Adt pulled the old "bait and switch" on…
Adt pulled the old "bait and switch" on me. When I called they quoted me a new customer package including 2 cameras, 16 window and door sensors and 1 motion detector for 899.00. I was told anything more would be additional. I was fine with that. They came out a couple days later to do install, I added extra. The tech that came out knew nothing of the 899 deal and told me he could give me 6 sensors,one camera and 1 motion detector for 699. We went back and forth for 2 hours trying to get what I was promised. After speaking with his supervisor twice, he said he couldn't do anything more but after install I could call the office and they could listen to initial call and refund anything I was overcharged.BIG LIE. I got my install in May and have made 15 calls,2 letters to the BBB and stopped payment on 550 of the 3000 with my cc company, I had paid for equipment at the day of install. Every call I was assured a supervisor would listen to call. Not once out of 15 times did I get a call. Even after letters to BBB and stopping credit card did anyone call to address my issues. Great customer service huh? My cc company found in my favor and removed 550 from charge. Well adt is now billing me and harassing me for the 550?? I explained that when the bank finds in your favor, the company can't just ignore that and bill it for us. They say they can and refuse to speak to me anymore. Even though I used them because I thought they were the best. They don't care Do yourself a favor, find another company. RIP OFF

ADT has the worst customer service…
ADT has the worst customer service ever. I cannot get an appointment to get them to come to my house and fix their system that I pay a premium for. I would not recommend them or trust them in any situation if they cannot even call us back.

Wow, adt FAILLLLLLLLLL
Wow, I wish I had searched this before. Now I have to leave another confirmation like the ones before me about how adt doesn’t know left from right. If you are reading this, their services work until a problem arises. Then the transfer game starts and your time will be wasted. Spent 7 hours trying to get them to fix a Google nest subscription because of the lack of knowledge, training, and accountability. The reps will lie, give your wrong information and then transfer you to someone else. They don’t care and there won’t be any consequences. You know why there are no surveys like other companies, because everyone will give them a 1 star. I would give them 0 stars if I could. It’s a freaking joke.

I complained to the Better Business…
I complained to the Better Business Bureau and ADT when I was charged for 14 months with no connection or activity between March 2022 through APRIL 2023, I was charged $59.00 for a house call when the tech told me that ADT will claim that as the customer that I need to know how to test my connection myself. The last straw was that my alarm went off on 9/11/2023 and 10/16/2023 and I received VM messages that I needed to contact ADT to confirm that the alarms were false. I did not respond to either message, because I had no notifications that I received them and authorities were never contacted. My house could have burned down and I would never have had a heads up at $500.00 per year membership. NO MORE!!!!! ADT is the Worst!!

Many different problems
Many different problems. When they do the installation, they do not tell you the batteries in the sensors will have to be replaced, they don't tell you how to take down or open the censors. Control panel will start beeping, there is NO way to get the censor down. Happened on a Sunday evening which means a 3 hour wait time to talk to ADT. Turned system off, called ADT next day and they told me to use a kitchen knife to take the censor down. Totally wrong. You are supposed to remove the top cover of the censors, not take them off the walls. Customer Reps literally know nothing, and give customers really bad advice. They don't understand when the wires are out of the control box so they set up a phone consultation repair rather than sending out a tech and did not tell me. Of course phone consult fails in total and they had to reschedule a new appointment for a tech to come out. The tech messed up a motion detector and just turned it off, just disabled it rather than fixing it. Yesterday tech had me sign 2 invoices, did not tell me anything about the charges. He charged me $230 and a second charge of $52. I was told tech appointment would cost $52. On top of all of that, when I had a Ring Doorbell installed, I got conned into a new 2 year contract on ADT, did not know that. So, I am moving and ADT wants $700 for the contract when I stayed off a new contract for a year and a half because I had heard about the big money ADT gets when you move. I was conned without my knowledge into a 2-year contract just because I had a Ring doorbell put in. The customer service reps have no knowledge of anything, get mad, try to talk over you while giving out false information. The technicians rip you off to the max for the company and the company uses any way it can to get you into another contract so it can get big money if you cancel it. I emailed ADT, responded to their response to me in here. I presented all the issues, numbered each issue. ADT ignored all of it, all of it, and did a one-line response that it was entitled to charge me almost $300 for same job a tech did before for $54. I wasted a lot of time communicating with them, all to no avail. When ADT responds in here, all they are looking to do is find out who you are so they can justify their charges and they will send you a notice telling you that you own the equipment. I made the mistake of responding to ADT's reply to me. I thought they would deal with some of the problems. Nope, it was a ploy to check my account, lie that $300 charges for a service call is normal, ignore the fact that their customer service people have not one clue about anything. This is a very corrupt company.

