STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Overpriced, you will never own the hardware, purposely difficult to cancel service, ANNOYING solicitors who speak condescendingly and seem to be allergic to the word 'NO'. Go look into Simplisafe

May be one of the worst companies EVER. Customer service is non existent. Oh, you can sign up in minutes. But to cancel? HA!! On hold for over 90 min. Sent me a id # to verify cancelation, and they STILL charged me for 4 more months. Had to call again on hold for 60 min. Beware giving these jerk offs your CC #, you may have to cancel your CC as the only option to keep this company from continuing to charge you, even after they say you have canceled service.

Horrible
Horrible! Don’t WASTE your money. This company employs people who do not know how to “fix” anything. You WILL experience extremely long hold times on the phone and multiple transfers having to REexplain every single thing you did to every prior agent you spoke to. Total waste of my time AND money. I do not recommend and wouldn’t even give one star if I could.

ADT: A 22 HOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE
I had adt for 3 days....they were dishonest about pricing they lied and in those 3 days I was left on hold for a combined 22 HOURS.....22 HOURS.... I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND ADT TO ANYONE. They are dishonest and aside from disgustingly long hold times their customer service reps are extremely rude. They will NOT help you so I just cancelled within the 72 hours...NOW IM HAVING TO FIGHT FOR MY REFUND DO NOT USE ADT PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. I HAVE BEEN TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW. I SAVED 3 PPL FROM SINGING UP WITH THEM. ADT CHARGED ME $2800.00 AS A NEW CUSTOMER AFTER QUOTING ME $1020.00 FOR AN OUTDOOR CAMERA, 6 WINDOWS CENSORS , 4 GLASS BREAKS AND 1 KEY PAD....$2800.00..... I WENT WITH VIVINT NOW AND GOT CHARGED $1,100 FOR 1 OUTDOOR CAMERA 1 DOORBELL CAMERA 2 MOTION DETECTORS 4 GLASS BREAKS 6 WINDOW CENSORS.... NO CONTRACT 49.00 A MONTH SERVICE, NOT 60.00 LIKE WITH ADT WHERE YOURE LOCKED INTO A TRASH CONTRACT WITH LIARS AND THIEVES....ADT IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD.... I've been An adt customer for 40 years horrible customer service
I've been An adt customer for 40 years. I called for our alarm to be disarmed temporarily for needed home repair and was informed I would have to stay on the line for 43min!!!!! The person I spoke to was very difficult to understand and I finally hung up. For a service oriented company .... their service has totally been eliminated from their business plan . We will be evaluating other security company options now So ... let me fully understand ... I subscribe to a full service security system ... for which I pay $800 a year .... for which u provide me with a website (not even an app!) So I can service myself . . The most absurd Part is u don't seem to see the ridiculousness of your solution. I did not sign up for a diy alarm service 🤨

Horrible Company
When they say (ADT being they) will look over the situation and get back to you with a solution, they do BUT nothing to do with customer satisfaction !!! The whole experience with ADT has been a nightmare & HORRIBLE from the 1st meeting we had with a Rep/Sub in our home. He showed up drunk or hungover & he was moonlighting in an area that wasn't even his to be in. The nightmare continues on from that day & has been nothing but a disappointment. I wouldn't let this company throw dirt on my casket at my funeral. Did I mention they are HORRIBLE !?!?! Good luck if you should choose to go with them.

I was lied to about the length of the…
I was lied to about the length of the contract! I am in a 60 month contract! Was told after 1 year I could cancel. Equipment was defective 2 yrs later they finally replaced the defective equipment! I recommend not getting any ADT services. Even the company they bought near me gets the same negative reviews! I am a senior citizen who trusted words since the contract is in legal terms!!!! Now I am trapped till I die !!!!!!!! The 2020 was a unique yr with COVID lockdown I was unable to view my contract without having my usual help from friends who speak lawyer! Again your employee was verbally deceptive to me and I am now stuck owing , so I will tell everyone I know of my experience. I know why states like California limit companies to 3 year contract. I wish I still lived there .

Very low service
Called ADT to pick-up an existing contract. They said I need to create a new one instead of simply picking-up an existing one (althought the current house owner picked-up the ADT service from the previous owner of the house for the same conditions). They made me a much higher offer (than what current owner has). I politely refused. They transfered me to fidelity department. Fidelity said they can't do anything and that they needed to transfer me back to the first department and they would make me a better offer. So I got transfered for the last time. It was 6pm. At 6pm they close. The call got disconnected due to their business hours being over. The 2 people I spoke with barely spoke any french, let alone english. Such disinterest in maintaining a customer just because you don't have skilled and passionate labour. Recommendation for Telus/ADT...pay your employees, train them well and work on this customer retention that's currently inexistent.

I moved to a new house
I moved to a new house, ADT sniffed it up somehow. They have been bugging us for a week. Every day I get a new “location manager” who wants to Inspect my house and give me the best deal ever. I kindly declined. They do not give up. They keep sending new people to try and force their service on us. My wife opened the door for them once, the “new location manager” TOLD her they’re coming in to inspect the house and asked her if she prefers shoes on or off. NO ONE INVITED YOU IN. Today I lost it when I saw a “new location manager” from ADT knocking on my door. Next time I’m opening the door with a gun in my hand. Worst salesmen ever. Stop shoving your service down people’s throats. Ring is better for a fraction of the price. F off.

ADT continues to bBillingill after…
ADT continues to bill after cancellation. Cancel service and they tell you that your account balance is zero. Then they bill you for 2 or 3 more months of service. Pay that bill and they bill you again.

