ADT seems like a financial fraud for individual customer who can't fight a legal battle. They would take advance money from you a) for equipment (that won't work - note that they would send you the equipment that's not compatible with your alarm system) and b) for installation (that also does not work) and then you keep going after them. They will take hours of your time if you opt for free installation. They would call several hours after your appointment time. Dear Auditors of ADT: Kindly check the fraud. Most of their revenue from sale of system and installation must be actually a financial liability of them.

My alarm system hasn't worked since it was installed and don't even bother trying to get these people to fix it unless you wanna pay for them to reinstall this crap alarm system. Also don't let these crooks auto pay or give them access to your bank account. This company will dodge your phone calls when your contract is up and keep taking money out of your bank account so don't do auto pay......

I started with ADT 2021 when I had my condo, when I moved out of my condo they ask me to pay over $1000 for the equipment which I did.
I was in the process of getting a house. I told them I was moving temporarily and I need to have adt security in my temporally stay at the apartment they said there was a package which I can purchase the equipment and when I was ready to move to my new home I would take same devices. Once I bought my house I called them and set up the technician to come and install same device and same package price I had in my apartment, they said they never reuse the same device and they would give me same devices at no charged I agreed, the fee for the technician to install was $163 x3 billing cycle which I agreed, when the the technician came and installed the devices sensors and he added more things that I did not asked, he said to call the ADT 800 number because he did not know what specific devices I needed.
I called ADT and they said if I did not want the extra device I could return them, the Google device and the shock sensor I said ok I want to return them, a technician was going to come to pick them up which they never came, I called again adt to ask when they would come to pick the devices I did not asked for them and did not want them, they said it was more expensive for them to send a technician to pick up those 2 devices so they would give me credit for those 2 devices I never asked for.
Now they charged me $598 this month and they will charged me $598 x 2 more months for the new devices and technician fee

I called them and a supposedly supervisor who was in Dominican Republic answered after many calls and transferring from one person to another, he said there is nothing they can do, they never ever give devices for free. Which I paid over $1000 for the devices when I moved then I paid over $500 for the second time i moved and paid for the devices.
Another person helped me and was beyond rude and said forget it there is nothing he can do, and ADT won’t do anything.
So they lied to me from the beginning when I moved I paid 2x for the devices now is the 3rd time they are making me paid.
I’m behind aggravated.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Misleading business practices selling services. You have to buy their equipment over a lengthy service contact that is impossible to get out of. They sold a 5 year contract to my 89 year old mother. She had no idea what she was signing. I advise not using this company.

The equipment the technician installed shows that it hasn’t been updated since June of 1969🤦♀️ plus our system hasn’t worked properly since we had it installed😡

Horrible experience
My mother had a heart attack and we had to cancel her account. It took 3 days and being transferred around one time for 1.5 hrs and on hold for 70 min and then again for 1.5 hrs. I was so aggravated that while I was on the phone I cancelled my adt service as well just because I was having so much trouble canceling my moms. I was a former Google nest customer who got the free equipment and still had 8 months of free service but I still cancelled it. After looking at the other reviews it obvious they do this on purpose. I’m wondering if they are actually going to cancel it even though they said they did. They are skilled in the art of torture apparently. If it’s not cancelled I’m contacting the better business bureau. Wait….no I’m doing it anyway.

Don't use this company. BRIAN TUCKER should not be a manager. I have never in my life dealt with someone so rude, does not communicate and been given the complete run around. They are a scam. They charged my card for 2 years after we moved our business out of one location. After a "manager" stated that he would have service there stopped.
I was going to use ADT for our new commercial building, they took close to 2k and never finished having it installed (We were not wanting small business we wanted commercial ). Account was never active, after months of being given the run around. BRIAN TUCKER said to call 1800 number to get our money back. That isn't happening. They told us to contact BRIAN TUCKER. Well of course BRIAN TUCKER will not respond to text messages . phone calls. Will not give me his managers name.
We will not be using ADT commercial after all this. I just want to speak to a real professional manager to help get refunded.
I have all my documentation and threads of texts messages from technicians to BRIAN TUCKER himself. to show this circus show.

