I BOUGHT A LEMON!
This company is the epitome of hook, line and sinker. They sell you faulty equipment, dare you to cancel the contract for $7k, refuse to lower your monitoring cost (becuase you weren't told the monthly cost up front) unless you've been with them a year. I've had them for less than a month and already faulty, at random sensor issues. And the worst being awakened to alarm sounding off in the middle of the night 2x for the same issue...door open when it's not. Within 1st week 2 different window sensor issue. I see the future and it doesn't look good. Worst investment I ever made.I feel like a sucker who bought a shinny waxed car who bought a lemon, I've learned that mistakes are co$tly Will pay this hefty cancellation fee soon Please get out of my life. Should've went with whom? Who has any other suggestions?

Total trash. I regret going with ADT so much. The app is garbage. ADT provides more stress than it does security.

They dont let you cancel the service so they can bill - It is very stressful dealing with them - We owe them nothing but they bill be for $100 or more- We bought the service for our house in West Virginia but now I dont require monitoring as we have good neighbors.

I contacted ADT about moving my service to a new home. I had 2.5 yrs left on my contract. ADT took the equipment balance & service balance in full out of my bank account without my consent. I cancelled my service with ADT since I will not do business with criminals. Do not trust ADT.

Don't recommend doing business with ADT. They use call centers outside of the US and the people read scripts and are of no real help.
This company is the WORST
This company is the WORST. I’ve spoken to so many agents about relocating, and no one mentioned I’d be charged differently. I talked to 9 agents today looking for help and none of them knew what to do, they don’t tell you all you need to know. I’m definitely never doing business with them again.
I couldn't possibly be more pissed at…
I couldn't possibly be more pissed at ADT. What a horrible company to work with. I've gone through THREE smoke detectors that keep failing in the pool utility room due to heat. The room is kept warm because, guess what, the pool is kept warm. Batteries last no more than a month, and they have sent THREE different smoke detectors, and every one has indicated a heat alarm. I keep telling them over and over that the room is intentionally kept warm and they keep expecting me to fix the problem. I'd never again install another ADT anything. When there is an issue, they don't come to fix it, they expect YOU to do it. What a horrible company! Notice the automated response from ADT. This is how they do things and never address the issue. It's to convince you they care- notice every response is the same?
The worst decision I Made business and personal
I have a personal account and a business account with ADT. Caveat emptor .. My business was broken into while their system was down and I was not alerted until 40 minutes later AFTER the burglar had left with damage to the property and was able to get a big safe out of the premises. Because I have a contract I am bound to complete the contract so tonight I called stating that there was a error in setting the alarm again and the same thing happened the night before and tonight I called with the same problem and they informed me that in order to send out a technician to check why the equipment is malfunctioning it will be a trip charge and a service fee . BEFORE you enter into a contract research and go with other providers like SimpliSafe a company I used while I was in the rehab process and NEVER had a problem . It was an attempt at a burglary during rehab and the police caught the suspects and I just wish I did not make the decision to use ADT because they were a bigger company . The worst decision I could have made . As soon as I finish this contract out I’m taking both accounts away from ADT and going back to SimpliSafe . CAVEAT EMPTOR let the buyer beware !!! Every since I’ve been with them as expensive as they are it’s ridiculous .

Well, for starters, this company will completely rip you off and continue to take your hard earned money months after you try to cancel, talking about a contract or whatever, now my bank accounts 745 in the hole and they refuse to reverse the charges. I tried to cancel back in June due to faulty equipment and lack of funds really. Now I'm between jobs tried explaining that, they didn't even care. So buyer beware of this company, the only thing you need protection from is ADT!!
Run, run, run away from ADT
Our system has been down since early July. At least 2 times, we "had" an appointment, but ADT never showed up. When we called, they had no record of our appointments, even though we had emails and texts from ADT "confirming" the appointments. The next appointment they offered us was November 11th. This is unacceptable. We've been an ADT customer for close to 30 years! It's beyond ridiculous that this is the service they deliver. They should be ashamed of themselves - what an utter joke!!

