Unimaginably bad service
We had 8 cameras installed at our commercial building in New Orleans and have had 8 service calls since then, after the most recent "service call" we are down to one functioning camera and are waiting for ADT to schedule our next "service call" I recently got an email from Patrick Bergeron the service manager saying how sorry he was, I have left two phone messages and sent him 3 emails and 5 days after his email I have yet to hear from him.

I ordered ADT services for the first time and the initial salesperson entered my address incorrectly for a city that was an hour away. I was not notified until the day of the install at which time another ADT rep said she was correcting the information to only find out it was not corrected and my address was still for the city and hour away and my current address. Then the third ADT rep who said she was in ADT Advance Care also said she corrected the address and then two hours into my wait time for the second scheduled date for install I received a call from a technician in a city an hour away with the incorrect address for the third time. I am just sick right now and feel like I just made a huge mistake going with ADT!
After speaking with customer service, who made the problem worst- after four transfers of the call! No concessions for their errors in taking the order and scheduling a technician. I need to start looking for another company immediately!
The saga continues in a poor way. The install is now incomplete and ADT customer service wants me to wait another week before it is completed.
3 YEAR contract is TOO long!
Well, now I know why ADT has you sign a 3 YEAR contract. Because they suck! I have the 'smoke' detector / fire alarm in my house. Installed 04/2019. To date (09/2020) this has malfunctioned 3 times due to humidity. Seriously! The fire department has showed up at my house twice for HUMIDITY! 3 years cannot end soon enough!! Overall my neighborhood is safe and I do not need this service. Sig Sauer will protect me if I need it!! And if I am not home they can have whatever they can carry out!
Bad experience
Bad experience. Adt sent someone from Safe Street to do installation. I was upgrading my current, but he spent more time on selling than installing. After being here six hours he had only disconnected my system and installed two doorbell cameras. After several attempts we were unable to get it to work from my cell. He said I need to sign the contract and he would have it working before he left. I refuse to sign and told him to just cancel the whole thing. He then wanted me to talk to someone else to explain things to me. I refuse. He left without even reconnecting my system back up. Now I have no security. Called several time and was put on hold over 30 min. I finally talked to safe street after being on hold for 45 min. He told me he was sorry but they could not fix it cause it was not their equipment. It wasn't their equipment when they disconnected it either. Beware of Safe Street. I'm very disappointed in ADT for sending this man to my house. I hope all of you are feeling safe cause I sure dont.
Door-to-door salesman
Door-to-door salesman, really? I just had an ADT rep knocking on my door saying that he's looking for the new homeowner. Keep your salesman off my property or the next time I call the cops. Yes, there is a no trespassing sign and there is already a security system in place.

I moved from my home in July and called to cancel my Adt account. They continue trying to take money from my credit card. I refused the charge so they sent me a letter telling me to pay. What a horrible company.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. I have been trying to cancel my service with them for 1.5 years now and they keep charging me and claiming it is canceled but it has not been. We have offered to pay the full term amount in the past to cancel and be done but they refused. We are now months past the contract time and despite my efforts to cancel they have auto renewed the contract. We have done the fax in cancellation paperwork 2x, made multiple calls and waated sonmuchbtime and monry on this company. I have not even lived in the house the service is still at in 2 years. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. I have no good words for them. Steer clear.
Unethical, Lying Scumbags!
The most dishonest, thieving unethical company I have ever dealt with. Lies, lies and more lies! Their Tulsa salesman offered me a package deal and then attempted a bait and switch when the installer arrived. Never completed the install, but attempted to charge me the monthly service charge for an incomplete install that rendered the system useless. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT ADT! You will get ripped off!
Unprofessional in Every Aspect
They lie to you, tell you one thing on the phone and then come out to install and it is completely different than what was agreed upon. They steal money by running cards they have no right to run. This company is horrible in all aspects.
Worst service every
Paid for service and equipment $199. They didn't add all the window sensors said I didn't say I had windows. Was on the phone for almost 2 hours. Then was told it would take 7 to 14 business days to get my money back. So mad
No shows
I set up an appointment with ADT on 9/19/2020 between 8 and 9 am. At 9:30, the ADT person did not show. Called support and spoke with a manager. He set up an appointment for 9/24/2020. Guess what? That's right, a no show again. Called ADT again and spoke with another manager. Same story that she could not believe this happened and she would look into it. She told me they do not even have appointments available until sometime in October. So at this point I told her I wanted a refund (this is the nice version). DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY OR PROMISE!!! I would not recommend this company at all.
Terrible Service!
Since ADT installed our system about two months ago, we have had two failures of our front door sensor. The first time, they said they would send a new battery that I could install myself. It took over two weeks for the battery to arrive, but I was able to install it myself. However, after another month, the same sensor failed again. This time, after waiting over 30 minutes to talk to an agent, she told me the soonest they could send a technician to repair the problem was three weeks! Meanwhile, our system remains useless as the front door cannot be sensed and protected. This is unacceptable service for a company that charges top dollar - and spends a fortune on advertising. I am not a happy customer.

