Had an ADT tech show up at my home at…
Had an ADT tech show up at my home at 230pm, 30 mins before he was suppose to show up, sat in front of my home reading a paper, my wife called to inform me there was a guy sitting in front of our home, never went to door just sat there. I pulled up at 3pm my scheduled time window between 3pm and 6pm. From here it progressively goes sour quick. The tech comes in my home seems to be completely lost, did not put any shoe coverings on nor take his shoes off, thank you for the mess left on my floors. Walked around for about 30 mins says I am going to make a phone call. He goes out front on MY PORCH, and starts smoking and talking on the phone. I walked out front and stated we don't smoke here, he responds my bad. About 15 mins later he comes back in my home we are at 414pm now, says ok I don't have all the equipment to do your install I am having it brought to me will be here in about 45 mins, then it will take me about 2.5 hrs to do the install putting him in my ho.e until around 8pm. My response no , we have dinner to eat and your lack of preparedness is not going to incontinence me. He says ok let me make a call. Goes back out on my porch for about 15 mins until I walk out front to tell him let's wrap it up, then I am told we will refund uour money but have no way to send any type of proof to that effect. If you can use another security company I would advise, poor service, poor workmanship, poor customer service , terrible experience all the way around.

Terrible service
Terrible service; service technician presented to put my camera's back on line on 9/18/20. That repair lasted less than a week. I waited for at least 30 minutes on hold to have scheduled another appointment with a service technician to correct the initial failed effort by their service technician. Even with 20,000 employees, the earliest appointment they could secure for me was on a Tuesday during working hours a week after the request had been rendered. RELENTLESS PROPAGANDA
The folks we bought our home from HAD ADT. I had it once and quickly got rid of it. They didn’t respond to an alarm for 15 minutes. ADT is now bombarding us with propaganda to continue their service. We went with VECTOR. We are getting THREE (3) piece of mail a WEEK from these clowns aka ADT to buy their service. They are like dog dodo on your shoe. Impossible to stop their crap from getting delivered. I have phoned the president office with a promise to remove our address...no luck. We have to pay to get our garbage removed. Trees are precious!!! 3x4x15 ( months) ...180 pieces of mail and we haven’t signed a contract...when are these bozos going to get the hint?

The experience has been a nightmare
The experience has been a nightmare. We sold our house over 5 years ago and cancelled our ADT subscription. We also closed our bank account as we moved from Indiana to Utah, and we opened a new account with a different bank in Utah. The former bank in Indiana later opened an affiliated account with a different company as there was money left over when we closed the account. Five years later and we start getting threatening emails from ADT “you owe $300+ and we will send a collection agency after you? It turns out that for five years ADT was still taking money from an account we didn’t even really follow as we thought it was closed, and when they emptied the account they started sending emails to us saying we still owed money? After calling multiple adt representatives, some even understanding what had happened and stating they would close the account, we continued to get email threats. With the fear our excellent credit rating would be affected, we called and said we’ll pay this Bill (which we did while on the phone) just to get adt off our backs, and they said the account is now closed. That was two months ago, and guess what, the Bill for last month just appeared in my email today. Obviously adt didn’t cancel our account and now we have to start the entire fiasco over again of attempting to get adt to close the account, but this time we are taking the matter to court, I’m done with adt’s customer service.

As it seems to be the case with other customers, ADT continues to deduct $53.49 every month. I moved to Colorado and no longer live at the address in FL where the equipment was installed, and where I blinded signed a contract for 3 years. Abusive business practices. I have called a number of times and what they have done is to request the remaining months payment of the contract. Their contract ADT, doesn't even have my original signature. This is absurd and abusive. DO NOT USE ADT as your "Security" Company. The only thing secure is taking your money out of your account.

Wish I never would have gotten the…
Wish I never would have gotten the service set up. Now I'm stuck paying for a terrible service for 3 years. Don't do it. Door sensors won't work, they won't tell you until the day of service that they don't have motion sensors but "They'll call you when they come in". Don't count on that. I've had the service for a little over a month and still no call. Good luck if you choose to go through ADT.

