I flip homes and got SCAMMED
I flip homes and installed ADT in two recent homes. Now when I notify them of the sale they tell me I owe over $1400 in my contract. A contract nobody ever mentioned. I’d never do that on a flip. The install paperwork is pages of tiny print. Total SCAM. AVOID ADT!!! Now they just threaten me with a lawyer from corporate. That’s how they treat customers.

I got ADT to save $20/month from VIVID. DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE I MADE. In my neighborhood and my car got robbed. I was asked by the police to see if I can provide a video camera. I couldn't find a SAVED video. I called ADT they said when they installed it they didn't have it on SAVED CAMERA SO THEY DIDN'T HAVE A VIDO TO PROVIDE ME FOR POLICE REPORT. They apologized. When I asked for a refund of 3 months that wasn't on the saved MOOD they said they will not refund me $59 but would give me $9 for "camera not saved". I AM STUCK WITH THEM FOR 36 MONTHS AND WILL FIGHT THIS BUT I DIDN'T WANT ANYONE TO TRUST THEM FOR YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY.

Poor customer service
We had ADT and we moved to another state. We were told we could not break our contract but once we moved to the new home they broke the contract and then attempted to charge us $10 more month because this was a new contract. After much haggling we retained our original fees. Then we spent $1800 on a new system for the house and the first time we armed it one of the doors was bypassed. They refused to send a technician out and after a half hour call where we were hung up on once we finally got one to come two weeks from now. We were never rude to them but they hung up when we asked for a manager. So that means after spending $1800 our home is not secure for the next two weeks. The positives, the keypad is intuitive and the system is easy to arm or disarm from an app on your phone. The negative is once you sign a contract the customer service is dreadful.

Horrible customer service do not use this company
My System was installed in September 2020 it worked well until March 2021. First I started getting false alarms. The ones at 3:00am and 4:00am were the best. I called for service and they tried to repair it over the phone, the guy could not repair it. I requested that a service guy to come to my house, he never showed up. I called back and asked for a manager to return my call, received no call back. Yesterday one of the sensors just fell off the window. The equipment is junk ! I called back again and finally after I was on hold for close to twenty minutes I just gave up. I have a non working alarm for almost a month and counting.

Public Service Announcement DO NOT EVER use ADT Seriously one of the most dishonest and unethical companies I have EVER dealt with. They have a contract that allows them to change terms, go back on what they promised when you sign up and then trap you in a contract. When I moved to CO, they double charged me and were not even monitoring my home there. THEN, they restarted my contract when they fixed it and when I moved to a no service area, they charged me $1,500 for the remainder of my "contract" When I moved, the $2,000 worth of equipment that I 'Invested in" would not be transfered, and they said a tech would remove and re-install if I ever moved...which they said they would not do when the time came because the contract changed (which they will do any time you try to hold them accountable to what they promised" I"ve been dealing with it for TWO YEARS and they have a portion in the contract that says you cant take them to court. I looked up any review sight and you will see this is across the board with all their customers. It has been a horrible experience, i've spent HOURS on the phone and tears...and now they still want me to pay an additional $1,500 on top of everything. For services they cant even provide!! So, if i can save anyone this horrible experience....it's worth sharing....DO NOT USE ADT !!! There are many other options these days.

