I called multiple ADT sales people they assured me that they will take over my home security from Brinks. Note I had ADT before Brinks. NO equipment charge and lower monitoring fee than Brinks. Once the technician arrived at my house he quoted me >$900 in equipment fee and > $ 45/month for a system that was initially installed in my house by ADT.They also did not honor a promotional coupon that they sent to me and wanted to add sensors to replace the ones in good working condition. I would give ZERO star if allowed.

This is by for the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They took $808.06 out of my checking account and are telling me it may take 15 days to put it back I’m fixing to contact my lawyer because it didn’t take 15 days to withdraw it. When I called to speak with someone they put me on hold for two hours and passed me around to 15 different people.
Majior scam
Majior scam. Asked for cameras with sound. Put cameras in without sound. Left the wrong password. Internet never worked. So
E cameras don’t. Found out I was paying for extra security I never wanted or signed up for. Scott told me I couldn’t cancel because it came with the cameras. I tried to cancel right away then decided to just pay it off. 2 years later there saying I owe more money! This is after the lady gave me my payoff. I will be going to court. This is Deceptive business practices.
ADT is a complete scam
ADT is a complete scam. Please stay away from this nightmare! The first representative that came to my door quoted me at $25 monthly, I have 4 people who were present that can vouch this. The second representative (3rd party installation guy quoted $46) which I was highly disappointed with, but what made matters worse was receiving the bill for $209, and being quoted $65 in actuality monthly and not even knowing because the amount that was never agreed upon. I contacted customer service and was told they were going to reduce the price, only to get transferred and have numerous call drops with different answers and being told I would have to pay $1,800 to cancel something I never agreed to paying. I feel scammed and humiliated. I'm going to do everything in my power to get the knowledge out there on how ADT is treating people. Pure scam...

So I log into myadt.com and discover the true monthly amount is now $70. The amount keeps rising, and nothing is making sense. Please save yourselves! DO NOT CHOOSE ADT. THEY WILL BLAME THE 3RD PARTY WHO INSTALLS AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THE QUOTE, AND EVEN IF YOU ARE IN A 3 YEAR CONTRACT, THAT AMOUNT CAN RISE EACH YEAR OR MONTH AT ANY GIVEN TIME I WAS TOLD.... Not even. You can never get anyone in a timely fashion. And when you do they have underlying attitudes. The equipment was advanced and I don’t have time to find a electrician to set up nothing. I’m getting a gun! The end!! Plus I canceled my subscription in 5 days!

If I could leave less than one star I would! The first thing they do is lure you in with a great price and a few freebies. Then they come in and sell you a dream and quick installation with pretty solid "facts" at how great and number 1 they are. At that point, you decide to get the alarm installed by the great sales pitch they present and the years of "solid reputation" of being the best. They outsourced their work and the guy was 5 hours earlier than the appointment so I didn't let them in and called ADT to see if it actually was them At that point I'm already annoyed by the fact I had to spend time on a phone trying to connect to someone to see if they sent a guy 5 hours earlier than the appointment
The guy proceeds to install the sensors which look like cheap pieces of plastic. I started to question the stability of it because it looked really cheap and like it was going to fall off the doors and windows, which it did within a week. I call back and they proceed to send an "inhouse" serviceman who goes on to explain the work was done poorly and the job was sourced out and from now on if anything happens demand an "in house" serviceman to come Ok great that and $25 .00 service call I was not happy at all!
Fast forward another few months in between that time the sensors don't align right and the first time it needed a system reboot but the second time which prompted me to write this they have to send another serviceman to see why the alarm sensor keeps going off and I cant use the alarm system till they get here which is 4 days from now frustrated and annoyed is an understatement. I would warn anyone looking for an alarm system to consider other options Once my contract is over they can come and take their cheap equipment and I'm moving onto a company that takes pride in its work and uses quality material I can't imagine anyone who has kids left In the house being able to sustain the slamming of doors or windows because they just fall off and in my house, its 2 adults and they just fall off with gentle open and closing

I had an intrusion into my home and ADT failed me miserably. The security system did not work and ADT never informed me that the system was malfunctioning and needed to be fixed. I had items taken from my home as a result of system failing to notify me, as well as, the police being not being notified to come to my home. After informing ADT of the error of their system, they offered me one month's refund. They told me I would have to file an insurance claim, which I have a $1500 deductible, that is more than the lost of property and they would pay toward the deductible. I advised them that I filed a police report but was told that was insufficient. I am now trying to cancel the five policies that I have with ADT, but they are telling me that I am under contract with them. They are basically holding me hostage to pay for this service that I no longer trust to protect my home. I am totally disappointed with ADT after paying for their system for nearly 20 years, never missed a payment or late and this is how I am treated as a valued customer as they call me. Terrible company.