My 84 year old mother had her alarm serviced in September it should have been April but had to wait because of Covid she has just received two bills for £79 as they say year runs from September to September so one service two charges said48 hours manager would ring 4 days later no call I’ve just phoned under review will call 5-7 working days who pays twice for one service fuming

This company is horrible
This company is horrible. I literally arranged to be set up with a security system at my new rental property. The rep told me there would be a technician by to set up everything. I went on the priority list because they had no openings and was told to expect a call. I got a call, and I assumed it was them trying to schedule me. I called back and a different rep informed me that I would be setting up the security system myself. What??? No. Another rep tried to convince me of how easy it would be. No, that's not what I was told. And they then couldn't find my contract! I was transferred to retention department, where they could barely find my account. I hung up because, as I explained several times, I was at work and tired of being put on hold for 5 min plus just to get some clarity on the issue, and then just to cancel. I also got tired of their reps cutting me off when I was trying to explain how confusing and frustrating this process had been. Maybe if they had listened, they would not have had to ask questions i had already answered. If you don't want to hear me complain, then do the job right the first time, please. Anyway, after today's experience, I was finally in touch with a rep that actually knew what he was doing and got the order cancelled. Mind you, I have hung up and called back over four times and talked to and been transferred a ridiculous amount. While most of the reps were nice overall, their hold times are ridiculous. I will be going with a different security company. If this is any example of their business, I do not want to entrust me and my household to this company. No thanks

Their security systems are fine their customer service and billing are horrible. I moved in May and had ADT at my old house I contacted ADT to cancel my service and get a final bill. After about six weeks of waiting I called them back because I never received a final bill. Customer service stated they had no record of the canceling my service. So I canceled it again. I felt like the person I talk to this time had their act together and that it would get done. This time I did receive a final bill and I paid it off. That would have been late July or early August. Then starting in September I started getting bills again for my old address for security services I’m livid. I don’t know how many calls it takes to get someone to do a simple transaction like canceling a contract! The latest bill I received showed me being almost $200 behind in payments. In the September bill I wrote a note and attached it to the bill letting them know that I had already cancelled my service twice. I figured if the customer service staff could not get it right on the phone maybe if I wrote a letter they would get it straight. Well I just received an October bill today. Canceling service seems to me like it would be a pretty straightforward process I’m just at a loss why they can’t get it together. Will never use them again!

If I could give a lower score I would. I hate ADT. they lie just to get to your home, didn't install all devices, dealer stated that he would be back and ended being stuck in the contract due to him lying like he would be back. After calling and explaining the situation I was told that I would have to pay $1400 to cancel my contract. the dealer told me i had 30 days to cancel and I was never told about a unknown 3 day of rescission, Lies. This company is a rip off and as a realtor. I'm stuck in a 3 yr contract or i have to pay 1400. The system doesn't work. and I still haven't had a technician out to get correct the issue. Customer service is rude and unprofessional. I'm currently searching for way to break this contract due to the lack of operating system.

ADT is terrible and I regret ever having them put a system in my home. The system is always having issues! The most recent malfunction ended with my wife being cussed out by the ADT representative. Use anyone except ADT!!!

Shockingly awful
Customer service is terrible, poor, and appalling . ADT engineers have been onsite a number of times and not been able to solve the issue, yet they fitted the alarm system. This has been an on going process for a year or longer. They have no interest to help. Forever chasing them to help. All they are interested in is the money

Service still incomplete
Service still incomplete. I was told I would be given two free months of monitoring, but my credit card was charged for the monitoring. I was also told that someone would call to complete my install and no one has called. I may have to call my local news troubleshooter reporter and expose the company for its terrible customer service.

I am trying to cancel my services with them for 2 months already..When you say to the customer services attendant you want to cancel, they put you in the hold and never answer you again. When I go online on their site they have a message that you cant cancel the service online... anyone knows how should I proceed?

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
Instead of putting the service tech fee of $25 to the first bill like they said they would. They put it as a previous balance in which they charged me a late fee. Once I called, the representative said that it ONLY CHARGED A DOLLAR. It does not matter to me if it only charged me a dollar for a late fee. The fact that it was supposed to be in the FIRST BILL and not as a PREVIOUS BALANCE is my concern. This will affect my credit because of a late charge and it is unacceptable.

Have been a customer for over 2 years…
Have been a customer for over 2 years until recently when my wife was made redundant so we had to make cut backs and the monitored alarm was one of them ( would have gone back once she works again ) We was told alarm will work fine etc etc , and guess what GSM fault ( 2 months after we cancel ), they claim to have sent a letter asking us to call to have the alarm decommissioned so it will stop sending. Signals , We have had no letter and been at home since March pretty sure we would have seen it! After speaking to what I can only describe as rude and arrogant KEVIN it willl cost us nearly 200 quid for someone to come out and do a 2 minute Job Absolute disgusting - well we won’t be staring out contract with you again and will be using a new alarm supplier!

Disappointed in the customer service.
This is the worst company that I have done business with. They were alright when we used them and had service with them. Once we canceled they set up a payment plan which I never missed a payment and on my last payment which was due today they sent to collections weeks ago. I have never missed a payment and I was paying monthly since I couldn't pay 1,300 dollars for canceling since my house sold quickly. I wanted to transfer service but ADT don't care about their customers. We are building a house and it takes more than 30 days. It takes more than 30 days to close on a house if it wasn't being built. I am highly upset that I have to even go through all of this after being a loyal customer for 12 years. Absolutely ridiculous not only for how they treat customers but once your contract is up they haggle you to resign promising things and never deliver.

