I stipulated at the beginning I was moving overseas in the future. I was told that if I would move where there was not ADT service that they would null and void the rest of my contract. Now they want me to pay the contract out because of I am moving overseas!!! Rip off and dishonest!!!

Huge difficulty cancelling service
I've had a very difficult experience trying to cancel the ADT service. Firstly, they provide no information at the time of customer's contract renewal. This is a 'negative marketing' practice designed to maximize likelihood of customer forgetting to cancel. After renewal happens, cancellation mid-contract carries very high penalties. Additionally, while no information is needed to activate service, they require a lot of documentation in order to cancel including a hand-signed email followed by a phone call. It takes a few phone calls to figure this out and to execute according to their instructions, which creates a huge headache. If I needed a security company, I would never hire ADT again.

Adt paid other accounts with my bank. They admitted it but would not void the contract as they should of. Then canceled my account and told me I still have to pay as if I was receiving service.

I had ADT before and experienced problems Made the mistake to contract with them again Never an issue with Briscoe that we use in our office locations It was hard to get a person to contract They installed the cam system that stopped working a month later Called customer service and after 30 minutes trying they sent a tech person He arrived with attitude blaming my internet I have blink cams with no issues at home Only ADT has problems Also have two internet carriers RCN and Fios with high speed They arranged to send another tech person today between 12 pm and 5 pm A person that did not provide his name called me at 2 PM stating that they were unable to come He was unable to say at any later time arrival Decided to quit ADT and post this review so nobody else gets trapped with this lame company ADT Response is mechanic To email the team service which is incompetent as the tech team

Disgusting Company. No Service. Money Hungry.
In December 2020, we received a message from ADT. They stated that, I may, “………. Terminate The Agreement on 30 days’ notice ………, ADT will waive your obligation to pay both the ‘Exit Fee’ and ‘Decommissioning Fee’ upon termination of the Agreement, ……….”. A further message (dated 4 days later) stated that the fees will rise on 1 February. On 10 January, I sent a written (as required by ADT) message, to Terminate the Contract as at 28 February. This is in excess of the required 30 days’ notice. I would have expected an acknowledgement but received nothing. Since that time, I have sent numerous messages to ADT. Not one has been replied to. Conversely, ADT have contacted by phone) us several times, demanding payment. On the last occasion, they left a voice mail message, asking us to return their call. This we did. During the conversation, we were twice ‘mysteriously cut-off’. It was left to us to ring back twice more. This was expected because, after all, we (supposedly) owed them money. All of this culminated in ADT allowing us to cancel the contract on payment of ‘arrears’ and Termination Fee’. Thank you very much ADT. Despite all of this, we have note received even a single apology. The lessons to be learned from this story are: - - Don’t trust ADT; - Don’t believe their promises; - If you do deal with ADT, make certain everything is in writing and you understand it; - Don’t expect any customer service from ADT; - Don’t expect ADT to own any of their mistakes or give an apology. Above all, don’t have anything to do with ADT Security. All they’re interested in is payment for their service(?).

Camera's are horrible…
I've had adt over a year now and it started off well but now I've had several problems withered the camera's. They will go offline for no reason and you have to keep unplugging and plugging them back up. I've asked for help on this matter several several times still no answers or help. Today was the last straw. I will find another security company. You would think as expensive as this equipment is you could count on them

I got ADT service a month and a half ago I am a disabled veteran in they use a lot of trickery to have me paying for equipment that I didn’t order and still haven’t gotten the equipment that I did order and they gonna tell me something about a binding contract if I’m not satisfied with the service you should be happy To counsel it for Disabled Veterans I would not recommend this service to anyone and I’m definitely Phinne let the world know about it how are you treat your Disabled Veterans

PLEASE DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY
Was a total scam from day 1. Company who sold me the equipment advertised $1500 equipment with install and for free transfer equipment when I move. They ended up selling me $5000 in equipment by praying on my wife's fear that she needed more protection. Later when we moved ADT corporate did not honor the initial companies word. Wanted to charge me termination fees and said I could not take equipment without full install. Had to go around and around with corporate for hours as they could not even turn off my equipment correctly and issue a final bill. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

Worse place to do anything with
Worse place to do anything with. Customer service is horrible at best. been with them for 5 years now. I have them on auto-pay at the bank, and they raise their price without notice they have the balls to issue a late payment email. They've done this twice to me. There Bill is so 70's. I have Telus with my phone service but they dropped the ball on this scam, I'm in the process of canceling my service after the Loyalty department tried to hook me into a 3-year contract. I've dealt with 4 customer service Reps and all gave me attitude and yelled at me. I'm sorry I will not be yelled at. And now the reply to the reply. I seems rather obvious that no matter what country ADT is in the service is Bad. People Never do business with ADT. You live to regret it

Very unprofessional service
Okay so the service is horrible I been with ADT for about 8 months or so they are never on time with service, had to wait 2 weeks for new batteries replacement for the sensors, finely when I received them it was the wrong batteries then I had to wait another two weeks for a technician come in to Take a Look at the sensors, the technician was rude and unprofessional, afterward sensors would go off in the middle of the night all of the sudden and scary me and my children to death, happened very often. I wasn’t noticed that they put me on a 3-year service when I had enough and decided to cancel the service they charged me 830$ for nothing, but ended up paying $520 with supervisors service… suck a rip off for a very unprofessional service I will not come back as a customer and will not recommend it to anyone I know!

