Do NOT use ADT
I do NOT recommend this company at all! My cameras have not worked in almost 2 years & I have asked them for help. They will send an email & make you do it yourself. It does NOT work. Then they want charge to send someone to your home to help & they will charge you for your monthly "service". This is the WORST company!!!

One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with
One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. They are experts at giving you the run around. If there's issues. You better be willing to call multiple times a day for several days, talk to 20 different people as they pass you around, and at the end, you get nothing accomplished except high blood pressure. Once they get you signed up, you might as well just give up , because you are 3rd class to them.

ADT is a complete scam do not go for it. They first tricked us into a three year contract where they mentioned it was a two year contract. Then now we got a new house and moved out, they still want us to pay the three months that's left. I asked them to transfer the service to my new house for the remaining three months and they say that it is not possible. Now i have to pay three months for nothing. This is what we get for being their customer for almost three years.

Intimidation and Scare Tactics
Had a relocation program worker show up to my house unannounced. When I asked for time to think about enrolling woth ADT, he said that's my choice... if I want to get raped or want my cat to die while I'm not home. That's the moment I kicked him out of my house and decided I'll never go with ADT.

Stay from ADT
Inherited a system from the previous homeowner. Made an appointment to have the service activated. Within minutes of activation, I saw that the system did not have the components I wanted. Called to cancel the service - and was told that I was stuck with a 36-month contract! How greedy is this? I am not giving up! This is the most despicable company I have ever dealt with!

Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company. They tell you one thing and claim it is in the notes but then it’s never actually written. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with them just to have them honor things their company and/or equipment messed up on. All the customer service reps say they are sorry but nobody can actually do anything to fix things. I highly recommend going with a different company.

It’s a trap!!
It’s a trap!!! They will hook you up with equipment payments, if you want to cancel their service you will have to pay for the equipment anyway. If you ever have a problem with your system, having someone to come over it’s $59, and then and an hourly rate. If you ever try to get out of this mess and try to cancel their service, you will spend at least 40 min on the phone trying to convince them to please cancel it! This whole thing it’s a waste of time, money, and my patience!!!

BEWARE -- After 34 years and 10 months…
BEWARE -- After 34 years and 10 months - I finally had enough and canceled my service. Believe this Rating of 1 Cancellation - I paid $183 on Friday for an ADT tech to come and remove the system. He only removed the old wires. Monday they said they do not remove active equipment only wires that no longer work. "Maybe you can get a handyman." I would have if only I had known.

Made sales appointment at 8:00 am. Did not show up and there is no message or call. Called customer service but there is help. She arrives 8:40 am and tells me she has 90 minutes window of time and she is not allowed to call if she is running late. Then she goes on telling me that there is no way I will be able to install ADT today. I told her that the underlying issue is you are unprofessional for being late and that window of time 90 minutes to spend time with customer and not waiting for you. In any case not going to deal with ADT. Be aware! Their customer service is horrible and unprofessional.

I am more than royally PISSED.
I am more than royally PISSED. I purchased a home, and ADT contacted me about a FREE home security system. They neglected to tell me that by getting my FREE system, I would charged $1690.70 to have said FREE system installed! The date of experience is the date that I was charged.

Don’t sign a contract with ADT
Don’t sign a contract with ADT! They will lie to you about anything to get you to sign. They commit contract fraud. “Contract fraud is when a business intentionally deceives another party into signing a contract by making false or misleading statements.” The salesman stated when we signed contract we could cancel anytime, we are just obligated for the equipment for 60 month payments on equipment. The contract is misleading to look like the 60 month obligation is for the equipment, but in reality they lock you into 5 years service charges and they can raise the rates after 1 year. I’ve tried to cancel multiple times. I am now talking to a lawyer. Do you think they would get a sell if they told people: they are locked in a 5 year contract, can never cancel, ADT can increase service fees (to no limit) after first year, and the only day you can cancel this contract is exactly 30 days before end of contract, if you try to cancel any time before contract ends you have to pay thousands in service fees, there is no satisfaction guarantee and ADT will charge you service fees every month after the contract ends until you call in with a 30 day notice? These are predatory contracts. Cellphone companies are not allowed to put people into contracts like this.

do not use them they are the worst my building caught on fire instead of being able to put the service on hold and for them to come and install a new system after the repairs. they decided to charge me for the entire remaining balance. they are the worst company to work with.

Wish there was a setting for no stars
Wish there was a setting for no stars! Horrible service, dropped service to cameras, pressure of up sale boosters to achieve acceptable service, failed to connect ring doorbells to electrical connection, don’t waste your money. Can’t wait for contract to end. Horrible company. So ADT responded. Went to website and there is no place to submit a copy of the post as requested. Just the horrible chat bot. After hanging for 30 minutes trying to talk to a real person, just gave up. Don’t do business with this company.

Omg where do I start
Omg where do I start? I normally don’t write reviews but this time I am because I want my review to help others. I ordered ADT security services March 2023, I was told I have 30 days to change my mind. By the time I got the device, my boyfriend had already installed Xfinity security cameras so I had to return ADT’s only because Xfinity was cheaper. I called ADT customer service to cancel I had no one answering!!! Finally when someone answered I was transferred from department to department stating I was in the wrong department and they were short staffed. This went on for weeks so I finally gave up I didn’t know what to do with their equipments. A little over a month went by I finally got a hold of someone then they said I could no longer return the equipments after the 30 days! I asked them to cancel anyway but it looks like they never canceled and I am now being charged for over $1,500 for services I never received!!!! They are now calling my phone every day asking me to pay amount owed for services I never got!!! This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had so please be wise before considering them!!! Best of luck.

