I cannot wait for my co tract to end this jan2023!!! I will not be renewing and regret renewing for the 2nd time. I have been completely ripped off and lied too. When I first bought my house I used this company. Noooo issues the first 3yrs besides them not giving me the actual package I was told when it comes to the system. After contract I was not told it ended but the monthly fee kept going up which had me lock into another contract where the real issues started. Was now given the actual system I should have gotten the first time but without telling me the limits of it. I went from unlimited clip recording to a small amount that only lasted me 2wks because I live across an active kid park. To get more I’m suppose to pay another $20 month!! Besides this the installer had installed a sensor incorrect which I had to keep my window open to arm. Had to wait for another one to come back and correct it. Then the sensor on camera wasn’t working and til this day which is 3 yrs later isnt working. Doesn’t pick up people at my door even with all the times I had them come out and test the sensitivity level it’s programmed on it. So I never know how long something been sitting outside my door not when it came because it doesn’t record. What is the point of having it?!! I have called multi of times for same thing but nothing has changed. Waste of money and I will definitely not be renewing for the 3rd time!!!
An absolute nightmare in every way!
My worst sales and service experience ever! A used car salesman approach to begin with; nothing but a hustle, deceptions, misleading paperwork, contract impossible to read or understand with very small print hiding important details, broken promises from start to finish. Completely incompetent. Sales manager somewhat better in honoring commitments made until she started lying about what the contract said as well. Followed by the technician who installed the upgraded equipment, tricked into signing a document you could not see and did not know was there, lied on document about training provided. Followed by customer service that is nonexistent, non-responsive, wasting hours of time, lots of excuses, transfers to multiple departments, issues never solved. Go elsewhere if you possibly can!
They won't leave me alone...good grief
I signed up for a medical alert thing, and they need to come install the receiver. That's all I wanted. I'm 65, and this is in case I fall and need help.
But geez louise, this has put me on their bombard list. I get tons of crap in the mail now, trying to get me to buy a home security system. And I had to reschedule my install appointment for the alert thing, and they started calling me nonstop saying I had to reschedule. I already rescheduled!!! So I saw it was ADT on caller ID, and stopped taking their calls. Next, they started using numbers that were "unknown." (I use a highly-rated app on my phone to tell me who is calling, but there are ways to go around that...by scammers.)
Then they started calling me at 8 at night, still legal, but it seems they REALLY want me to fall trying to race to my phone at night.
I regret signing up with them. Because of these actions, I'm concerned about leaving an emergency key hidden outside in case emergency workers would ever need to come inside.

This company's sales reps are liars they trick you into a contract and then the company will never terminate your account and keep charging even though u sold the property they refuse to move to my new residence stating i have to pay for everything all over again and they won't terminate the old account. The employees are rude and disrespectful.

Stay far far away from ADT!!! Unless you know with absolute certainty that you will not move during your contact period with ADT DO NOT get their service. ADTs relocation department is a scam! They spew lie after lie and then you’re forced to spend hours on hold them hours arguing with other departments for their mistakes. I KNEW this would happen and told the jerk at the relocation center it would. Now I have to spend hours to reverse a $1200 cancellation charge for a cancellation I didn’t want simply because they said it wasn’t possible to transfer service to the new address!!! ADT SUCKS AND YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Very Scummy Business, DO NOT TRUST
Moved into my new home, ADT had to install the smart home technology that came with the house, but they accidentally installed the wrong equipment and sent me a contract for their monthly service. I told them I didn't want their services and just want what the house came with. They tried to pressure me into signing still, which I declined again and they uninstalled the wrong equipment. 1 month later, I got a bill from them for their monthly service despite not having a contract, once I called them they said I have an account on file and a "pending" cancelation, and there is a 600$ cancelation fee and it would be sent to collections if not paid. Which makes no sense to me since, I never signed up for the service, and do not have any kind of contract with them. It's impossible to reach their account service department with being put on hold for over 2 hours, probably better off just going through a lawyer.

