ADT are thieves
ADT are thieves! They will offer you all the bells a whistles for a reasonable monthly rate auto withdrawal from your acct but when it comes to taking the money the will set you up on a yearly payment plan without your consent and take your money. They had a credit on the accts that they owed me in addition to the 525 and they stole that wasnt include on the return of funds to me also they deducted the install fees from the money they took from me so I actually only getting 370 and they still didn’t include the 20 they owe me back from a 3 monthly payment they had taken from me early because my older contract expired so they will automatically set you up on whatever contract they want without your consent and will take the money from your acct automatically. Not to mention I’ve now been waiting 12 businesses day, 17 days total for them to return they money they took from me in the middle of a pandemic and my husband and I don’t work when it’s only suppose to take as they promised 7-10 days. BUYERS BEWARE! Do not allow ADT to auto-withdrawal from your accts!!! They will take what they want without your consent!

ADT has no customer service, they are only interested in making you pay!
I've installed my ADT equipment 2 years ago and I was trapped from day 1. The technician came to my house and told me I needed a basic equipment. Then he told me he had no stock of this basic equipment so he proposed to upgrade me basically for free. He said he would send me gift cards for 3 months and then after 3 months I would be able to change my service to a lower rate. This never happened. I never received the gift card and I was never able to lower the service... because he had me signed a 3 years contract (!). This, even though I was renting! I tried to figure out something with ADT customer service that never showed any sign of compassion or understanding of the situation. They were to happy I would pay 50$ per month for 3 years. Or 1800$. I was super upset but there was nothing I could do. So I paid, telling myself I would never ever use their service again after the 3 years and that I would do my best to tell all my friends that ADT had those perverse practices. But after that, my owner decided to sell the house so I was kicked-out of the house after 2 years rent. I then called ADT which basically told me I had to pay the extra contract year because I was moving out !!!??? Can you believe that? Even though the decision to move out was not mine, they showed again no comprehension. The contracts they offer to customer are basically prisons. You are stuck with them, whatever happens to you. Of course, they had the solution : that I moved to ADT Blue. They would then wave the penalities of early termination. But... I had to sign again a 3 years contract. So I decided to terminate my contract with them and fight with billing department not to pay the early termination fee. Because it is not fair and it cannot be like that. I'm not even sure they understand what a true customer service is. They are taking advantage of people naivete and ignorance. My advice for everybody is = never go with ADT!

#1Recently upgraded my ADT security system…
#1Recently upgraded my security system to include cameras and a video doorbell. The technician did not do a good job. We have had to call a new tech to come and fix what he botched. Now. Today (11/15/2020) the power has gone out on the system after tech supposedly fixed it. The first and second tech left debris behind. Our refrigerator in the basement was disconnected without telling us and we discovered it had not been reconnected - we had to clean up the mess. Going to file an official complaint. #2 We did not get a 2nd key pad to replace the 2nd one in the basement. We called to request the 2nd keypad at the same time we requested the 2nd tech to come and fixed the botched job. Why did we need 2 separate appointments??? #3 When the tech came to install the 2nd key pad - his price was not the same that was quoted over the phone. We learned that it would have been more to mount it and less just to have a portable one. We refused the appointment because it was just too confusing. The tech could not explain the discrepancy. Fed up already and the upgrade is less than a week old.

My contract with ADT finish this…
My contract with ADT finish this October 24th, and after 2 weeks my doorbell doesn’t work! I purchased all my ADT equipment and the sales told me at the beginning I can self monitoring after my 3 years contract finish! I called ADT customer service this morning ask them is that possible they can help me for my doorbell! The agent repeated I am not their customer so they cannot help me although I purchased equipment from them! And just hang up my phone! I feel very disappointed and angry with this agent attitude but who can help me!? I paid 800 something for all equipment! They cannot smile to me when I was their customer and rude to me I am not their customer any more! Because their attitude and the way treat to their old customer, I won’t be their customer any more! I still feel very very very angry now!