Système n’ a pas fini installé, annulé service et charger des frais exorbitants, envoyer à agence recouvrement ,employé prendre arrangement payement non respecter .bill 1459$ pour pénalité ,service clientèle très gentille mais jamais trouver un superviseur immmediat pour expliquer leur décision d’annulation ., ne respectez pas rendez-vous pour trouble shooting sur les équipements.

Horrible company
I cancelled my adt service 6 months ago and they said I never did. They do not listen to their customers and just plain out lie. I don’t understand how they are still in business. Years ago they were great. Now they just steal your hard earned money. Don’t use them. EVER

I have been a loyal customer for 31 YEARS! and have paid bills on time while enduring rising costs. Finally in January 2020, I called to cancel my account. ADT offered a lower price so I continued w/ ADT. Then in Aug. my bill went up again. When I called to cancel 9/3/20, the women said I have a 2 yr contract and would have to pay the balance. She emailed the contract to me; I immediately noticed that it was not my signature. It didn't seem to concern her and went on to state the remainder of the 2 yr bill would be sent to me sometime in Oct. One week later I rec'd a bill for $336.38. Two and a half weeks after that 9/28/20, I receive another notice that my bill is past due by 30 days! WHAT THE HE$$!!! in the midst of a world wide pandemic when there is a major loss in jobs, people are in line for food for days, lives are lost people are desperate for money, losing homes, barely hold on for dear life these bottom feeding low-life contemptible blood sucking leeches have absolutely no compassion or understanding of what is going on in the world. They simply want their pound of flesh. I am attempting to figure out how to pay essentials, i.e., food gas, electric water property taxes, etc. and these worthless self-absorbed excuses of human beings won't be happy until I'm homeless just as long as I pay them their pound of flesh THANKS FOR THE 31 YEARS!!! I can't believe before all this happened I actually thought when things get back to normal I would start back with ADT. NO F___ing Chance!! This company does not care about your safety or wellbeing, do not fall for their song and dance, run fast and far away from them. Loyalty and your wellbeing means nothing to them find another way to protect your home and security.

DONT DO IT! ITS THE WORST! They reel you in and paint a pretty picture. Then BAM your stuck paying for a crappy set-up. Not once was I ever offered a promotion, just the basic service for 60 months. I was told I’d be called back, 1 month later have yet to receive a call back. Checked my card and it had 2 transactions. Not once was I ever told they would separately takeout for the service and equipment.. DONT BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY SAY FREE! Nothing is free. Also, once you sign you’ll start getting emails with awesome promotions, yet when you sign not 1 was ever offered! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, AND NOTHING BUT LIES!!! SO DONT DO IT!

ADT FLEECING UPON CANCELATION
Been with ADT for two years sold house canceled got bill for $158,24 "cancelation fee" Called billing terse statement "it's in the contract", no supervisor available. Guess what? ADT fleeced me once was going to start ADT new home not now or ever! Ding me once naughty you, ding me twice naughty me! Will install Simply Safe system myself buy it and it is yours. Installed it in my home in Maine 10 years ago no problems.

Mistake to go with this company
Fairly ok company until you try and discontinue service. Company called twice to let them know that we were discontinuing service and to stop service as of that date (May 2020) as we were going with another company. Not only did company not stop service, but they billed us for the following three months. Now this suggests that they are either shady or totally incompetent. If you are in the business of protecting homes wouldn't you notice that you were no longer receiving a signal and follow up? I mean, that is the business they are supposed to be in. So you go three months without receiving a signal, do not follow up, and then bill the ex-customer for a service you did not provide. Do not recommend these folks at all. It is a nightmare trying to fix their mistake even after you have paid them just to get them off your back and you still get phone calls asking for payment. Who exactly do they have working for them?

Refusal to reimburse cancellation charge for loyal customer
We sold our home on September 8, 2020 and immediately ADT charged our credit card a $432 cancellation fee. After being a loyal, on-time paying customer for over 12.5 years, ADT refuses to reimburse the cancellation charge and insists I must pay this fee until I purchase a new home and restart ADT service. After being passed around to 7 different customer service representatives and supervisors over a two hour period with absolutely no satisfaction and all of them seemingly reading a script, why would I ever request service from ADT again and why would I recommend ADT to family, friends, or colleagues? It seems ADT has a very poor business model where the customer is not considered important and it is okay to spend excess money trying to attract new customers versus spending very little money to retain loyal, long-term customers. Very short sighted approach in my opinion. I appreciate ADT responding in a positive manner to my concern expressed above. I received a professional response which I wish I would have received when I contacted customer service originally.
