It has taken 36 months to cancel my account. I was on hold for 30 minutes twice while agents bounced me around. When I finally got to the person who said he would cancel my account, he was upset that I would neither recommend your company to anyone else, or transfer my service.

I have had ADT alarm service for over 25 years. Over the last several years their rates have increased slightly. Previously if I had a problem with my system ADT would send a technician to my home to make repairs at no out of pocket cost to me. Now when I call for service I am told that there will be a $99 service fee. When I initially had my system installed several years ago I purchased a touchscreen keypad at a substantial cost that had multiple features including numerous event logs. Over the years the screen has become unreadable. ADT informed me that this keypad was obsolete and no longer available. My subscription I am now told does not cover replacement parts as it only covers repairs with a $99 fee. After being on hold for over 30 minutes on the phone a representative agreed to send me a replacement keypad at one half price to which I agreed. When I received an email the next day I learned that the replacement was for a basic keypad, not like the one that I needed. I was told that the keypad which I needed was considered an upgrade at a cost of $249.00 and was not even offered a discounted price as I was offered for the basic keypad.
In the home where I am now living I had Brinks install a system and have had complaints about their service including service fees and very long telephone hold times. I longed for what used to be good services provided by ADT and found that ADT was now fallen to the level of Brinks. It is no wonder that savvy consumers are now using do- it -yourself systems like Simplysafe. If you are looking for a security system and you have the knowhow I would not recommend ADT..

i was a customer for almost 2 years. I called and cancelled the service in August of 2022. I was reviewing my credit card bill in Dec and saw ADT was still charging me monthly because i was set up on auto pay. I called ADT and informed them. They stated they would make sure it was cancelled and refund me to the card on file. That did not happen. I called back in January and the young lady Autumn stated she was able to cancel and i would receive a refund to my card in 3 business days. I received a statement from ADT showing a credit. I received a call from a sales person trying to get me to continue service in for my new home. Stated the issues to the sales person and they abruptly got off the phone with me after i voiced my displeasure. I called again today because i still have not received a refund. Spoke with Hector who was very helpful and stated there was some other card and address on my file. No idea how that happens when you need as password to get into the account. Hector stated a check was going to be mailed to me. We will see. Do not sign up for direct payment. ADT is easy to sign up with but impossible to cancel. I was not under any contract if anyone is thinking that. I only did 1 year thank goodness. Think about a ring before a service like this

Review and assist? Are you felons serious? You WILL go bankrupt and for good reason. YOU ARE CRIMINALS! When the populous finally realizes that they CAN stop paying for services you NEVER provide, then it WILL be the end of you. The tipping point is VERY near. I for one will applaud when that day comes. There WILL be a class action suit that brings down your criminal enterprise that is a scam, and a sham. Only a matter of time.
Horrible customer service!
Everything was fine (for 18 years) until I moved and had to cancel ADT service. I understand I signed a contract and would have to pay an early termination fee, but the customer service was so incredibly rude. All they were concerned with was up-selling on my new house and stating how much the cancellation fee would be.

Called ADT bc my camera isn't working
Called ADT bc my camera isn't working. Explained I have an order of protection which is why I got them. They offered me an email with instructions to fix which didn't work or a virtual call. This is the 4th time. Missed my stalker busting my car window bc it wasn't working.
ADT is a scam !!! They don't care about their customers
ADT is all a scam. When I lived in Florida I had ADT for 11years. When we decided to move to Georgia we call the company to make a transfer. They told us to leave the system in our old house that I would get new equipment in the new house. We said ok and schedule to get our new system connected on October 10, 2022. They came and I paid my system in full $879.00. Yesterday I received a bill for the ADT system in Florida for $1478.00. I called them up and inquire about the bill and nice lady from ADT told me that i had to pay for it. Or they were going to take it out of my bank account in one payment. I told her to go ahead and to stop my service from the new house. She said ok now you owe us $3878.00 and that they would take that from my bank as well. So this morning I wake up and check my bank account and they never took the money from my bank account. Cause they couldn't. The account they had on file was my Miami account from Bank of America which I closed it down when I moved to Georgia. Sorry ADT try to screw your next customer. Going with Vivit smart home security. Once you pay for your system it's your. Not like ADT which told me that you pay for the system but it's there's you never own it. They could keep it. Come get it out of the garbage can before Friday morning that the truck comes. Attorney already working on this. Since I have the receipts for both system that were paid in full.

