I need a security system that can protect me from this kind of business!
As a general rule I try to live by the personal law that if I have nothing good to say say nothing at all. I, however, I must speak up. My experience with ADT SECURITY has been horrible. I have tried for months to notify this company that I sold my home in July and no longer need the security system. I requested that they disconnect. I no longer needed the service! I have written letters and made calls that I could not get through on multiple times with no response except to be put on eternal hold! I am being harassed by people trying to collect bills I do not owe! And when I try to work with them they keep forwarding me to eternal hold. I simply do not know what else to do. getting through to any help or anyone to speak to about this situation is impossible. I simply do not know what else to do apart from contacting Better Business Bureau or going to that extent.

My experience is similar to all these customers that tried in good faith to cancel the service after the contract has expired in February 2021. ]I paid my last bill up through July. I informed ADT of my intention to cancel. I was reassured it would be done. But that was not true. In August, I called during business hours and was re-routed and put on hold to various departments for 3 hours before I talked to someone. I was told by the rep that I still had a 6 month contract. That was a blatant lie. Long story short, I got billed for $266.00 for no reason AFTER I was informed that they would cancel. I don't have any more service with them and after 2 months, I now find that the account is with a collection agency. This is so ridiculous.

This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company. I have called 6 times over the past week to resolve an issue with my system and have spent an average of 3 hours holding to speak to someone but usually, they toss you around over the 3 hours like a pair of seals playing with a ball at the aquarium. No one except for the most senior representatives seem to have access to notes on your account from previous calls but you have to get passed 3-4 times and explain your problem each time before you get to that person. It's insane.

Military Family here: We bought a home just before quarantine but now have to relocate. When I tried to cancel, I was told that I signed a 5-year contract which doesn't ring true bc we have been a moving military family for 14 years now-- I wouldn't have locked us into a contract that lengthy because we move around so much. I asked if service could be transferred to a tenant on our property and was told no. I was told that I could either accept a transfer to our next property (which according to our new lease is not allowed) or I could pay a $1400 cancellation fee. So much for 'Support Our Troops'. No need to respond with any generic apology with an email attached. I've already reached out to Alwaysthere at adt dot com.

They do not stand by their word. The 6 month satisfaction money back guarantee is a joke and a big lie! I have been told by the sales rep and a manager they require 3 attempts to resolve any problems then the money back guarantee is an option. They have attempted 3 te to fix our system with no success and now will not stand behind their word. SURPRISE! Not to mention I have to take off work for their tech to come to my house and charge a service fee plus a trip free to work on their faulty equipment!!! ADT services has cost my family far more than what they are worth!!! Save your self the headache and stress and find another system to install.

Disgusted by my experience. I was lied to by employees of ADT as well as a 3rd party they use on how to handle a relocation of service. When I went all the way up to corporate to fix the debt that i racked up from listening to there incorrect instructions I was told there was nothing they would do for me. So now I have to pay over 1 thousand dollars and im stuck in a 3 year contract. The lack of accountability for their own mistakes is extremely unprofessional and if I wasn't legally bond by a contract I would have nothing to do with them. It's sad because I was excited to be able to finally afford a system to help protect my family. But now I have to struggle to buy my kids Christmas gifts after paying this . Thanks ADT

The company scams and tricks customers into a new contract when you're trying to cancel. If you're leaving they start with you being in contract with them without knowing. If you try to leave they up your final bill and take it from your account you setup on auto pay without any warning. You can't setup a payment arrangement or any type of plan. They lie about you signing a contract. Be careful they only want your money and never update your systems.
Absolutely the worst ever
Absolutely the worst ever. Our system has been beeping incessantly for many months. We call, we get a temporary fix, and then it happens again in a few days. It's driving us crazy. We called to cancel and they are going to charge us $350 to cancel. For what? So we can pay MORE money for a super annoying service that doesn't work? As far as I'm concerned, they should be refunding ME my money, not charging me an extra $350!
Encourage a class action suit for charging for a service they cannot deliver!
I have been a loyal customer of ADT for nearly 10 years. Something has gone very wrong with the company in the past 6 months. Customer service is absolutely horrific. I get a tech or representative that has no idea what they are doing. I called in to learn how to 'bypass' my smoke detector system until a tech can arrive and need to know how to reset alarm. The representative (Keneesha) had no clue how to do this. She kept giving me wrong instructions then said she would transfer me..I got rolled back into the automated system after waiting for her to come on the phone for 45 min. I called back because my alarm was going off...the system told me to "press 2" if my alarm was going off and the automated system said THERE IS A 45 MINUTE WAIT TIME!! A 45 minute wait time when your alarm is going off!! The poor customer service, the poorly trained representatives, the extremely long wait times are all unacceptable. ADT charges a monthly fee for services they CANNOT provide. I used to not have any problems with them however, as I said before something (assume management) has changed and the company has gone down the tubes!!! I will be cancelling very soon. ADTs responses to all the poor reviews speaks volumes they are doing nothing to improve the companies professionalism or quality of service. Very very sad!
9-21-22 UPDATE: ADT reached out to me via email in a timely manner once I posted review. A courtesy discount was given. No explanation of how ADT plans to improve customer service in the future or how to prevent this circumstance of happening again. ADT is on a probationary period for me. See how things go from here.