I cannot stress how DANGEROUS ADT is
I cannot stress how DANGEROUS ADT is. Do NOT use them! I was with them for years and thought they could do the job to protect against REAL criminals. The kind of scum that can pick locks and hack into phone apps beat ADT to a pulp. ADT is as good as having a chair propped up against your unlocked front door. Many small items were stolen from my home. Eventually, I was drugged and assaulted in my own home. The misinformed customer service reps at ADT gave me a false sense of security. Once I figured out ADT equipment is nothing but overpriced garbage and their techs low paid morons who don't give a damn about their customers, I got rid of them and beefed up my home security the old fashioned way. If you know someone legal who actually works for crime victims, refer this. ADT needs to be shut down!!!! Cash would be nice, Mazen. For lost work, personal possessions.

Stay away
Stay away! Had them come to install a system and when the connection wouldn't work the installer blamed my network then while playing with my modem he ends up messing up the network connections and my whole system went dark. We canceled on the spot and he then damaged or old door bell when installing it. To top it off he did not wear or bring any boot covers in the home which is a big slap in the face to home owners in my book.

This has been a terrible experience. I am in Chucagi and sales person Rios has been terrible. He gave me an estimate by coming but then when installed came they told me that I didn’t have enough equipment. Also the fact that I needed three panels and they can’t be more than 20 feet apart. Then he walks he ll put a siren beside alarm is so soft to reach all building. Promise he ll have everything installed. Collected payment upfront and then he left saying he didn’t have parts. He didn’t test alarm. He was so rude. Left a mess and dust everywhere. Sales representative never answer my call. The installed was wasting time because he said he was paid by the hour. He sat in his truck eating sandwich. And all got taped on video. I ended up paying $700 for equipment. I don’t have a system on and I placed complain on the phone and they said they would call me back me the haven’t. This is unacceptable. I cancel my previous wired alarm for modern ADT wireless and this is a nightmare. They ended up installing two system in each floor. I am stuck paying two monthly fees. This is not acceptable. I need help. I need to escalate this. I took off work and need you with no alarm

If I could have rated zero I would have. I have had ADT by Telus for 2 years and I have had more than 2 dozen technicians out trying to ‘fix’ the system. They never did. I had false alarms every door go offline because of how they were installed and a break in where the glass break failed to alarm. When I contacted them yet again they did NOTHING! They offered to replace the system with a ‘newer’ system (although they installed an old system to begin with) but h would have to sign in for another 3 year contract. I can’t cancel because then I would be in breech of contract. Literally these people don’t care. I have spent 24 or more hours in the iPhone with them - including their retention office (most recently this evening for 65 minutes with ‘Carol’ employee number 393357. It is frustrating and they should be ashamed of themselves. They won’t give you information to allow you to contact an one above them....they say they will out in a complaint and I will be contacted - NEVER happens. This company is a scam. Keep away. I wish I had read more reviews before I had my system placed.

Wants the refund back
I called them months before the contract was up to let them know I could no longer afford them. I asked for the balance and then paid it off. The agent said I over paid and would send me a refund. I received the refund. Then I started receiving phone calls saying I owe them the same amount refunded. I called several times and got different answers from the agents.none of them could explain why they sent the refund and then ask it back. This is so frustrating.

In-person consult / poor customer service
We had ADT out today for what we thought was a quote/consultation. We had to pay $99 before we could have a technician look at our home. We were told on the phone that this would be easily refunded if not interested. The technician, while knowledgeable, came back with a “promotional price” for equipment at $7000. At that price, I said I’d need to think it over and would not be interested in day of installation. At that point, I felt like I was in a car dealership. I was asked what they could do to go forward with the install- the technician was calling and consulting with her manager to see “if there was anything they could do”. It was too expensive quite frankly. So I decided after being pushed/harassed about day of installation, that I didn’t want to work with a company that was so pushy. So I called for the $99 refund I was told wouldn’t be a problem to refund. As stated in the other reviews, the customer service was very, very rude. I was so unimpressed with the consultation and communication, that I decided I would never want to work with a company that operates like a car dealership and turns a blind eye to their multiple customer service shortcomings. With so much competition, ADT will need to step it up in order to stay relevant. They are most certainly not for us!!!