Wanted to get pricing. They needed to run my credit. Decided not to go with them. They called me back to schedule a free consultation. I tried to cancel consultation 4 times and the last customer service rep Lynn hung up on me. DO NOT USE

I canceled ADT and it took me 2 hours on the phone and I was transferred to 5 people in order to do that . Seriously...not 1 or 2...5 people and two hours on the phone. They kept pressuring me to not cancel them . Like that's not enough, now I keep receiving phone calls 1-2 times a week from them so i can go back to ADT. If they were using these callers to fix their issues and provide customer service instead of annoying people, maybe they wouldn't have to worry about getting new subscribers .
Now that I am not replying their calls , they started doing this new disgusting trick. They are sending me an email with a fake bill for supposedly $15 a month. First they do not have any plans for $15 a month.
Second , I already canceled the service 5-6 months ago..PAID IN FULL !!!
So ADT...STOP CALLING ME !!! STOP EMAILING ME !!!

False promises
Approached the company for a quote.
We own a large 8 bedroom house. Spent over one hour with the sales person who failed to turn up anywhere near the agreed time. Was promised the quote that evening (Friday) but by Monday pm the following week, nothing, so we made contact. Was again told will 100% be with us by Wednesday. Now the following week and still nothing. Clearly a sign of terrible customer service and a bold warning not to place your business here.

On November 12, 2022, I had a reactivation from constantly having issues since 2020 with ADT. After I signed the new contract and the tech came, I was told that I had to buy new cameras (front and back) which I just bought 2020 and found out that my window sensors on my 13 windows were all initially installed to only cover one side of the window. Which means if the top is pulled down, no alarm. If my basement windows are slid on the left side, no alarm. So now I have no cameras connected, my windows sensors won't work if someone knows about my windows and now my basement sensor is not even showing in the panel. So I called to see if I could get someone to walk me through the basement sensor. I received a call back at 5:32 pm to my phone number. I had a very unkind ADT representative call me and I would like the call record reviewed by a manager. She told me her name was Rachel. I would rather someone review the call than try to explain. I would like to cancel the contract I signed today. I would NEVER consider ADT or even a family member or friend, the way that Rachel talked to me.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! If I could give it a worse rating I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They lied to me to get me to sign a 3 year contract. I was told by the sales rep that I could cancel service if I needed to. I was never told that I would be in a 1 year contract with their installation company safe haven, and when that was up I would automatically be in a 2 year contract with ADT. I've tried calling so many times to cancel the service and I never get anywhere. I have spent hours and hours mostly on hold trying to speak to someone and get this taken care of. After explaining the situation and then being transferred to someone else over and over and over again, I finally got someone to email me a fraud form to fill out. I wasn't able to look at the email while on the phone and when I did later, it was not applicable to my situation. The fraud form I was sent was for a forged signature. Not for an employee lying to get me to sign a contract under false pretenses. The tech who did the installation was new and messed it up and it wasn't fixed for a month. I tried getting them to credit my account for the month I was charged for but could not use because the installation wasn't finished. They said they would credit my account and then never did. I removed my card from the automatic payments and they still charge my card even though they are not authorized to. The sensors chime even when no doors have been opened, the fire alarm goes off randomly, and the armed stay function trips the alarm if I exit through the door even after hitting the delayed exit option. This has been a nightmare and I hope I can save someone else from this mess.
Do not waste your money on ADT
I prefer not to give any stars whatsoever! We have had ADT for many years; I always pay my bill on time. However, when you need customer service they leave you on hold for over 45 minutes; if you call other departments for help they transfer you and leave you on hold. The technical support reps are absolutely useless, our current alarm system is not working, they don’t help at all, they will not send technicians to fix the issue, but they expect to be paid. They will only come out to install a new upgraded more expensive system but will not fix your current issue. Please don’t waste your money; this company is the absolute worst!!!!
ADT - not to be trusted - you have been warned. This is about the U.K. operation
An account that was closed and paid in up August ‘22, proof positive. And now they chase for monies they purport are owed and do not answer emails, yet on telephone calls acknowledge their error but do nothing about it, avoid them!
ADT (U.S.A.) responded immediately and I thank them for that, unfortunately they cannot assist. THE U.K. ADT have yet to do anything, oh! except send another threatening email. Have emailed all the governing bodies of the alarm industry and my local MP plus the MD of Johnson Controls that own ADT U.K. if ADT think they can intimidate me, they picked the wrong fight!
Billed me $260 to fix their admitted…
Billed me $260 to fix their admitted fault installation. Agreed to reverse the charges but only partially did so. Promised a call from the local branch manager that was never received. Have to hold minimum of one hour to get anyone on the phone; then they have no authority to help. Absolutely horrendous. I've been a customer for almost 15 years, but no longer. That is if I can wait them out to cancel. This is so bad it has to be intentional.
Zero stars if I could!
Zero stars if I could, faulty equipment! Cheap equipment, it kept falling off the doors and windows. We got broken into with ADT service. We had to set up our own equipment and we paid a handy man to do it as well. Wireless equipment doesn’t work nor did the solar, you have to keep charging it, the cameras never ended up working or recording. Just a fail of a company. Then they have the audacity to keep charging us even after we moved from the house we got broken into twice. Honestly it’s probably a sting operation they got going on. ADT sucks, and I wish I would have never used this scam of a company. They keep harassing me for payment when their equipment didn’t stop anyone from breaking into my house. Please read the reviews, as I did not, we regret even calling this garbage company to protect my family.

