ADT is absolutely the WORST company…
ADT is absolutely the WORST company I’ve ever dealt with in over 50 years. Their equipment failed weekly after I had it installed in March 2025 and the straw that broke the camel’s back was on October 24th when my wife and I were at our second home in Oklahoma, at 5:09 am we received a smoke alarm alert saying our house was on fire. Two fire trucks and 10 firemen responded to our 5000 sq. ft. Home in Spring, TX and almost broke down our front door. This started three months of almost daily equipment failures and monitoring problems. We finally had the entire system removed from our home last week and ADT initially argued about a complete refund until we threatened legal action. They finally issue a 100% refund today!

ADP-the WORST Customer Service I’ve ever experienced
This is by far one of the WORST customer service experiences ever..I have been on the phone over 4 hours with countless holds after having paid $500 + 13 days to have all the batteries in my system replaced plus my system checked. I’ve been sent around to multiple people put on hold for hours. Told I’d have to pay hundreds of dollars for an emergency call. Finally spoke to someone who agreed that it was their responsibility and said they would schedule an emergency call at about two in the morning last night and then was called this morning to say that that was overridden and canceled and then spent another hour on the phone trying to get someone to go to my house with the thermostat that they have is not working to make sure that the pipes don’t freeze..
This is ridiculous! This is the worst Customer Service I’ve ever experienced. It’s still not resolved. They suggested that I wait a month for someone to come then they suggested that I have to pay another$375 less than two weeks from the last time they went for an emergency visit.
As of this morning after not sleeping all night, nothing is resolved, no one is available, and I am not at that address and in that state right now to do anything about it. If my pipes burst, I intended to seek legal action against ADP.
I am so frustrated by this lack of response and this extremely poor Customer Service

This company has the worst contract. Poor customer service doesn’t help. They broke my contract. Once I went through it I found that you don’t ever have ownership of the cameras without getting it in writing from them, even if they are paid off., they charged me for an install that was free, I have the email that shows it, then they would not capitulate, then I cancelled, but I found out they signed me up for a five year contract, I had no idea there was also a cancellation fee of 75 percent of the remaining balance. Save yourself the pain and suffering and just buy far better cameras for far less money and either install them yourself or hire it done with no contract. They literally provide nothing.
Completely unreliable and shady company
Completely unreliable and shady company. Will lie about your system's capability to get a signature, then not reply once they get money. They overcharged for promised functionality that doesn't exist, quietly signed me up for a multi-year contract I didn't agree to, then promptly ignored me. Don't bother with contacting the email address in the reply to this review; they'll outright tell you they're fine with their representatives using these tactics, and you're out of luck. Go with anyone else.
No Truth in Advertising - A Rude Ruse
Arrogant, condescending and rude. The field team “leader” Emanuel Tome is an arrogant pompous ass with zero customer service skills. The LAST company I would ever consider due to this self-important better than the customer attitude from this low level manager. In the cesspool of corporate bureaucracy this dude needs to be flushed.
Their “Free Installation” is a marketing ruse that has a price. $1,455 to be exact. When ADT says it’s “Free Installation” to make the appointment then lists Professional Installation on the sales contract $1,455 it’s pretty clear that one is a lie. When the less than capable “manager” offers support to explain, he fails miserably as the lies only compound. Seek out a company that prides itself on transparency and truth rather than this house of deception. RUN. Google should be ashamed to be represented by such a louse. Canceling Google internet next. I will not support this con job poorly run mess of a company.
I canceled my service on Sept
I canceled my service on Sept. 12th, 2025, only to receive a bill on Dec.1st that my system was still active. This after being a customer for 27 years. It over 1 hr on telephone to get my account canceled again, while dealing with disrespectful and poor customer service. Avoid ADT at all costs.Update: customer service said they would investigate and get back to me within 2 days. That was 4 days ago. Just avoid ADT.
Beware of their sales promises
We moved into a new home. ADT tele-sales sold us a system. Free equipment and install with a low monthly monitoring charge. We bought the package and gave the rep a credit card. When installation time came, ADT tried to jack up the price by $1000 and almost double the cost of monitoring. No thank you we said. They acknowledged they sold us the package at original price but simply decided they no longer liked the deal. Beware in our opinion of seemingly bait and switch like tactics.

Look elsewhere for Home/Business Security
I’ve been an ADT customer for over 18 years, and I can honestly say the company has gone downhill to the point where I can no longer recommend them to anyone. In my experience, ADT does not make you feel like they care about your home, your safety, or your loyalty as a long-term customer.
Working on or updating the system is made unnecessarily difficult. Every time something needs to be replaced or adjusted, ADT seems to overcharge for even the smallest items. Getting in touch with someone who can actually help is a challenge in itself—long wait times, unhelpful responses, and constant runarounds.
The most frustrating part is that these issues can leave your home feeling vulnerable, which is the exact opposite of what a security company should be doing. Between excessive fees, poor customer service, and the general lack of support, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
In my opinion, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. After nearly two decades with ADT, I can confidently say I would not recommend their service to anyone.
Terrible service
Terrible service, avoid getting "service" from this company. It's much better to get cameras on your own, buy from Saveheaven, and then ADP tells me that it's not possible to provide technical support. They want to charge for everything and sell equipment when it's not really needed. They're scammers, and then ADT isn't responsible for anything.