I will NEVER deal with again after…
I will NEVER deal with again after being stuck in a 3 yr contract. They only give you 3 days to cancel. Who knows in such a short period of time if they like a home security system??? My family was busy working and going to school to find out in 3 days. Then, our doorbell camera was wired wrong. We paid extra to have a light in the foyer on 24hrs that's connected to the doorbell. The 1st tech came out and wired it wrong where the doorbell foyer light no longer worked. Our doorbell camera wouldn't hold a charge. So, 7 months later another tech came out and said the doorbell camera was wired wrong. He rewired it and got the foyer hallway light working. Now, I've got a $25 charge for the 2nd tech coming out and getting it right. These ppl are ridiculous. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this junk. ADT only post the good reviews on their website.

If I could give 0 stars in would! I got service with ADT charging me 49 dollar instalation fee that I HAD TO DO MYSELF,then another 49 dollars for first month BUT service was not turned on after a week without service I called and got a tech. Who yawned thru the whole troubleshooting call when i thought I had a faulty hub. Called the next day to be told oh you HAVE to get a PERMIT thru the state or something like that before we can turn it on CHARGE ME A MONTH WITH NO SERVICE without telling me the whole process...i canciled service saying I want my money back,all of it now. They take 2 weeks to send me information to return the equipment. Then tell me I have to wait 30 days to get my money back! WHAT! It took your 1 damn days to take 100 dollars from me! When i called to talk to a supervisor in was not given one to talk to and was hung up on

We competed our 3 year contract and…
We competed our 3 year contract and they keep sending us $90 bills with termination fees. When we call customer service they say next one will be final bill but it NEVER is. Customer service then puts us on hold and we get transferred to another person. It's frustrating and not professional. ADT is the worst home security company. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Shambolic - AVOID like the plague.
Shambolic. My wife's 92 year old grandmother wanted a security system installed due to being recently widowed. We thought ADT would be the go-to company. Blue chip, national with a good reputation. Should have checked here first. After the initial contact, we were literally harassed for weeks, 5 or more phone calls a day at all times of day or night by the contact with the hard sell. Obviously on commission, and as soon as he got the deposit we haven't heard from him since. We then stupidly agreed to go with them. We were told we couldn't get an installation for about 8 weeks. We begrudgingly agreed. Installation date came and the installer arrived early against our express wishes. The lady is 92 years old and wanted a relative to be present before the installation took place, which caused her great anxiety. The installer couldn't get the system to work and left without it working. He also lit a cigarette in the lady's front garden standing right next to our 11 month old baby in her buggy. It hasn't worked since and we are now being told it will be a minimum of 3 more weeks to get a revisit. We will be demanding a refund and they can have their pile of junk back. Save yourself a lot of stress - find a local independent. No idea how ADT are still in business. An absolute shower.

I am leaving them after 30+ years
I am leaving them after 30+ years. My system stopped sending them signals. It took a week to schedule the repair. They sent two wireless technicians and my system is NOT wireless. So it took another week to schedule the repair. In the meantime, I called them about upgrading my system to wireless and they quoted me a price. When I called them back a week later, the price was doubled. They explained that the original quote was rejected by management! I am so disappointed after all these years, and I guestimate I've paid them over $10,000 in monitoring fees. The technician couldn't determine where the disconnect was located and told me I would have to pay $125 for the first hour. He suggested I upgrade my system.

Not even my contract!
ADT was supposed to switch my contact to my mother’s name when I moved close to here two years ago. Come to find out they never did, it’s still in my name even though she signed a three year contract. They can’t seem to find that paperwork now that she’s deceased. They wouldn’t let me out of the contract. Even though the house is sitting empty and in the market. So they offered to reduce the monthly bill for the last year of the contract by 25 percent when I explained this to the billing department some time ago. However, they never did and I can’t seem to find anyone at AFT now willing to help me with this now. There are so many security systems on the market now that notify you directly without monitoring, save your money and get an independent system. They’re extremely expensive for what you get and don’t get locked in a contract. Do it yourself!

STAY AWAY!!
STAY AWAY!!! Do not get stuck in a contract with them. They are HORRIBLE and they hold you hostage. They have screwed up my account, created a duplicate account and double billed me, they didn't hold up their side of the contract and said they can change terms whenever they want. STAY AWAY!! i've wasted so many hours on the phone with them and nothing gets resolved. I am about to take them to small claims court since their contract doesn't allow you to sue them...dealing with them has been HORRIBLE....so many better options. They make money becuase you cant leave, regardless if they fail to uphold their side of the contract. Go with a company that has to work to keep their customers, not hold them hostage.

