WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICIANS
had the system fitted 2 weeks ago including skybell (like ring doorbell) guy that came round to fit alarm put one of the sensors in the wrong place as its behind a curtain , not a great start. he also hadnt fitted the skybell before . he fitted the door bell in the wrong place so they sent another guy out to remove and refit, (he also hadnt fitted one before). took it off and the 1st guy had butchered the wall behind. instead of drilling 2 small holes to fix the door bell to the wall he drilled loads of holes and a line down the brickwork. as soon as he saw it he didnt want to touch it because of what the 1st guy had done and took photos to send to his manager to get rectified . he then couldnt refit the door bell ! brilliant ! he got it covered in his blood where he cut himself while trying to fit it failing in the process. ive got the doorbell wrapped up in kitchen towell and in sandwich bags in my house now. so now im left with no door bell on a ruined wall and no contact from anyone at adt i must have made 15 phone calls trying to get to speak to someone to sort this out. so if you read there website , "highly trained technicians" dont believe it. i have spoken to customer service who said the manager of installations is the guy i need to speak to. at 1st it was he'll call you back and he didnt, then i got hes just driving he'll phone you back within 2 hrs still waiting. then i got he'll phone you within 3 days and guess what ? no phone call. all i want is for the system to be taken out and my wall repaired. in 2 weeks time a payment will be due and im sure someone will be phoning me up to get that when its not paid.!! . it feels like im in an episode of rogue traders !

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. Nobody really cares. They talk like they do, but they don’t. When your services don’t work they don’t send anyone to fix it, they don’t have records of it, they just say okay we’ll call you back. You wait for a call back, it doesn’t happen. You call again, and you’re told the same, and again and again and again. This is apparently Canada’s number one home security service? Keep up these business practices and malpractice , and someone is going to get hurt while your equipment is down and you’re going to be held liable. I’ve never been as frustrated with a company as we have with ADT. Today I was told it’s okay to cancel my services because they’re unable to book a simple appointment. To sum up, they’re the worst company I’ve ever dealt with in my entire lifetime.

If I could give a negative star I…
If I could give a negative star I would. ADT is fine when you have it but when it’s over it’s like a bad break up. They will not let you go. I paid my last balance I’m August and it’s October and they are still sending me bills. Run for the hills this is worst than a stalker boyfriend! When you want to leave they will not allow you to leave and continue to make charges up and say you never canceled. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone and NEVER use them for any of my properties ever again!

Deceptive Business Practices & Fraud
I originally called ADT the week of June 22, 2020 to inquire about their alarm services. I was told that all equipment would be free, and I would just have to pay an installation fee upfront, and a monthly service fee. This sounded like a good deal, so I decided to go with it. On June 26th, the ADT technician that came to my home to install our equipment said that it is a 3 year contract, but there is a 6-month money back guarantee, and that we would be able to cancel for any reason if we were not happy with the service. At no point during the appointment, did he mention a 3-day cancellation period. At no point during the contract signing, did he mention a 3-day cancellation period. I did not sign a 3-day cancellation clause, and when I received a copy of the contract via email from ADT, I was alarmed to see my digital initials next to it. This was a forgery, and complete act of misrepresentation. This contract should be VOID. Not to mention, this all came after the bait and switch scheme their company is running - the equipment they said over the phone would be free actually cost almost $400 after negotiating it down from $1,500. When I originally told the tech that I was not comfortable with signing a 3 year contract and I needed time to think about it, his reply was "well you're already invested with $100, so you're going to lose that, and if you don't sign with me today then I can't give you the price we negotiated". He then went on begging me to sign so that he would get paid, and that I can cancel after! I felt pressured in my own home! When I contacted ADT, they said that our contract was with a company called Defenders LLC, who is one of their providers. The tech who came was wearing an ADT uniform, and had I known my service would be through another company, I would have done my research and seen all of the outrageous scams they have been pulling on people! After reaching out to Defenders and explaining everything, they refused to help and are still holding me to the early termination fee of over $1,000. ADT ACQUIRED Defenders, and they should be held responsible. OWN UP ADT! I have the attorney general in 2 states working on this, and I will hire a lawyer if I have to. Originally I was seeking a refund, but now I would just be happy to cut my losses and get out of this illegitimate contract.

Service clientèle pourrie!!!!! Les employés ne connaissent pas les produits d'alarme et se contredisent......vraiment aucun professionnalisme. Temps attente téléphonique interminable! Aucun bon sens!!!En plus, une représentante ADT m'a appeler hier, et ses enfants criaient dans le téléphone, pendant qu'elle tentait d'écouter mes besoins....elle comprenait vraiment rien de mes besoins!!!!PATHÉTIQUE!!! J'ai été longtemps avec leur services mais c'est finis , je me suis dirigé vers une autre compagnie plus professionnelle et très connaissante dans leur domaine!

