I spent 3 hours waiting on the phone…
I spent 3 hours waiting on the phone talking to different people at ADT to try to resolve the issue of being able to change the username and password for my keypad to silence the chimes on the doors. I just moved into a new condo and the previous owner had all of the equipment already installed, she passed, so I'm trying to get control of the keypad. All I got was a run around, transferred from one person to another, and put on hold multiple times for 45 to 50 minutes or longer. The customer service has been terrible, hard to reach the appropriate individuals, I would not recommend ADT to anyone.

ADT "family member"???? These people are worse than the Manson family. They are FINANCIAL and MORAL killers! Say goodbye to any money you have with them. These felons are all laughing at all of you. Just look at all the comments. Does anyone see anything in common here? Can you say FRAUD?????

You can never get ahold of anybody WAIT times are insane usually 45-60 minutes if they ever return your call Today a item that was installed fell off door and cant find the part to put it back. Left message with ADT and texted manager no return call.

Very difficult to cancel and it’s a scam.
The company states you cannot cancel the service online, but they never answer their phone. Very much a scam when a National company does this. The reason for canceling is it didn’t work correctly starts beeping at the oddest hours of the night and can’t get anyone out here to fix it. Horrible customer service and with so many other options, why pay for this?

Fell for the friendly salesperson
Fell for the friendly salesperson. I had just moved in, and they knocked on my door. Gave me a deal on "free" equipment. Changed my SSID, and everything went to crap. Cameras won't connect. Tried physically pushing WPS button on camera, still nothing. Called ADT and they want $150 to reconnect (at least). Equipment is junk. Service is worthless. Waited 85 minutes for "tech support" to pick up.

ADT services is very poor
ADT services is very poor. I have had system 3 months it took a month to troubleshoot best doorbell. Now the system saying windows are up turned off cameras and now I'm not secured. Been calling a week and the representatives put me on 90minute hold no one responds no call option they just recently stopped. I'm frustrated to no end. Do not get locked in they don't have no customer service, you're not able to speak with anyone.

Worse customer service I have ever experienced
We have data and the alarm system is perfect for our needs. Customer service and the ability to contact them sucks. I have spent over two hours trying to get assistance. I have been transferred more times , from one person to another that can not help but this other person can . Their MyADT site is impossible to navigate , it keeps throwing up error messages and kicks you off. How can a company operate like this???

Very unhappy with the customer service
I have been with ADT for 12 years and have been pleased with their service, until today. About a week ago my doorbell camera stopped working and it was blinking red. I called ADT and I was thinking someone was going to come out and fix it, but I was wrong. They tried to walk me through it over the phone. The way The doorbell was put on, I wasn't able to get it off. So, I after I spoke with two agents, which were both very nice; the second said he would get a tech out at no charge. Fast forward to today. Tech David was here at 8:00am. He asked the same questions the previous agents asked; which was have I changed my WiFi password. As I stated to them, no I haven't. He asked what was the password. I don't know the password by hard, so I was trying to figure it out. Since I never have to log in because it's already set on my TV, so I was trying to figure it out. He caught an attitude and said you all need to have everything together when I come. I said you don't have to get an attitude. Of course, he stated he didn't have an attitude. Then he says, let me put your doorbell back on and get out of your house then. I said I'll call ADT and have them to send someone else out. He said, well you're not going to get anyone today. Well of course when I call ADT, I get a foreign agent with an attitude as well and gets loud when I ask to speak with a manager. ADT customer service has definitely went down since I started with them. Plus she NEVER transferred me to an agent and told me to call back Monday through Friday to cancel my service. I am VERY DISPLEASED with ADT. Yes, I will call Monday and cancel. Even the chat person Allen act as if he really didn't care. He just kept saying he apologize for inconvenience. When I said I'll call Monday and cancel, he said Sure.

Spent thousands on equipment
Spent thousands on equipment! Now? Try getting help!!! Wait on hold for over an hour! Think your problem is fixed? Nope.. give it a week and same issue occurred! Let’s start the cycle ALL OVER! CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH ADT IS THE WORSE! I will no longer deal with them!

I've recently terminated my contract…
I've recently terminated my contract with them in favour of a proper system. The reasons that lead to this are: - After first install we had the system go bad, and the installed fixed it (sort of) but it started narrating sensors that were being triggered when the house wasn't armed. I had to call ADT to get instructions on how to fix it because the repair person wouldn't return even though he'd left 10 minutes prior. - We had a week long power outage due to storms and not once did they ring to see if the alarm system was functioning properly, given it had been off-line for days. - Their billing was playing up. - Tech support was non existant. - Now they want to charge me $180 or so for a technician to pick up the alarm system (it was a portable wireless one that I've packed up back into the box), but they won't even get in contact with me to organise that.

Beware
I wish I could give them a zero. Worse decision/investment I’ve ever made was joining ADT. Make sure your read the 10,000 page small print before you commit to their bs contract because if you’re not satisfied w/ the service, which most people aren’t, they’ll charge you an arm and a leg to get out of the contract.