I have ADT for 2 years now and in a 36 month contract I can’t get out of. I am regretting it! First I had the cameras and alarm system. The cameras worked half the time. They never caught motion. I returned them which caused the to “have” to start a new contract with me which extended my contract term. It lowered my bill but I am unhappy with the service and can’t get out it. What company forces their customers to pay when they are not satisfied and remain for 3 years????

Terrible customer service they rake your money and no service my camera has not worked in month .they did not fix it .and they charge 80 dollares a month do not waste your money and they got you in a contract .
ADT is the worst security services…
ADT is the worst security services company on the face of the planet. They are greedy. They play games with their customers and please make note that when it comes time to cancel your services it’s like pulling teeth. And they also will force you to pay yet another 30 days beyond the date that you called for cancellation so that they can greedily get one more payment out of you. My advice stay clear of ADT. No I have no interest in your response.

Terrible service. No response to burglar alarm going off last 2 times. Won't service equipment. Always want to charge. Can't get support to come to house. Can't get a manager on the phone.. to be safe use another provider

I come across customer review. Ever since I had ADT I've had trouble with it the sensor in the bedroom I've changed batteries three times one time was ordered from the company and it's still didn't work I change internet service and I have my front door camera working but the backyard camera will not work. I have troubleshooted it and and someone else that knows after work with the camera. After my contract is over which is outrageous. I should have went with another alarm company but I was trying to give ADT another try. Often have trouble with one offline. Are delays. Always telling me Cameron not ready. And I have checked my internet service many times thinking it was with them. I should have went with Ring. I also called for service in which I've had an employee take the information and then just told me to wait and hung up on me. I asked them to come out again at another time and they said it would be a $59 charge but the tech called me and said that they were waving the $59 and they would charge me $100 and he was just giving me heads up about the price. And I understand they want to do everything online but sometime you need them to come out especially for senior citizens. I should have just went with someone else. And if I knew how much it was going to cost I would have left it alone locking people into contracts and not really explaining but that's my fault. So now my backyard camera is off been off for 6 months. I can't afford to pay the price for them to come out so I'm going to just change out with another service. And I always tell people to get ADT but my mind exchanged.

RUN!! So I got stationed at ft drum and I wanted a security system. My mom has Vivent and it's awesome so I tried Vivent but because ft drum is in the middle of nowhere, they said they don't service my area...so I said okay let me go with ADT. That was the biggest mistake of my life....I don't have time to go I to detail so I'm going to lay out the basics
1. The lady on the phone lied about the contract term length.
2. She lied about the 30 day trial..she said it doesn't start until you set your equipment up...because I'm stationed at a high tempo place I didn't have time to set up right away so it took me 2 weeks until I could get it all set up
3. Actually it took me a month in a half because the door sensor wouldn't work due to the style of my door. But no one mentioned this..they just kept going through troubleshooting and it wouldn't work. So my home was unsecure for the month and a half yet I still had to pay. I had to end up buying an additional piece from Amazon for the door sensor to work
4. Everytime I cook I have to unplu the damn thing because the keypad fire sensor goes off and they send out the fire department. In the setti g there is no way to turn this off.
5. They didn't even have ppl who could come out to set up in my area.
6. I paid for equipment and they tried to say I didn't pay. I had to show them my bank statements.
I had the worst experience ever and I'm torn up about it. Now I'm stuck for 3 years paying for crap I'm not satisfied with...it doesn't even work properly.

The cameras doesn’t work properly. After we installed it we had to change to ring camera. If you buy door opener and garage opener they are pricey and if you cancel the service those become useless so you have to pay them forever… worst decision I ever made.