ADT has the worst Customer service ever. Their sales representatives try to get you to sign without reading contracts. They are super pushy and make promises that they don’t follow through with. Then you have to call back multiple times to get it fixed. I’ve had to explain a situation like 12 times because I’m constantly transferred without warning. I dread having to call them it’s a nightmare everytime. I hate you ADT you made my first time getting home security the worst experience of my life.

ADT is a fraud. You are unable to speak with someone other than a Call Center representative. I am cancelling my service after 5 years. They say that you get a referral bonus for new customers. I referred 2 people and have yet to receive the referral bonus. They do not contact you unless you are adding additional service. Thanks for 5 years. But you are replaceable ADT.

I have had ADT since 1998, and never had a problem. Two months ago my alarm goes off without warning on a Saturday afternoon. I was told I needed a new battery, so I went to Home Depot and got a new one and installed it myself. Just approximately 2 hours ago the same alarm went off. I went through the steps the rep had me go through, and I was transferred to technical support. I unplugged the battery and disconnected the alarm in my hallway, still didn’t work. The nice lady apologized for not being able to help and I was placed on hold again. So finally a rep told me what to do which basically all I had to do was turn off the power to the system. All together I was on hold for almost 20 minutes while my alarm is blaring. I had to go outside to talk to the tech due to the alarm going off. What if had been raining or 2:00 in the morning? I am now cautious about leaving home and my alarm going off at anytime now. I was informed that the reason my alarm may have we off is due to a break in power which did occur the previous day, but having a break in power has happened in my home many times since 1998, and the alarm didn’t go off. I am seriously thinking about going to another security provider cause I can’t live my life around wondering if my alarm is just going to go off without warning. Not a happy customer at this point.

Our business was robbed and broken into. Our alarm was set an armed. When broken into ,ADT alarm never went off. A phone call was never received and nothing in the system said there was movement or nothing! I have alarm system with you and cc tv.

I have talked to several people at ADT and steven at corporate.
A service tech came out that day , checked everything and he said nothing was wrong. He changed the sensor just incAse but he said nothing was wrong.
Nobody can give me an explanation on what happened. I feel ADT is not reliable and is hard to spend so much money with your company and it doesn't even work.

I need to sell my house. The customer service told me to pay $2000 for ending the contract unless I need to transfer to my new house.
Even after transferring to my new house, they sent me $2000 bill. I will write a complaint to BBB.
Poor Customer Service
I have trying to reach ADT for the past 3 weeks. One of my control panels is not working, and has not worked for over a month. Called ADT first time and they transferred me from person to person claiming that they would troubleshoot. Kept telling me to give them just 30 more minutes, after being on the phone for 2hours. Called several more times and was told wait time was an hour or more. Even after staying on for more than an hour still did not get to talk to anyone. Yesterday was told to leave my number and someone would call me. Waited all day and never got a call. Today waited over an hour, still no one answers. MY CONTROL PANEL STILL DOES NOT WORK! Company and Customer Service is a scam
Had so many issues with the equipment most likely due to the slow internet here. So I called today to cancel because there's no point in having it since it doesn't work properly with the internet. Was on the phone for over an hour trying to cancel finally at the end the rep said they were finalizing it and was seeing if I could use a different form of payment as I requested. Put me on hold for 5 mins and apparently transferred me to someone else who answered and in the middle of me replying to them immediately hung up on me. Criminal behavior over people trying to cancel their service. Will be telling everyone to stay away from them. The funniest part is they say their cancellation number is (800) ADT ASAP. What a joke.

When are you people going to wake up? These people are FELONS! STOP PAYING THEM for services you are NOT receiving, and initiate SUIT! They are in breach of contract and are liable for treble damages payable to their clients. SUE THEM!
ADT has terrible customer service
ADT has the worst customer service. You cannot easily reach a human to schedule a technician appointment or help with an issue without holding on the phone for almost two hours. I finally got someone and they couldn't help schedule an appointment so "transferred" me back into the queue for another two hours. And they do NOT call you back if you request a call back. The day before I had requested a call back and no one ever called. Although their agents are polite, they must be outsourced to another country because I cannot understand their accents. I am very frustrated because I urgently need a service technician and cannot seem to get one. I have wasted four hours this morning just holding on the phone.

Two days tried to speak w an adt rep. Over 4 hrs total time waiting on hold! Then rep transfer to another department and waited on extended hold yet again!! Adt is in cahoots w google and is not user friendly to view camera. Ring is a much better service, customer service oriented, easy to use and less expensive

SYSTEM IS 35 DAYS OLD AND FAILED THIS WEEKEND WHILE AWAY. INTO MY 5TH HOUR OF TRYING TO RESOLVE MY 35 DAY OLD SYSTEM FAILURE. STILL WITH EACH TECH/CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON THE PREVIOUS AGENT DOESNT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. ITS A MESS. NOW TO FIND OUT BY TECH SUPPORT MY CAM WAS NEVER GOING TO WORK PROPERLY. NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 2000 PLUS TO TAKE THE SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT WORK OUT.
