Hands down ADT is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I own a small business which I purchased an alarm system and cameras 7 months ago. We ended up having to move location so I call ADT to try and transfer my system and cameras. I’m then told that they cannot move the system that I would have to pay for a brand new one but the cameras I could move but there would be an installation fee. Great, I ask how much the installation will cost me and nobody has an answer for me. I get transferred 6 times before finally deciding to hang up. I end up calling again next day and they send me a rep come out to survey my new location, he then tells me that customer service informed me wrong that I cannot move my cameras which by the way cost me nearly $2,000 to purchase to my new location and that I would need to purchase new cameras. You have to be kidding me! I told him I refuse to buy new cameras since mine are only 7 months old and nowhere does it say that I wouldn’t be able to take my cameras which are paid full and rightfully mine down and reinstall elsewhere. Even customer service told me I could but now I’m told otherwise. I understand reinstallation fee but why am I being forced to purchase cameras again when I already have them and are paid off? Anyways he then proceeded to tell me it would be about $3,000 for everything at my new location. I told him no I’m not interested in spending that much and it’s unfair that they’re doing this to me. He then tells me he can lower the price and work with me to lower it to $2,000 I still refuse. He ends up calling me next day to tell me they can lower it to $500 and which I continue to refuse because I shouldn’t have to re purchase equipment when mine is literally 7 months old. I called today to get someone out to at least take my cameras down so I don’t leave expensive cameras there for my landlord or new tenant to use, 10 transfers later and everytime I was connected with someone and explain they would transfer me again. It’s impossible to get any help with this company and they clearly don’t care about the customer. I’ve tried several times to cancel my contract and everytime the reps are extremely rude and tell me I cannot cancel unless I pay the rest off. I’m super unhappy with my experience with ADT and just want out of my contract after not just this situation but many others they’ve been difficult to deal with. I shouldn’t be forced to pay for a service that isn’t living up to their promise. I would never recommend this company again after the way I’ve been spoken and treated by their customer service. Save yourself the headache I’m going through and use another company or purchase your own cameras on Amazon you’ll be better off vs using ADT.

When I called in today I was thanked for being a loyal customer for the last 11 years. I asked about getting a doorbell camera on our newest system that ADT installed right at a year ago and I was told I would have to upgrade my one year old system to get a camera or I would have to pay $200 to get a camera. What a terrible customer service! You should treat your long-term customers better! I shouldn’t have to upgrade our newest system that we have only had for exactly one year. It should be the most upgraded system you have! I’m going to look into something different!