I signed up with ADT about 11 months…
Update 04/02/2022 someone named Tim from ADT reached out in response to my review below. I emailed him as he asked. Long story short, he essentially told me my cameras aren't compatible with the internet provider I have. He said power loss (hasn't been an issue) or internet connectivity can cause the camera recording and clip storage to go down. There is only one internet provider in my city and I have the highest package they offer. It seems odd I haven't had internet connectivity issues and this suddenly started happening 8 months into my ADT contract. Tim further informed me that the $65 credit I received for my camera systems being down for a combined total of almost 2 months was generous considering that the camera monitoring is only $11/month of the total bill. Weird, I don't receive a monthly bill with any itemization for services provided. Sounds like hot air and definitely not a way to treat customers. ADT may well just tell customers once they sign the contract they're out of luck if they experience any issues. No way I'm continuing to pay for services that aren't working. -----‐----------------------------- I signed up with ADT about 11 months ago. I purchased 2 cameras, 6 door monitors, and the command panel upfront. I signed up for monthly monitoring on a 36-month contract with a 6-month money-back guarantee. The money-back 6-month cancel option looks amazing on paper. My services were great for the first 8 months. Then suddenly my cameras stopped storing clips, monitoring motion, etc. I called 3 to 4 times to resolve this. I was told verbatim, if you go over your 6,000 monthly clip limit, the system will shut down due to the "recording rules," and that it would have to be reset each time the limit was reached. The last time I called a tech was sent out. He called into tech support after I showed him emails from ADT regarding notifications about my clip usage (I was nowhere near the limit two of the times the system shut down). I logged into my account with the tech and showed him that my clip limit was never reached and that it was way lower than the limit. The tech from tech support told the service tech that came to my home that I did exceed the limit and that he was reviewing my account as they spoke. I also had my laptop open and was in my account, which shows thousands less clips than he was reporting from his end. Long story short, the service tech couldn't figure out what was causing it beyond what the support tech guy was saying. This is a bait and switch in my opinion. Zero problems in the first 8 months and now magical, unsolvable issues keep recurring. I've recorded the situations showing the cameras not operating or recording clips during the shutdowns. I've stored screenshots of the clips used showing I wasn't near the limit. I just may cancel and refuse to pay the cancelation fee. There's no way I should be paying for a service that stops working once a month (2 weeks it was shutdown the first time before I realized the camera was not recording motion or storing clips). ADT is terrible, I do not recommend them at all. You'll get locked into a contract and during the 6-month cancelation period won't experience any problems.

Unpleasant, annoying sellers, and they hang up the phone !!!
I spent two days calling them to hire them, in one call I had to go in and say that it was the first time I had called to be attended to, the salesperson laughed at me and hung up, I have been a client for more than 6 years with my current company of alarms, what a disappointment, what a humiliating way to treat new clients. NO TECHNICIANS TO ASSIST!?
You guys are messing my dad, an elderly pensioner, around. His alarm has not been working properly for DAYS, giving false alarms every day, day and night. He is receiving countless phone calls and you refuse to fix the problem and then you tell him you are going to charge him for each time you have to go out, for a problem YOU have FAILED TO FIX!? My dad can't sleep at night without getting a phone call from you and there is no sense of urgency from you to fix this? He can't leave the house without getting a phone call from you. Obviously all you care about is your money at the end of the month, what kind of service of this? I am DISGUSTED

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
DO NOT GET ADT. I have ADT service and I once had people trespass on my property with the intent to steal the copper out of my HVAC unit. They were in my backyard for almost an hour with this attempt, with my functional ADT camera less than 50 feet away. [Im shortening this review] When I called ADT to recover the missing video footage, I was told that ADT can not provide the missing video footage to me because to do so would be a privacy violation.. Yes you heard right. It's MY HOME, I'm buying it NOT renting, someone trespasses on MY property in an attempt to burglarize me. THE FACTS: They were on my property for almost an hour, my ADT camera only recorded (3) thirty sec clips, "with the correct settings" and when I called ADT to ask for the missing video footage of the violators on my property, I was told by ADT that they can not provide the video because to do so would be a violation of privacy.. YOU CANT MAKE THIS UP!