Poor customer service and installation practices.
I have an account with ADT Securty,when they put my system in a few months ago,they left white wires exposed and anyone could cut the lines with little effort.I have made several phone calls to them for correction of this problem with no results.My WiFi router went out and I had to get a new one.I attempted to connect,but the cable company stated ADT had to reconnect the cameras to the WIFi. I’m 74 years old and it’s dark outside and it’s raining.I was told to get on a ladder and push a burton on the back of the cameras,in an attempt to restart my service.When I asked for a technician to come out to do this for me,they gave me a fee of 188.00 plus,providing how long the technician would be here.They can charge me for that,but made no attempt to correct their poor installation.Their is unacceptable and I will not let it go without exploring other options.10/11/2023 9:12 pmCST.D.B
Worst service on the planet
Worst service on the planet! I have spent 4 hours or so just trying to get to the right place to terminate service. The actual monitoring always has an issue, and rarely works. ADT is expensive and customer service is non-existent. Otherwise, it is great.

Just let it be known, ADT is going to charge you for an entire month of service PLUS a $200 account closure fee when you close your account with them. This company SUCKS. They provide sh!tty service and drag you through the coals when you try to close out. They. Are. The. Worst.
Buy your own cameras. It's a better investment.
UPDATE: ADT can try to explain their way out of this one, but it's not going to work. You guys offer poor service, and you make it a nightmare to get away from your platform. We didn't have any equipment on loan & the only fees we were hit with were your bs account closure fees. We've been with you for over 4 years. Know your customer.

UPDATE... After multiple phone calls and trying to result in a solution also via their chat feature, ADT still hasn't resolved any issues and has sent a disconnection fee bill of over $800 although I've been a customer for over 4 years!
The worst company I have ever dealt with!!! I have tried several times to cancel my account only to be put on hold for over an hour before speaking with three different people and finally speaking with someone who says they can cancel accounts. After answering multiple questions with the employee trying to get me to agree to extending my account and me repeatedly saying “close my account now!” Even after they supposedly closed my account I still have received NO confirmation of such via email. DO NOT get scammed into using ADT. The worst!!!
Bad customer service
Signed up for the ADT security system and ended up sending everything back within a week. I am now trying to get my money back from them, but can’t speak to no one. Bad customer service every time I call, according to them as the wrong department, and keep transferring me to different departments. Been trying to call for the last two days but was placed on hold for 2 1/2 hours so I hung up. I’m frustrated and don’t know how to get my money back.

I am at the end of my contract which the sales guy slippied in that it was 3 years and not 2 years at the last minute. So I have bee on the phone on hold several times for 45 to 65 minutes several times. Either no one ever picks up or I just get disconnected. I tried a few different numbers and then I get question why I am canceling and then i get trasfered to the black hole phone line for cancelation. ADT is just horrible and a real nightmare when trying to cancel.
ADT IS NOT WORTH IT
ADT does NOT let you out of your contract NO MATTER WHAT. my system never works which they blame on my Wi-Fi yet somehow, my Wi-Fi works perfectly fine on any other device in my house. My husband‘s truck was broken into and had hundreds of dollars worth of belongings stolen. And of course the camera caught none of it when it happened right in our driveway. I called customer service about canceling because it doesn’t seem right to pay hundreds of dollars on some thing that has provided us no security whatsoever. but the only way to get out is to finish your contract or spend hundreds of dollars. Why would I wanna spend hundreds of dollars upfront when I literally just had hundreds of dollars stolen out of our vehicle without any protection from ADT?? Theyre obviously not about security, theyre about your money. Would never recommend ADT to anyone. and they may comment on this saying to email them for assistance, but they certainly won’t give me any money back, theyll just try to “fix” the system that is seemingly unfixable and that I no longer want.

