If I could give zero stars I would!
If I could give zero stars I would. Three year contract that was 2000 dollars. Multiple false alarms, had to pay the city two different times after the 5th false alarm. Glass break detector would go off while the dogs chewed their bones on the tile floor. DOORS would be open and the system would think they were shut. The pulse app would take so long to load up that I could not deactivate my alarm in time and have my ears blown out of socket. I called multiple times to set up cancellation and was told 3 different things by 3 different illiterate reps. Now they have charged me two months past my contract and say it’s my fault!?! Yes it’s better to have it and not need it, but this was the worst company to deal with while having it!

They just want money every month
They just want money every month! The service has gone way down, so it’s not worth the monitoring. You would be better off using a system that you monitor. It’s cheaper and more convenient. Stay away from ADT!

ADT service has gone steadily down hill…
Updated reply Wow! That is the fastest response I got from ADT in awhile. Funny you can respond to my criticism- but cannot answer a call for help in which my system is not working. How about you put some more staff on the tech lines rather than your marketing lines and call me back about why my system is offline. ADT service has gone steadily down hill as their rates continue to rise. It is impossible to get ahold of technical support on a weekend and their suggestions to use their chat service is a joke considering it is closed on the weekends as well. I am actively looking for another provider, because ADT is simply not the company it used to be sadly.

I had adt installed along with 3 cameras. These cameras do not have night vision. Everything is completely black at night. The only camera that I can see at night is the one by the light. I was told I have to install lights around the house in order to see the cameras. I truly believe they need to upgrade their equipment. I requested a cancellation within 3 days. Still awaiting for their response. All of the sudden the cameras are not working during the day. Very dissatisfied.

ADT CCJ (COUNTY COURT JUDGMENT) BLACK MARK
Void this security company at all costs. I purchased an alarm system from ADT on the assumption this is a reputable security business. The alarm system has been detective and intermittent from day one. The customer service and solution teams have NOT returned any of my complaint calls. I pay a monthly subscription charge of £33 pounds for these services too. I wrote 3 letters of complaint — recorded delivery — to Managing Director. I finally received an apology email from the head of complaints 4 months later. With the audacity to inform me I was NOT entitled to a refund for a detective product and horrendous customer service. With no surprise, ADT FAILED to respond to a small claims court summon's to retrieve £2.5k. Because, ADT failed to respond to a court request I then actioned a CCJ in accordance to UK law. I spoke with the head of complaints on 2 July 2020 about the serious implications a CCJ would have on ADT’s credit file. Guess what - he hasn't come back to me yet. ADT will have a County Court Judgement registered on file with all UK credit agencies in the next few days. So if you are looking to protect your home, family or property, then void ADT and go elsewhere. The case continues…

ADT does a terrible job of handling charges
I signed up with ADT 06/19 as my equipment with Vivint needed to upgraded. ADT assured me there was no cost for installing equipment, just monthly fee. Initial installation cost me $2500 of equipment, I needed "upgraded equipment". I then sold my home 01/20. ADT came and took out equipment, putting same equipment back in but somehow I incurred an additional $3000 charge for equipment. Then I continued to get doubly charged from 02/20 to 05/20, a charge for my new and old home. I have made more than 10+ calls and have yet to be refunded the money ADT owes me.

This has been a terrible experience
This has been a terrible experience. They sold my family products for my home security system. Put it in the contract. The installer told us he didn't have any flood sensors on the truck and would return. They Never returned, never returned our calls. I spoke with adt, they said there is nothing we can do about it. Would not refund our money and basically they said to bad. I wrote senior management with no response. Should research companies before hiring. I made a big mistake with them. I have heard alot of bad about this company.

This is a terrible company defenders-ADT to deal with. We have been in contract with them for 3 years now and when we have moved to a different location taking our equipment with us. This process is painful and lengthy. Neither company knows what they are doing. They bounce you back and forth between each other for hours. Save your money and go with a different company or monitor it yourself. Their service has always been terrible. We only stayed with them due to a very expensive contract break. Do not listen to their promises of gift cards and promotions. It's a lie. We never received any of the perks promised initially. We were exhausted attempting to get what was owed to us. We had reference numbers as everything. It doesn't help. This company is so disorganized. I don't have any faith in the monitoring either. I have had multiple instances where my alarm was triggered, and a call should have been placed to the police and myself. Neither happened. If you want to be nickel and dimed to death this is your company. If you like promises that are lies this is your company. If you love your valuable time to be ripped from you every time you interact with them, this is your company. STAY away from this sham of a monitoring company. You're safer with ANY other company.