ADT/Protection one/Buyer BEWARE!!!!!
This ADT/P1 10/2023 to 11/16/2023 (this was a recent event) Tech took pics and videos of our home he thought I didn't notice what he doing. Also, he was calling out loud the names and numbers of the motion detectors that were going to be replaced at the panel while holding his cell phone possibly speaking to someone and or recording that information. Next, the tamper-proof motion detectors that were working in the attic and the family room he took them and replaced them. I didn't understand why he took the working tamper-proof motion detector we had in the front family room out. He claimed that the tamper-proof motion detectors were defective and needed to be changed and he would change it out for a regular motion detector. So now if someone takes off the motion detector the panel won't acknowledge it. He also switched out the motion detector in the attic. I know for a fact the attic motion detector was working because we set the alarm before he went up in the attic and it went off as he went up there. Also while he was up in the attic I followed him I could see him on the low low taking pics of the attic and where the motion detector was placed this was very strange to me. A lot of these ADT/P1 techs have been suspected of doing these types of sneaky things. After this time another ADT/P1 Tech came out techs to get my cameras back online this guy was taking pics of the camera information with his cell phone and when I confronted him about it we got into an argument. After he left I immediately called ADT/P1 support to let them know what this tech had done and to confirm the tech's name so I could file a police report and they didn't want to give me his name. I already had his name anyway then a few days later my camera system was hacked I have not been able to use them since because the hackers see what I see. Then before that This ADT/P1 tech claimed there was a "panel chip upgrade" The ADT/P1 tech who came out to update the alarm panel switched a Verizon chip for an AT&T chip. Now as he called into the support center to test the system after the upgrade he stated to the young lady that he was also changing out the Verizon chip. Now I could hear her on his phone. She clearly stated to him why he was doing that there was nothing wrong with it on our end. But he changed it out anyway and it has been having problems ever since. Oh, I'm not done yet with this last ADT/P1 Tech who came out I had spoken to a person claiming to be a sales manager I explained my issues about the extra motion detectors and a car garage door opener detector and they could put back the tamper-proof motion detectors that switched out. once scheduled. This ADT/P1 Tech name: wasted my time he did nothing but record the inside of my home and the garage claiming 1. They don't use the old tamper-proof detectors anymore. But that's not what the sales manager told me. He sent me the paperwork via email. 2. ADT/P1Tech started that the garage motion sensor was stuck and wouldn't let him release it.? And nothing can be done at this time. This did not make any sense the alarm wasn't set. It's apparent these ADT/P1 Techs don't know what they're doing or they doing what they're doing and they're trying to set up people's homes to get burglarized... Now I'm sure someone has access to our alarm system because it does countdowns by itself it does one thing while the panel is showing another. We woke up the next day and on the panel, it showed the alarm went off but we didn't hear it. I took pics of this panel. I have documented these events because I know someone has been in our home while we're not here and It's like someone other than us has access to our alarm system. So all this with the help of ADT. This is like ADT/alarm.com, / Protection 1 are helping the criminals break- into our home. Because someone else has access to our alarm system. I have the proof.