No customer respect
Long story short, ADT wrongful withdrew over $1500 from my account thinking I broke the contract agreement when in actuality I transferred it to new location. Monday coming up will make 2 weeks since they took my funds leaving me in overdraft with my bank, and they keep telling me(since 2 weeks ago) that my funds will be deposited. I've even received an email from ADT president Steven C. Stating they will tell my bank to expedite the funds, that was Tuesday and it's now Friday. This has put my family in a financial whole, but all we have been getting is empty promises and no compensation

ADT is THE WORST!!! They use a third party to install their ADT equipment (SafeStreets) and that way ADT doesn't have to provide workers comp insurance or even a bond to protect consumers. Their third party does not carry workers comp or a bond. Their third party was installing wires in my attic for surveillance cameras and he tripped over the ductwork and fell through my living room ceiling and landed on my couch. ADT refused to pay for repairs, and refused to reimburse me for $65,000 in damaged personal property.

It's funny you hire ADT to protect you from criminals but they are the criminals. Will be moving to another service and taking them to small claims court after they wrongfully billed me for 3-years after an address change and have now put me on hold or made me call in 9-10x to get a resolution to the matter. Whatever you do, explore your other options bc ADT is horrific.

I have been a customer 3 years.I get charged every time their equipment malfunctions for them to come out and fix it.Now I have moved and trying to cancel, and i've been transferred five times and been on hold for most of that time.For over thirty minutes now, they are %$#^&&%$# awful!!!!!!!!

I was with the company over 3 years with no issues. That was the problem, I had no issues. As soon as I started having issues everything went wrong. Service calls were incorrect, many many phone calls to the company, charging amounts that are incorrect, one person did not know what the other person was doing. I missed a lot of work to be home for these service calls, because my equipment did not work. Everytime they came out it was incorrect! Could not do the job!! I decided to cancel my service due to incompetancy of your company. I ws told there was no cancelation fee by multiple employees of which I confimed. Then I get a bill for that. Had to call again to fix this issue. not sure this is resolved yet. They took money out of my account for the equipment fees (of which the equitment does not work) Overall this have been a disaster from the get go, when I started needing help with my equipment!!!! I will never recommend this company to anyone!
I could go on and on withsome many more issues, but I do not have th time. It will no t make a difference anyway. I realize the company will do nothing, just putting my voice out there!!!

Had service for 19 years. I was covered for any parts. My keypad went and repair said could not be replaced. He shut off service. ADT called and want me to sign a new 3 yr contract and pay double monitoring costs. On top of that they refused to refund money as they said they need advance notice. I did not want to cancel but the system did not work.
ADT have more than 10,000 complaints
ADT have more than 10,000 complaints in the BBB. They sent me to the bureau because i decided to not pay them for a service that never worked for me. They went selling packages in my community knowing that our internet service wasn’t good for them system, of course a Hispanic, Spanish speaker community which is unable to read English written contracts. What do they said? That is my internet system that is not good enough for them system so recommend me to buy a second internet package (Century Link which is a good company). They just want the money no matter what.
Horrific customer service
I moved to a new address and transferred service. They billed me for 3 years double address without sending invoices. Told me they were so sorry and going to refund. I've had to be in 7-8 hours of calls bouncing around horrible service reps (most recently Emily - she told me her name was that but the next guy says her name is F Rianna in account management) that lie and tell me everything is resolved. We're pulling the plug and moving to a local provider.

I’ve never written a review before, but ADT has truly earned this one.
Trying to resolve a simple billing issue has turned into a nightmare of endless transfers, long hold times, and zero accountability. It’s almost impossible to reach the right department, and when you finally do, you get transferred again like it’s a relay race no one wants to win.
I was charged twice for the same payment because there was no confirmation or indication that my card was processed the first time. Their system gives you no receipt or real-time notice, so you’re basically paying blind and hoping for the best.
On top of that, the communication between ADT and their collection partners is a complete mess. One department says they can handle payment directly, another says it’s out of their hands and meanwhile, customers are left to clean up the confusion.
For a company that sells security and peace of mind, they provide neither. Getting a bill paid should not require detective work, multiple calls, or a tolerance for 45-minute hold music.
ADT needs to seriously reevaluate their customer service structure and billing transparency. The lack of coordination and accountability is staggering.
If you’re thinking about using ADT, consider this your warning: once they have your information, getting a simple issue fixed will test your patience more than any alarm ever could.
Dead ADT system
This past Friday, our ADT system began behaving oddly, beeping when the alarm wasn't set. The first tech support person I spoke to was clueless and barely spoke English. The second wasn't much better, and by that time I'd figured out that the battery had died. The third tech support person was able to finally tell me how to disable the system, and we finally got some peace. The system was now dead, and I had to order a battery. Today, Wednesday, I got an email telling me the battery had been shipped! I didn't expect they'd ship it Friday night, or over the weekend, but not until Wednesday? No wonder their rating is so awfully low! They clearly don't care if my system works or not, just send them more money.
Dear ADT, do you have any idea how dumb your request sounds? Do you not talk to each other? I did email it, apparently they don't let you play with email...

This is a terrible company
This is a terrible company. They overcharge relative to other services and their products are no better. In fact, in many ways, they are worse. None of their control pads operate via battery-only so you have to have an outlet close to where you mount it and it is butt-ugly to have the transformer wire running on the wall from the outlet to the touchpad. They also do not include the wire with the touchpad and make you buy it separately, but nowhere do they say that; you have to call them to figure it out. When you try to use their "Chat" feature, nothing happens when you click the link. We went from ADT to Simplisafe in our old house, but my wife made an executive (and unilateral) decision to go with ADT in our new home. Very unhappy she did because their products are no better and in many ways worse. And the ultimate insult is how much they charge for web access to your system. A rip-off and a bunch of scoundrels. Run away, run away...
Older System upgrade for Window replacement
I've had my systems for years and now I am replacing windows in the home. Most of my home is hardwired which they do not support anymore for new installs. I asked my sales rep if I could use the old sensors and was told "look on youtube" but no one at ADT would help. If I wanted to keep the ADT system I would have count the windows myself call them back for a quote.
