I wish I can give it a 0 out of 10. Unfortunately, the one star will do. I've been with ADT for almost a year and a 1/2. Last year I had absolutely no issues with automatic payments. Since June of 2023, I've been having issues. I have spoke to them every single month about taking money out of my bank, and they said that they fixed the automatic payments, but they didn't. Unfortunately, I would like to cancel with them. But they blindsided me when I signed up with them. They said there was no contract, and they lied, and now there is. The customer service is the worst that I have ever experienced. They don't listen to what you say. They transfer the call, so they don't have to deal with you anymore. And try speaking to a supervisor is like finding a hay in a needle stack. I do not recommend this company to anybody. I have never had a company that does not give an email or text message about payment being declined. This company gaslights you Saying that they don't send out emails or text messages when your payment has declined. So you need to figure it out on your own. Please save your money and go to ring instead. They are a lot cheaper. And you don't have to deal with this run around.

I have had you guys for 6 months and by far the worse you have changed my date my bill is due taken money out of my account after I was suppose to get credit due to my system not working I have had google try and help me and adt and the technician come out to my house and they can't figure out what's wrong I hate the system the customer service sucks and I just want to finish paying my stuff off and be done with you guys I am looking for a lawyer I have way to many videos on my system not working and adt has failed to help me

I could write a book on the endless mistakes, lack of knowledge/training I encountered trying to upgrade our ADT system! Absolutely horrific in every way! Nothing was done correctly. I had initially called for batteries. Was sent a mix of door and motion batteries. Evidently they can not tell my needs as I have 7 french doors and 3 motion detectors. They sent 4 motion and 3 doors. Then I called to have an overall upgrade/assessment of our present system as I wanted to add cameras The agent said no one could do this unless our home was over 4,000 sq.ft. Mine is. I also told agent I would gladly pay for technician’s time to come to my home and advise me of our needs. (they did this years ago). But, no. So, a remote agent via telephone who had never seen our home queried me and told me what I needed for an update. What a mistake! A nightmare. My home is lovely. The camera installed in a flood light changed the lighting configuration of our architect designed home. We paid an electrician to take it down after a few days and it is boxed. A gaping 6x8 hole was left in my house where a panel was moved to another wall. I want to write more— the endless hours waiting on phone to get help, receiving inconsistent explanations, or perhaps even lies from ignorant agents.The stress of dealing with ADT can not be minimized. ADT should be ashamed of their abysmal service, etc. We no longer trust to set our alarm. I finally called our bank to disallow ADT from receiving payments— which we were also lied about. Different amount are withdrawn from my account each month at their will. I assume this is their attempt to capture as much money as they can before we terminate. I pray that the endless hours of recorded conversations are archived. In court, ADT would be ordered to pay us for their incompetence, negligence, absolute direct lies, damage to our lovely home, incorrect product description, and especially for the worry, stress, and precious time wasted trying to get answers and help. Hey, and all over the happy Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays!! We are honorable people. This is the first review of any product I have ever written. I have barely touched the surface of the horrendous and upsetting ordeal we have had with our “new” ADT. Let me add this last note as a plus for ADT: our old system with the company which we have had for nearly 30 years was flawless. Worked perfectly. Never a complaint.
Another Example of Poor Service
In April of 2023 we paid $200 to have all the batteries replaced in our system. We are both older adults and were tired of ADT telling us we could do our own changing. It is not easy for us to go out hunting batteries, etc. Today, November 1, a window battery went out. We called ADT and it took over 30 minutes to get a live person, who spoke so fast in a heavy accent that it was difficult to understand her. I had to constantly ask her to repeat and speak slowly. She informed me that she would tell me how to check the battery and change it. I am partially sighted and told her that I could not see well enough to do it. She put me on hold, and I waited and waited for her to return. I finally just hung up and gave it up as a lost cause. To my surprise she finally called back with no explanation as to why she had taken so long. She then told us that a technician could come by on November 6 to locate the problem, almost one week in the future. This is typical of the so called service that we have received from ADT over the last serveral years of 20 years.
Do not subscribe to ADT
THIS is the WORST COMPANY I have ever subscribed to. They are literally trying to not allow me to cancel my service. Do not subscribe to ADT because customer 'service' tries very hard to NOT ALLOW cancellation. They do not allow you to cancel online, they put you on hold for over one hour, and when a human FINALLY answers, the rep ignores your request to simply "cancel my service" and instead goes on and on and on and on about "the safety of your family" etc etc. I honestly think I have to get a lawyer to make them cancel my service. ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING
Worst service and customer service…
Worst service and customer service EVER. The sales agent sold me a product which after 5 times of me asking at the very least he still sold it to me telling me it would work. Well it doesnt and I paid for upfront system. I call the account manager Charlie who will make sure to “follow policy” and did not refund me though they made the mistake. I then had to go without a security system. Charlie acted like she cared but never took care of the customer by even mentioning in the unlikely even you are broken into at your home was some of the comments. Best parts is this home has been broken into 3 times. They dont care and I was not able to get another system either. Fun all around. Not thee to help. There to sell!!!

