ADT is the worst!
The ADT+ app is absolutely horrible. It essentially makes all my nest cameras useless. Does not integrate well will google nest equipment, and customer service is the worst I've ever experienced from any company. They're completely incompetent! Their so called "experts" cannot answer basic questions, and will eventually transfer you to a "specialist", who will also know nothing and then will transfer you again! I got the run around for hours and my system is pretty much useless. The google, ADT partnership is a joke! I'm going with a different company for my security needs. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ADT!!!

I have been with the ADT for more than…
I have been with the ADT for more than two years. Last Friday, my smoke and CO alarm went off for a false fire detection (three times in 5 min). I was at work. Then, I rushed home, and the firefighters and truck were there already (very efficient!), but it was a false alarm. I called ADT that evening. When I talked to an agent to report the problem, the alarm went off again. The sound was pretty scary. So, I took it down after the ADT agent removed it from the system. I am glad that I was in town; otherwise, the firefighters could have broken my windows to get in. I had a virtual appointment with ADT today at 9–9:30 a.m. (reminded by email two times) to install a new one. It is 11:25 a.m., and no one calls me. I will probably need to switch to a different company soon.

This company is a rip off
this is the worst company to deal with. Buyer beware. If they tell you there is no contract they LIED!! I am stuck with this company until 2028. I am now moving to Florida and if I try and cancel they will charge me over 3000.00!! They have the worst customer service I have ever seen from a company. The service is hit or miss at best. Had an issue with one of my cameras and they wanted me, a disabled vet to climb up on a 30 foot ladder just to reset my camera, good luck getting a technician to come out, it took three weeks. Customer service line transferred me 5 times to 5 different people. DO NOT ORDER THIS SERVICE IF YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I am getting an attorney and suing them under false pretenses!!

ADT=NO Customer Service
ADT does NOT know a thing about Customer Service. It took quite a number of calls to have something resolved that occurred on 08/04/23. It wasn't resolved until 09/28! In one call, I spoke to at least 11 people over a 3 1/2 hour period-much of it On Hold. Each person asked me to explain the reason for my call which meant repeating the same thing 11 times. Each person also told me they would resolve it but then said I had the wrong department and transferred me to a different department where I was told the exact same thing-I had the wrong department! The very last person I spoke with on 09/28, sent me the information I needed in less than 5 minutes! This should have been done on 08/04 with one phone call speaking with at most 2 people. I do NOT recommend anyone deal with them-EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Predatory
We were told there was no contract and was not informed that once we signed up that if we wanted to cancel that we would have to pay $4,758.24 for services that does not work, and that they do not want the equipment. ADT, is a predatory company and no one should sign up with them.

ADT Security employs predatory practices. My 81 year old mother got suckered into a long-term contract that she did not realize was for 5 years. She just died of cancer and they are billing her for the remaining 3 years on her contract, nearly $600. I spent hours on the phone with customer service reps and (after being twice disconnected during call transfers to higher-ups) was initially told her account would be refunded that charge. When it was not refunded I got on the phone again and once I got through on the 3rd transfer to a higher-up, was told it was not refundable, that she "owned" the equipment and had to pay for it and no, we could not return the equipment. Seriously overpriced compared to other security services and their sales team totally took advantage of an older person who knew she had cancer and never would have signed on for such a long-term contract. These guys are the worst.

This service is awful
This service is awful! I was never able to set up my service. I tried to call for three weeks to stop service and send equipment back. I would get put on hold for hours and continue to be transferred. But they refused and said I will still have to pay for service I'm not usuing. I also can not send the equipment back that I have never even been able to set up. Do not use adt!

Security Offline
For at least the last three days I've had an indication of my security system being off line. An hour long call with ADT customer service did not solve the problem A later call with a technician temporarily fixed the issue. However when I checked earlier, I found the system is offline. Based on a subsequent call, I was finally told that a technician would come to the house next Monday afternoon, October 2nd. This means that my security system will have been offline for at least seven days. I would think that system outages would receive a higher priority and trust that my ADT monthly charge will be reduced based on these offline days which hopefully are a matter of record.

After nearly twelve years with, done with.
After nearly twelve years with, cancelling their service. Issue with motion sensor sending false alarms. ADT contacts me regarding initial alarm, its determined to be false, occurs again several minutes layer. As we are away for several weeks I ask that they disable that sensor. I'm told they cannot. I ask that they set to "stay" mode which will disable the senor, they cannot. In the past they had no issues with such a request. I'm then told they no longer have access to manipulate systems as they once did. I would have to be at the panel (but I'm 1200mi away) or use the ADT app on a smart phone which I never needed before. So, I downloaded the app and it won't accept my My ADT login. Another call to support, I'm told I need to speak to an app support rep but they are not available on Sundays. So they set an "ignore" on incoming alarms for a four hour period, would repeat that function if the motion sensor continues to sound off periodically. To day is Tuesday. 8 calls to them over three days and speaking with more than 18 "reps" (7 just today) app login and sensor issue still not resolved. I found it quite frustrating, irritating, that many "reps" where not state side and their speech understandable. After 12 years, I'm done based on their customer support and lack of system support. There are many other options to look into.

