of Brinks Security, ADT bought them out. Called customer service recently told them I am having an issue with my system. They told me the equipment was dated and not compatible for WIFI use. They sent a salesman out, several hours later. The system is still not working, I declined their proposal went with a different provider. Called to make sure everything was cancelled properly the rep told me my account was closed and I had a zero balance. I then get a charge on my bank account, called customer service to have the charge reversed.. I was told I had to give them 30 days notice not to be charged. So I have not had a working sytem since early May, I notified them twice but they are claiming I need to pay them though July for a product that didn't work and a service not provided.

Salesman who wants to make a sell, spins his yarns and when the actual engineer gets there to install equipment, he can't because lying salesman hasn't told the whole truth.
Equipment that the engineer could not install was collected several weeks ago and we was advised a refund would be issued.
When we call to chase refund, we get told it will take 10 days as the individuals processing the amount due, need to calculate exact amount and it has to be approved by a manager.
Further calls later, ADT decide my refund will be £105.36 and they will pay this back on 7/6/21.
Did I receive the refund...........nooooo.
Called again and was now told, the refund will only be partly reimbursed as they had decided to allocate some of MY money to my future monthly direct debits and I will now receive between £27.00 - £31.00.
When you ask to speak to a manager, one of their employees called: Jude, told me there was no manager, he didn't have to give me his surname and when I asked for more information. He told me I didn't need to know anymore. (This Jude guy needs some more customer relation training, he hasn't quite grasped it yet).
We have had the alarm less than 1 month and have had to call the engineers out twice, due to very poor live feeds with only 50% connectivity and important direct speaker elements missing, following first engineer visit.
We are representing your company ADT and you may not give a damn about this review but I speak the truth and some of your employees in customer service are unfit for purpose and your sales people should not be selling things that are not achievable. Shame on you.

This is the POOREST EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS THAT WE HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!!! I'VE SEEN SNAKES THAT ARE NOT AS CROOKED AS ADT IS!!!!!!! The sad part is that half their SORRY EXCUSE FOR EQUIPMENT DOES NOT WORK!!!!! NO ONE TOLD OR EXPLAINED TO US THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE SCREWED FOR 3 YEARS!!!!!

I was told the contract was for 1 year. The physical contract I signed was for 1 year. After that I moved out. They told me it was a 3 year contract and emailed me a copy stating a 3 year contract. They said they would look into it. The billing stopped so I thought they fixed it. They never contacted me back. 6 months later I'm woken up by a debt collector saying I owe them over $700. They're supposed to protect us from criminals not be one themselves.
ADT - Shady and Predatory in my Experience
In May 2017 I signed up for ADT service. Sales rep told me it was a 2 year contract promotion.
Service was acceptable, with only a few issues with the hardware being buggy, but overall it was fine. just not worth keeping, so in May of 2019 I called to cancel. I was told there was no such promotion and that my contract was for 3 years, and they would not cancel. So I removed my payment information from them and told them I would not be paying for a service that was unwanted and not originating honestly and in good faith.
2 years later I'm invoiced $590.79 - billing tells me they can only accept the full amount, I was willing to do a Final Close on the account if it were modified to $175 ( the filing fee for small claims court in my county) since that's what I'd be out to file locally. They then tell me They cant because they sold the account to Radius. I call Radius, who said "no, they still own it and can pull it or take payment directly." each just pointed the finger at the other. There is zero accountability and that is not withstanding the dishonest and predatory nature of account origination.
I urge everyone to not deal with high pressure fast talking security monitoring companies that insist on long term contracts. there are many legit companies that are willing to offer their services at a fair rate, and on a month to month basis.
Update: Several more calls have resulted in several different stories fro ADT. If the manager that is supposed to call me back fails to call me back, my next step is to start a claim with fairshake

Rip Off!! Stay away from this horrible cheater company! Canceled one day after signing up. I was told I had 3 days to cancel.I called and sent a registered letter.I never OK’d recurring payments taken from my charge account. I am still be charged! I had to file a case with my bank to try to get my money back. I am writing this hoping others will heed my warning.