ADT customer service is HORRIBLE
ADT customer service is HORRIBLE! When you call you are on hold for hours. Then, a recorded message asks if you want them to call you back. You press the number for them to call you back. It gives you a timeframe of 45 minutes. You wait for the call. The calls never come. These callbacks never happen.
I saw a Rider Contract that ADT created on my account for equipment I never received. They used a digital signature from over 2 years ago and dated it. I didn't tell them to do this. Every time I asked specific questions the customer service representative tried to sidestep my questions. I brought him back each time to my specific questions that I never got answers to. To date, I have never received a callback.
When I asked different customer service representatives how to access the videos from my doorbell and front-placed camera- they didn't know. My word why don't they ask someone in leadership to assist them so they can help me? They said leadership would call me back. I never received that call either. I went online to try and help myself. I wasn't able to find directions for this. Horrible experience.
Worst experience EVER
I have had the worst experience of my entire life with this company. I cannot say enough horrible things about it. I was manipulated into signing contracts, was once given 6 (I repeat SIX!!) different numbers when trying to get in touch with “ADT pro” and all of them were adt plus, when I tried to cancel my account I was not transferred and could not get in touch with anyone. I was told I would get a call from a supervisor after having been charged wrongly, but never received a call and when I called back afterwards, I was put on hold for over an hour when previously had only waited 20 mimutes max to at least talk to someone. The people at this company are manipulative and only look out for themselves, lying and manipulating people into signing 3 YEAR CONTRACTS WITH 1000$ fines. I can’t even put into words my fury. Do not ever work with this company ever.

Don't put any information in adt website unless you want them robo calling constantly and leaving messages. I was just checking prices and they tried calling 11 times in less than 2 days
I was with ADT 3.9 years
I was with ADT 3.9 years, I called to ask if they could please mail me the plastic outdoor sign to put in front of my house, that was all broken after the Florida hurricane, I was told I already was given my allotment of signs, which was only one, and that customer service person was not giving in even after I said, how long I have been with the company, Therefore, I knew they were not about customer service, and I was not going to put up with a company like that. I called to cancel, and I was left on hold for so long and then, of course after an hour the call was dropped and no one was there, so I called back and had to tell the same story again and again, I basically spent the entire day trying to accomplish canceling with ADT. Today I was left on hold for an hour. I highly recommend not using this company. It has been nothing but grief!! And one person just keeps passing the phone call onto the next person, and in the end, I’ve been spending three hours, telling the same story over and over again, I thought I was going to lose my mind. Someone I know says SimpliSafe is a great company!

this company is a scam. I was with them for six years (the system itself worked good ) I paid my bill every month. I lived at a home for three years. When I moved they told me to leave my equipment behind. I had to get all new equipment. I did not realize that I was starting all over with my contract and after another three years of living at my new home I was moving in with my boyfriend who already has a security system so I no longer needed my Adt and was stuck having to pay $800 to finish out my contract. I could not use my system and the new person moving into my home did not want to get into a contract situation. They were smart. I would not recommend signing a contract with this company!

Unpleasant Service Cancelation
I have been a subscriber for over 10 years and contacted ADT to cancel my service. After calling and put on hold, I opted in for a call back at around an hour later. During the calls, I was transferred 3 times and put on hold after repeating my same information and desire to cancel my account. ADT made cancelling very difficult. Not a pleasant experience.
Long-Time Customer Left Disappointed
I was satisfied with ADT for a long time (we've been customers 9 years) but the cameras went out and I tried to fix them through their video instructions. It didn't work, so I called and was told they don't send technicians. We were without cameras. I switched to Brinks on Oct. 9 and mailed in a cancellation letter on that day. I just called ADT to make sure the payment wasn't coming out of my account next week and was told they didn't get the letter and I'll have to pay $77 next week, my usual monthly fee. I have a photo of the cancellation letter being put in the maibox but the phone rep asked, "Do you have proof you mailed it?" I asked, "Can you show me proof you didn't get it?" Terrible public relations, and for $77, they will be getting some negative word-of-mouth. I have a business where customers pay a monthly fee. Even if they cancel the day before a payment, their request is honored. In fact, even if they made a payment yesterday and contacted me today saying they had intended to quit, I refund their payment. That is what generates positive public relations, not what ADT is doing.