I could get no technical support from…
I could get no technical support from ADT when batteries were not working and sensors were not working. I called to cancel my account, was assured it was cancelled, and just received yet another bill. When I called and asked about that, I was told I had been signed up for another 6 months (instead of being cancelled) and that I would be charged for that time.

Don’t waste your time! They won’t honor their own guarantee!
I have tried to cancel my service with ADT several times now and they have not been helpful in the process and will do anything and everything to pretend like they’re trying to cancel. ALSO, they have a 6-month money back guarantee which they ARE NOT HONORING. I am well within the 6-month mark but they are dragging this out as much as they can and it is an absolute waste of time.

ADT wouldn't let us cancel the service
October 9th,2023 I contacted ADT through online chat to cancel the ADT service. I was told by my agent after a while i can't cancel over the chat. So I called ADT service after waiting on the line for atleast 1 hr I got hold of someone, she tried to convince me to upgrade and keep the same monthly fee. I told her i am not interested and like the service to end the same day. She said ok. I asked her whether I'll get an confirmation email regarding the cancellation. She said yes. After a while I noticed a email regarding upgrade with email subject proposal. I thought she sill tried to sell the products I thought eventually I receive the email about cancellation. Noticed after few days my adt panel still active and then i replied to the email(proposal) that i called regrading cancellation i requested to cancel the service. As of today 11/19/2023 ADT wouldn't cancel my service, keep sending bills. We never signed up for any contract with ADT should be able to cancel anytime without any penalty.

WASTE their time
WASTE their time. ADT is a SCAM and fraud. Have a "salesman" evaluate your house, and "design" a system but DO NOT give them any financial info. IF they won't come out without a credit card, THAT will tell you everything you need to know. These people are pure evil.

Horrific customer service practices
I called to cancel my service in August-it wasn't working and I didn't want it anymore. I was left on hold for 115 min. I decided to try their chat function- this person said they couldn't help me and said I needed to call. I called again and the lady hung up on me when I said I needed to cancel. I wrote a letter (with my signature) and mailed it. I continued to receive bills- I called again in Sept. and was left on hold for 90 min. I then emailed-this email string has been going since Oct. ADT wants money for a service that doesn't work and was cancelled in Sept. They said to cancel they need my signature- I told her I sent a letter with a signature- no they need it again- I emailed a signature - I still am receiving bills. Now- this service hasn't worked since August! It is my opinion that when someone calls to cancel, they leave you on hold indefinitely on purpose. The hoops you have to jump through seem made up. I have been a loyal customer for 20 years and this experience has left a foul taste in my mouth,

Terrible company
Absolutely terrible company with rude employees. They will not tell you the entire parameters to what you are signing and will raise your monthly bill without notice. I’m stuck with this company for another 23 months. 0/10 company. All of my cameras are not working and have spoken to 14+ people with no help since they are all still not working.

I would rate ADT zero stars if possible. I have spent hours on the phone trying to connect with the app. Impossible. Incompetent to the core. I can't even connect with them to cancel the service! Suggest you never use this horrible company.

They are horrible. I signed a contract that I didn’t realize I signed. I explained to the employee that my house was renter property for an investment. I have tried to reach with 5 people regarding my account. They are the worse. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS COMPANY ALARM SYSTEM. I tried calling them 5 times because they were charging me for the cameras before I received the camera and they did not call me back. I MEAN DO NOT GET THIS SYSTEM. I thought this company stopped having contracts. They only swindle me because I reviewed this contract online. Never again. FYI, I reached out after I read, they review. ADT, I will never purchase your company again. I will always use VIVINT for security company. ADT IS HORRIBLE.

