ADT customer over 6 years
ADT customer for over 6 years, but how they responded to recent alarms service requires me to cancel. The record shows, I had several alarms in late Oct/Nov 2022. Three ADT technicians responded but unable to correct different alarm issues. Was offered a partial system but the final alarm required police. ADT said last contract year canceled. Did not happen. Dec 2022 update: Company returned only one month payment and nothing on the one year contract that I was told would not be charged.

I called the national ADT security…
I called the national ADT security number for assistance in scheduling a technician to come to my residence to address an existing issue, the ADT operator was absolutely NO HELP AT ALL!! After being on the phone for nearly 5 minutes, NO appointment was even made to have a technician check my residential concerns. I was extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with the lack of willingness by the ADT to even TRY to help me in scheduling an appointment!! The ADT operator made an extremely easy request more complicated than necessary. I will seek to change to another security company following this awful ADT service.

All they do is bait and switch
All they do is bait and switch. They promised me one thing on the phone, then jacked up the price during installation. After fighting that for a while, they eventually gave me the price I was originally promised. During the second installation, they found 3 other ways to try to jack up the price, every single one of which was highly illegitimate (literally charging me for things I'm already paying for in my contract.) What a horrible company. (And of course, customer service continues to do nothing about this, despite contacting them for hours, including via the method in their "reply".)

Adt sucks…
Contract is too long and you cant talk to 1 person to cancel. People move and don't want to pay for equipment AGAIN. You have to sit on hold for 40 minutes only to be told they will transfer you to someone who can help you cancel. Then they transfer you again..and again... and again. Then after 2 or 3 hours you get disconnected! Try another day and it's deja vu all over again. Finally you get someone they inform you owe 1 year of charges because you were told it was a 2 year contract but it was actually it was 3 years. Will NEVER USE ADT AGAIN!!! We were customers for 17 years before this at another house. No benefits for being loyal....they don't return the favor.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Makes it almost impossible to cancel even if you sold your house! Cancellation dept Hung up on me after I told them it was crazy that it’d take 30 days to cancel my service and I’d be charged even though I sold my house and don’t have a contract anymore! I have been a member for 5.5 years! Cancellation dept still didn’t process my cancellation after she hung up on me kept account activated! Tried to call back and was going to take an hour to talk to someone after I’d already talked to 7 people and 45 minutes on phone! Worst service ever DO NOT USE THEM!

Terrible Customer Service!
First I’d like to say all of the reviews on ADT’s website are either fake or they only keep the positive ones! My review is mostly in regards to customer service at ADT because I really didn’t have many problems with the equipment itself. Let’s start with the fact that ADT is associated with what seems like a dozen companies (Protection1, Alarm.com, ADT Pulse, ADT Main, etc.) and it’s like none of them actually communicate with eachother. I’ve been a paying ADT customer for over 3 years and when I call customer service every rep tells me there is literally no record of my phone number, home address or email address being in their systems yet I still get promotional emails and alarm emails / phone calls from them?? Also they just sent out an upgrade kit to my home address so I’m totally confused how that is even possible. The equipment upgrade kit is super complex and the rep who scheduled the delivery neglected to schedule a technician to come out for assembly. So now trying to schedule a technician to come out has been a total run around for days because apparently ADT does not have my information in their system! It’s absolutely unbelievable how a company can even function like this. Needless to say the next time I get a rep on the phone I’m canceling the service and sending the equipment back! ADT is synonymous with home security but if they don’t get themselves together logistically they won’t be around for much longer.

If I could rate at 0 stars I would! Absolutely horrible service. All 4 people had absolutely no idea on what a payout figure was! So easy to get the system, and the actual guys that put my system in were fantastic but thats where it stops! When it is time to take first payment out after a 2 month free, they double dip! Claiming they didn't take money out the month before (their mistake) so took it upon themselves to double dip the month after! Try and pay out your contract with them get passed around to 4 different people, who mind you give you 4 different pay out figures then they want to add a extra $350 on top of the pay out figure to charge for the equipment. By the end of the 36 month contract it works out that the equipment is mine I own it and I don't have to pay a extra $350 on top. They have absolutely no idea! I seriously wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy!

Horrible customer service!!
Horrible customer service!!! My system has not worked properly for a month and my house is not protected at night. I have talked to at least 4 representatives and I get conflicting information. I cannot even get a supervisor or manager to call me. When you call, there is an hour or two-hour wait if you want to hold on the phone! Ridiculous!!! I also asked what would be the cost for a technician to come out to my house, and I received conflicting information again. One said $60 and another said $94.