ADT locks you in Contracts
ADT is a scam. They have so many contracted people that you are NEVER dealing with anyone that works directly with ADT. Customer service are contracted. Technicians are contracted. Meaning, if a technician comes to your house, they have the ability to charge you WHATEVER becuase they do not directly work for ADT. Your contract says ADT. Customer literally know NOTHING about the services or devices that you are given. The contract (which we were told was not a contract) locks you in. Well played ADT, well played with calling it something different. If you read the contract carefully, ADT can stop services and cancel the contract at any time for ANY reason. However, the purchaser (consumer) owes the full term of the contract if the purchaser wants out of the contract. Even if its for not fulfilling the contract services. Well played ADT. Their door sensors fall off because they are held on with tape. Their control panel tablet they give you malfunctions all the time and NO one from customer service knows what it is. Stay away from ADT. They literally have a "Deceptive Sales Team Department" for the sales team that lie. I wish i could make this up. I expect to get one of those stupid little messages at the bottom saying "We are sorry for you experience. Please email us, we would like to hear your issues".

Horrible company to deal with.I called to speak to a supervisor and was told they refused to take my call I was charged almost 600.for a new panel that they said would be free of charge.The new panel does not work and they are calling me to set up a new appt.Which i will not let them in my house ever again!!

I am 15 and they say they can’t provide services to me cause I am not 18 and a percent needs to say they can but none was home so then I said that’s why we don’t use them then they replayed because we don’t provide services to minors then ended chat. No that’s not why the reason is Th at they are not welling to help. Don’t trust them mostly if under age 18 and you need help. Others no matter your age as long as you are not to young and know what you are doing are willing to help you... you just need to find them.

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Contract was totally misrepresented to me and key details of the agreement were not made apparent or clear upfront. They expect $2000 for me to cancel equipment that doesn’t work and despite two trouble shooting sessions they still insist a “technician” must determine if the system works. Who do they think tried to fix it? This is one big scam where you’re pressured to sign dishonest paperwork and the situations in their notes are completely misrepresented. I was forced to upgrade a pre existing panel being told it wouldn’t affect anything but then put me down as a completely new install which locked me into a contract. I already had a panel and sensors so it was simply an activation. These guys just get it wrong and then punish you for their dishonesty. Stay far away

Constant Rate Increases
Don't let the semi-reasonable initial pricing and offers fool you. Over a two-year period small rate increases through sporadic emails will come through. The once $1-2 increase has amounted to nearly $15 within the contract term. Also review and understand your contract, they were charging for a service plan that was included in the original deal. It is better to deal with a company that has much more integrity rather than dealing with the car dealership tactics ADT has chosen to employ.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Do not trust. Advertised your equipment go with you if you move but found out hard way it actually included additional cost of $200+ because “equipment not up to grade “ (equipment they provided less than 1.5 years ago). Plus they lock you into contract not apparent except in small print. I opted to pay $500+ “for breaking contract” rather than continuing with such a dishonest company.

We have ADT for more then 15 years
We have ADT for more then 15 years. We were very pleased with the service until we downgrade our service. We had ADT Pulse but it was getting so expensive, we decided to go back to basic. I remember calling back in August 2018 to down grade and also renew our contract. We were supposed to be locked in $25 dollars a month for 60 months. They for sure downgrade our service and I did pay $25 for 1 month and they have been charging me $41. I contacted ADT about this but because of it was all done over the phone, there is no way to prove it. I remember when you call it always says the conversation is being recorded but it never did 24 months to go and will no go with ADT ever again.