Adt is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I canceled my account but then they still charge me for monitoring. I called them trying to get this straighten out, I talked to 6 different people when they transferred me to the 7th person, they hung up the phone. Basically, they can't see my account in the system(hence the cancellation) but you still charge me. I gave them all the information they needed, account#, address, phone number, name...everything. Still can't find the account. The new owner of my house has started service so they are currently charging me for the new owners account. But how conviently...we still can't see any transactions for the account. They told me that if the new owner immediately opened an account then they would not charge me for breaking my contract. Thats a lie. Because not only are they charging me for monitoring. They are charging me $1200 for contract $1300 for equipment and $51 for a monitoring service that isnt mine. My advise. Use anybody but them and I truly mean anybody. The customer service is a joke, the reps have not clue. In addtion, since I gave them my forwarding address, my daughters house, they have now added her bill to my non exisiting account. Wow, I'm in shock. Can't understand how an account could be messed up this bad. I am highly pissed.

Senior Citizen Adt Home Security and Horrible Service
I signed my mom's home with adt home service. I wanted a piece of mind while she lives alone. From the beginning there was a glitch in the hardware, it would turn on and alert the police randomly, and there have been times while I was visiting her and witnessed this myself. This happened several times in less that 2 months. My mom a senior citizen would call their customer service and they would suggest the dog, car, air conditioner and she would say no I live alone. The worst part isnt the faulty product but the awful customer service that would hang up on my mom. Tell her she already called X amount of times today and they can't do anything for her. When she asked to stop the service because in less than 2 months, the police was alerted as I was on my ADT blue app more than 6X. They told her she had to pay 800 for the cancelation fee when she didn't sign any agreements. Im aware that everyone is remote in 2022 but this is downright lazy and fraudulent business practice. I wouldn't recommend this business or service to anyone.

The Security Company That Was Supposed to Keep Me Safe Pretty Much Robbed Me
I put in a work order for $600. While I was at work, the tech got my family member, who let him in, to install additional equipment. My bill was $1,400. Numerous calls, hours on the phone...only led to them threatening to charge me over $2,000 for a contract I didn't even sign. They also billed me for two addresses instead of one because they failed to transfer the service.

They use to be good before Covid-19 but now the service they offer is very poor. The help-desk over the phone is still good but it's almost impossible to get an engineer to attend to faults. I hope the service levels return to normal again in the near future.

This is the WORST company ever!
This is the WORST company ever!! They take advantage of the elderly!!! Charge exsorbant prices for services & their contract!! They pull the 30 day cancellation crap & charge for services AFTER you cancel the contract!! They even STILL take money out of bank accounts even after you cancel the Ezpay!! That is theft!!! Their customer service representatives are the rudest & most unprofessional people!!! DO NOT PURCHASE SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They are RIPOFF!!!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST
If I could give a 0 I would. This service sucks badly. Please stay away. Read all reviews before thinking about going with them. They charge you for new equipment if you move and extend contract, they will send a tech out for any things that go wrong but it will never fix the issue. They will charge you for the remaining contract for cancelling when the contract is void when not able to provide services they promised and say they didn't promise anything. They are the worst!!!

Can’t wait to get to court
Long story. Finally got ADT to cancel my contract after 1 week. Said a tech would have to come out and remove the equipment. A free service call. Had all the equipment waiting for him on my dining room table.Pictures available. He said he needed to go to his truck and remove the batteries. Sat out there for 30 minutes.tThen came in said goodbye and sat out there longer probably 25 minutes . Thankfully due to deceptive business practices experienced that drove me to cancel services I had a neighbor recording our entire interaction. Little old lady sitting quietly recording on a phone. Later that night I received a bill for 100 dollars. The tech signed for me swearing I agreed to the charge verbally 🤣🤣🤣. The charge ? HIS time to remove the equipment. I can’t wait for them to try to take me to court. Addendum. ADT replied to this review asking me to send them my address etc. via email.I am not as it is futile I did this on Twitter already and provided the details. They forwarded to local office that serviced my account and promised I would be contacted . Still waiting. Also waiting after I provided the same info to Customer Relations. Also waiting from the previous day contact. All I can think is the local office is too busy charging up unsuspecting peoples credit cards to respond. Just do yourself a favor. Check with the Better Business Bureau before contracting with them. I wish I had.