I sign up a 3 years contract without…
I sign up a 3 years contract without realizing what I was getting into and for how long was. Today is my 2 years as a loyal customer with this company. At the beginning of the contract they are telling you don’t worry if you move will take care everything if you cancel we are maje sure the process will be easy lies. I call a few times to requests to move my equipment to he new home well they are asking to pay for the new equipment and will be a new 3 years contract plus the remaining balance I’m leaving for the old contract. No way Jose I’m out. I already put in force the cancellation process bye

Ackerman & ADT Racist Thieves
This begins with Ackerman, and continued after ADT, most likely because of my Indian heritage. We purchased Ackerman’s service for 274 Flat Creek TRL 30214. Excluding what Ackerman owed us, ADT has charged us $924.70 in 2022 when it was supposed to be $220 yr. ADT & Ackerman debited 3 of our accounts for service at one house; personal bank, my personal cc, and my business bank acct. This has been going on for 2.75 yrs. They owe us over $2,000. We contacted the Ackerman retention department 2 months before the takeover, around Feb 2022. The girl working with us promised a refund check, but said she would require some time for approval. I understand why Ackerman promised us a refund check for the full amount because they knew they were never going to send it before the takeover. We contacted Ackerman 2 months later only to be told that they transferred our service to ADT. When I spoke with ADT, they said the notes from Ackerman had not been transferred and they would need time for the notes to come over, this was July of 2022. Meanwhile, we are still having debits from 3 of our accounts during this time. Finally, Chris Crowder from ADT is assigned to us and he promised to find out what happened. As of November 1st, he still has not gotten us a resolution. We called the ADT call center in October and were told by the first rep that we had to speak to the relocation department to update our address before they could help us. When she transferred us to the relocation department , they said we had a $2,000 credit, instead of a refund. He then told us that it could only be used for equipment. We asked to speak to his manager, named Ken, but he was unwilling to transfer us to him or give us his last name. Then he said Ackerman was handling billing questions, and transferred us to Ackerman. Unfortunately, the Ackerman he transferred us too was not the same. They said that ADT reps transfer calls to them all the time knowing they aren’t the same company. I have emailed several corporate employees and have not gotten any response.

They make it very hard to cancel.
Easy to sign up, but just went to cancel after many years with them, 2.5 hours on the phone to cancel, 4 people later, then they go down $10 to try and save you, but 5 year contract, then go down even more, then again even more, very difficult to cancel, be finally I was able too. Just because of this, I would never use them again. It left a very bad taste, and too long on the phone just to cancel.

If I could give ADT no stars I absolutely would!!! DO NOT USE ADT!! They will assist you in any way they can to get you to sign a contract and after that you are on your own. I sold my home and the buyers transferred the contract into their name. I was told by multiple different associates with multiple calls that there would be NO charge due to the contract being transferred. I now have received a collections letter for an amount of $447.53. DO NOT use this company they are terrible. I am in real estate and will NOT refer ADT to any of my future, past, or present clients.

Signed a contract unaware
Towards the end of July there was a guy in my area promoting ADT so he came to my house and I told him I dont need an alarm and he said they are running a promotion which I will not pay for 3 months and if I am not satisfied I can cancel. At first their office called me to ask if they can deduct the annual fee i thought this is unfair to pay since I wont be that long but I left it, I called them on the 1st of November 2022 to cancel and the lady said she is going to ask someone to call me back she never did. I then see the debit order going off and I call to cancel coz I am not using the service at all I was told I am on the 36 months contract and the rep never told me that. I am so upset with myself for allowing him in my house and not reading the page he gave me coz he said its just for confirming the banking details for the once off fee. Now i was told I owe R3375 and I dont have that kind of money, am so angry

If I could give zero reviews I would. I have to unexpectedly move and had to cancel my account. When I called to do this, I asked to set up a payment plan for the remaining balance and I was told I couldn’t do that. The following day I called back to see what options I had to pay my bill, and I was told to wait until I received my final bill then to call and set up a payment plan. Fast forward to one week later - haven’t received my final bill yet but was automatically charged almost $1,000 without my permission after I had called previously about not being able to afford the payments right now and requesting payment plans. After calling yet again, I’m now told that my only options are to call my bank and get the charge reversed or continue using ADT at my new location. Aside from the fact that I can’t afford it (after stating that multiple times already), I will NEVER use ADT again! This has been the absolute worst experience and exactly the reason why their company will fail to others like Ring. The fact that I also now have to waste time calling my bank to dispute a charge is insane! It’s amazing to me that I am trying to do my part and pay them, but they cannot take my current financial situation into account. Never once did I ask for a discount or for the charges to be wiped. To all future customers - RUN FAR AWAY FROM ADT. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!

Long hold times, Bad Service, Missed appointments
Long hold times (1.5 Hours) to talk to a customer service rep to let them know that we are away from home for a month. We returned and the CO detector was beeping/not operating properly. We waited half hour for a rep. Self-diagnosed it wasn't the battery. CO detector needs to be changed. Made appt. to do that. The CO detector didn't arrive. Tech called and didn't know it hadn't arrived. Another hour wasted and time away from work. Another appointment scheduled for next week this time with a four hour window. Though we haven't received a call back from Customer Relations (Rujilo) we did get a price increase notice this morning to maintain their "great service"

I have had ADT for approximately one…
I have had ADT for approximately one year. I bought four cameras all which currently do not operate. I have tried to contact their customer service and I cannot get a response when the cameras actually did work there were many problems with them like not recording going off-line even though I have the highest Internet connection. I have emailed them several times to contact me and I have gotten zero response a waste of thousands of dollars for products that don’t work and the company does not stand behind.