I had an ADT representative come to my house around Aug 22. In Oct 22 hurricane Ian came through and knocked out the interior master alarm panel. I have tried to get them to come and fix it. Several times they informed me that it was a subsidiary and they had trouble getting someone out to fix it. In February 22 they finally got someone to come fix the system. They still charged me $62 for a service call because they said it was outside the 90 day window. I asked if my previous service at the housed I moved from before this one counted towards satisfying the three year contract terms would count and they said it would not even though I had service there for two years and continued it until I moved into this house.so now of course I'm on the hook for another three year hitch. I asked how much the termination fee was, and he said it was 1600. So no security monitoring for almost four months but I am still held to the contract. What a great company. STAY AWAY FROM ADT. IF THEY COME TO YOUR DOOR SLAM IT IN THIER FACE.

My 3rd tel call to set up cameras that I pay for and bought thru adt . Got lied to on my 1st and 2nd tel call . Still on the tel now . So so disappointed. I don’t see this company making much longer . Asked to speak to a manager and I can’t even get that .
By the way on the tel for 1 hr and 44 min and they still didn’t solve my issue . Calling back for the 4th time today . Worse customer service ever
Pathetic company to work with
Hello. I am looking to have alarms at home and since ADT is a good brand so thought why not to take quotation. The sales person was decent and explained me everything though ADT is still work on old school technology and don’t have latest tools and gadget to use. After the sales pitch and after I had another quotation from different company I decided not staying with ADT. I didn’t try to get the appointment and it was a task as very difficult to get appointment some how I managed to get it and the lady was quite rude and not giving me information which i really want to know.
I was told that I will got a call from the sales guy which I did and still decided not to continue with ADT. The sales guy said that the back office will process the cancellation and refund me the deposit I paid.
After waiting for almost week. I called to the team who I initially booked my appointment. Spoke to another rude person who wasn’t telling me but asking me questions to decide what to say. I asked why the cancellation was late and why it’s taking another 7-10 working days. Since the agent want to get rid of the call so he transfer me to a different department which has nothing to do with the cancellation and transfer me to account department. I explained the lady about the appalling service from ADT and she said to sent the complaint in writing.
I am glad that I didn’t go with ADT as it’s not at all a good service and if something happened they will not giving good and rapid response.
I will never ever use ADT nor recommend it to any of my family as the service is pathetic rest

If I can not rate this place I wouldn’t. 3 day buyer’s remorse lol that’s a joke. Who’s gonna tell in 3 days they don’t like it. I’ve had issues with my door bell, cameras etc they wanna try to fix everything over the phone. Trying to cancel is impossible without paying. I’ve only been with adt for 3 mths & I’m very unhappy with the customer service, I was told I can cancel in 90 days without paying that was a lie…..for the price you pay the service is horrible

Trying canceling after five years with adt. Impossible. They bill me which keep on increasing yearly and put. me in collections call numerous times for email to cancel services and they never did. Which pay collections to clear my owe payments. I’m using Ring now. 👍

Complete scam! Steer clear of this company! I am a long time customer. My cameras didn't work for well over a year but they had no problem debiting my bank account every month. I called numerous times and was simply told lies such as "you will be credited for the many months you paid once the technician comes out to do repairs". DO NOT LET ADT GET YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD #!

The technical service department expects the customer to fix the problem with their system. I had to demand that they schedule a service appointment as I do not work for them and I am not a technician also I am paying them for service.
Horrible customer experience, ADT lacks transparency and integrity
I inquired with ADT for a quote on a system, had to give phone number etc, expected a call or email although I really just wanted to gather some info and pricing that should have been easily available on the website without consenting to phone calls and emails. Got a call the following morning(Today) and it was terrible. I explained several times that I just wanted info on pricing not appointment with a technician but instead the salesperson (Danielle, I believe) instead insulted me by stating pricing required approved credit, although I DO have outstanding credit I am a cash buyer and am not relying on credit but there was no need to even discuss that as I just wanted pricing. I asked for another salesperson because I did not appreciate the direction of the call and she tried to end the call with me, I asked then "Does ADT not want to sell me a system because I asked for a different salesperson, is there no other salesperson available?" She informed me other salespeople were available but they would just provide the same info, so finally she did not get me another salesperson and I told her I would not be signing with ADT and ended the call. I cannot believe a company that has been doing this for as many years as ADT would treat someone they no nothing about like someone that cannot afford or qualify for their product, I cannot believe lack transparency to the point that you cannot get a price on cameras without agreeing to have a technician in your home and I can only assume allow them to pull credit. Horrible, horrible sales and customer service and I happen to know sales as I have been in sales management for the last 25 years. It seems they probably lack both leadership and training if I had to guess. I am just glad I realized how bad they treat potential clients before I actually became a client.