Routine alarm service failures
Customer service at ADT is in steep decline. I have now had two consecutive non-shows by an engineer for a routine services of our intruder alarm. On both occasions I wasted a morning waiting for the engineer. No prior warning of the engineer not attending was given. When I phoned ADT I was told that there were no engineers available in my area. Which calls into question why the dates for the routine service were booked in the first place. It seems there is a shortage of ADT engineers who are booked on ad hoc basis at the convenience of ADT rather than the customer. I am paying for a service that I am not receiving.

Yes exactly. What happen this time! I feel like I was scammed. To start when I got ADT they asked me what package I wanted. That being said, one that included the door bell. I had no idea what a chime meant and don’t even remember if they asked me if I wanted one but basically the door bell does not come with a ring to it you have to add that for 100 bucks plus 59 for install smh. That’s stupid. So I go ahead and make an appointment so they can do the install because for 5 months I didn’t realize the doorbell wasn’t working. Then when they call to schedule two days later they call to cancel because they only had one guy for ADT that could do it and he was not available anymore. They told me to call them when I got my message, I called four times no answer and they haven’t bothered to call back to reschedule even after I left a voicemail! I’m very disappointed with their service and now I’m stuck with them for 2 yrs and 5 months smh. The worst!
ADT fraudulent sales and service