ADT lies to people saying NO contract
ADT lies to people saying NO contract, Installer reiterated the same info. Then tell you you have to sign for confirmation of the equipment installed. Then when you want to cancel BAM you signed a 5 year contract and they want $4000 to cancel. In all the replies on here ADT SAYS "that is why the length of the contract and penalty for premature cancellation is in bold font on the first page". NO THE F,,, IT ISN'T!! Contacting the Federal trade commission. This shady hidden crap is BS. Just be upfront. May god have mercy on you shameless scum bags

I have tried calling ADT 3 times this morning. Each time, in the middle of troubleshooting a sensor that isn't working, they have disconnected the call. Each time I have to call back and wait 30 minutes to get a person on the phone and then after 1-20 minutes the call just disconnects. I then tried to use online chat and that said I was next in line and transferring...30 minutes ago. This feels intentional, like they know we're under long term contracts and they could care less about our services. I'm very frustrated and disappointed
Forced to buy unneeded battery, then charged twice
In or around March 2023 ADT informed me my alarm system needed a new battery. In April, 2023 I ordered a battery. I received an empty box. ADT canceled the charge to my VISA.
6/26/23 - ADT sent a new battery & charged my VISA $32.39
7/7/23 - ADT charged my VISA a mystery $1.00 late fee. I have no idea what this is - I've never been late with a payment in my life.
8/8/23 - ADT charged my VISA for my monthly monitoring fee AND charged me for the battery again, apparently.
At the end of September or beginning of October, I called technical support to request help swapping out the old battery with the new one. They informed me there was nothing wrong with my current battery, and I didn't need a new battery (contradicting their original instruction to me to replace my battery)
Today - 10/7/23 - I called ADT to ask why I had been charged a second time for the battery on 8/8/23 and was told the extra cost was for "delivery." The customer service person was extremely nice, but was unable to help me further. There is no way in the world the charge for the delivery of a small battery could be over $30. Moreover, no one mentioned a delivery charge to me, despite several conversations with ADT starting when I was first told I need a new battery. The price of the battery is outrageous and overpriced as it is, but now, to add an outrageous delivery charge, on top of this, months later, is beyond galling - especially since I didn't need the battery to begin with!
I have been an ADT customer for endless years, starting with Brinks when I lived in Tacoma in the 1990's, and now at my current address for almost 20 years. I normally have no problems or complaints, but this extra charge on August 8th is really galling - not to mention the $1.00 "late fee" on July 7th.
Please help me straighten this out. I will not be available by phone/email between October 8th and 14th, but can check for a reply on October 15th or later.
I was going to dispute this with my credit card company, but I thought I'd try Trustpilot first.

ADT is a garbage company
ADT is a garbage company that you cannot trust with your family's safety. They didn't send out fire when our smoke alarms went off and no one was home. Also our smoke alarms were going off at random times. When they sent someone out, we were informed that there is a recall on 3 of our 4 smoke detectors, but they weren't telling anyone. Furthermore, they didn't have they equipment to replace them
They come out 1 week later and replace 1 more, then they CHARGE me for replacing their faulty equipment. I left their contract, and they can look forward to hearing from a lawyer. They are charging me $950 for " breaking the contract" when they have not upheld their end of the contract by providing functioning equipment or sending rescue services. HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT WILL LET YOUR FAMILY DIE

Call it and you will get a recording in SPANISH and at the end of that recoding, then it will say if you want ENGLISH press #9... Now if adt wants to discuss this any further with me they can send me a Email with a direct # that I can call and not get a RECORDING I call them back.. Better yet lets see if the owner is man enough to send me a Email with his direct #.Thank you. I will let you all know if I ever speak with the owner about this ... And also the person that I talked to Thia morning said that we have Spanish speaking customers and I replied I am sure you do...... I got this # off the internet and it did not say for Spanish speaking customers only.

Homeowner here. I had ADT installed on purchase of my house in 2017. At first the system worked well. Around 2021 rates started going up. One major storm knocked out the cameras. In July 23. Never once did ADT notify me. This is a indication of not monitoring the system. Never got notified. I called 3 times. Put on.hold each time for more than 45 minutes. Tried to cancel. Put on hold again. Then I noticed our check account was debited another month immediately today. That's okay. I called my bank and blocked their payments and any further payments. My system is paid for. I own it outright and I have no contract with ADT. By far the worst service I've had after the purchase of the system. Buyer Beware.
