RIP-OFF since 2014 - 2023 SERVICE START.
On September 2023 (2 days before my mom's funeral), a thief broke in the house through the window (no sensors), stole mom's flat screen TV and had time to get away out the front door also. The tech NEVER installed window sensors nor an outside "BULL HORN" to alert the neighborhood, like I requested. Common sense shows there are 2 main entrances to ANY house. That be the DOORS & WINDOWS. ALL the money I paid into this company since 2014 (after my dad passed away), my mom was NEVER protected!!! 😡😡😡 It was ONLY by the SUFFICIENT GRACE of God Jehovah, (NOT ADT), my mom was protected before she got sick. I DO NOT recommend this company to protect your family or house.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but I have nothing good to say about ADT, except their sales process was very slick. We have had non stop false alarms and to get hold of anybody is a nightmare, non stop computer generated voice responses, then ultimately get told there’s a 40 minute wait.
If I could I’d tear the whole system out and throw it in the river. Only reason I have it is for insurance.
If you looking at getting a security system go to another smaller, more human outfit.

I can’t wait until my contract is over with this company. It over picks up any of my recordings. ADT me extremely dissatisfied. Their customer service is dreadful, with long wait times and unhelpful representatives. The installation process was a disaster, with a late and unprepared technician leaving a messy setup. The system's sensors constantly triggered false alarms, causing frustration. On top of that, the monthly monitoring fees were exorbitant for subpar service. Skip ADT Security and explore better options. Not worth the time, money, or frustration.

CUSTOMER BEWARE...ADT practices are becoming unethical!!!...EVERY POOR REVIEW, I just read, sums up exactly how we feel. We pity their employees.. that have to explain the lies that this company inflicts upon its unsuspecting customers..such as, enrolling customers without permission in auto pay system, and tricking customers into paying random charges. In home technical support is practically non-existent, because, as ADT explains... it's the direction they are going in now. It wasn't always like this..we've been customers nearly 5 years, but plan to dump their service asap. A person's home security system, and peace of mind, is not something to be trifled with. Wake UP ADT...you are going in the wrong direction..just read your reviews, and listen to the recorded customer service calls you are receiving!

Stay far away. They sold me a self set up equipment and they could not get me activated. After a week of back and forth I returned everything. Their customer service is horrible. They will transfer you numerous times and to the wrong department. I contacted corporate and their CEO and they do not care about customers personally. No manager called me directly. They just kept messaging me through their Facebook Business page and they kept saying I have to keep waiting 24-48 hours for every issue you have. Then when I cancel the contract I asked for proof of a cancellation receipt and they told the cannot provide one and to use the emails conversation I had with the complaint department. Very unprofessional. It is a trap. Stay away.

Can’t wait to cancel this trash service. Sold me the cameras with lies, have me on FaceTime fixing the system every time something goes wrong (which is every month or so), and good luck speaking to a representative. All you’ll get is automatic recordings, and when they finally call you, representatives just circle your case around for weeks until you desist.

If I could I'd give them no stars. I have done business with them since I bought my first house in 2010. Well they have been charging me on that same house even AFTER I moved my home and household with them in 2020. So they have been double dipping and I thought I got it resolved and here they are calling me every day and when I answer I'm on the phone trying to get them to take my name off that account and being transferred from one person to another. NOW THEY SENT MY ACCOUNT TO COLLECTIONS! if I could get rid of them I would.

This the most lying services I seen , they lie to you so can agree on a contact they don't tell you that you cant cancel and if you do they will charge you the whole amount at once . I told them I'm going on disability they still couldn't cancel .

Originally set up adt in 2020. Near the end of the contract my "panel" battery started beeping. Called and for a replacement that was supposed to be covered in the "maintence" plan
4 months later I had to go purchase the battery @ a cost of $83 @ Batteries Plus, since adt couldn't/wouldn't send one. At that time I stopped the autopsy, hoping to get a call from someone about the system. 4 months later Aug/Sept. 2023 started receiving collection calls on the acct. My contract expired in Aug 2023, so I was no longer in a contract. Kept charging the acct the $59.99 anyway. Fast forward to Nov 2023, called to talk about the acct and agreed to reinstate the system, only if the past due was waived, wiped out. Was lied to by rep, reinstated the service, tech came out to reinstall the system Nov 8th. Paid the first payment.
NOW Dec 27th they are saying that they couldnt/wouldn't have waived the past due, and when I attempted to cancel the new plan they want to charge me for the 3 years of the new contract that started Nov. 8th
They will say or do what ever it takes to make the sale and then say sorry that someone LIED to you from THEIR company but you still owe it. My attorney has been notified and will pursue whatever course to NOT pay this account. Use ANY other service other than ADT they are liars and crooks !!!!
WARNING: BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT
ADT Security’s customer support would not take my request to order batteries for my bedroom window sensors (4), which has resulted in my ADT security system not working for my entire home. I could not provide three forms of identification to the service rep and we kept going around in circles without any resolve. I asked the service rep if he would take my bank routing information, but he kept going back to asking for 3 forms of identification, which I answered two out of the three and could not remember my password because I rarely ever call ADT Security. The service rep said he notified his supervisor at my request, but learned he was in a meeting and would call me back in one hour. The person never called me. I have a security system that does not arm because of the bedroom sensors are not responding. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2008, and consistently paid my monthly balances on time. I want to terminate this truly bad service. i have no confidence in ADT Security monitoring their accounts as one would expect, if they can’t assist a customer’s request to obtain sensor batteries so their system works.