I used ADT for 20 years and have never had such a bad experience. Never use these greedy corporate robots. If you move while under contract, you may as well look forward to paying for services you’ll never get. I had to pay for the remainder of the contract plus the two months it took them to cancel the service. Over $500.00 for service never received and I’ll never use them again.
ADT is heartless
ADT is heartless. NEVER EVER EVER make a contract with this company. My husband died in March, and I've had to sell my house. I had intended to use ADT at my new location, though it won't be ready for 5 months. I've had five different phone calls to notify ADT of my personal circumstances. Each time I was on hold for 25+ mins and transferred at least 3 times. Every time there was no consistency in how this would be handled. Each time I asked for clarification, I was told conflicting information. Today, I was told ADT won't waive the fees for the remainder of the contract until I can establish new services. Despite our contract being over 2/3s complete, their stance is "a contract is a contract." No exceptions. No waivers. Even for such extenuating circumstances. I am not someone who a few months into the service abruptly decided on a whim I no longer wanted it. My husband DIED. And, now I'll have to pay over $500. HEARTLESS company. These are the types of things that make all of corporate America look bad.

Worst experience ever in my life from any company in my lifetime of 50 years. Buyers please get into any other home security company other than ADT. I have completed the contract for two years with them following which they kept charging my credit card even after I had called him specifically to cancel it they kept charging for several more months and after I complained and stated that I’m going to get the legal involved they started giving calls from the customer service every single day from recorded line and recording everything that we are talking and saying on the record line you’re trying to help you were trying to help you and connecting me to the billing department trying to help and every single day 2 to 3 hours wasted talking to many many people and ATT customer sales were being paid for doing basically nothing and charging the innocent customers I did tell them the hardship of losing the job and moving and everything they would not listen all they want is their money they don’t care about anything else they want to be there basically useless customer service representatives for doing nothing and fill their pocket. They should be reported and stopped . God bless our America from companies like this ! I am about to suggest all my best friends to get up from this company And do everything possible to post in every single form on what has happened with my personal experience and one of my neighbors as well.

Purchased a new home in april of 2020..got adt and it was the worst company ive ever delt with..its september and havent had a workable alarm system in 8 weeks. When i call i stay on the phone for 45 min waiting for someone to answer. Last time i called they told me that they would have a tech come to the house and fix it. 8 weeks later not even a call. Spoke with the bbb and my lawyer about the situation and they told me to get out of the contract. Well on the phone again now and been on hold for 34 minutes. This is the worst company i have ever did business with.