My wife and I purchased our first home…
My wife and I purchased our first home this year, and one of the first things we did was contact ADT for a security system. The tech came out and, of course, tried to push the $60/mo system on us, but we were firm on only wanting the $28/mo one. The tech accepted, had us sign the contract, then proceeded to replace the touchscreen panel he put up with the basic LCD one and install the sensors that we asked for. A week later we get our first bill and it’s for $54. I call and, after being transferred 3-4 times, I finally speak with someone who tells me that the contract we signed was for $54/mo and I reiterated that the tech and I agreed to $27/mo which means he underhandedly gave us something we didn’t ask for. The rep I spoke to said they’d need to send another tech out to downgrade us. The next day I get a call from the new tech asking what was going on because he was scheduled to come out, but they didn’t put any notes as to why. So, I explained it to him; he said he’d fix it on his end and asked for the first tech’s name so he could reach out and find out why he did what he did. I thought everything was settled. Nope. A couple of weeks later, we get our next bill; still $54. I call again, and had to explain everything again because no one made any notes the first time I called. They acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, but after 30~ minutes I was told the reduced price and credit for overpayment would reflect on our next bill. The next bill came and it was still $54 and no credits. I call again and they still have no notes of my previous calls and I have to explain everything again. This time they tell me another branch of ADT has to handle it and that they’d give me a call within 3-5 business days. It’s now been 2 weeks without a callback and I just got another bill for $54. I really don’t want to cancel my service and get refunded all of my money, but at this point it looks like I’ll have to since no one can seem to fix a simple billing issue.

ADT is horrible
ADT is horrible. I cancelled my service 24 hrs after installation due to a misleading contract and have called multiple times asking about a refund. They are very unprofessional and a scam. It’s been about a month and my refund still has not been processed

Terrible company
Terrible company. I have been paying $40 a month for a system I just found out was outdated and not even communicating with the office. We could have had breakins and we wouldn't have known. Then they wanted to charge me 100s of dollars to replace their old outdated system so that the service I PAY FOR would actually work. When I called to get them to close my account the representative insisted I tell her what happened, then told me I was stupid because I didn't understand how things worked and of course, I started to raise my voice insisting they close my account. She proceeded to hang up on me. I called back, spoke to a manager and nothing... no help. In addition, an electrician recently told me that the wiring they installed for the system was so poorly done that it was a fire hazard. This is a really bad company. Truly. Save yourself the trouble.

DO NOT USE ADT!!! Absolutely terrible customer service,fantastic at getting you set up but do not want to help if you have a problem!!and to come out of your contract early they require £600 😱even though I was told it was a 12 month contract,also just noticed they’ve signed the contract on behalf of my wife without us knowing!!! They also don’t seem to supply step ladders for the staff to install the sensors would rather use your coffee table to stand on,and still waiting to have the system fitted to the wall as it’s just been left on the kitchen unit 11 months ago !!

I am normally not one to do this but this company is the worst. We have recently got a system in our home from adt, they had someone come out and talk about the plan we wanted how many censors, cameras, etc... we agreed on a plan signed the contract and it was the complete opposite of what the guy told us. We are now in a five year contract owing thousands of dollars, and we can’t even negotiate until after a year. It has been all lies from the beginning and trying to contact them about anything is a hassle, our system doesn’t even work correctly everything is terrible hopefully this will help some people not support adt they are the worst.

Terrible company Terrible service
I would not even give them one star if possible. We just got an alarm installed, two outdoor cameras pointing at front of house ,stairs and front right side of property, and a doorbell camera. Well, the catalytic converter was stolen from my car at 7:40 in the morning. It was done very fast. Called police, they asked to see video from camera. The camera was never turned on, never recording. We called ADT and told them the installation was not doe properly. For this I was offered an apology, and $1100.00 refund on our systems cameras for tw0 months. WOW! The installer we had here told me that ADT did not offer good training, so he was making mistakes the entire time. Then the doorbell kept ringing, sounded like an old telephone ring, we disconnected the ringer, and now the doorbell does not work at all. Called our sales representative, Cristian Suarez, asked him to please help us out, he said he would, but he is ignoring us and will not even pick up the phone. It is a very expensive system, and if I had to do it over again, I would choose a different company.

Bad service
On 5/13 had serviceman show up to fix problem on the pulse system he rushed around thought he fixed the problem and left the house I still had a problem and had to schedule another appointment which was on 5/18 between 12 and 5 around 4:15 I got a call saying the serviceman could not make it till after 5 after me waiting all afternoon, I refused due to they could not make it in the time allotted. I think they shunned me on the second visit due to writing a bad review on the first visit I am sorry I ever signed up for their service. People read all the bad reviews about this company before signing up.