I would give this company no start if I could. This is legit the worst company I have ever dealt with.
ADT IS A SCAM AND I WILL BE LETTING EVERYONE I KNOW THAT WILL LISTEN THAT THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU. I actually reported them this morning after receiving a text message that I owe more money. This was shocking because I canceled ADT last year before I moved out of my home. I spoke with a man named Larry- ID number 285192, not only was he not helpful in any way, but he was also extremely rude and basically told me tough luck. This company had me sign up without explaining that you are locked into a three year contract and if you try to cancel early you are responsible for the remaining amount of the contract up front. How in the world can you do that without notifying a customer first. Well, if this has happened to you, report it to the consumer protection bureau because this is exactly why they exist. This company needs to be reported and I am EXTREMELY frustrated that companies like this still exist and continue to take advantage of consumers.

Terrible. I called after getting emails about a necessary update. I waited until I was vaccinated to let people in my house. I advised customer service that some of my sensors were indicating a low battery. I asked if that could be fixed the same day. She said it would also be taken care of and she was noting it.
They gave me a 5 hour window and said I would get a call maybe 20-30 minutes before their arrival. No call.
The tech updated my panel and said he was all done. I asked about the sensors and he said there was no work order for that. But he told me to call and they would come back out to take care of it.
I called. I was told I would be charged $120 for them to come back out.
To which I argued the misinformation I was given by two of their employees and I asked to speak to a supervisor. One was not available.
About 1 hour later my system beeped and it has not worked since after the phone call today.
Calling in the morning and a supervisor better be available
Refund Owing
I had moved from my previous address in August 2019, I notified ADT regarding cancelling my service and had the service set up at my new address. While doing my taxes in Feb 2021 (over a year later) I had discovered ADT was double billing me from two separate bank accounts because they somehow did not cancel my old account. Because the payments were coming from two separate accounts I didn't catch it.
They admitted to their mistake and agreed they owe me over $1000 . I have been fighting to get my money back since February (4 months now). I document all of my contacts with ADT and have called ADT 18 times so far and all they do is bounce me around to different departments and each time asking me to explain my story everytime I call like they don't have record of my calls. Because they are so incompetent I also requested to have my current account to be closed, well guess what? Each time when I call to see if they had actually closed my account I discovered it's still opened. ADT said a check was mailed in April 3 times now but nope, still no check. They said the first check was sent to my old address, why does that not surprise me. Oh, and each time they "said" a check will be mailed I have to wait 25 days! I really don't understand how a company that is so incredibly incompetent is still in business. I have now contacted an attorney and unfortunately have to pay money to get what is already owing to me. I have also contacted the BBB and there are numerous complaints about ADT on their website as well. Please if you don't to be stressed out don't use this service!!!!

Please do not use This company absolutely disgrace, I had a contract for 18 months then cancelled my subscription which any customer can by law. So my alarm was bells only no fee to pay now after nearly a year the demanding over £100 to say I started a subscription 3 months ago for which I never signed up and now wanting to take me to court, well please do. So do not use these scam artist.
Problematic and faulty system
Problematic and faulty system, couldn't get support, had a dead battery and instead of sending a technician they sent the backup battery and instructions to do it myself (which didn't fix the issue), along with constant false alarms. Bad customer service, worse is the long term contract traps and fine print (such as they will continue to bill you for a month after you cancel). Do not recommend, find a local company instead.
***The reply from ADT made after posting this, pretending now that they care after speaking up publicly, but the two associates on the phone reading the script provided to them like robots surely did not regardless of how super polite I was! Stay away from this company!

Horrible company horrible service, my alarms would go off when ever and for no reason,Tech support was awful to deal with , I had one tech come out he was about as friendly as a Wolverine, I had call in and changed the emergency contact number, because the neighbour was sick and fired of calls at 2 in the morning they never did get that right and continued to call wrong person, so I finally told them to shove this crap up their hoo how and cancel my services, over a years later I get a call from the Credit bureau saying I owe this out standing bill,so I just called them they said it would take 24/48 to get a call back, unreal so I’ll get back on here and finish this story then.
Wishing we never went with ADT
We got a system installed. The outside back camera stopped working. Took hours of calls to connect to someone and two "missed" appointments because a technician never showed. When we got a technician to come out we got an indoor camera that doesn't record. Doesn't connect to cell phones either. Can't reach out for help because the service sucks. Yet we continue to pay the same price for less. Was told our bill would be lowered due to having an indoor camera not an outdoor one. We still pay same price. Can't reach out to anyone because customer service said we didn't pay anything because "it doesn't show on their end" Yet it clearly came our of our account. We didn't receive our $100 gift card either. Its been 6 weeks now.
Update got our indoor camera working. Still paying too much. Never received our gift card. When my husband called. He was called a liar saying we got it. When we didn't. Horrible people. We didn't get out card. And now we are liars.
Horrible Customer Service
I have been a customer of ADT for 8 years and am cancelling all services with them today. I had an appointment scheduled for a technician to come out and do an upgrade between 8:00 - 12:00. The ADT technician was a "no show". They didn't have the courtesy to call. I called several times and was told that the technician would arrive within a few minutes....they never did. I lost time off work and am completely disgusted with ADT. ADT does not care about their customers and I do not trust them with my home security.