DO NOT USE ADT!!! We have always had issues with our system, ever since it was installed, and can never get a certified ADT maintenance worker to take a look at it. During the winter of 2023, our alarm system went off repeatedly with false alarms and the fire department and Sheriff's office were both here more than 5 times in one month for no need… So we made a family decision to cancel the plan in the springtime, and that is exactly what we did. About 3 weeks ago the alarm started blaring in our house and the fire department showed up shortly after, followed by the Sheriff's Department, who have been noticed that we were being burglarized, so they were speeding on the highway nearly 90 miles an hour to get here, for another false alarm. We contacted ADT to see why the alarm system was still hooked up, because we had canceled in the springtime… 3 different account supervisors can clearly see where we canceled in the springtime, yet somehow all of the billing supervisors have no notice of that, so they took it upon themselves to remove $250 from my bank account unknowingly, and refuse to reimburse… NOT A FRIENDLY OR PROFESSIONAL COMPANY AT ALL… They're not worried about your safety and well-being at all, all they want is your money and they will do anything to get it, even take it out of your account without you even knowing…

Trying to cancel is impossible. I was receiving emails with reports that my system was up to speed and working well when it wasn't working at all. I called the customer service line and asked them to check the status of my system without letting them know that it wasn't working. The guy says "It looks good on my end". Complete scam of a company. I actually used to use ADT, managed to finally cancel and went with another company. That company was great and they were bought out by ADT. Now I'm stuck with these morons again. Will be canceling with them AGAIN!
My store was robbed and ADT never notified me
NEVER USE ADT. I had their system on my small business and the alarm failed to go off during a burglary and neither I nor the police were notified of the situation. As a consequence the burglars were in my store for 5 hours and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars of merchandise, nearly putting me out of business. ADT has refused to let me out of contract despite this failure of thier system and has given me the option to either keep paying monthly until the end of my contract or pay out the remainder of the contract. This is insane. Never use their terrible product. This has been far and away the most disappointing business i have ever worked with in the 13 years I have been in business.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with and a very dishonest company. They tell you one thing and don’t do it. I highly recommend going with any other company but adt. I’ve call d them 20 times over the last 2 years over us selling our home and they told me to leave equipment and they would put new at our new home but they continue to charge for old home and new home. I am sending a cancellation letter so to horrible service and lying over and over. If they ain’t going to fulfill their obligation neither am I.

I would give them a 0 if I could. I feel awful that I have to write this review but I’ve gone through hell and back with them over the last couple of weeks. I’ve had Blue ADT for several years with no problems whatsoever. However, I recently added ADT+ to my account because my daughter got a new apartment and needed an alarm system. I thought ADT would be perfect since I’ve already dealt with them. Boy, was I wrong! I have been working with so many people over the phone to get this “easy” DIY system installed with no luck whatsoever. They are stumped on how to get the system to work. I’ve been passed along, hung up on, lied to, because they can’t figure out the problem on their end. I finally tried to set up an appointment for a technician to come out to see what the issue is. I can’t even get that done. So I have no choice but to send everything back and go with a different company. The customer service has been horrible and I’m extremely disappointed because I thought they were such a trustworthy and reliable company.

I got my security system installed on Aug 11th after being told it would be $45 monthly. Then I get the documents to sign saying it’s gonna be $47 a month. They installed it on the 11th then I got a document saying that it was going to be $67 a month. So I canceled my service within the three days was told that the money I paid which was $69 would be refunded. I had sent back the equipment there is absolutely no notes that I called on the 12th to cancel my service. Then in September they try to bill me and then I was told that it would take 30 days from September 11 to cancel my account and that I would not be charged for the $69 for the September invoice. On October 11 they charged my debit card $72 , then I was told that that would be refunded. Today October 21 when the refund should’ve been posted to my account I was told that the refund was denied because they are trying to bill me for September services when I didn’t even have them for 24 hours in the month of August . Unfortunately, I have to give them a one star with my experience with them. I would give them -5 stars. I am now having to dispute the charges with my bank because they won’t give me back my refund. Also, I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. So I would never go back to them. They are absolutely horrible. The goal is just to rip people off and their technicians. Don’t even tell you that they charge extra for a camera. Also they charge extra for you to download their app as well.
