The company makes you wait 1 hr to talk to a tech. Then try to avoid at all cost going back to fix problems.

I would have given 0 stars if that was…
I would have given 0 stars if that was an option. This company has been nothing but trouble from billing to phone service. On an active alarm, I called and was given an 82 minute wait time. I've never been late but every month I get numerous emails saying I'm 30 days behind. I tried to cancel last year because of this but was told the problem was handled and given a discount to sign for a year. Big mistake! Now the system is malfunctioning and I've been on 2 chats and 3 phone calls, all no help. The soonest I could get a phone call back is in 2 days. I don't want to do business with them anymore.

Very hard to get help and talk to an agent
I have been with ADT for many years and their service is very poor and hard get in touch with an agent. If you have 3 to 4 hours, have fun.

Leaving ADT for Good for Better Options
No matter what you need they have too many departments and therefore to get the right help is impossible. Average call wait times exceed an hour consistently and none of the depts work with each other. They apologize to death to only keep you a little longer and give you credit to maintain their membership. Their technicians are not skilled nor current. I had one who left old 2G system plugged in for over a year after "upgrading" me to 3G. They are incompetent, probably under paid and basically unaware of how fragmented their customer care is. They think it improves response times its the opposite. Im leaving after over 16yrs. Their rates are TOO HIGH for the value, knowledge and skill they should be providing. I pay nearly $400 higher than the competitors do today e.g. Ring, SimpliSafe, etc. If I could give them a lower rating I would for customer care.

Stay away from ADT
Stay away from ADT, there was a shooting outside my house and a bullet hole in my kitchen window. I had to leave the property and move in with somebody, who already have security. They will not let me cancel without paying cancellation fees and keep telling me they will send me the contract….. This is terrible service. Your system can not protect my family from flying bullets and the fact you are requiring me to pay considering the circumstances is down rate insane. I was going to use this service once I decide to get back into a single family home, but now so will never use them again. Horrible business.

I cant give a negative so I will give a one.. first off I was in market for internet when roped into a service contract with ADT as a special promotion , after finding out were I live cant get internet I tried to cancel but was told I could not. I paid for probably a year before we sold our home and tried to cancel , I was told to send a email to do so in wich I did and after 2 months I recieved an email with 2 months billing . I called ADT and questioned but when I did the lady was rude and said I had to take it with me to new address or be billed remainder of contract. I guess ADT doesnt care so much about customers as is does the money the customers bring to them...

Not worth it research other providers and read reviews
Customer Service is horrible. My connection is constantly lost. I was charged for a technician to come out to our home for service and 2 weeks we are having the same problem. The prices are extremely high to experience such horrible service. I will be searching for a new provider.

Again ADT has screwed me over
Again ADT has screwed me over. I spoke with two different Representatives Tuesday and they both confirmed a tech will be here today from 1pm to 5pm. I am currently on the phone with a representative confirming the appointment. She stated she doesn't see an appointment in the system for me today. I am SO OVER ADT. Please someone tell me a company that can buy me out of this contract. I could have been out taking care of my business. I stayed at home waiting on them. I'm over it. Now, I'm on hold because she is trying to see what's going on. God knows if I had $1500.00 to waste, I would break this contract.

System broke not one phone call . My mother passes away , they didn't get paid they are calling, texting, emailing and texting my daughter at work. It was the final 6 months of the 3 year contract. I have paid up to be cancelled. Their communication within the department is terrible. I feel like they only care about money. Customer's are just numbers. No human kind. A run a round. $50.00 . no more. Send a text they says call immediately , but their off till Monday. I just called again. It's almost impossible to talk to the account manager. Their either off , or a long wait , my favorite is disconnected. And the representative can see where I've been calling since July.

Poor customer service
ADT customer service experience has been horrible. For the past four weeks I still have not had my issue resolved. I have spoke with five different customer service reps. Every last one of the reps has gave me the runaround. They are not skilled to troubleshoot. I worked with the reps to troubleshoot to figure out the problem but nothing seems to work. I spoke with a supervisor and she was very nonchalant. I have been without service for four weeks I’m still paying monthly on an alarm that I cannot even use. I have been with ADT over 10 years and this is how they treat their loyal customers. I told the supervisor that I was going to go with another company and she said OK that’s fine. So basically they want me to keep paying for some equipment that doesn’t even work.

