From reading reviews I now see our experience not uncommon. Took over alarm from previous tenants, and somehow am on a 3 year contract (for a system that is VERY old). After backup battery replaced stopped working and quoted $1,800 to repair system. Asked to cancel as no longer needed - given the contract cancel treatment. Have tried for months now to have system 100% deactivated with no luck, but are paying for full price on a system that only works on 1 emergency exit!!!!

Unjustified charges after cancellation
I moved from my prior address in december 2021 and I called to cancel service at that time. Recently (march 2023), I noticed charges to my credit card from ADT. My mistake for taking this long to realize it, but I have been quite busy with a lot going on in my life...no excuse for ADT charging me for services. I filed a dispute for the charges for the prior 4 months...as far back as I could go with my credit card. I contacted ADT to get a refund for the rest of the charges. They said that they had no record of me calling to cancel service so they could not refund the other charges. They cancelled my service (again) TODAY. This time I recorded the confirmation number because I didn't want them charging me for another 1&1/2 years of service and then claiming that I had never cancelled. Too bad I did not have the prior confirmation number, but who knows if it would have helped. Funny how she couldn't find me in her system or my account number from my phone number. I had to research to find it because it was so long ago...but their records are so good that they cannot admit to their error and they think it justifies charges for almost a 1 & 1/2 years of service after cancellation. HORRIBLE COMPANY!! MAKE SURE TO KEEP CONFIRMATION NUMBERS FOR CANCELLATIONS.

Awful experience as a new customer
Awful experience as a new ADT customer. Our old alarm company was bought by ADT and we had to pay to upgrade our entire system because ADT said they don’t work with our current equipment. A month later I am now getting billed and charged for the new and old account that was supposed to be deactivated. I spent 3 hours getting passed back and forth with their customer service with no resolution. Would never recommend this company to anyone.

SCAMMERS- UNTRUSTWORTHY
ADT is the most untrustworthy company I have dealt with to CANCEL. After my 3 year contract I was ready to move on from adt and I called to cancel. What did they do to help? They tried pushing me into another contract I said no and they went ahead and signed another contract without my consent and signature. They then tried to charge me a 300 dollar cancellation fee till I told them I was going to get lawyers involved and they finally admitted that the agent did sign a contract without my consent. Long story short after 4 months im finally free from this scamming company. Oh they also over charge everyone cause they wanted to offer me a deal for 19 a month so be aware if you are over paying, they gotcha.

I've had issues with the connectivity…
I've had issues with the connectivity with the ADT pulse app since early last week. I've called numerous times, spoke with many workers. I was advised an update was in progress last week and should be finished by last weekend. I'm still having the problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times to no avail. I'm currently looking at other security providers. I'm tired of wasting my time with ADT.

ADT. Huge disappointment …
I was told the installer was on his way to my house but didn’t show up for 2 hours. Had a problem with my system so someone was to come at 8 am the next day, nobody showed. When someone did finally show I was charged a service fee! Not sure why since it was a problem with their equipment. I have since called 4 times to ask to speak with a supervisor and am told one will call back…5 days later still no call back. I leave my phone number for an automatic call back instead of waiting and I never receive a call back. I have been with them for 14 years but will be taking my business elsewhere. I call to cancel my service but they tell me I have to speak with another department and I get cut off. What a joke.

Mazen. So nice to see you back scamming people and running with the felons once again. I live for the day when ADT will declare BK amidst the plethora of class action lawsuits. Felons eventually get caught and you will be there right with them. You can not steal from people in perpetuity. Every dog has his day. I will live long enough to see this come to pass.

Very deceptive to get you to sign
Very deceptive to get you to sign. I signed with them and when I looked at the cancellation policy I was told that I can cancel with 30 days notice and pay the extra month but when I cancel now I am told that I have to pay the balance of the contract. Probably my fault for listening to the sales person and not getting it in writing. Next time I use a self install system, they are honest and upfront about their policies. they got me this time but never again 5/8/2023 update i agreed to have them move my system to the new home and the saga continues. They show up and have no idea that they were supplying the equipment or it was a transfer. They try to sell me more than I had ordered. They also installed the control panel. At that point the supervisor called and said he couldn't get in touch but they worked it our that i would not have to pay anything BUT I would not get everything I was told I am getting. I help off because I wanted to talk to the company before I moved forward. They had to remove the panel and now I have 4 holes in my new house. It wants the install companies fault it was BullDog security who promised the world but did not come close to providing. I am cancelling everything but i had to call ADT. I tried but there was a 45 minute wait. I opted to have them call me back> I have my doubts I will hear back.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. They charge your card whether or not you authorize it. Complete scam. Have already paid 2k my cameras are not working. They keep running my card. They are a company of thieves.

