Worst Customer Experience Ever
Absolutely one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with any company. The customer service from a standpoint of the agents themselves is the only good thing about this company. Their policies are ridiculous. Everything is about them getting their money and nothing is about the quality service rendered to the customer. I would go to every possible customer and implore them to choose ANY alternative. Everything they do is designed to keep you entrenched in paying them money, regardless of the quality of service or the concerns you may have. Do not touch this company with a ten foot pole.

Worst possible customer experience, transferred 9 time and 3 1/2 hours later with no solution. This company is horrible. Oh, and hung up on 3 times!!!
I will NEVER use ADT again
I will NEVER use ADT again. I wish there was an option before the one star, you all really don't deserve a start at all. We have been a customer with them for a very long time and I am so happy to be done. It amazes me how this company has turned into master manipulating con-artist.
First, we had a contract and the bill was supposed to be paid every three months. Then they said we were late on the bill. How are we late on something that is deducted automatically. Then we changed to have pay monthly. Again, they did not have this in the system and ADT took extra payments from us. This happened twice. Trying to get the money back was a nightmare, but eventually they refunded. Of course they were trying to get us to upgrade our system before they wanted to give the money back.
This last time dealing with ADT there were extra fees that we were not aware of. Every person that my husband spoke to never knew what the previous person said. It's like there are no notes on these calls. We had this CRAZY bill that we had to set up a payment plan for. Took care of that, tried to cancel and we were told that we had to stay with them for a year or else we would owe more money but if we signed a year contract, than they would disregard the previous balance. Today, I get a text from a collections agency with another crazy bill. I'm so confused as to what this is about. I find out it's ADT. It's funny how we are 11 months in to this new contract and we have this crazy bill that my husband has been paying on MONTHLY! He had to pay b/c there are not notes from the last conversation of when he was told that they would disregard the previous balance.
So they send our info to collections then when we told them we want to cancel, we still have to pay another month because they need 30 days notice.
ADT, you all have really mastered the art of scamming. I am so happy to be rid of you and the first chance I get, I will be sending your equipment back b/c I don't want it in my presence. I don't care that you say it's ours, we can't even do anything with it.
Please believe we will be calling at the end of the 30 days because ADT is good for not canceling when they are supposed to and then they will make you pay another 30 days or just not say anything at all and let the fees accumulate.

Zero in customer service
Zero in customer service, I've been a customer for decades and called to get instructions on how to replace a motion sensor battery and the first person emailed me the instructions on how to replace the control panel battery. When I called back, the customer service rep told me to look it up on youtube because he didn't have a connection to email it to me. I'm appealed by such laziness and lack of respect for customers
ADT is the WORST Customer Support that…
ADT is the WORST Customer Support that I have ever dealt with!!! Been calling for 2 weeks since Oct 14, upon installation on the dispute of charges being charged. Have spoken with a few personnel from Account Management Team and yet been told to wait for the local branch to call back to resolve the issues multiple times. Most frustration is not being able to cancel service and have to go through local branch for the cancellation even within trial period would not let me cancel! After speaking with numerous ADT personnel, not one person is able to help me solve my issue. WAITING FOREVER for someone to call back!!! SCAM!!!

I can’t wait until my contract is up. I’m basically paying for a product that’s difficult to operate and can’t get any assistance without paying. From my own experience I would not recommend ADT services.

I will never use ADT security system again and you can thank your chat agent Angeliek N. She was reading her script to a T, until I refused to continue service and then she had an attitude and disconnected the chat. For one thing, I was charged a month for a service I wasn't utilizing which should have been discovered if your company was doing more than just sending out a bill each month. And then told that I would have to pay for an additional month (still not using your service). NEVER AGAIN.

My home was burglarized with $100,000 plus loss. ADT never contacted me or the police when the power was cut. And every person we have talked to at adt is in shock that they are taking zero responsibility. I am appalled at the way I’ve been treated. I’m distraught and no longer feel safe in my own home! I haven’t slept in weeks. ADT is a joke.

ADT SECURITY COMPANY 5 star rateing should be 5 star NEGATIVE!!!! ADT is the worst security company I have ever dealt with!!! Communication with their divisions are extremely difficult and (wait) time consuming and ADT FIELD TECHS. WILL STEAL directly from your bank accounts with absolutely no positive response from ADT supervisors!!!! I will never deal with them again!!!!

I wish there was something lower than 1 star. I was told by a friend who is fairly well schooled on security systems to run from ADT. Wish I listened. I am waiting for a call back for my THIRD issue in 6 months. They have tried charging me the other two times even though it was just installed. I pitched a big enough for the first time and they waived the charge and o was able to fix the second issue on my own. The system is JUNK!!! Don’t walk… RUN from ADT. It’s complete crap.
Unlawfully Chargrd My Credit Card
On 10/17/2024 my ADT account had a balance of $0.00. Today, 10/18/2024 it showed a balance of $-133.14.
ADT UNLAWFULLY CHARGED my credit card. They did not have my permission to charge my credit card in OCTOBER. Doing so is a crime. When I called them they said that they would send a check. I told them that sending a check is unacceptable. Then they agreed to put the funds back to my credit card in 7 to 10 days
They charged my credit card in one day, they can return the funds in one day, not seven to ten days. That charge on my card incurres interest.
This is yet another reason I left ADT after 17 years as a loyal customer.
As an update. ADTcontinues to lie. They seem to have toddlers as accountants. My ADT shows a 0.00 balance but my credit card statement tells a different story. Maybe we need to see hiw a judge reads both statements
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This company is to be avoided at all costs. They are not run well. Their customer service representatives say inconsistent things. They refuse to respond to multiple letters I have sent regarding my dad's account. I called and they were unable to transfer me to a supervisor because of a problem with their system. The system they installed for my dad never worked right, the fire department was called out erroneously on more than one occasion, and now they are making it very difficult to cancel his contract. Seriously, AVOID THEM.