Highly do not recommend this business. They don’t tell you anything and then claim that you agreed to things such as a 3 year contract. We never agreed to a 3 year contract. They also contracted the work out to another business and they never installed everything but we still got charged. When we were not satisfied we said we didn’t want the service anymore and they claimed we had a minimum 3 year contract. They also lie about the pricing.

ADT customer service and overall services suck! The customer service representative does not know who to get the question answered. I ordered ADT blue and had it for only 2 to 3 days and returned it, I find that the same equipment for ADT blue is the same equipment you can purchase at Menards without paying the service fees to ADT, especially since they are unknowledeable. Do not waste money and time with ADT
Arlo cameras caught ADT lied about checking my house after alarm went off.
I was in Illinois this morning and got a call from ADT telling me that my backdoor alarm in my Wisconsin house went off. I immediately asked ADT to call the police because there’s nobody in the house. ADT allegedly dispatched security JBM Patrol and Protection but did not see sign of forced entry — BUT MY OUTDOOR CAMERAS SHOWED ADT OR JBM PATROL NEVER CAME TO MY HOUSE YET THEY CLEARED IT AGAINST FORCED ENTRY AND DID NOT CALL THE POLICE! According to ADT, their responsibility allegedly ends in calling the security agency. Ridiculous! And don’t trust JBM Patrol and Protection because they most likely do their security check by merely driving by the front of your house even though the alarm that went off was the backdoor. Or they probably check on wrong addresses. I was the one who called the police and I drove from one state to another only for the police to find no sign of why ADT’s alarm went off by itself.
One thousand $$ wasted
Been a customer of ADT for ten years and liked their service. Decided I wanted two cameras installed as I am away from 3 months and want to monitor activities. Put it in 45 days ago for $1K. Worked fine until today when there was a power failure for a couple of hours. When the power came back and the modem and router rebooted, the cameras would not connect. I can tell other systems (ADT alarm and another wifi based monitoring system) came back fine. Tried all possible on-line reboots (remember, I'm gone) but could not connect. Called ADT and they said there is nothing they can do remotely (like reboot) and needed someone to come out and reboot the cameras. That's just not possible for me as no one is allowed in the house except by 85 year old mother in law who does not get around well. Oh, and she lives 50 miles away. I asked ADT why they couldn't reboot the cameras like then can the alarm. Because, according to them, they don't monitor the cameras and, by design, do not want access. So, I have spent over 1K for a camera system for when I'm away that fails whenever there is a power failure, will not reconnect, and cannot be serviced remotely. All other net-based companies I deal with can do this. I suggest the reader consider someone else.

If I could give this company less than one STAR...I would...! (perhaps I should be able to choose from PRUNES instead of STARS....) It takes 30 days for a cancellation from the day you call...so they can SUCK another month of services fees out of you. Paying the cancellation fee of 75% was unacceptable at best, but to be charged for entire balance of a 3 year contract to cancel the contract because I no longer own my home is beyond the imagination of most and it certainly is for me! NEVER AGAIN...!!!!

Never before have a felt ripped off by a company until now!
Was in a vulnerable situation & asked for prices to be told I would only get prices if a sales person come to my home which I allowed. I agreed to a system paid my deposit but was never told it was a long wait for installation, when I called to book I was offered a date 6 weeks wait which was moved forward by 2 weeks after I expressed dissatisfaction. The day before the visit I was told the engineer had to isolate so changed my date again another 6 week wait was added & reduced after discussing with a team member this was now past the original 6 week date.
Installation came but positing & quality of camera isn’t great I am not happy the overall system but as sarcastically pointed out by a call handler I’m tied into a contract now for 18 months.
I received a letter as per expected along with the invoice telling me to pay the final amount for installation what no one told me was I’d also be expected to pay 3 months of monthly fees upfront yet the letter states may be double. I called to check this but the call handler didn’t understand my question so repeated an answer twice that I already knew when I explained I knew this but why was I paying triple fees I was told it was for the 3 months prior to installation plus the fees for installation itself this was shouted to me like I was an idiot when I asked her not to shout at me & why should I pay fees for when I’ve not had the system even installed the call gander put the phone down on me. I called again & the next call handler was sarcastic clearly they are used to people complaining about ADT otherwise they wouldn’t be immediately on the defensive.
Adding insult to injury I’ve had a letter to tell me that I have to call ADT as my system is not sending signals to them therefore it does not confirm to some standard but yet they send me a letter to tell me to call them rather than call me directly to tell me the issue & do what’s necessary.... customer service clearly isn’t a top priority to this company.
I will be calling & insisting that all errors are rectified & the moment I’ve paid my £37 a month (which is a penny more than I signed for, imagine how much they make per year doing that to every customer every month) once my 18months are paid I shall be cancelling my direct debit & be off elsewhere. I feel so sorry to my family that I was foolish enough to sign up with this company & our hard earned money is wasted.