How can you trust the company to…
How can you trust the company to protect your home your family that can not even set up a appointment in the right way. Yes very cheap yes promising a lot of things but don’t deliver anything. Charged cord in seconds never showed up for appointment.

The worst lousy experience with Adt
The worst lousy experience with Adt. I tried to cancel my service after 8 years, then they convinced me to continue and claim that I now had a contract. So when I go to cancel again, they said I have to pay a penalty. They are dishonest and I hope they die a slow and painful death. The service itself sucks, when my alarm went off by mistake, I get an email saying "proceed with caution" thank you very much. I would not recommend and am sorry that I let them take advantage of me. Don't use this crumby, dirty, lying company.

Horrible custom service! I was passed to 4 different people over a simple question! Don’t recommend at all! I just cancelled my service with them and it won’t take until 30 days ! Such a ripoff!

This company is absolutely the worst…
This company is absolutely the worst company I've dealt with. They customer service agents as well as the account managers. Imagine, I called to tell these people that I will be relocating. They were sure to tell me that I had to use their services when I locate. They even fail to inform me that they will be taking hundreds of dollars from my account. All I'm saying is buyer be warned. They will leave you in that dark.

Honestly a nightmare on my street.
Honestly, I don’t know where to start. The people on the phone were awesome and offered me $ 1850 and a “free installation”. They read to me what it included and 24.99 a month was Awesome. So 10 am was start time and Some guy shows at 2 sitting in his car with the door open. We open the door and he does not look up. I think he wanted a grand entrance. No idea. Very nice guy but stayed until midnight. Actually 1232 if I count the minutes outside he stroke by his vehicle. Yes midnight and over 10 hours later and no working system. By the time he was done he wanted over 7,000 dollars and that’s with the 2000 free equipment WHAT ??? ? So what the heck did the 850 include and the 1000 extra dollars. I even asked him if people have sticker shock after and he comments that no they don’t because most no the value of service he provide. Are you kidding me ? I felt bad and stupid at this point that I had not saved a payment to buy equipment. Apparently I should’ve known better. After 4 m-6 hours of telling him no to standing outside with my husband for an hour and leaving him in our home he was still not budging. Mind you, he stayed at our dining room table to make himself comfortable. He finally peeked his head outside out home and said he would be in the bathroom if we needed him. We finally went back in to tell him no after over an hour of him sitting there and he still was not satisfied. After another hour of asking him to leave and him rambling on about my charges if I don’t buy he I finally said yes to 487 Total. It started out at 4 payments of over 2k dollars and he said don’t worry we are here to work with you. He finally let up and charged my card. It took him about 15 minutes to install and we had no sensors for the windows, two cameras on the floor he said he’d be back to install, a lock that was “smart”. Because Apparently the sensors are to expensive for us we but he could come back over in November to install for 1600. We would loose are 20 percent discount though. Seriously, are you kidding ? I was robbed years ago and he played that up well. He played on the fact that my son was unprotected in the basement and could catch fire. Ooh and better yet we paid 59.99 a month because we had a “newer panel” He left without it installed and said if I have an alert I should call the cops since we are not set up yet. He knew I worked during the day and my daughter and husband are home alone. It’s 1230 pm and he’s finally by his vehicle. Our front door tore up with his drill and millions of wood chips on the floor. We hid the wood chips as we did not want to give him reason to try to go back inside. He handed me a sign and told me to take a hammer in the front lawn. At this point, I just wanted him gone and nodded. We didn’t understand the lamp light and he brought in a lamp for him to plug it into. He told us it went with the keypad so we let him plug it in. He said if someone was up the light goes on or if they tough the deadbolt. As we walked around the home we found net gear boosters, cameras on the floor, a door he didn’t put on right. I finally called ADT this morning today and so happy I did. Because the cameras were never installed, I cancelled the contact. The manager was nice but said we had an appointment for Saturday to finish an install and told me to take everything down and hand it to them. I guess that leaves us with a broken door, holes in the wall, and a big mess. We went and bought a dead bolt tonight and the door won’t lock right now. What a mess! I found out all those charges were “installation” fees he tacked on to the cameras he never installed and a door he broke. The manager was mortified and credited us what we paid minus the 100 installation fee that’s charged up front. We now have a broken door with no lock, a box of equipment, new holes in our new home and over 10 hours of pure misery. Beware. Request ADT only if there’s such thing. If not the person coming out makes their money on the extras and tacks on install fees for thousands of dollars. Provides items that are not ADT and will charge 299 for a booster that cost 18.99 on Amazon. ADT I thought was good but whoever is installing is all about the money. I almost was scammed out of a thousand dollars being naive to the new smart devices and wanting a safe home. Shame on me for wanting to call the number 1 in security to keep my infant and son safe. If you have ADT out stick with the package that’s free and do not say yes to anything more. 7000 dollars ? And that’s with a 20 percent discount and almost 2000 in free gear ? I was literally ill after he left. He rambled on and on on how he would stay all night to install and not new to putting in cameras after midnight. I have a feeling he’s done this a time or two. I’m so glad I spoke up. I’m floored at 10 hours wasted as we let a trusted security employee in our home for 10 hours that harassed us to the point we were paying money for him to leave. True story and wish I could say otherwise