The service itself wasn’t bad- the problem is the fraud they try to pull on the billing angle. I brought my issue all the way up to the CEO and instead of eating the mistake HIS company made while I was transferring my services to a new address after a move…he conned me into giving my information and charging me for equipment for which I have multiple recordings from multiple conversations of ADT employees advising me to leave EQ and it will be new and installed at the new address. I made this clear- all employees I talked to admitted fault and said it would be taken care of. They overdrew my account over 2k. Then decided to refund that by opening a new account and charging me for EQ I do NOT have and they refuse to install at the new address. Also this new charge is over 3x the amount I paid at the previous address… The people at the top are a work of art. They have no regard for customer service and make it clear they only care about their money. They really need a lesson in ethics. I will be switching once this is sorted.

The employees act annoyed to be at your house showing you how the system works. They give you one visit to set up the system and do not tell you that's it is a $100 to come back if you did not get it the first time.
When I called to ask for help they transferred me 12 times and hung up twice. Then never bothered to show up for the appointment.
ADT Makes it almost impossible to cancel their service.
I moved and just wanted to transfer my service. I was towed that I would still have to pay for the equipment because you’re not allowed to take it with you? And since I was selling my home, the only way to recoup the money would be to have the person who bought it get ADT. The person I talk to was so focused on getting me a new ADT account because you can’t keep the same contract when you move which is ridiculous. She told me I would be able to work out something with the leftover contract payment which was over $900. This was lie #1.Few weeks later they took the $960 out of my account without my consent. I called and was told by three different reps that I would be able to get my money back, lie #2, but they kept having me call like the next day or three days later. And that was only the reps who could speak English. I spoke to so many reps sometimes they would hang up and a few times I called the phone would ring, and no one would answer, or it would ring and be hung up immediately . One of the reps English was so poor. I had to spell three times the phone number I was calling from meaning I had to spell out l the number two the number three because he was not understanding. If they look at the recorded calls, they will see that I was promised to get this money back several times. One rep told me the only way they could give me my money back was if I didn’t cancel my current contract, #3. Which is what I really wanted to do after such a horrible ordeal. And I’m not even including all the times, I called and was put on hold for 30 or more minutes .