I wish I could score it less
I wish I could score it less, I keep getting bill after bill with various numbers for services I did not receive as i am unable to get the itemised bill and statement of th e account from them. Now there are threatening letters and more bills, that are all stating different figures every time. When I called customer services, they quoted different figures again and still unable to explain what these charges are for. Only stress and disgust when dealing with them .

STAY away
STAY away, do your research! I purchased my home two years ago with an exiting system. I called to have a few extra window sensors added. Upon installation the ADT rep gives me a cell phone to sign what i thought was me signing for the installation. Well apparently i signed what was NOT a one year, not a two year contract. BUT A THREE YEAR CONTRACT! I am moving & I am forced to pay $300 for the last year of my contact!

ADT is fraud company. By paying them money you are wasting you money
My system is not working from 6 months, i am getting calls every day for system check because system need 3g upgrade. I called adt every single day, it puts on hold to connect agent for more the 40 minutes. some time it takes more than 1 hour to connect to agents. their agent asks lots of unnecessary questions as well as they ask to do some steps on keypad. after doing that all useless things they will ask as to be on hold because they need to review my account. after that they will transfer to some random department, and we have to do all steps again. some time they will transfer to that department how tells us that we cannot help you for that. you have to call helpline again. I was tired of these things and i called for cancellation. they asked lots of question/reason and put me on hold for 63 minutes and then hang-up call.

ADT SUCKS
We have had trouble since day 1! First tech installed 4 cameras said one wasn't working and would be back out the next week to Tunstall a new one. Finally came 6 MONTHS later! Called them 6 months ago to let them know we were moving and would need our cameras moved to new address. Haven't gotten them yet. Still taking payments off my card. They broke the contract with us by not getting the cameras moved. Not paying another dime. ADT Sucks! Don't ask me to send my email etc don't care if those cameras are ever moved.

Not good business
I've had ADT a little over 2 years now. Soon after I got it, the system began to malfunction. I called in several times and all they wanted to do was trouble shoot the issue (which never solved the problem). After so many calls, they said that they would send someone out but I had to pay the tech. IDTS! After several more calls, they finally send a tech out. Found out that the system was hooked up wrong and that it had not work in 2 years! So therefore, I've paid for a service for 2 years that I wasn't getting and had been complaining about but couldn't get any help. I called in a month ago and requested a refund for the 2 years of payment and they've been giving me the run around once again. It's got to be approved and it's gonna take time. It didn't take them no time to withdraw it from my account! I will not recommend this company to anyone EVER! I want my money and if I have to seek an attorney to get it I will. $837 is a lot of money to just wave off

Such a shameful company this ADT , I am trying to quit and stop the service for last two months, they are keep sending me bills and not canceling the service.Customer care of ADT sucks. I used this service for 3.5 years ,and when I realized that how much I am already cheated by them I tried to stop.Even unsubscribing this ADT systems is a nightmare THIS is one of the biggest scam in security systems I had to change my credit card to stop their payment and cancel it.I will put a case in consumer forum but not sure if that helps

Beware
What a rip off! I signed up for ADT for my father’s residence. The accounts were combined without my consent. I was told if I paid everything in full that they would separate the accounts, that was a lie! My father is now deceased, so I asked for the account to be closed only at my father residence . ADT disconnected my service also and has charged me since that time, I have not had any service nor can I use the system but they continue to tell me that I have service when I keep explaining to them that I don’t I called in and spoke to a collection agent she told me that she was crediting the bill to $220. I made a payment $110 only to find out that she was adding back the install fee and charge me for service that I didn’t have. I am so upset about this issue and it seems like there’s nothing that can be done about it , I can’t believe this after all the years that I’ve been with ADT!

So what did you get for your $90.
Wow. I am paying nearly $90 a month for basic service. I have no cameras, no magic doorbell, no smart devices. But I'm paying more than the $45 I see online for basic. What gives. Its called screw the customer. I'm in the process of looking for something new - where they care about the customer and not what they can get out of him.