I would not recommend this company to anyone, They charge you to come out to fix there equipment, they say you need to buy new after a year because your camera won’t work anymore. The service is the worst, please check elsewhere before signing that contract.

Charged $906 to cancel after having the service for nearly 5 years.
Been a customer for nearly 5 years. Canceled the service in October and at no point did the customer service rep tell me I would be charged $906 for ending my contract "early". Contract was signed in Feb'19 and the 3 years was up this Feb. How is it that I owe ADT for an early termination? Or how about letting the customer know this charge is coming BEFORE they cancel. Just called twice and got cut off the first time and put on hold for over an hour the second time, finally hung up. Unbelievable.

8.5 hours wait time over two days and…
8.5 hours wait time over two days and still no resolution. If you have time to spare when your appointment(s) don't show until the last possible moments and then not fix the problem (TWICE) then ADT is the Alarm Company for you!!!

Poor Customer Service
I have been an ADT customer for 10 years, and I am currently paying for video monitoring with a camera that has failed. I have called ADT multiple times today, held for 45 min, been cut off, requested a call back (that has not been returned) and I am unable to get service. As a customer, I do not feel valued. ADT has agents ready to answer with zero hold time if I call their sales department, but they cannot offer support to existing customers. If I get a call back, I will likely cancel the service all together. Very disappointed.

What does INTEGRITY mean to ADT?
ADT is great if you want to start service. Anything else and it will not be resolved. I called ADT 9/27 to TRANSFER my service from Oklahoma to Colorado. Since I was moving, I was promised by Ashish with ADT I would not be charged a cancellation fee, but a monthly fee of roughly $47.00 until I get my new ADT set up at my new address. I even received 2 new cameras. Our new home is with D.R. Horton and apparently they have a contract with ADT. My husband explained to D.R. Horton ADT rep we needed to complete the transfer to our new home. The rep said she would contact ADT to process the transfer and obtained his Debit Card number. To our shock, my husband's card was charged $1009.50 for ADT cancellation fee, while my card is being charged $47.50 ?!?! Let's get this straight...ADT has charged my husband's debit card $1009.50 WITHOUT HIS AUTHORIZATION for a cancellation we never requested, while my card is still being charged $47.50 to avoid a cancellation fee?!?! We have contacted ADT well more than 7 times and we are repeated lied to and still no resolution. Class Action lawsuit or small claims court seems appropriate, especially after reading similar complaints with ADT. And no, ADT.... I will not email to your "alwaysthere@adt." I see that is your usual response to complaints. I have spent countless hours on the phone to get this resolved to no avail. How about you hire agents with integrity whom we can trust? You can do the research on your end.

I had an account with Ackerman Security…
I had an account with Ackerman Security in Atlanta for several years. I paid the monitoring fee once a year as billed by Ackerman. This year when they sent me the bill, I WROTE ' C A N C E L ' ON THE STATEMENT and returned it to Ackerman. Apparently ADT did not get the message to cancel or something else happened. I have not used the security system since May, 2022 because the battery is out on my system and I did not replace it. I do not owe Ackerman or ADT anything. I have called several times to TRY to straighten this out with no success. Now ADT has turned their false bill over to SRM for collection. I tried to speak with SRM to get the problem resolved to no avail. I would like to get this corrected and end any and all communication with ADT. I never dealt with ADT......only Ackerman.

They really should create a NO Star review selection. This company is absolutely terrible and not worth a one-star review. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Terrible customer service. Outdated equipment. Response time (technician) for any issue depends on where you reside. Hiram, Georgia same day. Dublin Ga, you don't get any assistance. Terrible! They mess up billing constantly. Example: you owe 2000.00 for the installation. You change your form of payment to another card. It happens..... You then don't get charged your monthly bill. They will, without telling you, charge the entire 2000.00 because you changed the form of payment. Pay attention to your bill. If this comment costs them only one customer it is worth my time. Selling one house, then paying the entire count off. Then they can **** off! I'll take my chances with Ring or whatever.

They insist on changing my agreement or denying me access!!!!!After using ADT security for 9 months…
After using ADT security for 9 months with no issues, my use got blocked by a pop-up. The pop-up said, among other things, "You have agreed to purchase residential home automation services ("Services") from TELUS Communications Company ("TELUS", also referred to as "we" or "us")." No, I did not. All I agreed to was a security system. Now, unless I agree that I agreed to purchase residential home automation services - which I have never done - ADT will not allow me to access my security system. This has got to be illegal. This is extortion. How can we as consumers protect ourselves from this disgraceful behaviour? Who do we complain to? Who protects us from scams in the security industry? I'll search that out and file a complaint, see if I can get this resolved. ADT is no help with this. Three hours on the phone so far today alone.

Been trying to reach them for 2 months and they put you on hold for 2 hours to get the 2 cameras working out front . Then they say they will charge a fee to fix it and come out .Run fast ! Scam ! Thomas Endrick