Five Years of Loyalty Means Nothing to These Scammers
I am appalled at how ADT is treating me after my five years of loyalty. On December 7th, a Brinks tech misrepresented themselves and told me there was a merger with ADT, and they will be upgrading my equipment at no cost to me. It wasn't until after I signed the paperwork and ADT contacted me that I realized what happened. Luckily there was a three-day window to cancel without penalty the agreement I erroneously made with Brinks / Skyline Security. It is deeply troubling that while the scammers came swiftly in and out of my life, my attempts at remaining loyal to ADT have been an ongoing struggle for weeks. It has felt like pulling teeth trying to resolve this.
I am a single woman living in the City of Atlanta, and I have been without coverage since Dec. 7th because of ADT dragging their feet and feeding me incorrect information at every turn. For weeks it has taken multiple attempts at being on hold for 45 - 60 min. to get an appointment with a tech or speak to someone from customer support. I have to explain my situation repeatedly to each person I speak with. The last tech who came out told me that he could not move forward with my service until I paid him $89, and he confirmed with his supervisor that there was no way around it, so I had to send him away. This was AFTER I was promised that I would not have to pay on-site, and the tech should be able to bill it to my account which will be credited. This is a season when home invasions are high, and the stress of not being protected on top of having to repeatedly plead my case has done irreversible damage. I have had to take time away from my job to accommodate ADT multiple times to no avail. Even my initial tech appointment was rescheduled almost a week out due to ADT's insufficient staffing, so on three separate occasions I have taken off from work for four-hour blocks and still, nothing has been resolved.
On many occasions I told Customer Support and even legal when they briefly reached out that I am not in the position to pay $89, especially for a tech to connect a wire and a screw into my wall, a job that takes 10-15 minutes max as I have witnessed before. This is based on how long it took Brinks to swap out my panels during their scam--I have the original panel, and the wires are sticking out of my wall still. I contacted an account manager, and she assured me that ADT would cover the costs in an effort of good-faith for all of my trouble, so we rescheduled for this morning. Yet, today ahead of my scheduled appointment, I received more contrary messaging via text message to what I have been reassured of so far.
This morning I spent more than 1 hr. with a woman who tried everything that she could to retain me. Evidently someone is explicitly lying to us about how long this appointment is estimated to take in order to maximize their profits. She relayed that they would need more time than the FOUR HOUR window to reconnect my panel. As I mentioned before, everything is already in the wall, the wires are exposed, and I still have my original panel that is ready for installation. It baffles me that Brinks is able to switch out a panel in 10 minutes while ADT requires many hours. This is another example of ADT's commitment to both stall and scam their customers.
The icing on the cake is that I am now being told I entered into a six-year contract (huh??) in 2018 which doesn't end until 9/22/24 (how convenient), so now I owe the following because I am cancelling:
Remaining balance: $231.77
Cancellation fee: $140.22
For clarity, last week an account manager told me that my contract is ending, and she made a GREAT offer for me to extend it by three years. I declined and told her that we could revisit that conversation once I ensured that all would be resolved by ADT at no additional cost to me. Why would she tell me that and make that offer if I am contractually bound for another 9 months? There has been zero accountability for the piles of misinformation I have received. Every step of this process has made evident ADT's desperation for money--lying strategically, jerking hard-working people around and shaking us down by any means necessary. Each person I spoke with told me what I wanted to hear to try and keep my business, and then I had to repeat the process with each new call and advocate for myself all over again. I am exhausted from ADT's abhorrent treatment towards me, and I am stressed about my home not being protected and my safety being jeopardized. ADT is shamelessly fraudulent, and I am positive that there are many more loyal customers like myself who are trying to mitigate a similar experience. I will tell everyone I know about how I was treated by ADT.

Go with any other alarm company! Our alarm system goes off at all hours and hasn't worked properly in months and they refuse to cancel my contract. You would be better off with any other company that cares about customers because they certainly do not!!!! Run fast!
After one month security cameras…
After one month security cameras stopped working and all they do is sent me trouble shooting guides to the wrong camera's and when I call they say its not there equipment and they will have to charge me hundreds of dollars to sent a tech to come and and fix it. They said not there equipment not their problem.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This company is like dealing with the crummy used car salespeople. The fine print and nickel and diming is disgusting. My experience with their security system itself was poor at best. I had to have service people come to my house 5 separate occasions, for 2-4 hours at a time to service my system. By the time I got to the 5th visit, even though issues kept happening after they left, I was so tired of scheduling visits with service people that I just stopped using the service all together. It beeped for no reason, they couldn't figure out the problem. I decided it was time to cancel, and I called to do so and the experience was equally terrible. They run you around, the sales people are pushy, the contracts are extremely strict, and the service is bad. Never, ever using ADT ever again.

If I could give ADT no stars I would. I wish I would have read the reviews before going with them. First off , you cant even get on the camera's cause they take forever to load up,and most time tells you certain camera's aren't available. ( God forbid we have a brake in) 2 we are moving and giving us a hard time about taking them down so we had to have ADT hire someone which cost us 400.00 and we have to leave the pad behind ( which is about 500.00 dollars just for the pad) . 3 they have lawsuits going on because their techs have gone in and spyed on their customers. I would do your research before buying anything from this company. They rob you blind and are no help at all when dealing with issues. Try and put your own camera's in , instead of dealing with a company.

My alarm keep beeping in the middle of the night. This happens everytime in the winter time. I've replaced battery with the proper voltage. I called about this before and complained to costumer service to which they can see about my system to be told that they will charge me a $50 fee for a technician to come and see what's wrong is crazy plus I been with this company for 7 years where the loyalty at for long time costumers.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. I have called them 30+ times in the last month trying to change our service. I get transferred 4+ times a call. They would let me take my system to my new address and made me purchase another. Even after canceling 3 times, I still had to call and cancel after being charged for two systems. They said I void my contract so I would have to pay 2600. But would waive 2000 since I have a new ADT system. Making me pay for the equipment left behind ***THAT I COULD NOT TAKE WITH ME AND THEY DONT WANT IT BACK**** Their words. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING I CANT KEEP AND YOU DONT WANT!?! I'm at the point where I am going to cancel or my card on file just so someone will call me. DO NOT USE THEM.

Very bad experience with ADT
I signed up for service to try it out. The house I purchased already had all equipment. After trying I did not feel the service was needed. Called to cancel and was told the agreement was for 3 years and would have to pay $1000 to cancel. I was never told this and would have never agreed to this. If I am going to pay $53 a month then I am going to make sure I let everyone know how they do business