I wish I would have read these reviews before dealing with this company.My rep for ADT Robert Haddad in Parma hts Ohio has stolen over 5000.00 dollars from me by running my debit card without authorization.I contacted my bank and they reversed the charges but then reversed the charges three months later because they produced some falsified documents.I called ADT and they are sending a fraud package out.Thats how concerned they are about there reps stealing clients money.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I have been on the phone with ADT for 3 hours trying to get multiple billing errors corrected. 3 hours, 3 people, I've been put on hold probably 20 times and I'm still waiting to speak to someone who can help me resolve this. It is the most deplorable customer service I have ever experienced.
Don't use ADT
Don't use ADT. The worst. Our doorbell was intermittently ringing for over one year. Finally the battery gave out. We were told the tech could come and give us a cord to charge battery. OK tech comes $25 charge, He doesnt give us a cord. But found out the doorbell bracket was loose and there was a bare wire that was the reason for the ringing. He did not have replacement bracket but fixed the bare wire. Doorbell is still loose if someone were to press it hard it will fall off. Now after just seven days the battery is "LOW" again. What kind of service is this. They want 75% to get out of contract after one year of terrible service. Be warned ADT does NOT care for the customers. Called billing about the $25 charge for the visit and we directed to another number to call to receive more run around.
The worst experience ever!!
On 12/14/21 I called ADT to have them come out and add two more exterior doors to my system. Jayvin D told me that I had the old Brinks system and that I had to upgrade to the ADT system, because the Brinks system would be obsolete in Feb 2022. Jayvin was in the heavy sales mode non-stop. She explained that the new system would cost me $688 and that would be spread out over 5 years, then changed it to 3 years. Also was told my monitoring would go up $4/mo. I agreed and she set up the install for Wednesday 12/15. Wrongly anticipating that they would come in a swap a few panels, I went to work and left my wife at home. Then the nightmare began. The first call from my wife was to tell me that ADT was only replacing one of the two panels I had. The tech said a second panel would run $375 and if I wanted it, i would need to call ADT and have them modify the work order. I was not happy, but called ADT. After multiple prompts, I spoke with a rep and explained the situation, who then passed me to another rep to have to explain again. After 4 reps, I was told ADT would give me the second panel for $203. I accepted, called my wife who told the tech, who said we had to call ADT back to change the work order. Four more reps with the same garbage and they all kept saying "who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?". By this time I was not a pleasure to speak with. Then my wife called and said the tech told her the second panel was a portable panel with an electrical plug. I told the tech I wanted a wall mounted panel. Then the tech said it would be $50 for the mounting bracket. I lost it and told him to shove the second panel. Then the rep tied off to wire from the old system and killed all the contacts on the front of my house (doors and windows). His solution was to put wireless contact boxes on all the front of the house. Said he could not mount the new panel where the old one was, so he had to use up one of my kitchen outlets to put the panel in a different spot. Called ADT, four more reps and the last rep said they would give me some freebees. Then I got home. The panel read that there was no power. Turns out the tech connected the main ADT box to the outlet that powers my kitchen pantry light switch. So not I have to leave the light switch on and manually turn on the pantry light.
This could have worked much better if ADT would have done a better job at explaining the process, know that I had two panels, but it was all about the sale and then they shoved it down my throat and butchered my house.
The worst customer experience ever…
The worst customer experience i've ever had, my sensors have completed stopped working for the past 2 months and ADT still have not managed to arrange for an engineer to come. This is not the first time ive had issues with my alarm system.

I'm a former employee of ADT as of July 2021 and let me tell you they are the WORST company Ever I got let go which was wrongful termination due to my manager retaliating against me In the Gaithersburg MD office "Manger of Service Rob Slayden" horrible boss and person who didn't care about his employees and they also never paid me overtime after forcing me to work on my days off and not paying me overtime correctly for the days I normally worked with overtime. I have a 5 year old with medical issues and i worked Tue-Sat shift and I was off Mondays so I made my son's medical appointments on Monday which my boss told me to move his appointments so he could force me to work those days without overtime pay. I till this day i have not gotten any compensation or paid what I am owed. I also endored mental and physical stress due to my Horrble manager and ADT caring more about money than the welfare of there employees. Since i have left ADT gave a bonus to my former coworkers and a $5 raise they had a Union which should have protected me but instead the union didn't care and wouldn't answer Any of my emails or phone calls and just has ignored the issues at hand. ADT customers be ware they dont care about you just your money and their products SUCK and have many issues that's how they get you on service call fees of $25 and sending out a technician $150. I was alsos forced to work in unsafe weather like snow and black ice. My boss would let other employees go home and told me to go do jobs 1hr in away in ice and sleet after news said it was too dangerous for anyone to drive. I wish I didn't have to Say all of this but it's the truth and very unfortunate.
Terrible company to deal with
Terrible company to deal with. After 3 phone calls and being promised a engineer would call next day we have now received a text to say they will not come out to the 14 th Jan after me saying I’m away on the 30th dec. so no alarm after telling them about many faults of the alarm. I love that they have increased my monthly fee.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY . they have a very small team of engineers nation wide and and stack the customers high . so they will promise you the world at the time of sale , but don't have the staff to service your call outs . we are a small company in Manchester and have been waiting for an engineer for 3 day no alarm working means no insurance we are having to sleep at are unit to keep the insurance valid . very sad on Christmas eve . they can still not let us no when they will arrived . WARNINING DOT GET RIPPED OFF .
ADT Sucks
Well, ADT, this company it iis the worst, I got their system installed at my home on 12/10/21, cameras started it going offline after 3 days, we called to reported it. It took 4 days for a mobile appt to resolve problem, but couldn't do it, they have to send their technician Luis again to fix the mess that he left, we don't want him back at our home,
He made a big hole on the wall behind the command panel, and where the electric outlet as well, my husband is patching the wall, it was not neccesary to make that big hole on the wall to put the command panel.
It is Dec.23th and still cameras are offline, nobody called back or come to try to fix the freaking things. Their system cause problems with our internet, wifi always disconnecting, as soon we turn off that command panel our internet is good.I can't believe this company they are a joke, of course it is not ADT no more it was bought by another company, they just keep operating with ADT name.Do not do business with them.
Update: ADT's response was a further example of incompetence. They asked me to copy my review to an email which turns out to be ADT USA, which is not associated with ADT UK!
ADT's main problem is customer support. There is only one phone number and an email address that I only found by reading Trustpilot reviews. I wish that I had reviewed these reports myself - I would have no dealings with any company that has 81% negative reviews. I have had several IT problems with the connection and it is fair to say that when you do get through to an engineer the response is usually good. However, this has needed at least 1 hour on hold listening to Vivaldi on a short loop. For this reason, I would not recommend ADT.