BAD EXPERIENCE
i was travelling home for a funeral, I was very disappointed with the service i got from ADT, we received a call from ADT that there's an alarm from my house, is everything okay, so we asked them to go and check since well, there no one in the house and they called again telling me the guy who responded to the alarm couldn't enter in the yard due to high wall and i explained to the lady is 1st time i get such reason from ADT, they normal jump the wall what's so different now, that lady told me that she checked the system and she doesn't see that the once managed to jump the wall, how am i supposed to keep such record? I had to call my neighbor to check if everything is okay in my yard, he did only to find out that there was an intruder, he ran away, it was a poor service from ADT, I'm paying a lot of money for them to give me such a bad service. i called trying to complain about this incident till today I'm still waiting for the manager to give me a call back. im even considering cancelling my contract with ADT for such a bad treatment.

Adt sucks
I have been trying to get ADT to fix my system for well over a month since a lightning strike, customer Support SUCKS, technical support SUCKS. Tried to complain about the service Not being fixed, hung up on me.. Going to a different company. Period. This is after having them for over 15 years!!!

Horrible company and worst service
They try to upsell you for things you don't need (like motion sensors even though you have pets). Equipment malfunctions all the time and it's impossible to reach anyone on customer service lines without a very long wait. I eventually disconnected everything so it'd stop beeping and waited out the contract. Never again!!

I sign up 4 adt 3 yes ago they told me my rates would go down after the equipment was paid off and now they said that the rate is what I signed up 4 and that's what I have 2 pay then bought new equipment and it was more than buying it from Google and they don't have access 2 monitor it i have 2 go to an app 2 see what's going on but have 2 pay them 2 monitor it myself what am I paying 4 adt shame on u

Cancelled contract out of frustration- poor customer/ technical support
I am a 21 year customer of ADT. Note, I almost never write reviews and do only when service is either really good or really bad. I finally chose to cancel my contract when I 1) could not get someone from customer service on the phone to assist with technical issues (weeks of trying), and 2) when I could not set up a service call (not a by-phone troubleshooting appt., which I had tried already). The website did not even work to set up a telephone appointment (which I attempted because getting a person on the phone is so inefficient). So, I finally decided to terminate the service. Interestingly, I WAS able to get an employee on the phone when I selected "cancel service" from the menu; this person attempted to be helpful, and even said he could have a technician at my house the same day. Unacceptable after weeks of my trying to get assistance (granted, I did not try daily-- who has time for that). But the reason I'm compelled to write a review is that the company then requires their associates to interrogate the departing customer at length (wasting my time) in an attempt to remedy the dissatisfaction and dissuade the customer from leaving (again wasting my time). There were even interesting, long periods of silence (multiple) on the call while the poor associate's computer was "loading information" to permit them to complete the cancellation. I actually suspect that this is another delay tactic intended to have someone hang up in frustration rather than finally cancel the contract. ADT used to have very prompt customer service and technical support, but no more.

This is the most nefarious company that I have dealt with. For starters, the equipment and services that we pay for have not been active for more than 4 months. We were never notified that the equipment and services were disconnected so we had to find out after an incident and they will not reactivate the equipment and services unless we pay an extra $40 on top of the $60 that we have been paying every month that the equipment and services have been inactive. Our payments were never interrupted but their equipment and services ceased to operate more than four months ago. We have paid $240 for equipment and services that were never received and they want an extra $40 to have them reactivated. On top of all that, it was never clearly disclosed that we were signing up for a three-year contract in the beginning. In fact, I clearly remember the sales associate telling us via word of mouth that we could cancel anytime if we were not satisfied. It is only after more than a year into their nefarious contract that the company reveals to us that they intentionally swindled us from the start. In order to cancel the contract, they want us to pay 75% of the entire 3-year contract that we were never told about to begin with.

After 30 years with ADT I decided to…
After 30 years with ADT I decided to cancel my service due to the expense. We had to call several times write a letter and still they didn't cancel it and continued to bill me until now. I would heartily encourage people to avoid ADT and simplify your life by getting a good internet service like Google fiber and install your own monitored the ring system. It's way cheaper it's better and it's easy to install I just did it myself.

Terrible service and customer service
Terrible service and customer service. They improperly installed my system and it has never worked in the last four years that we have had it. They have sent out numerous technicians, had me purchased additional equipment, all to get the system to work. It has never worked. When I called to cancel, they kept me on hold for two hours, tried to negotiate with me and even tried to tell me that I owed them a $100 late fee for a pervious payment. They are a scam. You do not need to use ADT. Best Buy has better options that you can install yourself and save you thousands of dollars. Update: They asked me to send them an email of my issue, which I did, and I never heard back from ADT. No surprise there.

Title: Beware of ADT's Refund Practices!
I had a very disappointing experience with ADT after purchasing equipment on two separate occasions. Both times, I returned the equipment, expecting a straightforward refund process. However, ADT refused to provide my money back, leaving me with no choice but to involve my bank and dispute the charges. Their customer service offered no satisfactory explanation for the delay in processing my refunds, which is incredibly frustrating. It seems that holding onto customers' money for an extended period is a common practice for them. I urge potential customers to think twice before buying equipment from ADT. If there's even a slight chance you may need to return it, be prepared for a long and arduous process to get your money back. You likely won't receive a refund without involving your financial institution. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere!