Actually it’s very hard to even give a 1star review . I have 3 accounts ranging over 20+ years. I placed a call to ADT hoping to speak with an accounts manager regarding my rates . After exactly 56 minutes repeating my concern with two different representatives, was then sent to an accounts manager who after I gave her my 3 locations of service , she disconnected my call . Yes HUNG up on me !! I remained on the call thinking surely she will return . Which she did not !

Got system installed oct 1224 Equipment failed first day and spent hours on phone to get fixed .Called to cancel 3 days later and told it would cost 2600 bucks to drop it .Beware of this scam company and never use ADT for anything.

The Absolute worst Customer Service Ever!!! These people are Morons!! During initial setup, I gave them my debit card information & was told they would automatically deduct the Amount each month, not!!!!!
Then after a lengthy phone call & a new card, I was assured they would be doing a automatic withdrawal each month. Not!!!!!!!
& now you have the audacity to try & charge me a $87.00 late fee, because once again someone on your end failed to hit the Save button???? To save my new card.

Stay far away from this company. They will have their employees do and say whatever it takes to have you sign something that you didn't agree too. Read all the fine print before you sign anything. Do not take the word of an employee as they are just trying to get commission checks. Shady company and extremely expensive that's why they try to tie down contracts. Please beware and avoid a headache like I did.
Horrible service
I have been trying to set up a DIY account and this has been a nightmare to say the least. Something that should have taken me minutes to set up has now taken me hours of wasted time simply because the app can't find my email. Over the past 2 days I have been on the phone for 3 hours. I keep getting put on hold to someone else, who either cant help me or hangs up the phone without answering. Problem is still not yet solved.
Terrible Customer Service
I really wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased ADT. There are multiple complaints for the exact same thing that happened to me. I took off work for the serviceman to come from 8-12. He never showed. I called 4 times until 3:30, and then a manager told me that they had to reschedule because he was there, and I wasn't. I said, "Check my 6 cameras", he was not here. Two people told me he was there and when I said to look at my cameras to prove he wasn't, they said they couldn't see my cameras. They constantly sent me to someone else. I was on hold a total today of 1 hour trying to get help. We are new customers and to say we are disappointed is an understatement. Do not purchase from them. Customer service is nonexistent. Only one representative, Rashida, out of the 4 that I talked to, helped me. If I would have had her first, I wouldn't have been so upset. They need to train their customer service representatives.

I strongly advise against using ADT. The service is absolutely terrible, and the app is completely unusable. No one from technical support ever picks up or calls back. After waiting on hold for nearly an hour, I gave up. The email support response was confusing and appeared to be written for an engineer rather than a customer.
I truly hope you read this before hiring ADT. Out of all the companies I’ve dealt with in my life, this has been the worst experience, hands down. I deeply regret not doing more research beforehand, but seeing all the 1-star reviews now just confirms I’m not alone in my frustration.
Unfortunately, canceling would cost me thousands of dollars, leaving me trapped in a terrible situation. My experience with ADT has been so bad that I’ve been brought to tears from frustration. I will do everything I can to inform others about this company. Shame on you, ADT.

If I could rate them lower I would. I've been having issues with my hard wired google nest doorbell. ADT reluctantly agreed to waive the $59 fee and send a tech to my house on 10.8.24, between 1300-1700. No one ever showed up. When I reached out to ADT they stated that their systems went down due to an upgrade and bo techs were able to go out in the field and other issues related to the system upgrade. I find it odd that their system was able to send out an email reminder about the appointment the evening prior yet they were unable to or simply failed to reach out to me about rescheduling. I am so over this lack of professionalism.

Awful! An account was opened without my consent. Not only that, but an appointment was scheduled for an install without my consent. I have a credit on my account which I am currently trying to get back. I keep getting bounced around from rep to rep. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Beyond over ADT. I don’t like to point fingers & maybe it’s my fault for not doing enough research before going under contract with ADT. But I will never recommend this company. I understand that systems go down and that’s frustrating but there should be procedures in place that occur when this happens. How can we trust ADT with our home security when they can’t even help us with support?? I’ve been trying to log into my account all day with no luck & I’ve talked to multiple customer support reps who say they have emailed me my contract and I haven’t received anything. It’s so frustrating not to see what contract they are referring to every time I reach out. Long story short, do not use ADT for your home security. Thank you!

We've had our security system for over 28 years now. I recently called to cancel the service but decided to upgrade with them using our existing equipment to the extent possible. We set up a four hour timeframe for installation - 8am - 12noon. After confirming the appointment a couple of days in advance, we heard nothing further from ADT. At 11:45, we called to check the status of the appointment. I was on hold for 20 minutes while the CSR 'check for me'. I hung up and called back and explained what happened and the CSR hung up with no response. If this is how they operate to set up installation, I'm super pleased that we never once had to depend on them in an emergency situation. This company is clearly not the quality operation their advertising says they are.