My Mom has been a customer for 25 years…
My Mom has been a customer for 25 years and is now moving in with my sister due to her age. I have tried 5 times and my sister has tried a couple times to cancel her service to no avail. I have spent 5 hours of my life trying to cancel and they never pick up while holding. You can get any other department in minutes but not if you want to cancel. This is by far the worst experience Ive ever had with a company you pay money to every month. Please don't use ADT. They are the most expensive and they are the worst.

Be aware of ADT monitoring company…
Be aware of ADT monitoring company which should be avoided. Be aware once you cancel your account, they still charge you for another month if you did not cancel 30 days in advance. So cancel 30 days in advance even if you have no contract. They then bug you for payment otherwise they will send it to a collection agency. They were going to charge an arm and a leg to replace wireless sensors in new windows and update the system. The sensors cost double what it costs on Amazon, but they would not allow us to purchase it ourselves. Their basic monitoring monthly charge was double what we found now. Found a way better alternative to them with Central Security at 512-610-2698 who has great prices on updating systems and also monthly monitoring.

WORST SERVICE EVER
I had to give a one... TERRIBLE customer service. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My husband and I spent 3 hours on the phone being transferred from tech support to sales to customer service. After being hung up on and told I would get a call back in 12-24 hours to schedule a virtual tech support.... NOTHING. Everything was "oh I'll transfer you to another dept." They told me to buy another router to get a better connection to my doorbell camera and now my cameras aren't connecting to the new wifi and I'm told it's not their problem and that they will charge me to come out. What am I paying this monthly service for??? Terrible service? I wouldn't recommend ADT to anyone EVER.

Worst Customer Service Ever!
Worst Customer Service Ever! I have been an ADT customer for more than 2 years and having such customer service is huge let down. Background: I have service plan added to my account for no cost where ADT will not charge my account for tech visit. I was given a word by account manager that the tech visit will be of no charge on my account. Issue: I have recently started receiving sensor errors and unpleasant beeps. I called customer service to help me troubleshoot. They tried but they were not successful so I requested for technician visit to resolve and troubleshoot the issue. The rep said it will a charge for the tech visit. I mentioned about the service plan and ADT account manager gave me a word on no charge tech visit. But ADT was not honoring their word and they said it will be $59 visit fee. Keeping the original issue of sensor error and unpleasant beeps I spent more than 5 hours to explain about the service plan and no tech visit fee. Both the issues are still not resolved. I feel I am cheated by ADT and I am super disappointed with ADT. Lesson learned: what you agree on please have it in writing from ADT rep. Do not rely on their word. They will say anything to make a sale.

Defective equipment
Defective equipment. You can't get anyone to resolve it. Today is the 4th time I've had defective equipment. I go through the app to chat, they tell me to call sales. I call sales they say they are sending it. There are 2 defective items. They only send replacement for 1. I have a virtual appointment on install. I try contacting to let them know I never received the smoke detector. I go through Chat, they tell me I have to call sales. I call the number given, they tell me after 53 minutes of waiting that I just need to tell the person during my virtual appointment that is supposed to help me install it. Customer service is a joke. They are a company full of "that's not my job folks"

I have been a customer for over 8…
I have been a customer for over 8 years, why I have stuck with them I am not sure. I have made numerous calls to the customer support help line and still have not resolved my issue. Live footage has been down for months. Capturing any footage for that matter is limited to leaves fall in front of camera or wind blowing. I never see people coming and going from my home, even myself?? Why wouldn't that be on camera? I have 4 camera's around the house and every angle covered. Also, they only can capture 30 second of video footage.

Don’t get ADT
Don’t get ADT. They end up sending a third party dealer for example I got safe haven. I wasn’t aware about it till corporate of ADT tried coming to sell the actual ADT services to me. Which let me to confusion. They also let me know that all the equipment that the third party uses is outdated and that’s how he knew it was a dealer and not ADT. I asked if there is a way to be refunded or get the actual ADT equipment installed and he said no, so I would have to pay extra for something I wasn’t aware of that. Even as that the dealers thermostat wasn’t compatible with my AC system so I spend about triple the money. One for to get an electrician to install it and 2nd to get it uninstall and 3rd I never heard back from the dealer about refunding me for the thermostat they charge me for that I don’t use. It literally sits in a drawer. Also, when you try to get a technician out ADT is like sorry no help you need to contact your dealer. If I would have known all this before I got it install by “ADT” again it wasn’t made aware from set beginning. I would have never gotten “ADT” install. You’re left with a dealers outdated system and calling/chatting with multiple agencies.

This is the worst product, service and experience ever
This is the worst experience ever! Their system was always causing problems. They kept coming back to repair the same problem over and over again, obviously charging extra for every visit, even though it was their s#$!#! product that was causing issues. They will bully you! Their customer service is incompetent and rude. Stay away from ADT!