I can't even use my camera in the…
I can't even use my camera in the house. It freezes up and stops working. I have had to call 5 times in 1 1/2 months to reset it. This is ridiculous. I will be looking for another security system!!!

Terrible customer service! Still no service after 10 days
Terrible..took over the service from our builder who had it installed new a year prior. 4 days later it stopped working. It took 4 calls to be put on the repair schedule. There was a no show, the first time. I had requested a call no one called. The service guy the second time enter the home without me being there. The kitchen is being updated and he walked in and decided to move the transmitter, damage the wall while installing it by the front door. It was previously installed by another ADT person in the basment and worked fine for a year without problems. It’s still not working the service tech left and I have been without service now for 14 days.. a manager was supposed to call back in 3-10 days! The worse experience ever.

Equipment doesn’t work right
Equipment doesn’t work right. Their own staff admits it’s buggy with lots of false alarms. They will not provide updated equipment even though they have it on hand and plan to be on the line with them AT LEAST AN HOUR. Ok, equipment doesn’t work, online help can’t fix, there is no on site service. ADC is too big to handle the job.

PLEASE please beware of this company!
This company and it's customer service is disgusting! Please beware before signing up with them! It is almost impossible to contact their customer service. I have called multiple times during business hours, confirmed details and than get an automated message that they are closed except for business hours- while calling Monday-Friday between 9am-11pm. They will put a payment through MULTIPLE times in one day causing the payment to be declined/frauded and than add fees for non-payment and just add on to it month after month. I have made multiple payments and they do it every time and then refuse to service your residence until it's paid but it's impossible to pay! I have proved I had funds and they don't care. I have been a victim of violent crime and I had someone (with this system in my home active) walk into my home and when I contacted them they transferred me over 6 times to every department including sales when I asked if they could just confirm the time my door sensor went off for a police report and they couldn't tell me yes or no and than told me to get an app which I did and than told me I had to have a technician come out to "activate" the app for me! I contacted chat for help and they told me they couldn't provide customer services email, couldn't cancel my account and COULDN'T have ANYONE call me back! I explained I keep calling and apparently that's just my problem! They will NOT cancel your account/make it impossible to cancel your account. I feel sick every time I try and talk to this sheisty company. It's awful. Please go with SimpliSafe or Ring or literally ANYONE else. EDIT: Spoke to customer service today about issues and cancelation. "Account Manager" was angry with me about my responses to her "questions" and blamed me for several issues and became defensive and angry that I used a swear word (not at her at the way I was treated) and became very frustrated with me immediately before agreeing to cancel my account which apparently they were going to do anyway. Did not care about the multiple issues at all. Please don't use this company. I was so frustrated that I said if I couldn't return the equipment that I would burn it and she was extremely offended at that even though I've had people enter my home and billing issues and horrible customer service for months now. This company does not care about you at all. I recorded the call and am in tears at the complete disregard and lack of empathy these people have. The customer service rep that I had before the manager listened politely and everything but was unable to assist me with anything at all. I already filed a complaint with the BBB and have told all my neighbors who asked me about my system not to do it. This company makes me sick.

I have had ADT for several years
I have had ADT for several years. It is so hard to get to talk to a person no matter what number you call. You just get a recording and told to hit numbers to get to the right person. My house was beeping for 3 days. Finally got to talk to a person and they tried to figure out what my problem was. They told me to change the batteries in my carbon dioxside units. It still did not stop beeping. Finally after 3 days I got someone to help me and made an appointment to have someone come to my home. When the fellow arrived he said I have to replace these because they are out of date. Do you believe that the emergency numbers and speaking to so many people they did not know this. He had to change them all and also change batteries in the units outside my home. I told the people I spoke to that the outside temperature stopped showing up on my key pad. The answer I got they said it doesn't show up, but I said it always had that feature since I signed up with ADT. Long story short this company has very bad customer service to help with problems. The fellow who came to my home was great. He figured it all out and I finally have no more beeping that I had for 3 days. It also cost me $500.00 for all this frustration. I think I will have to get another security service. I would suggest if anyone is looking for a security system, go to someone else.

Hands down shady business stay away run while you can
This company has hands down the worst customer service and products in the world. They can’t retain customers so they lock you in for 3 to 4 years or longer. They don’t care what their customers think of their horrible customer service cause they know your locked into a contract. I spent over $3,000 to install their system and they charge you $60 to fix it when it’s not working correctly, on top of that when they don’t fix it correctly they have the gull to charge you more money to come back and fix it right. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for letting their employees walk all over their customers. Last time I even wanted to buy something from them spent over an hour getting transferred back and forth. Their employees are absolutely incompetent and could care less about the customer experience. I hope out of control companies like this get regulated by the government one day for their shady business practices and bad consumer relations. They’re lucky I’m stuck in a 4 year contract cause I would tell them to kick rocks. Stay away from these con artists, you have been warned!