Terrible experience with ADT
Contracted with ADT and install was September 16. We left next day for out of the country for 7 nights. Towards end of trip, I checked my email. Seems for a number of days the system was in "practice status". So for days, our system was not armed to protect our home. When we returned home, the system had numerous false alarms. Woke us more than once during the night with alarm blaring. No attempt to break in. While out socially for evenings and arming the system, calls-texts-emails with alarm alerts that were false. But ADT never called the police.
Empty promises by ADT could not solve the issue. This is a terrible experience since no one will call back to follow through with correcting the problem. We were forced to cancel within 30 days of install. Now ADT states we only have 30 days from date of contract. ADT took 2 weeks to install the system.
Terrible SARASOTA FL area experience. Each day someone from ADT calls to try to collect past due. Harassment and poor business! DO NOT USE ADT/

I have been a customer of ADT for over 15 years now. At the end of 2023, we started having issues with our system not connecting properly to ADT. It is an old system and could not be easily upgraded. In speaking with the sales team, they sold a new setup which I was very excited to get installed. We agreed to put everything on a single monthly bill (services & installation) for a 3-year contract. The contract was signed & ready to go. The installation happened at the beginning of 2024 and seemed to go flawlessly, and I enjoyed the new system.
That is, until the bill arrived. They decided to charge me 1/3 of the total installation. It seems that after getting additional equipment during the installation, the contract was changed to 3-pay option plan. My mistake - I should have read before signing again, but I would not have expected this to change. After calling them and explaining that this should be over 36 months, not 3 payments, they agreed and escalated the issue to a different department for a new contract. Unbeknownst to me, they sent that contract via e-mail, and I did not see it. The following month, I called again as they were looking for payment. They agreed and escalated once again. This time, there is no new agreement sent to me.
I have continually called to find the status and I am repeatedly told that it needs to be escalated. Now it is nearly October, and they are demanding full payment or service is shut off. I called once again, and no more help. I have asked to escalate this, and they have agreed to send this to the local ADT office, but I do not see that happening.
I should have listened to the other reviews and either created my own security system (much cheaper) or went with someone else. I am sure I will end up paying this in full to keep the services running, but this will be the last purchase with them.
I really wish this would have had a better outcome, but alas – just does not seem like they care anymore.

ADT and their trusted companies lie to…
ADT and their trusted companies lie to you about how long the contract is. They claim it’s a year, but it’s three and then have excessive fees if you want to cancel before the first year. Please read contract carefully before deciding to sign. I do not recommend this company what so ever for security. The quality is minimal and services are not adequate.

I scheduled two service appointments to fix one of why 4 cameras after going through the self diagnostics process. Both times the technician did not show up after waiting a total; of 8 hours. This company in awful!!
Unethical Installer
I purchased a system for $448 that was installed on 8/31. ADT is a nationwide company that I believed was reputable. I never expected to have an issue like this. We scheduled installation for the day of the move- so there were several people milling about in the house when the installer arrived and I was busy with unpacking boxes. On the evening of the installation day, our alarm went off. I called in to ask why that would happen. We did not open any doors. I found out the installer, Angel, added a glass break device, which went off due to a loud noise in the apartment. I didn't know anything about this since this was not part of the system that I agreed to purchase. The next day, I learned I was charged $ 100 for this extra device. At no time was I advised or even asked if I wanted to purchase another component! Nor did I give this guy my credit card!!!!! The installer acted in a deceitful manner- this tactic is highly unethical. I called the sales rep the next business day to inform him of what happened and to arrange a refund and to disconnect the nuisance glass break alarm. He promised he would take care of it. 3 weeks later....I'm still waiting. He's been sending messages to the installation manager who is not responding. Tonight I called into ADT and found out that what I thought was a smoke alarm in my new apartment, is actually the glass break device!!!!! The installer never pointed this out to me. The helpful customer service rep was trying to help me disconnect this and she told me to look for a round device that looked like a smoke alarm and take out the battery! Now I have 2 holes in my wall that I'll probably be charged for when I move and I am still waiting for my refund. The next rep I spoke with on the call told me since I signed the work order, I'm stuck! Totally disregarded the fact that the installer NEVER said anything about charging me $ 100 for anything! As a single grandparent, $100 is a significant amount of money to lose to a dishonest installer. I'm so disappointed and sorry I made this purchase.