I don't have ADT, but when I moved in the prior residents had a system installed and left it. I called to see about having ADT remove the system and was basically told that there was nothing ADT could do because I don't have an account with them. Very disappointed.

The new Telus ADT is unbelievably bad
The new Telus ADT is unbelievably bad. Customer service takes 60-90 minutes to reach, installation is poor (We had to change our old system for the new Telus system and we've had to have two re-visits and four phone calls.) Clearly Telus thought they were buying a "cash cow" and is not putting any money into customer support or service. Frankly I am getting really tired of "We are experiencing higher than normal call volumes"; that means not enough CS reps!

Cancellation charges
Fees, Fees, Fees. We signed up for ADT service a little less than a year ago. We paid for the installation out of pocket for all of our equipment which was over $700 and was still required to sign a two year agreement. We were transferred for work and chose do to the excessive cost to terminate our service. (It was going to cost us an additional $900 for equipment and again had to sign a two year agreement to transfer our account, then $45 per month). We were told there were two ways to prevent paying the cancellation fee: get new service at your home or if the new home owners signed up with ADT then the fee was waived. Well what they don't tell you is that there is no way to confirm that the new owners signed up for ADT service. We were told second hand that our new owners signed up for ADT service but we were not given credit and required to pay nearly $700 for an early termination fee. Please be aware that I can pay the $700 cancellation fee and sing up for services without a contract with new equipment for less than what I could do if I continued my ADT service. I can't complain about the service but the cost of that service and the service contract is ridiculous especially when I paid for all of my own equipment. Plus, ADT uses independent sells persons and they can each offer you a different plan. So buyer beware.

After being a loyal customer of 6 years. I was treated like I was the problem. ADT is $90 a month for my company. After they called me to upgrade my system it was complimentary from them. Well after this updated system I kept getting automated calls so, I called back and after 3 visits I was charged 26.75 and I didn’t authorize the charge but I accused of authorized charge. They refunded me but it’s principal with me. How I was handled was horrible and mind you I guess the adt team doesn’t specialize in excellence. Perhaps Sandra Stein or Chick fila could help adt learn how to communicate! Bye

Rude
The last 2 times I called at night to customer service, the representatives were unprofessional--rude, sassy, and that 2nd representative I spoke with just abruptly hung up on me. The first person I spoke with prior to these 2 calls was courteous and professional.

Time to end a long term association.
We have had ADT for 31 years. We are finished! There was trust until about five years ago. It has become a real pain in the backside. Competition is a good thing.

They are dishonest and manipulative
Update to my review,ADT contacted me very quickly when I posted my review.I had the service less than three months.I was told from the man proper there was a90 day satisfaction guarantee.I was not satisfied.I was told I signed a contract and to cancel the contract I would have to pay over $1400.I never saw a contract nor did I get copies of said contract . I moved 2 days ago and was told when the original tech came out when I move I can take the equipment with me.how was I supposed to take cameras down on my house? Even when I asked them to come get their equipment they said they would send a service tech out to fix the problem with the cameras. The problem is the entire company. The dishonesty, the manipulation. Where is this contract I supposedly signed?????? When I contacted ADT they were running a special.$99 for installation. I called in and was told I had to pay the $99 upfront but not to worry they will send me a $100 visa card. It has been almost 3 months and I never received a card. The representative that came out then told me that I had to pay a $399 activation fee. However that was not told to me. When I did call into the company the lady that I spoke with told me I did not pay a $399 activation fee that I actually was paying for extra equipment. Also was charged for equipment that I never received. All I received was three cameras and the monitor box. One night the video showed that I had someone standing in front of my house then there was no video for about another 10 minutes. In that 10 minutes my sons bike that was on the side of my home and had a flat was moved to behind my shed. I am assuming that Once they realize the bike had a flat tire they no longer wanted it. However the whole time from when they left the front of my house took the bike and dropped it behind the shed was never caught on video. There have been times that there have been a nine minute pause with no recording when we have went outside in front of the camera.I have called the company and was hung up on 3 times. There is a90 day money back satisfaction guarantee and I think they just don’t want to stand up to their guarantee but I will be reporting this to the bbb as well if not resolved.

