ADT does not deserve any stars
ADT does not deserve any stars. Their style of monitoring is passive aggressive and design to minimize their interaction with customers. When your alarm system goes off, you will receive a text or email. My system recently went offline and when I requested a technician service, the rep refused to schedule on-site service. Rather, she wanted me to deal with the problem and sent a self-help email, which was no different than the information found in the FAQ section of their website. Telephone calls to ADT have you on hold for 15-plus minutes. When I used their online chat feature, I was told all cancellations must be done in writing, and I was given an email address. I’m permanently ending my service with ADT November 2, even though my service has been offline since mid/October meaning it’s not being monitored by ADT. Yet, I’m paying for monitoring service. I n summarily, ADT cares less about unhappy customers opting to cancel their service. I became an unwilling customer when Brink and subsequent Broadview went out of business and sold/handover the accounts to ADT.

ADT from HERO TO ZERO just like that!
ADT is the absolutely worse company I have ever dealt with. They literally put me on hold for hours today when I called and asked to cancel service. They do not let you do it online. That would be too easy and they probably have so many customers leaving this is how they stop the bleeding! Save yourself a lot of headaches. Pick someone better!

Buyer Beware
Just moved into our new house and of course swarmed by sales people. ADT being one of them. Was promised so many things including a plan for 66$ a month with 10$ off if we called in for a discount only to be told it was only 10%. Then we got told equipment was free only to get charged for "upgrades" with the tech. When we called for the discount we also found out we had 3 days to cancel. We took them up on that. After being charged 455$ in less than 3 days we weren't happy. Never got told it was a 3 year contract. Oh and the promise of 10-15% off the homeowner insurance was a huge lie. We got a whole 55cents for the full year >.<. Don't recommend anyone getting ADT. They have too many hidden fees, they use "authorized dealers" that don't work well with the main company and use hugely outdated info. Never again.

10+ year business customer. ADT provides exceptional service during sales and installation process. After that, they are nonexistent. Almost impossible to get a hold of.

I am beyond frustrated with ADT
I am beyond frustrated with ADT. They took out 2,000 dollars from my account without notification, my verbal confirmation or consent. ADT stated I was pending cancellation, meanwhile I was on automatic payments, with both equipment and monthly payments, when Initially signed up. I spoke with two different representatives and they informed me I needed to pay 387 dollars to have my account reinstated, because that was the amount owed prior to the pending cancellation, and ADT was not sure how I was removed of the automatic payments, even though they were taking out equipment charges. Fine, 387 dollars paid, up to date. was never cancelled, now ADT has 2,387 dollars of my money. I was told I’d have a refund of 2,000 into my bank account WITHIN 48 HOURS l!!!! AND after I speak to the ADT tech to make sure everything was working. Phone call with tech went fine- no issues with tech or my system…. 72 HOURS LATER NO REFUND!!! I called customer service got transferred about 5 times, had to explain my story and verify my security code and residence address every single time and waited over an hour, just to be disconnected!!!!! Call again, once again verify my residence and security code, the representative was clearly frustrated at me and my situation, but hello sir, I have a right to be frustrated I’m out 2,000 as ADT is just holding on to the funds as collateral, and meanwhile my account is not cancelled. The representative informed me ADT had to make sure the funds were there. Make sure it’s Where??!! It’s money ADT took out, to get my attention, job well done 👍🏽 Therefore, it will be there, and rightfully needs to be returned. Then the representative went on to say it would take 3-5 business days to go on my Adt account as a credit then I would have to call again and have it taken off my account as a credit into my bank account within 10 business days!!! Hopefully that’s not another battle I will have to face. Totally different story from the first representative who said I’d have it within 48 hours after I speak with a tech. Just don’t bother, robbery at its finest.

ADT - the bad review champion
The other reviews posted here pretty much sum up my own experience with ADT. Easy to sign up, very difficult to discontinue service or contact billing, etc. due to the poor customer service and extremely long wait times. Note: you can only cancel service over the phone, there's no online option. Plus you need to give them 30 days notice when cancelling. Their actual on the ground response time to an alarm activation was 20-30 minutes. Is this mediocre performance worth over $100 a month, year after year? Not to me when there are so many affordable do-it-yourself security camera, door and window activation devices, etc. out there as alternatives to dealing in any way with this terrible company.