Never again! Save your money. They tried canceling my installer twice I wouldn’t let them. Finally he showed up at 9pm didn’t want to show me how to use the alarm system told me to “google” the owners manual to figure it out. I set up a contract for only 6 months knowing I was moving and called to verify my account was ending on the sixth month then they told me they would be charging me another month because I didn’t cancel a 6 month contract a month before it was already going to end. This is shady practice and ADT knows it. Very dissatisfied with my experience and the agent on the phone who was supposed to help me get a refund was also not useful and allowed me to not send the right information to cancel the service for the 7TH MONTH on my 6 MONTH contract. What a disgrace of a company. ****update**** July 15, 2020 Yes I am positive I had a 6 month contract. Everyone reading this reply from ADT should be worried that their own representatives don’t know what they offer. Nice attempt at discrediting my review.

ADT ... Another Dollar Thanks.... Cancelled service after poor customer experience and money hungry servicing. Still waiting on pro-rata refund for services not rendered which unfortunately is currently sitting with Office of Fair Trade and my legal counsel to navigate with this company. Very poor particular during hard financial times.

We had ADT for 10 years
We had ADT for 10 years. Primarily because we did not want the hassle of setting up the hardwares with a new company. For 10 years, the monthly cost went up without any new features provided to us. During the same time, we see the digitization of home security (mobile app, video monitoring, recording features etc) happening all around us. Nothing to keep existing customer from 10 years who is loyally paying the bills satisfied. Finally, we got tired and called to close the account. And guess what, they require 30 days to close the service which means you have to pay for 30 days from the day you cancel for services you do not use. This tells a lot about the company and the way they operate. This is the last time we will ever try ADT. If they do not change the practice and adapt to the new world, this will be another company that will bite the dust.

ADT Reply says; reach out to us at from an email address alwaysthere Has anyone tried this address to get service? Is it a second version of useless "Call customer service" reply? I have no trust in ADT and replies. ADT dont ask individuals to give their detail to you. Instead change and improve your service for ALL customers. You are responsible from the equipment you have installed whether you monitor or dont monitor the equipment. Provide service with service charge for those you are not monitoring, but for God's sake stand behind your equipment and provide service to all of us. These equipment involve electricity. Your ignorance could cause hazard to people who have unfortunately become your customer. If anyone has used the email address ADT provided please write a review to say whether you received help or no help.

This company is a JOKE
Totally disappointed!!This company fails to deliver on its promises. We updated to ADT Pulse and we had an outdoor camera installed. The outdoor camera is a joke, it continues to jump "offline" for no reason. I have contacted the company on several occasions to see if they can give me some sort of explanation, and all I got was "you have to unplug and plug the outdoor camera in whenever it jumps offline" The whole point of us having the outdoor camera installed was to have an added peace of mind knowing that our personal property is protected when we're not home, well how can we feel protected if the camera continuously jumped to "offline". When I go to look at captured video clips, I'm praying the whole time that the outdoor camera has done what it is "supposed" to do, to my dismay, it has not. And oh by the way, the outdoor camera can be offline for weeks at a time. Do yourself a favor, if your thinking about getting a home security system so you can feel safe, go in the opposite direction because this company is NOT going to deliver on their promises!! Save your money, ADT has become a joke.
When we originally signed up with ADT, we paid extra to have all the wiring installed behind the walls and out of sight. We had numerous communication problems with the system since we got it. It seemed to be one thing or another consistently. We purchased the best service plan at the time it was installed. All we got was excuses and very poor service. But this last time was a complete joke. The repairman drilled holes in our wall and left wire hanging out. What he did looks like a very unskilled technician did the job. We contacted ADT on the same day shortly after he left. They said "someone would be calling us back right away to resolve the problem." Their time table must be totally different from ours. We expected it to be an hour or two not a day or two later. We still have not heard from them. We were going to update our system to the new Pulse system, but now we are going to update our system with a whole new company. ADT has become a joke. I would strongly recommend people to save their money and avoid this company if they want a good, reliable alarm system because ADT has become a joke. I will be posting videos of their very unskilled workmanship on numerous sites for people to see and to warn their future customers.

The WORST customer service I have EVER experience
After being robbed, my housemates and I turned to ADT for safety. However, we felt even more violated as they took advantage of our vulnerability and exploited us for more services while being deceitful about additional installation fees and increased monthly fees. When we called to ask to have the additional services removed, we were patronized and laughed at by their customer service representative. In addition, the worker sent to install the system removed his mask in our household, putting all of us at risk in our own home. I would not recommend ADT's services to ANYONE. They were careless, rude, and clearly did not care about the quality of their service.