ADT TERRIBLE BUISNESS
Customers, including myself, tried our best to let ADT know how they can improve their services and make their customers happy but they failed to do so because adt has not tried to improve at all not a little bit they're still the same and still is doing the same things that nobody enjoys doing. ADT has more negative reviews than positive, yet they're still not trying to improve, if that was the case the negative reviews would have turned into positive ones and people all over the world wouldn't be trying to start a class action lawsuit against them. They take your money without your knowledge, thinking they're only taking out the payment for that month they take out multiple amounts of money after agreeing with you what you owe. They take advantage of their customers and do not care the way they're trying to make it seem. They do not take responsibility for their companies doing the customers is wrong from their mistakes. For some reason they is so head strong about keeping people in their contracts and won't negotiate like these trustworthy companies do unless we pay them thousands of dollars that most people do not have but again they don't really care just them becoming rich off of poor people. They say that's not the case but actions speak louder than words and their actions is speaking volumes. It's getting so bad us customers is coming together to start a trust fund just to pay a really good lawyer to start the class action suit against them. Adt can't be trusted like they say they can, don't let them fool you with their fake apologies, it's not real and just like their services they treat their customers like crap and lie in the same breath. DO NOT GET ADT buy a service that you can trust and feel comfortable with, trust the comments. We're customers who's be betrayed and lied to especially with more negative than positive reviews, I wouldn't trust them and wish I never let their sales representative talk me into getting them, big waste. I rather pick up dog poop than pay them another penny of my ssi check, I know a good buisness and adt is far to gone to be a good buisness! BE AWARE!!

I have been an ADT Customer for over 20…
I have been an ADT Customer for over 20 years in Rochester NY. I have had the worst experience in the last 4 months with them. They sold me google cameras and a doorbell that was supposed to be wired in. The bell was battery operated right from the start. I have emails confirming this from Google. The ADT office in Rochester was insisting it was not battery operated. After 3 months they finally agreed and gave me a Ring Doorbell. They still owe me 2 cameras. I have a signed contract that was cancelled by the local office. Today I reached out to Jim Devries email. To my surprise he actually called me. What a nice ma for calling me. He assured this issue would be resolved. About an hour later I got a call from a local rep. He assured me that my contract was not valid and that ADT would not be giving me anything. I have since reached out to MR. Devries to no avail. My contract expires in January, I am 99% sre I will be leaving. What a shame.

ADT is hugely incompetent
ADT is a huge company so it is hard to believe how incompetent they are. They will call the wrong number when your alarm goes off. They will call the wrong number when you have an installation appointment. You will call them multiple times to remedy the situation and the people will be very polite on the phone with you but the problem will never be resolved. I had two appointments with ADT for a virtual installation and each time I never received a call when I was told I would. Each time I called ADT. Each time the representative put me on hold for 5 to 10 minutes only to come back on and tell me that there was no availability for today! They always politely offer to reschedule me for a couple of days in the future. It’s difficult for me to make any appointment with them because it is always a gamble. If you are sitting at home all day and don’t have anything to do, then perhaps ADT will fit your needs. For anyone else, I recommend you look elsewhere.

An actual scam. Very surprising but almost every review agrees
They didn't finish my install over a year ago and magically everyone involved stopped replying to my emails the day the partial install was done and billing started. I've sent about 30 emails since to the same chain I used before my account was live. Nobody got back to me ever. My system has never been turned on once and never finished the install yet I was billed each month. I believe you owe me some money but will let the pros decide that. I just emailed your "always there" email so let's see if that does anything. PS: 0 stars should be an option so they could have their real average rating.

Fell for the stupid sales strategy and…
Fell for the stupid sales strategy and silly sales deal. When you call, it’s none stop transfer from one department to another. Please stay away from them!!!! I even foolishly believed their so called deal that you’ll receive $100 Visa card with best doorbell installation. They didn’t send any card and when I called to inquire they won’t answer

One star is to much stay away from ADT
One star is to much. I highly recommend not using ADT they will bill you twice in one year for the system. If you move try to bill also for both locations, and will offer no support on fixing any of the damages they do. The contracts works against you and after research there are a lot of people facing the same issues. I plan on reporting them to better business.