On Nov 14, 11 days after a total system failure ADT sent a Mr Rodney to service their equipment.
The technician determined a failure of the equipment provided by ADT but stated that they will not honor their contract to repair their faulty equipment and stated that I need to pay $135 for the first 30 minutes and then pay them more for every 30 minute increments in addition to the cost of replacing the faulty equipment. This is a violation of your service contract with me. When I was sold the equipment I was told two things were guaranteed
1. In the event on an incident where the alarms go off or system fails you ADT will contact me or the emergency services to be at our house immediately, this did not happen and I had to call multiple times to get you to send some one to even look at your faulty equipment
2. You sold the equipment to be by stating that any equipment failure is covered in the contract for ADT to fix and at no cost to me
You have engaged in mis representation of your service and engaged in deceptive trade practice in cheating me. I would like for someone senior in the ADT organization to call me to resolve this
We had our ADT system go through a complete system failure during bad weather which cause the system to start a loud alarm and then do a continuous beep every five minutes and then die down after 2 hours or so
During this period NO ONE from ADT called me to check on the emergency alarm which is what they will promise you and well you the system on - ITS a Massive LIE ! And read on to know more and why !
I tried to call their service center over 20 times and each time they would say there is a 80 minute 90 minute 76 minute good time and offer a call back and I would opt for it and NO ONE would call back
Finally after one day I got a call back and the technician could not understand English their reception was very poor and they had absolutely no clue how to trouble shoot. After 44 minutes on the phone I asked them if they could send out a technician and they said all
They could was send me to another so called “ tech expert” and at which point they blurted out being out of another country and working from home so they had NO control over HOW BAD the technology was where you could barely hear or understand what they were saying
At this point I keep pressing them to send a technician and they the tell me that to do that I have to pay them $139 and I get flabbergasted that I pay a monthly fee for my services they guaranteed they would always service it and now all of it is a complete LIE !
I then ask to speak to a manager and they say that the manger will call me whenever! Two days go by and I get a manager voicemail promising a call back but none comes. Five days later I call to cancel my subscription and this is where their SCAM comes alive
They ask me $ 992 to cancel even if you total my monthly subscription for one year that’s a $700 so I don’t know how they came up with one month of fee plus $992 !
At this point I explain my predicament to the lady on the phone and she tells me that her notes state that I refused a technician from visiting my home ( A TOTAL LIE ) and I explain to her why that is logically impossible and she then relents and says a technician will come home 6 days later ! Now I am on day one of six so not sure if they will come but in the meanwhile I Asked her what if My house got broken into and their system would not notify the police because it has failed and that is the ONLY promise from a security company and what should I do then because I am paying for a service that does not exist and they have no guarantees to serve you !
Will you allow such a fraudulent organization to service your house and let your family suffer and let your family be in harms way and wash their hands off ? Decide for yourself !!
ADT is no longer the company I signed…
ADT is no longer the company I signed up with 9 years ago. I live in northern Illinois where the night time temperatures are now in the 30’s. We WERE using the ADT thermostat in our home, that said the thermostat failed and we were without heat in the home. This occurred on Monday November 7th. I place a call to ADT and was told that the fastest they would be able to get someone out to our house would be on the following Friday. Obviously that was not acceptable so I asked to speak to a supervisor and was then told that it could take up to two days for a supervisor to call me back. I called my local HVAC people and had the ADT thermostat replaced and heat up and running in 3 hours. Needless to say I am no longer a ADT customer.
I hope this helps someone from making a bad and potentially dangerous decision to use ADT.

If I could give zero stars I would. Long time customer 20+ years, trying to get sensors and system upgraded… have spent over 6 hours on hold time and talking to agents who send me on wild goose chases. ADT and customer service absolutely sucks… save yourself the frustration and if upgrading go wtih a different company.
I asked ADT to cancel my account a year…
I asked ADT to cancel my account a year ago. They kept calling me about an equipment update and I kept telling them my account should be cancelled but they kept charging me every month. I called a couple of weeks ago and they said we record all calls and have no records of you cancellation. I asked them to cancel yet again and told them to make sure they take a not of that. As I did nit trust them I asked my credit cart company to block any charges from them. Yesterday they called and said you haven’t paid your fees for the month!!!!! It shows that they do not take note/recordings of cancellation requests and no matter what you say continue charging you.
On hold for almost an hour
On hold for almost an hour. One camera not working Suggested "fixes" were obvious -- reboot internet and unplug and plug in camera. Want to set up yet another call to try and "fix" it. And fixing it on app didn't work. But they say they don't "want" to charge. All for $64/month. And now there are multiple sites and apps to download. NOT worth it. Switching first chance I get

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. spoke to two service reps. Very simple issue. Replacing windows in our home need to either have contacts removed and re-placed or upgrade system. First rep could not even understand that. After I repeated it three times he asked me why I wanted an upgrade. He transferred me to second rep, when after a long conversation he could not understand the issue or offer any help. Second person, said she could set us up for a three hour appointment with a sales rep free of charge. Isn't that nice of them to not make me pay for a three hour sales pitch? I booked the appointment with her or so I thought and then said I still need to know, if we need to take the contacts off, will that person be able to do it because our windows are being replaced next week. Her answer was I can't even talk to you about that that's not my department. The phone call went downhill from there as she repeatedly talked over me. I asked her to please stop interrupting me and she told me I'm just going to send you to the department that can help you and then she put me into the general endless customer service loop again. I checked my account and of course she did not book the appointment that she had told me was booked when we spoke. 45 minutes of my Valuable time wasted. This is how ADT treats a customer who's been with them for more than a decade. My husband and I are now shopping around for other alarm services.