We felt compelled to have a security system because we don't own guns. But, ADT hasn't made it easy. The service works properly half the time. Then, for the other half of the time they want you to do the trouble shooting and "power cycling." We are not tech savy so we always ended up paying 69 dollars for a technician to come solve a problem that was their problem to begin with. Last straw was a technician that called at 8:56 to say he was 5 minutes away and he never came for the 8-12 appointment. Now I will be on hold for 57 minutes as told by the company to cancel!!! They make it so you cannot cancel online. Then, I read that I may have to submit my request in writing. What a total scam. Don't waste your money or your time. Update: just got a hold of them and they said they would send out a technician free of charge and lower my monthly rate. But, it is too little too late.
Bad alarm monitoring and even worst customer service
1) A few months ago, my alarm went off for about four minutes and nobody called, no policeman showed, no nothing. For you guys it was like it never happened at all. If it were a real emergency, I would be dead now.
2) The more recent problem, last week I called because my garage door sensor isn't working. Your troubleshooting department told me it was probably the magnet so you proceeded to ship me a magnet replacement kit. Upon arrival, I called the ADT troubleshooting department again and I was instructed and guided to replace the magnet. Upon replacing it, the issue wasn't fixed. I requested for a technician to come over to replace the sensor and fix the problem cause I'm tired of calling and being transferred from department to department without a solution. When I asked for the technician, the troubleshooting lady told me "oohhh it seems that you are supposed to be supported by a local dealer, Safe Haven. They would need to be the ones doing the sensor replacement, let me transfer the call to them". The call was transferred, then the Safe Haven representative told me, "Well, I can no longer service you free of charge because you tampered with the sensor. You will need to pay $89.99 for a new sensor and $59.99 for the visit/installation. This will need to be serviced by ADT because they instructed you to make the replacement. Let me transfer your call to ADT". The call was transferred back to ADT, and the guy who is now handling my call, Selvin from the tech or troubleshooting department (didn't want to tell me his last name), tells me that they cannot help and it should be Safe Haven. I explained the whole situation once again cause I didn't make the choice to replace the magnet, ADT instructed me to do so. He stands by his position that he cannot help me or send anybody. I asked for a supervisor, he said that there were no supervisors and couldn't give me a name of one. The most he could do is schedule a callback from the supervisor. I told him, ok do it. He said he scheduled it and I'm still awaiting that call back and my problem is still without a solution for a situation that ADT created.

This company is a complete scam. I have had there service for over a year and besides the technology being terrible, the equipment constantly malfunctioning / beeping all the time, it is impossible to cancel. I have been on hold for over 2 hours being transferred from department to department.

Been with ADT for 5 1/2 years and going through financial hardship so they offer 5.00 a month discount will NEVER let you out of a contact which I NEVER signed only to offer me a 900.00 payout to get out of the contract I never signed but continue to say we are here to help you ! What a crock of *** !!! So at 42.99 a month being single going through financial hardship how the hell can someone pay out 75% of their non signed contract ????? I will never recommend them to anyone nor will I ever use them again . So ruin my credit score of 828 and not pay or not eat???? Non caring !!!!!

What I'd like is to be able to email them but that isn't an option so you're forced to use the phone but they don't answer or you get an empty line. You can't get in touch with them. They are always "expeiencing an unusually high volume of calls". The only time I've found it easy to talk to them is when I owe them money. I've given them two stars because the engineers are good, it just seems like the organisation isn't there to support them.
It would appear the US side is on the ball, sadly they are of no help contacting the UK company.
Serious failures in providing good service
I have been a customer of this company for over twenty years. There has been a slow but significant decline in the quality of service at all levels.
ADT employees descent and polite. The quality of service consistently declining. I am appalled by my experiences over the last three years

I do not recommend ADT to anyone. Save your money and go with someone else. Their control board fried, with no fault on our part, and now I have to pay to get it fixed. Otherwise I am paying for a service I can’t use. I have had the system less than a year, and I will say this I will be canceling when our contract is up. Terrible service!!
Do NOT do business with this company
Honestly, I wish I did my research. I have 10 smoke alarms (sensors) and they have been nothing but a nightmare. False alarms and batteries need to be changed every week or 2. Mind you the batteries are 12$ each. We had another false alarm, fire department showed up even when ADT called to confirm if assistance was needed. ADT never cancelled the call to the fire department, they did turn off the sensor alarm but the HUB would not disarm, this took at least 20 minutes of tech support to even log into my account. The app kept freezing.
Also, I’ve replaced multiple alarms with no resolve. There absolutely needs to be a class action lawsuit with this company.