ADT would not send technican to fix a broken system no matter what
ADT would not send a technician to our home to fix a broken lock!!!!! i posted a review saying that and they responded by saying that we should send a description of problem and a phone number and they will get abck to us but without stating where should we send this.....so again everything they can do to avoid sending a technician to our house. I just called ADT again today, went through the different departments and reached after 30 minutes the service who is supposed to schedule technicians. the lady who answered who presented herself as Ashley (if this is her actual name) said that even though she answered the phone saying she is the one scheduling technicians she cannot schedule technicians and if i need my lock that is malfunctioning to be replaced i need to talk to sales. I will keep posting every day to update you all of the progress of this system ADT has put in place to make sure they only send technicians to the house for sales but they would not repair your system no matter what.

Don't ever have a problem with your system. After 18 years as a customer, I all but begged them to send a service person to the house, and to no avail. First I spent 40 minutes listening to a woman named Miriam tell me to buy a random battery for my front door (which turned out to be the wrong one). She told me to have it ready for the VIRTUAL tech who she scheduled to call within the hour! Really? Hilarious in a way, huh? Question: Why didn't I speak to a real tech the first time? omgoodness.

I had ADT for about 1 year while I was renting my home. Then I bought a house and call them to see if there was anyway that I can cancel service and restarted on my new address and the representative said yes. I wasn’t canceling to get a new company, I was moving. A few months later I get a bill for 697.00. The representative should have been more clear to me. So upset. Now they have me on collections. I asked ADT to listen to my conversation with the representative and they refused to do so. I guess I will go to court and fight it.

This is one of the worst companies
This is one of the worst companies, don't ever get it. So this is one of the companies that call you when you become homeowner. They will offer cameras and stuff for a good price, but then put hidden fees and/or don't give you all that they said they would. They offer cameras and sensors, only gave me sensors and didn't honored their no cancelation fee before 6 months. I spent 2 weeks calling for 2 hours, they would hang up on me until I told them I would pay cancelation fee. What a scam. If you know what's best don't learn that hard way like me and get cameras from Amazon

Worst company ever. DO NOT GET ADT! They will trap you into 3-5year contracts and no way to get out of it even if you move and don’t need the services. They will charge you for all the months left on the contract as cancellation fee. What a joke and what a big scam. Why bind people with contracts if you didn’t have crap to hide. You won’t need to trap people into contracts if you weren’t a scam. I can’t believe in this day and age we still have these scam contracts. They will not pick up your phone or give a crap after they get you to sign the contract. The technicians are all uselsss and have no idea what they are doing. Do yourself a favor, and buy all the security monitoring tools they provide on google and you can do a better job keeping yourself safe. No one need these companies anymore. We have everything we need on the market to keep safe nowadays. Shame on you ADT. Update 11/15/23- this is ADT response after I emailed them at alwaysthere @adt.com per their reply to my review: “Hello, Thank you for reaching out regarding your review on Trustpilot. We see that you recently inquired about canceling the services as a result of moving. Moving to another location does not warrant release of the monitoring contract that was established. When signing the contract, customers are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined in that agreement and are also provided with 3 business days to cancel their order if they to not wish to move forward with that contract agreement. In order to be eligible for release of contract, the following conditions would need to be met. A) the new owners of the home sign a new contract under their name and maintain the services past their 3-day right to cancel. B) A military move via PCS orders. C) the account holder has to move into an assisted living facility, or has unfortunately passed away. If you require another copy of the contract to review, please advise, and we will email a copy to you. If you require our teams help with processing the cancelation, please let us know as well. Respectfully, Andrew Beliso“ And this is my response back: “And do you feel your contracts are fair and reasonable? Shame on you for creating contracts that should be illegal, binding people to services they don’t need anymore. I will never be signing any contracts in the future or advise anyone to go with your services. Your customer services is terrible- I spoke to 6 people when I called to cancel and all of them transferring me to the next person for no reason. Each of them telling me something different. Your business will not last for too long playing with these scam contracts. Will never do business with you or your company again.” I have not heard back since. What a joke!

One of the worst services you can get
One of the worst services you can get. My system was down for more than a year. They have never fixed the system but billed for the services even when the system was down. They rob your money through their collection agency with a threat to damage your credit history.