Unhappy customer Just recently upgraded and was quoted…
Just recently upgraded adt equipment and was quoted over the phone 1 price. When the tech arrived the cost tripled. The tech informed me my current equipment could not be updated due to 3g. So all my sensors needed to be replaced. I was ok with that however the tech said he would give me free google nest and keyfobs. But that did not happen. I did have to pay for them. I escalated this the day after my installation and after 2 weeks of phone calls waiting for up to 2 hours to talk to someone Numerous hang ups. I get the notice that nothing can be done. And the cancelation period has ended. Shame on me for not checking. Talk about a bait and switch. Stuck for 5 years.

I have been a customer for 19 years and…
I have been a customer for 19 years and want to cancel my service but in order to do that I have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get out of the contract. Their “smart home” devices are sub standard and rarely worked properly. Overall Terrible! I would Not recommend ADT to anyone!

Our original security company was sold…
Our original security company was sold to ADT, I had two months notice of the switch over thankfully it was also at the end of our contract, In no way did I want ADT because 3 year ago when I was looking for a security company ADT wouldn’t give me the time of day. The rep from our original security service warned me “make sure you cancel renewal early” or ADT will lock you into another contract. I did and it took me an Hour on the phone with ADTs retention manager trying to convince me to stay,! I literally just kept saying “No Cancel service” for an hour— until finally they got the point. Worst experience ever from a company that is supposed to be #1 blah blah. To make sure I was inconvenienced more our door bell camera is Proprietary and once they cut service it blinks Green/Red continuously letting everyone know come by and “rob me”

Where to begin
Where to begin? after over 20 years of being an ADT customer, I have finally come to my senses and am canceling. Their customer service is awful (you sit on the phone for over an hour to cancel your service), they don't take personal safety issues seriously, they have constant communication problems with their equipment. Your house isn't really safe - the only peace of mind you have are the signs you put in your front yard hoping to deter a potential break in. I'm fairly certain that the majority of my last 5 years of service there was rarely a point that my alarm system would actually go off in the event of a break in. Why? because they only test their communication ONCE A MONTH and it has failed every month for the past several months. My communication alarm beeping often goes off at 2 or 3 in the morning, waking up the entire household. How are we expected to pay the gigantic fee each month for this type of service?

Need to cancel my account after 19 years and I've been on the phone for over 40 minutes. This is unacceptable I was able to send a signed cancellation request to adt and I'm satisfied.

Worst customer service possible
Worst customer service possible. I had ADT for a couple years with no issue, but they are pricey. I called to cancel when I was moving homes but got a great special (so I thought) to move the service so I stayed with ADT. When they came to set up the service is was pouring rain and they couldn't put in the outdoor cameras. Turns out because they weren't able to install all the equipment same day the prices are no longer honored I guess. Not only that they made me sit on hold for 8+ hours trying to cancel the payments on my old home I just moved from. Trying to talk to billing about why my price was changing because of rain the day a tech came out took probably 15+ hours of hold time (this is all over a 2 week span). Turns out the tech that installed my indoor stuff wanted me to sign something that I thought was just saying he completed what he could inside, and I would do the same when someone else came back for the outdoor cameras, they are now saying I signed something agreeing to this price change, but won't send me the document to actually read it. All I will say is ADT is certainly a scam, they will lie and tell you whatever they need to get your signature then hit you with 3k+ fees if you'd like cancel. Anyway, I woke up this morning saying my current address is canceled, which scared me because I can't cut a 3 grand check right now and have currently been on hold for the last hour trying to figure out what's going on now and how I can log into my account to view my bill and try to figure out what's happening (I've been locked out of everything this morning as well). I've also emailed the AlwaysThere@adt contact they give you, no help came

Hello I was extremely happy with this company for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, last month when I did a transfer of address, everything turned out to be a nightmare. They offer me such a good price for the new address. Wish I paid in full the day the system was installed in the new property. Couple weeks later they took away $250 from my bank account. I called so many times to find out. Why am I a stay hours on the phone waiting which nobody was able to help me. Finally, I was able to speak to a manager who told me she was going to refund me $150 only. She told me just to sign electronically and automatically she won’t refund my money so I decided to sign because I wanted some money back and list. After she received my signature she told me instead of three-year agreement now is five years! I ask why why she did not told me before signing? She hung up on me. Since I have not been able to get no help. This is so stressful to me, because I had such a great credit. Will never ever again recommend this company. The worst!!

What a nightmare
What a nightmare! Trying to cancel my account b/c I'm moving. After loooong wait times managed to get someone to cancel my account..at least I hope. Then they tell me my contract goes to 2025 and I owe them $1000. The contract I have in my hand ends March 2023. No one at ADT seems to be able to locate this 2025 contract. Waiting now for over an hour to speak with someone about this contract. Time to involve BBB. This is totally unacceptable business practice. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I USE ADT

EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to cancel SERVICE…
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to cancel SERVICE WITH ADT. You can’t do it online and they won’t let you do it through their CHAT option. I had to call a special number and when I did they put you on hold for hours. I tried to do this for two or three days until I got so frustrated that I canceled my bank card so that they could no longer take payment out of my bank account.

Extortion
Sold my house in October 2022. I canceled, effective 10/23. They continued to bill me. Since then, I have attempted to cancel AGAIN a total of six times. Six times. Every single time, they "transfer" me to the "account management" department, which actually just disconnects the call. This is extortion. Worst company ever.