ADT are a nightmare. They are totally unprofessional and incompetent. They never get back to you. This was the biggest mistake of my life. Problems from day 1 after a few months. They are making me feel ill and stressed. Will need to take some kind of legal action
Do not get ADT
Do not get ADT. Do not let the salesman inside your home. Do not let him persuade you into signing a contract - even if you’re sure you want it. Take a few days to think it over. Make sure you understand the monthly cost of the contract. Make sure you understand that the contract is not cancelable for 3 years. Then decide if their unreliability, terrible customer service, and cancellation fees are really for you.
Beware, nightmare communication.
Beware, ADT has a serious communication problem. The gal who originally sold us ADT was a professional and competent gal. However, ADT failed to communicate that our account was managed through Safe Haven, an ADT broker. A few months after canceling our service, we were served papers with a court date for an unpaid cancellation fee. We never received a bill for this fee from ADT or Safe Haven before the bill went to collections. Nor did we ever receive a letter from collections. The entire thing went straight to court. Had we known about the bill earlier, we would have gladly paid. It doesn't matter how good your product is if your communication is non-existent. Try Vivint instead.

Absolutely the worst mistake you can make , contract is a joke , took 8 yrs to get rid of these ripoffs , and send some crackhead looking guy to my house to make my wife extremely uncomfortable to supposedly fix the system , good riddance !
Cannot get through to customer service…
Cannot get through to customer service to get any help to hook up my alarm system but they are taking monthly payments.
Get medic alert for aging loved ones
I tried to get an emergency alert for my ailing father but where he lives in the country had poor reception, etc.
so after being assured that I could simply “move” the service and equipment to my house and maintain the 59.00 monthly payment if something happened to Dad, I signed up.
Biggest mistake ever!!!!
Dad had massive stroke, we sold his house and had to move him in with us.
When I called to get the service moved, they charged me almost 1700.00 dollars to “cancel” his service (which I was paying on) and want to charge additional fees to “move’ the service here.
So besides dealing with his medical issues, selling his house and taking his belongings to storage, etc. I get the old rope a dope by a so called trusted name in the security business.
My advice to all is to just get a medic alert for your aging loved ones and not trust ADT as they are liars, and an unscrupulous organization.
I want to relocate without penalties but you charged me 1700 dollars so feed that BS to someone else.
Terrible
Terrible! I had a tech virtual appt scheduled for Tuesday between 6-6:30, it’s now Thursday at 1pm and all I’m being told is that I need to have patience and grace. Don’t use adt because they don’t show up to fix issues and then have excuses why.