Everything was fine. But a few days ago it stopped working. Call ADT support and they found someone had added another email address as the log on user and set the account to turn off after 30 days. I tried talking to 5 different people about this and never got it resolved. NEVER was given to a supervisor as I asked. IF they do indeed record the calls there is a record of all of this. I WILL NOT be paying ever again.

ADT is a horrible security service all around. I had numerous experiences with their faulty camera recording in less than a year of having them. My sensor on my camera does not pick up on people walking into my house. I tried calling and having a technician diagnose this problem but they insist that I pay a 85$ fee before they can schedule an appointment. Technicians aren’t available to speak on the phone right away, you always have to wait 24 - 48 hours to get a follow up call. (Technician support via phone are the only free service that they offer btw). I spoke to a technician in regards to this issue and they just had me open up my app and make changes to a couple settings in my sensor options. A couple days later , the same issue reoccurred again. Since then, I’ve been experiencing delayed recording and sometimes no recording at all! It’s very hard to schedule an appointment in person due to my work schedule and I feel 85$ is very steep and I unnecessary due to this being a problem on their end. Recently, I changed my WiFI account and now I’ve been unable to sync my cameras to my WiFi to record or even play back live on my app. I tried trouble shooting and going through the recommend diagnosis that they offer online but my cameras are still blank and doesn’t record anything at all. It’s now been 3 entire days since my camera stopped recording and viewing live in real time. I had to go through the weekend without my surveillance because ADT doesn’t offer technician assistance via phone on the weekend. Today, I called ADT and explained my situation to Paula (ID #91915) and she was very unsympathetic, snobby, and sarcastic towards my situation stating it’s nothing that she can do but charge me 85$ for a technician to come out. I asked to speak to a manager and she arrogantly denied me, stating that she has helped me with my situation and it’s nothing that can be done. She also offered to have a technician reach out to me within 24 - 48 hours to trouble shoot my camera via phone. I reiterated that I was in a dangerous neighborhood and was already without surveillance for 3 days straight now. She responded that, she could not do anything else. I asked for a manager again and she reiterated in a snobby tone that she would not put me on the phone with a manager because she helped me with my situation. ADT has different branches within their company that act as 3rd parties which is very confusing because they’ll ask you silly questions like what app do you have downloaded to view your cameras. Some branches don’t offer technician support via phone, some do. The employees sound confused and ditsy as well. You’re better off speaking to automated answering service because none of these people are any help. This 3 year contract is a complete scam along with their faulty equipment that they anxiously can’t wait to hook up inside of your home. ADT takes no accountability at all and is all about their money. In order to cancel my contract early, I must pay them 1000$ not including the hidden fees in the end. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER SECURITY COMPANY.

Poor service
I cannot get appropriate service for my equipment which is not working. Because I am older and have trouble installing equipment, I had someone come over and they installed my equipment following to the letter all instructions on the ADT+ and Google sites. However, the Nest doorbell has a camera that works, but the ringer can only be heard outside and not inside. The Google Nest mini does not work, the outside camera does not work and all the door sensors do not work. I asked if a technician could come over to help get this equipment either working or if I could get replacement equipment and I was told I can only get online help. I explained my age and health issues, but was told there is nothing else they can do to help me. I was initally on hold and on the phone for over an hour and now, I am waiting to talk to another department and I have been on hold for over 20 minutes with no help. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Absolutely horrible. Waist of money. Stuck with them because of the 3 years contract. Chayla was nice. Tried to help. She did her best. But the devices are not working properly, the doorbell is not recording, and if you want to replace them because they are defective. You have to pay for them !!!!

RIPPING the ADT SYSTEM OUT - the happiest day and quiet night I have had since it was installed.Wanted Outdoor Camera and Indoor Motion…
Wanted Outdoor Camera and Indoor Motion Sensor. Accept personal responsibility. But SOLD VERY EXPENSIVE with Sensors on Every Entry after tales of local problems. Since Then, Nothing BUT PROBLEMS: -The Indoor Camera NEVER worked. -Window 15 needed a new Battery within four weeks, and every three weeks there-after. Then DIY Replaced. -Window 40 had a Fault, corrected, then another Fault. ADT Tech said it could be a BAD BAYCH, eventually DIY Replaced. -Window 16 showed a Fault, and Bypassed. -Told AT INSTALLATION that TWO APPs were needed, Google and ADT, since parts of ADT System Doorbell and Cameras not compatible with Google. In two years, never heard from ADT. THEN, Confirming Correct Decision of Cancelling ADT: FOUR HOURS AFTER Cancelling Service, received CALL after DIY Sensor removed. Received three Phone Calls next day. Then NOTICE that Control Panel disconnected after DIY Removal – Two Days after System was deactivated.