This review relates to ADT UK. Having been told about digital voice by BT and advised to check with the alarm company prior to the service being installed in my area. I did so and was horrified to be told it would cost me £262. to have the system altered and that the monitoring would cost an extra £15. I opted to cancel the contract at the end of this month as the cost I feel is exorbitant. My email of dissatisfaction was, I am told, forwarded to the retention department who to date have not replied.

ADT monitoring started on my home years ago well I really shouldn't say monitoring as soon as I got ADT with a code to the alarm my house is broken into I kept the service after complaining and every month they go into my checking account and take out their money the service I get for that is nothing my alarm goes off I never received a phone call from them and they never act on my behalf to let you know how disjointed the service is I receive emails from them asking me to sign up for their service it's unfortunate they don't even know that I pay for a service that I don't get and they never correct it

I joined trust pilot around May/June last year I have more than my share of bad service in the last few weeks I have had several appointments with them for an engineer to call it must be around. Six times no one turns up I checked with them this morning to confirm an engineer appointment for today I have stayed in all day no one has turned up again I have no alternative but to cancel my alarm system with them today Their customer service is non existent

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY! Bait and switch, menacing threats, untrustworthy service, high price tags and services that dont even work. No one is held accountable, no one cares about the customer and no one wants to help me with customer service. 6 Month money back guarantee is a lie and they will not make it easy even if the system flat out does not work. Keep records of everything, i.e. phone recording (check local laws to make sure your get consent if necessary) because they will absolutely not have any record of any thing they do

I have been a loyal ADT customer for 20 Years…
I have been a loyal ADT customer for over 20 years and have never had any real issues until NOW. On January 31, 2022 I contacted ADT because my panel was receiving a low battery alert for one of my sensors. I explained to the customer service rep that I replaced the battery, but I was still receiving the message on the panel. The rep ran some tests and was unable to fix the issue and suggested that the sensor could have gone bad as sometimes when things get old they do. She stated that I have two options: one she could send me a sensor to replace the old one and I could mount it myself with the support of a tech person virtually or they could schedule a tech to come out. I asked whether replacing the sensor was difficult and she stated no so I agreed to have the sensor sent to me and she scheduled be a virtual visit on February 9, 2022. On February 9, 2022 a tech support person called and began to walk me through the process of getting me sensor activated and mounted. I want to say that I was asked to click on a link that she sent so that my camera would be on and she could see as I was following her instructions. After nearly two hours on the phone we were able to get the sensor to work. I assumed everything was good until I set the alarm that night to stay. The following morning when my son woke up to get dressed for school he walked passed the sensor and the the alarm went off. I thought this was strange but I did not know why until it happened again. I contacted ADT and was advised that it was possible that the sensor was faulty and she could send me another so that I could try again. I agreed and and was once again scheduled for a virtual appointment on February 18, 2022. Please note that due to this issue, my system was not working properly and would not allow me to arm. I was given a bypass code so that I could arm it, but I still felt this was not secure enough. On February 18, 2022, once again I was connected to a Tech support person with my camera on and we walked through the process of getting my sensor to work. Again I was on the telephone with the tech for an hour to no avail. The sensor did not work. At this point the tech support explained that they have tried unsuccessfully to get the sensor to work and at this time a Tech would need to come out to my home. As you can imagine I was not happy because I knew that ADT would charge me a fee. The Tech was scheduled for February 26, 2022 between 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. The tech shoed up at my house and within five to seven minutes explained that the sensor was mounted correctly, however it was on the wrong zone. WHAT!!!!!! I explained to him that I have spent a month working with tech support virtually and not one person realized that the zone was not set correctly. How the hell would I know this? I contacted ADT to explain all of this to them this morning and was basically advised that the $59.00 service fee could not be removed or reversed because a tech had to come out to my home. Again I stressed that a tech only had to come out because your tech support virtually could not get it right. Again as I have stated, I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and have never been late making a payment nor have I had any real issues with my service. However, I cannot wait until my contract is over because I will be cancelling. ADT needs to do better!