ADT charges an extra month to people who cancel due to job loss
I am no longer under contract for monitoring and called to cancel after losing my job to cut monthly costs. The ADP retention rep advised me they would charge me for an additional month of service despite my request to cancel effective immediately and following their instructions to email my request. So many companies have been compassionate about people struggling due to the unprecedented loss of jobs during Covid but ADP seems to be the opposite. I will never return to them or recommend them to friends.

HAD ADT for 11 years. Cancelling during the service period (must provide 30 day notice). Service significantly degraded, long delays on phone, customer support terrible, cost does not provide market value. Go to SIMPiSAFE! Better features, more coverage, less money, better service. Reply to ADT, I’ve escalated my complaint a number of times. The last was with Samuel Evans. Simply providing these script responses is unacceptable when no one follows through via communication or providing basic service.

Worst service
Worst service. You might as well get a $100 system from amazon - because for what you're paying with ADT, you're not getting anything. NO customer service, cameras that are not accessible, alarm sensors that go off at all hours. It's taking over 2 months to resolve, and in the meantime our store was robbed. There is no point to this service. It is waste of money.

The worse experience you could imagine…
The worse experience you could imagine when dealing with ADT. Sales reps lie to you to get the sale. Cameras don't do what they say they do. Customer service is the worse we have ever seen in a company and their so called presidential executive support team is it joke. With ADT it is all about the money not about the safety of the customer. The Page family in Oregon is very disappointed with ADT.

Very bad! Technician told us we have a two year contact. Called to cancel and gave us a date that the contract was up. Called back to cancel they gave us another year added on to the first date. What a rip off. After random alarms going off and horrible customer service we have decided to hire a lawyer. So frustrated with ADT. Never use this service!!

What a joke ADT is and their service agents do nothing but lie to us customers
This adt blue is the worst thing I've ever bought I've had nothing trouble since day one I've been sent the wrong cameras only two out of four cameras work they said all I needed was a good Wi-Fi signal for the system I have full service on my life I still can't connect all four cameras can only connect to everyday I wake up it's got to be reset and rebooted where it does not work properly the outside cameras are the gray ones with no antennas so they're searching for service 24/7 the batteries don't even last a week I was told they last 80 Days everytime I talk to somebody I get put on hold for hours and then they hang up they say there's no managers for us customers to talk to which I know and think is BS I would never recommend anyone to go to ADT for home security service I would recommend going to Lowe's Home Depot or Harbor Freight and buying a system that you can use with no problems I used to have one thought I was doing the right choice by getting rid of it and upgrading to ADT for their services but it was the worst Choice me and my wife has ever made in 2020 I have been lied to several times about this system and the device has one customer service agent says I was sent the wrong cameras the other customer service agent said no they were the right cameras so now I have 8 cameras sitting on my table that ain't worth the Box they came in the batteries do not stay charged they don't have antennas like they should have for outdoor stuff to reach to get better connection I have requested the white ones with the antennas I was promised a chime booster twice now they're telling me I have to pay for the booster when I have a strong Wi-Fi signal but they say I need the booster to hook up all four cameras I was never told any of this in the beginning everything I was told has been completely false from everybody I've talked to at this place yesterday I was on the phone for almost 13 hours between being on hold and hung up on by their agents because nobody could fix my problem this is the worst security system I've ever dealt with very unpleased thinking about sending it back they can keep it and I'll go buy one from the store much better and more reliable ADT is a joke and a scam in my opinion 304 5529355 1618 Livingston Charleston

First time home buyers taken advantage of
We were visited by 3 salesmen before we finally decided to hear their pitch.. WORST DECISION EVER. Their salesman Chris said he was giving us the best package possible which included basic window sensors on every ground floor window in our home, a camera, two door sensors, the hub, and a glass shatter sensor. We were told this "glass shatter sensor" would detect ANY breaking glass in the home, we were even told to be careful not to drop plates cause it may set it off. When the technician came out to install he advised me that the salesman was wrong and that glass shatter sensor WOULD NOT detect anything outside of a 100sq ft area and that I would need to upgrade to shock absorbing sensors. So we were lied to and given false information by an ADT salesman. Once the equipment was installed (halfway, it took almost a week to "gather" all of the sensors needed for our home) we noticed the camera never gave us any alerts.. we went out and purchased a RING (LOVE IT) and realized that the camera was faulty. 2 weeks later they finally had a new camera for us, installed, and they disabled the recording rules. So we had no functioning camera once again. This system was installed August 22 and as of yesterday, October 7, we FINALLY have a working camera. After numerous phone calls, the biggest run around ever, paying almost $900 for an upsell due to a salesman lying, and 2 months of paid for service, we were issued a $38 credit, LAUGHABLE. Beyond frustrated, will be consulting an attorney to help get out of this contract. Bait and switch techniques, scare tactics, AVOID them at all costs.