Recently they sent out mass mailings saying it is imperative to call and replace radio cell component ( or something like that). I called and made an appointment... waited for an hour and a half this morning before I called and they said my system does not require it. What a waste...if I had their stock...I would dump it... terrible company
The Worst Customer Experience
We have had an ADT security system for 24 years with no problems. In January, we tried to upgrade our system to include video cameras. What a mistake that has turned into! Within hours of installation, the cameras stopped working and despite numerous service calls, could never be fixed. We ultimately had them removed and ADT promised a refund. Not only have we not received that refund, they are still charging us for the cost of the cameras and the upgraded service. What's worse they had to install new panels to handle the camera system. These panels are larger than the old ones so they had to cut into sheet rock to install them. Of course, when we asked to go back to the old system, they said they'd have to take back the new pads and reinstall the old ones. Fine, just pay to fix and repaint the sheetrock or just leave the new pads. Complete silence despite numerous calls to the original sales agent, the installation manager and the home office. These new key pads are just as bad as the cameras. Every other time there is a power outage, these things have to be reset. Right now, in May, 6 months after we started this mess, one of the key pads does not work at all and cannot be reset. They are sending out a technician. When you might ask? Oh, first available in in 8 days. I don't know what happened to this company but it is nothing like the ADT we signed up with. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
They are the worst in customer service
They are the worst in customer service! Took me hours and numerous phone calls to re-locate my service. ADT relocated me with ADT Blue and they are two different companies. Nightmare!! Will never renew a contract with them again! And I haven't even set up my new monitoring!!!!!!!!!
I have had ADT service for 13 years
I have had ADT service for 13 years. I was no longer in need of the service due to moving into a secure building. I called to cancel and was told that they needed 30 days notice (which I'm guessing is in the fine print somewhere). So, I will be paying for the service well after I move. They then tell me that they don't reclaim the equipment, modem, door sensors, etc, I should leave them for the next tenant. I have to have everything removed per my tenant lease. I asked to speak with a supervisor and the agent argued with me, put me on hold, and never came back on the phone. Now I am responsible for paying the fee to recycle the modem (not to mention the waste of a modem) and having to remove all of the door sensors. I'm a single, senior female with no way of removing them. I will NEVER use this company again and go out of my way to tell everyone I know to find another way of securing their residence.

I had ADT in my apartment home for over two years.
When the pandemic hit, I lost my job, shortly after I had to move out of my apartment because finding a job proved to be impossible. I could not pay rent. Before I moved out I called ADT & explained the situation. They had no heart. I was going to have to pay the balance of my contract even though I was no longer in my apartment home. They turned me over to collections for a little over $200.00
Poor quality system with no customer support
I've been with ADT now for a month. In that time the security camera does not work and system. keeps on failing but as much as I try to arrange an engineer site visit they never pitch up or cancel. One month in and this has to be one of the most costly mistakes I've made. Appalling customer service. Just rude and very expensive.

I've had ADT for 1 in a half year. It cost me a little over 2,300 for equipment and installation. I paid $57.77 a month for the service. I will be moving to Florida next month and found out that I cannot have sensors on my windows or doors. So, the system that I bought is of no use to me after spending so much money. I call ADT and ask them if can I please cancel my services, they are charging me $413 disconnection fee. If I want to avoid paying a disconnection fee they suggested that I buy into the ADT blue equipment for $26 a month which is just a door sensor. I would have to go into another 36 month contract That will cost me over $900. I am so disgusted with ADT! Nobody even tried to help me, all they try to do is get more money from me! I don't recommend ADT, they're horrible! as far as I'm concerned! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

They just wasted our entire day. Bait & switch. We were given a price and told they would be there today between 10-12. Waited around all morning. Then we leave to go do somethings and they call & going to be there in 15. So we drop everything & go back home. When they get there the contract is completely different that what we agreed to on the phone. Two hours later even though we were told it was straighten out the new contract was the same. Wasted an entire day when we just moved and had so much else to do. Poor company. Reply to ADT, no I am not going to email you and waste more time. You couldn't straighten out the problem yesterday.