ADT is the absolute the worst
ADT is the absolute the worst, I pay $65 monthly for the last 21/2 yrs for camera service that doesn’t work pulse app works if it still in beta phase, I’m over ADT I will tell all my followers do not fck with ADT... customer service is not knowledgeable they just a body to fill the positions. I’m sure they are under paid... so you get what you pay for. I will never recommend this company 👎

I’ve used adt a total of 12 years in two different states. My husband died and I’m forced to move and cancel. I explained I could no longer afford the service and they are charging me a $500 cancellation penalty. So this is how they treat a long term customer . I’ll not only never use them again, but will not refer them and certainly will pursue leaving negative reviews whenever possible. Very bad customer service, hours and products! Almost burned my house down....
Horrible company! My battery got hot, melted and leaked acid in my control panel. Could have burned my house down! I called to get a tech out to visit. I made it very clear that I work an hour from home for a delivery company. My schedule is very difficult to plan something between 9-5 pm monday - Friday.... Stupid hours! Anyways, I scheduled an appointment for today between 12-5pm, they said the estimated time is 4:05 pm, I planned to be home by 3 pm. I got a call at 11:30am saying the tech will be there in 5 minutes! What!! I told him that would not be possible. He said he would contact his manager and reach back out to me because he said my unit could be a hazard. Still have not heard anything..... Very annoyed right now. The customer service is not good....

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! I have an extremely difficult time with getting an operator on the phone. I sat on the phone for 45minutes and was finally able to speak with someone. I asked about my bill, they assured me that I only owed my monthly rate since I paid the installment already. I let them know I changed the card number and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be billed twice and that the bill to be paid would be coming out of the new number that was on file. They assured me that I was properly set up and had nothing to worry about. Today I checked my account and they took the installment payment from the wrong account!! which I have already paid!! The account on file was supposed to be billed. I never agreed to sign up for automatic payments. I called the again to speak with someone and the representative was extremely rude and actually hung up on me!!! WORST Customer service EVER!!! They don't tell you that when you change your card number that you have to wait 30 days before it will be charged!! So now I have multiple payments made from the wrong account and no one to answer for why!! and now I am stuck in a 5 year contract with the worst company ever!!

I wish I could give a zero!
I wish I could give a zero!! Been a customer for 16 plus years, I moved and I wasn’t given the credit I was promised on my new system after spending thousands on the previous. New installation looks like Cracker Jack box equipment, sensors broke on first day, service tech scratched windows, customer service hung up on my twice when I called to ask for help. Horrible horrible customer service, will do anything to get you on then they are out and ignore you!

This incredible POS pulse app is out again. The very stoned or incompetent technical support not only used terms like "Thing" to describe what I should be unplugging but also kept muting her phone and then acted as if she didn't realize she muted the phone or that I had any clue that she muted the phone. Hello??? When you're talking i can hear the TV in the background and then complete silence. One) you're doing a job...shut the tv off. Two) if you are going to be incompetent at least try and hide that fact. Absolutely appalling. Shame on you!

Seriously the worst company I’ve ever…
Seriously the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Nothing but dishonesty and hidden fees. Even when your contract ends and you give them 30 days notice in advance they charge you another month post contract because they require “30 days notice after contract end to cancel. Scam company and equipment is outrageously priced. Customer assistance has been rude every time I’ve ever called and makes everything seem as if it’s your fault. Example-their equipment breaks and they charge $25 to come out and fix or replace it...again...for their own equipment failing.