This is my first bad review ever
This is my first bad review ever! This is something people should be made aware of before deciding to sign a contract or even consider doing business with ADT. I went with this company because it’s been around for many years. I decided to trust them. I signed a contract 3+ years ago. The cameras would go on and off constantly and the system would NOT work as promised. I would call and complain and ask for good service. Nothing worked. Unfortunately I could not get out of the contract. Not even because of the lack of good service nor them not delivering what was promised. Once the contract expired they called and promised me new cameras and equipment for only $300, a lower monthly payment of $35 (instead of $59) and NO Contract. Installer comes in and says we have to pay $700 for equipment and our monthly payment will continue to be $59 and we have to sign another 3 year contract. Did Not sign anything but yet they sent me an email with a “signed” contract. They automatically took out $59 PLUS $35 for the monthly billing. They also took out the money for the equipment. I called my bank to cancel /stop the payment and cancel my payment method because nothing that was offered was honored. After numerous calls to ADT and literally several hours on the phone with several reps, no one was able to help me. Next month again, I was billed twice. One for $35 and one for $59 for monthly services. Again I change my card and ADT was able to charge me. At this point I’m super frustrated and angry, I decide to reach out to BBB. I explain the situation and they reply almost instantly. I hear back from ADT within DAYS!! They emailed me saying that they realized I did not sign a contract and therefore they will reimburse EVERYTHING I paid for, including service fees and equipment from day one. I just needed to return all equipment. Great!! Im thinking we’re getting somewhere… Technician comes and takes it all. I contact ADT and they say they will reimburse me within 45 days. I get a payment for $700. Then I get a bill for $200. Plus a bill for $59 A week after, they take out from my bank account the $700 they gave me and they bill me again… What the heck!!!!! Who do you need to talk to, to get things right??!!! I’ve been more than patient but still they do whatever they want. ADT transfers you from rep to rep. You waste hours of your valuable time. I had Frustration, headaches and emotional damage!!! Would I recommend them? NEVER!!!!! Who out there can help???

Nightmare to ever get out of the contract
Terrible customer service and they make it about impossible to cancel service had multiple different stories. They make your contract 3 years but after 3 you still owe money for the equipment then give you the run around about cancelling different figures to buy yourself out of the contract. Equipment is terrible on battery life and the app is not the easiest to control.

I have been with ADT for over 20 years
I have been with ADT for over 20 years, I need to move, and they want to charge me $4000 for remaining contract. No of the equipment (cameras, doorbell, etc work) after 2 years.

Battery life ridiculous/no solution/tired of the chirping
We have had recurring problems with the batteries going out in our carbon monoxide/smoke detectors. Batteries get replaced, and less than 2 months later they go out again. It has happened repeatedly with the same two units. We spent a small fortune on ADT equipment when we moved in 3 years ago but with all the problems we are experiencing with annoying chirps all the time we are ending the service. Trying to get someone in charge to discuss a refund for problem-filled equipment is useless.

ADT is the worst company to deal with. I have having a technical problem for over three months but I am getting run around instead of solving the problem. Unfortunately, there is no 0 so I am using 1 but ADT doesn’t deserve even 1 for review. I can hear the manager on the other line that he is telling the operator to handle him and he doesn’t want to speak to the customer Worst Customer Service 0 out of 10

They put batters in about 3 months ago…
They put batters in about 3 months ago and charged for the service now there is a low battery alarm just after a few months and want to charge again to replace them. Batteries say good till 2028

ADT cares nothing about their customers
The fact that ADT has not answered nor addressed a single one of these complaints, tells one all you need to know about their concern for their customers. They get your money and that’s it, they don’t care. If I had read some of these reviews, we would not be here. Use a local company, better service and care!!!

Terrible Customer Service
I am moving and won't be needing the service for now. In an attempt to cancel the service, I was transferred to five different representatives and put on hold five times, having to restart the process each time with the same questions. I have been on the phone for over an hour. Each person keeps telling me that they need to get me to the "correct" department. It is clear that they just want to "ghost" those you want to leave. I was a loyal customer for 13 years and considered setting up the service elsewhere, but no more. I am done with ADT. Also, I received an automated e-mail today saying my home signal was working just fine, even though the phone line was disconnected four days ago.

The worst customer service I have ever…
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been requesting service for over 3.5 months and taken off of work to fit into their schedule and they still have not fixed the problem. A service technician was also sent out and he started off with saying he had no idea what he was doing, watched "how to" videos for 45 minutes and then left. He touched and fixed nothing in my home. When requesting manager information, I am ignored and I am lucky if I get a response within 7 days with useless information. I do not recommend this company.