I wish I could give a 0 star. I have had ADT for over 3.5 years. In the spring of 2021, I called to have a service appointment. Consequently, I also agreed to a new service contract but to be honest I do not recall doing that but I am moving now and my new location has a security system. The only options I have with ADT is to pay 75% of the remaining contract, transfer the contract to the new owner or sign another contract at my new location which starts me all over again in this mess. I hate ADT. I feel trapped. I paid them faithfully for 3.5 years and this is what I get. I will never recommend them to anyone. So much for being a loyal customer.
ADT very expensive to start & replace batteries
I find ADT very expensive to have. It was over $2,000 to set up. It costs a lot to change batteries. I called about the system beeping. Was told I needed to order battery from Amazon. That was about $60 and it did not stop the beeping. Was told it could be a bad battery and send back for another. Once I said I just wanted to discontinue service, a mgr came on. She sent tech to my house free of charge to review why system was still beeping. It turned out the battery on outside of house with flashing light alarm was what actually needed changed and then a medical alert battery needed replaced. If you have to replace flashing light battery is has to be done by tech which can cost you a good $90-$150. The battery I bought was probably not bad to begin with. This has taken 5 months to get the system addressed. Now I'm leery of what the phone techs say that I need to replace. I see it as costly and a waste of time and sleep with beeping system.
Why would anyone do business with this company. (I am stuck,)
For the past several months I have been trying to deal with the random beeping that starts up on my ADT System. Not the alarm, just random beeping. I've called, had someone here who was insulting and rude, still have the beeping. It can go off at night, or any time during the day.
Last week, finally a contractor, not an ADT employee came to fix it. He was unbelievably rude, and insulting, and did not fix the problem. And yes, my house is messy. (He complained to the company. )
'And yes, I re-boot, shut-down, I do all of that. Nothing works.
Meanwhile, back in the spring, I had a major (expensive) upgrade. The experience was a nightmare, and on day one a kid shows up who wanders around my house the whole day and does nothing. Late that night I phone ADT, and start to get an attitude from them, until I tell them he did nothing the whole day, and HE LEFT A LIVE WIRE IN MY HOT WATER HEATER CLOSET. The tone of the man on the line changed. The next day, someone comes to put in the new equipment, and brings this kid along. Why would ADT send someone like this, by himself, to someone's house,

Anyhow they did the install, and after that, the beeping started. I just dealt with it, but now it is worse. And the rude person who came last week did not fix it.
Meanwhile, I had an extremely rude woman on the line who had me re-boot and told me that would fix the problem. Did not fix it.
Why does anyone do business with the company? It is a fight to get anywhere, and then it is your fault that your system malfunctions.
I still have the beeping, it is a struggle to get someone here, and when they came, they were rude and did not fix the problem.
I have ADT for years and their service is Horrible
I have ADT for years and their service is getting worse. Contacted them to add to my system with a recent addition and they said my systems cell phone needed updated. Then I had to delay the add on due to delay in completion and I asked that they proceed with upgrade of cell system. They said no and since that time the security system is non functional and I have had that verified by ADT support. It has been non functional for quite a while in retrospective review by themselves, yet I have been paying my bill. They will get here in 2 weeks and it is my loss. I was told by their people that this should have been done over a year ago, but they just didn't have the ability to get it done. They do not follow up and keep you informed of out of date or phase out of systems. Once you pay them for system, they don't give a D***
The worst service
ADT sent me a text setting up an appointment for 12/15. I confirmed the appointment yesterday. I hired and paid someone to let them in, as I’m away, but no one showed up. I was on the phone gor 35 minutes only to find out there was a scheduling glitch, though the appointment was confirmed the day before. I called the corporate, where someone who couldn’t care less couldn’t find my account and transferred me, so I could continue holding.
A rep eventually rescheduled.
This is a well deserved F in both commitment and customer service.