Terrible service and unethical sales technics. I had about three technicians coming in to troubleshoot the failed communication annoying beeping noise that keeps happening. Interesting enough that didn’t happen until my contract with expired! It ended up it’s a sale pitch they want you to buy new equipment and sign a new contract. As soon as I canceled my account the noise is Magically gone. I truly think they are doing this on purpose so they can lock you in into a new contract and force you to buy new equipment. I informed the attorney general and the BBB through a well documented complaint. I hope nest take them out of business

If I could I would give them negative stars. This is the second security company I've been with in two different homes and I'm going back to the first one because they respond to customer issues and have equipment that doesn't constantly break down. They're more expensive and well worth it. Two months and four service visits and it still doesn't work right. Their own service people talk bad about their equipment and tell you that the fix probably won't work. ADT Insecurity Monitoring is what they are.
Don't go with them if you plan on moving
Wish I could give negative stars. Talk about a company taking advantage of people. Was never told that if I moved, I would have to extend my contract or pay 75%. Regardless of this being in small print on a contract, this should be one of the FIRST things you tell someone who is looking to have you install security in their home. Why am I not allowed to move without extending? Comcast lets me move my services without extending my contract, my phone company lets me, pretty much everything but ADT. And if I pay to have them transfer my service, then it shouldn't be an issue. We also weren't made aware that we could have paid off at that point instead of transferring our service. Which is what we would have done and gone with another company. After having our home broken into and our valuables and important documents stolen, we came to this company hoping to feel safe again. Only to be deceived.
Technicians also turn rude when you decline the things they try to up sale you. Really disappointed in this company, definitely thought that they had integrity, but instead they take advantage of people.

I was told that there would not be any fees or penalties for cancelling the ADT if I am moving my home. But be aware that they will charge you 75% of remaining months even if you are not using the service. This is a terrible contract I have ever seen.
Archaic, expensive and non-responsive.
I've been a customer of ADT for now 3 years. I can state without reservation that I would not recommend this company to anyone. For example: I put an addition on my house, and wanted to add equipment to it for protection. Basically 2 glass breaks, 2 door contacts and a smoke detector and an extra keypad. This equipment rose to almost $800. They took a full day to install, which was because they used a subcontractor who had no idea what he was doing. So when they had to come back and fix his mistakes (along with the holes he left in my new walls), they elected to charge me a service fee, and not even issue a refund for the equipment they removed. This has since been corrected, after I called them at least a dozen times, called the local branch managers at least 6 times and never got any response. Their customer service is inexcusable - especially for the price and the fact they just "locked in" the rate I pay monthly for monitoring for three years. I'm stuck with them, but hope you don't have to be!

If there were a way to give ZERO stars, I would. Also, I will be letting every single person I know or come into contact with know to never use this company. And I work for a very large home builder, so that will be a lot of people that will know. I have had issues with my system for a month now. I cannot use the alarm. The alarm goes off every night at 1:15AM and I am unable to go back to sleep due to being woken up in the middle of the night - every night. I call customer service, no one can assist. Three times technicians have been here. Nothing gets fixed. No managers will call you back - you have to call them and wait on hold for hours, and there is never a resolution. I have had service appointments set for dates and times that have not been confirmed with me, and the only way I know about the appointment time is that I call to report the alarm going off in the middle of the night. I have had service appointments set and then canceled only hours later due to no technician being available. So basically, I was lied to, and o one was ever going to come, they just told me they would so I would be appeased for the moment. I am paying for a service that I cannot use, and paying for a system that I spent thousands of dollars having installed in my home that I regret getting now, due to the malfunction of the system and due to the customer service, or lack there of, that ADT provides. Terrible company, terrible system. Stay away.

Contacted them on August 2020 to inquire about their service & cost. I am on a fixed income so the cost was paramount. After a great deal of time on the phone w ADT, I told her i was shopping around. She put her supervisor on the phone to "give me her special deal of $48.99." They kept trying to add more in the package. Once again, I said I needed it to be at the price quoted & no higher. I asked if it included taxes. She said yes. When the installer came out he spent more time trying to convince me to add to my package. I said "no." I received my 1st bill today for $65/month. What a horrible way to conduct business. My income is a little over $1,000/mo. I would never have signed up if I knew this. I asked for assurance several times that my bill would be what was quoted. I don't appreciate being lied to.