I would give a 0 if there was a rating . The worst company to deal with and cheat customer and fleece them. Horrible service. The sensors didn’t work for over 6 months and they charge me 400$ for cancellation of the contract. I have sent an email to the id given below. The second time I going through a similar situation where the builder D R Horton put in this equipment through safe haven again. Within a couple of months started having issues again . It took a month for them to send a technician out but luckily it was within 3 month so did not have to pay. The equipment is faulty first it kept raising the temperature even though the target temperature was set low . It seemed to work for few days But again there are two issues 1. The radio button is not working 2.malfunctioning device. Spent hours on the phone and finally they want to charge me 60$ to send a technician out . It’s hardly been 4 months and having to deal with this .

We tried to schedule a service call in March. First call: ADT tried to resolve by doing a software update. The update did not work. Second call: tried to schedule a technician to come to the house. That was not in ADT's plan. They wanted to do a virtual call. We said no way. Third try: finally get a technician to the house. But guess what? The job couldn't be completed at the time of service. Scheduled a call for April 14. Shame on me for expecting ADT would actually show up. No such like. No being rescheduled to April 21. Who knows if they⁸

I contracted ADT to add cameras and control panels along with door sensors. It has only been a couple of weeks the panels have had to be replaced and now one of my new cameras are off line. Also I noticed I have been billed an extra $125 a month for three months just in case things break. When I questioned ADT billing I was told to read the fine print. Then when the repair man did show they charged me a $60 trip fee just to step in to see why the alarms were going off all night leaving me countless alerts, because of their faulty system. Can’t recommend them to anyone.

Crappy equipment
Crappy equipment, works when it wants to. Called after the equipment malfunctioning several times to cancel service and they want to charge me $4,000.00. First malfunction was the control panel, it went off every 30 seconds until we figured out how to turn it off. And then it alarms randomly with no clear reason. Next one of the cameras send us a thousand pictures a day or doesn't work. They sent a repair man out "free of charge" and after not hearing from them during the scheduled time of the repair from 8 am to 12 pm. We left for a scheduled appointment, and they charged us because we were not home, repair man showed up at 12:48 pm, and the fee was $63.43. Calling them is a nightmare, 1+ hours being switched between departments.

Disappointed.
I looked into ADT on April 10. I didn’t qualify due to credit check, so I was given the option to pay upfront. ADT rep Robert Lockett (NSC) rep ID 160746554 walked me through some products and even gave some real good discounts. My total cost upfront was for $431 and that included professional installation of a Google nest camera, wireless panel, 3 sensors and 1 motion detector. During the set up process Robert told me my monthly payment would be $59 for 36 months. I accepted and signed the contract he emailed. April 11 I get a call from ADT to confirm my installation. Person says I see that you are annually and you’ll have to make your payment for $779 once the technician arrives. I said wait a minute I’m paying monthly and she says ok just let the tech know and he’ll make the change for you. April 13. Tech shows up we do a walkthrough of the home talk about the equipment and installation process. Which by the way great tech awesome and professional. Anyway, it comes down to where I have to pay $779 I explain to him and he says ok let me call it in. ADT rep says after checking customer is annually didn’t qualify for monthly. So obviously I’m not paying $779 upfront and I tell the tech I’m canceling. Rep Robert Lockett failed to explain this to me. Due to his lack of knowledge he waisted my time, the technicians time, and company time. The tech could have been out on a service call instead of wasting his time here because of Robert would have explained to me, hey you didn’t qualify for monthly you’ll have to pay annually I would’ve said no. But Robert didn’t want to be short of a sale and decided to inconvenience me by failing to communicate that important info. I know that Robert knew I didn’t qualify and that’s why he didn’t mention it to me. He knew the annual option was going to be a turn down. I was really looking forward to ADT. I had to call and request a refund which I didn’t want to do cause they seem like a good company but oh well it is what it is. I won’t judge the whole company for one unprofessional person. Hopefully ADT can listen to these type of calls and improve their reps on fully explaining it how it is.

I called to cancel an account and they kept transferring me to different agents and they kept putting me hold. I was transferred to 10 different agents before finally reaching an account manager who then tried to give me 2 months free to keep the account and when I said no he hung up in my face. Worst customer service I ever saw in my life

Worst alarm company
Worst alarm company. My battery went dead, and they FedEx the customer one to change themselves even though that's what they are paid to do. You will have to sign in to your ADT account to facilitate the process, but if you forget your username and password, they will not email you the requested reset link. You will call them to report the issue, but there is no option for account problems, and you will be on hold for over a half hour anyway. Bye bye , ADT.