ADT continue to call my cancelled alarm and ADT refuse to fix
I cancelled my system due to being made redundent due to covid. This cancellation was fine but they have continued to call the line check security number and it is costing me money. When i contacted them i was told i am out of contract and therefore they would not do anything for me. As they installed the system my feeling is that this is their responsibility but unfortunately they do not appear to care. The attitude is really poor.

Single first time homeowner taken advantage of
If I have NEVER BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF in my life! My experience with ADT is a first and now I’m stuck dealing with this company until 2023. If I could afford to pay out of the contract and including the equipment GOD knows I would. Upselling, payment agreements that is unrealistic (depending on an individual’s circumstances), leaving you NO choice of you want to feel a sense of security in your own home, yet taken advantage of by the company that “should” be providing the security!! SMDH!! Never again

The experience has been a nightmare The experience has been a nightmare. We sold our house over 5 years ago and cancelled our ADT subscription. We also closed our bank account as we moved from Indiana to Utah, and we opened a new account with a different bank in Utah. The former bank in Indiana later opened an affiliated account with a different company as there was money left over when we closed the account. Five years later and we start getting threatening emails from ADT “you owe $300+ and we will send a collection agency after you? It turns out that for five years ADT was still taking money from an account we didn’t even really follow as we thought it was closed, and when they emptied the account they started sending emails to us saying we still owed money? After calling multiple adt representatives, some even understanding what had happened and stating they would close the account, we continued to get email threats. With the fear our excellent credit rating would be affected, we called and said we’ll pay this Bill (which we did while on the phone) just to get adt off our backs, and they said the account is now closed. That was two months ago, and guess what, the Bill for last month just appeared in my email today. Obviously adt didn’t cancel our account and now we have to start the entire fiasco over again of attempting to get adt to close the account, but this time we are taking the matter to court, I’m done with adt’s customer service. And as seen below, here's ADT's response.....note NO email address, no phone number. Go ahead and try emailing ADT, they don't have an email way of contacting them, and when you call them you get the runaround. Reply from ADT 3 days ago Hello Chris - We are troubled to hear of this experience you've had and apologize for the frustrations you've endured. We'd like to look into this further and assist. ADT Security UPDATE as of 11/12/2020. I recieved a phone call from ADT Indiania 10/28 apologizing and stating I would be credited 1495.60. I then rrecieved 3 bills in same day for 1300.00??? HELP ADT
Negative on every level. My system has never worked properly from day 1. They came out 3 times to fix it and had the audacity to bill me for these services. The installation was done horribly as well. There technician who came out the 3rd time stated: "They ripped you off. The motion sensor placed in my metal garage would never work properly in that environment. I had the entire system taken out. I am tHen told that a local manager (which by the way has nothing to do with me as I purchased over the phone) has to make the decision on my refund???? And I would recieve a call no later then the following Monday as it was Thursday. Guess what...that was 1 and a half weeks ago...nothing. I called again today...waited on hold for over 30 minutes...asked for supervisor another hold for 15 minutes...the person was only an account manager no supervisor and she hung up on me. This is not okay. Here is an update as of 10/21/20. I once again waited on hold forever 2 more times. I was told to hold she was working on it. Then some guy named Jason picked up and of course new nothing about me and once again I had to repeat how messed up they are. All I want is a full refund which entails aprox 1500.00. You removed the system and now continue to give me the run around. I was told by Jason that the elusive local manager would be calling after spending another 2 hrs on the phone. This was last Thursday. Nothing!!! I will be contacting the BBB and anyone else until you refund my money and warning everyone to never do business with you. TEAM ADT IF YOU EXIST, MY ACCT NUMBER IS 14381849. ADT, Interesting as this is now the 4th promise to hear from your Elusive local manager in 24-48 hrs, over a ridiculous amount of time and frustration. Wow!

Customer Service at ADT Security
If there was a category of less than 1 star that is what I think would be an appropriate rating for this horrific company. The customer service is as bad as it gets. I have been a reluctant customer of ADT for almost a decade and have never once had a pleasant experience when having to call them and unfortunately I have had to call them a lot. Please take my advice and do whatever you can to avoid this horrifically managed company.