I have not been able to use adt pulse since the 5 g upgrade .I have had adt people out here and no results . The last text told me I would be contacted Tuesday or Wednesday to make a appointment to resolve the issue that my phone says waiting to connect. I have yet to receive any phone call When he was here he talk to someone and I was told they are getting a connect signal from my phone but my phone just keeps saying trying to connect and they don't know why . Since I can't use my phone to arm disarm and other functions that I am paying for will I get a partial refund on my monthly bill ? When can I expect to get my system to operate with my phone using the pulse app ?

ADT is the worst. My mother who passed away several years ago had long ago discontinued her service with ADT after fulfilling her contract. I had taken over her checking account to fund it to continue some of the house operational bills we have as we inherited her house. Now ADT (saying they just talked to her) bills us for $600 and says the contract keeps renewing when it isn't canceled -- which it was. We have actually had a different security system in for 3 years with a local company. Fraud on every level. Stay away.

ADT practices fraudulent and predatory business. They did not want to let me cancel an account because they falsely claimed that I had agreed to a 3 year contract. If they continue to make this false claim I will be forced to hire an attorney. I have also complained to the Better Business Bureau. Before you do any business with them, you'd best check their rating there. I have never before written a negative review of any other company or business.

ADT is the worst!!! First they didn’t include my indoor camera, called it was suppose to be added to my plan. The guy comes and says did you know you was to pay $225 today? I said no, it’s suppose to be added to my plan. He said oh ok. That night, I get a charge to my card for $225 smh. He did not confirm with me. I did not give him authorization. So I call, they can’t add it to my plan. I told them cancel it and then cancel my whole contact. But nope, of course since it’s past the 3 days (which I think 3 days is a joke) I’d have to pay it in full 😠 they get you and they get you good!!!!! Don’t do it!

Been a client for almost 30 years and had been satisfied until recently. Not sure if it's due to new ownership but keep having issues with the system time and again and still not completely resolved. Complaints have been dealt with in a courteous manner, which is appreciated, however, despite technicians' physical attendance in the premises to check on the the system and assured everything is fine, it is not the case. Problem is still ongoing. At this rate, I'm tempted to use another alarm company if the issue is not resolved by yet another pending technician visit.

I left a review on May 20. Got the automated ADT response to email them. Emailed them. Still haven’t heard back. Calling to cancel my contract today. Will never use or recommend ADT to anyone. May possibly be the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.

Yes, Adt blue is a rip off!!! This has been nothing but a miserable experience and my system is still not working! I’ve spent hours on the phone, I know almost all of their support techs and it was the cable company that finally got it working. It’s been in practice mode for 2 weeks, I can’t reach anyone to actually turn the monitoring on. They sent me one sensor that was a dud, made me go to ups, who wouldn’t take their label as payment and I had to pay for it to be sent back, the working sensor never came and when I finally reached someone learned that it had never been sent. So I have a door that’s still not even covered. Not that that matters, since apparently all I’m going to get is to practice for the next 3 years. If I cancel my service I still have to pay 75% of it anyway so I’m still trying to get it working to no avail! This is a crap company! It is NOT Adt! Do not buy into this!!!