Worst Contract and Customer Service I have ever heard of
Our small business had ADT set up summer 2022. From the beginning of the contract, we had massive issues with the equipment/technicians/and customer service. I want to explain all of these in detail so people reading this can avoid the same mistake that we made by using this company. During our initial install, before even arriving on the premise the technician asked for directions were rude and yelled at our employee. When they finally found the location (we are around 1 mile away from ADTs local office) they once again yelled at the same employee. They also quickly requested to speak with the owner and were dismissive towards the women working in the office... After speaking with the owner, the install was still done incorrectly. After waiting a month for ADT to correct this, they sent their 'pro' technician from another state to assist. He drove hours from another state and the light drizzle of rain prevented him from taking the single necessary step on a ladder that was required to move a camera. After waiting another month for the next technician. They arrived and refused to make any changes to the equipment without approval from the owner. They did not accept the direction from the women working in the office and once again were rude and dismissive. This technician also refused to wait 5-10 minutes for the owner to arrive and promptly left. If you have read this far and think that this must be grounds for terminating the contract you would be wrong. They categorized all of our visits as part of the initial install and not service visits. If you have problems during multiple service visits they will cancel your contract. They can do this to keep you in the contract for longer, I really do not understand how this is not more recognized as a scam. You have no control over what type of service visit it is. I had 6-8 phone calls with ADT in a single day (the phone calls kept dropping due to problems at their call center) with the long holds it lasted from 9am-6pm and then a couple more into the next day just to end the contract. On the phone I clearly explained all of the issues we had. They had no time for it and did not care. They tried to offer 'deals' they tried to offer free months (which we never got) and they even tried to send back the 'pro' guy again to fix the issues. Of all the people I talked to a single person agreed that this was unacceptable behavior and told me to call them back specifically and they would end the contract for us. After I spent time detailing all of the issues and called back asking to speak with the same person, I was told that 'I was not able to speak with them', and that cancelling the contract was not included in her notes on the ticket. I was also told that technician's behavior, pretty much whatever it is, is not grounds for terminating the contract. I tried to get ahold of someone locally to avoid being on hold for so long with customer service. Most people had quit at their local office including the manager for small business accounts, they told me they haven't been able to find a replacement. They gave me the number for two regional managers who have never answered their phones after repeated attempts. In the end they charged $1600 to a small business for equipment that never worked, they lied, we had a break in attempt during this time period and lost a bunch of time just trying to get them to stop billing us. Easily the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a business.

I was with this company 3 yrs NEVER …
I was with this company 3 yrs NEVER late once. Found out you have to give them 30 days notice, even though my contract was over in the same month. It only took 3 calls and over 2.5 hours to finally speak with someone. I went to Simplisafe. Went from paying $50 to $18 a month for the same coverage and equipment.

This is the worst company!!!
This is the worst company!!!! Run away fast!! Sensor broke and they took my money and never sent someone to repair the part. Over 2 months of back and forth. Waiting on hold to be told someone would take care of it! Still no working sensor on the front door! I will be contacting BBB and any other organizations to report this company. I will also cancel service. Which they have been taking out every month and it gets a few dollors more every few months. This company are full of crooks! GO WITH A OTHER COMPANY!!!!!!

Don’t use them !
Been with this ADT for seven years never missed a payment of sudden I’m moving I called them up and they tell me I owe them $878 in contract fees that I have never signed any contract with them and told me oh but if you buy a new home within two years will credit that back to you but I already have another home with a DT cancel both of them and I have to pay $575 for my cottage to cancel out of a contract that I didn’t know I was in there is much better companies out there than dealing with these jerks!

PREDATORY CONTRACT - RUN
Been w them since 2020, all good, then I moved and they (without my knowledge) EXTENDED/restarted my contract and made it a 60 MONTH!!! Contract 5 years!!! So naturally I need to cancel, I call to ask how much and they say 1500!! Not counting the 50/mo Ive been paying without living in the property. Today they tried to ring my card for 1500 without my authorization. Thankfully, it declined.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH ADT
Absolutely atrocious service from ADT. Unable to give an ETA for an engineer to ring late at night to fix a simple error code. Could not care less. Really don’t see the point in this company at all. If they’d repaired the issue on their alarm system in the first place, at our cost, this situation would not be.

Why can’t I give zero stars
Update: After seeing my negative reviews, ADT pretty quickly contacted me to rectify the situation. Within a week, the situation was handled appropriately. I wish I had known that the best way to get a customer service response is through a negative review. Why can’t I give zero stars? ADT does not even deserve 1 pity star. Once you are a customer, you will never be able to speak to an ADT worker again. Go ahead and try calling customer service. They’ll just hand you off from one person to another for hours. I ordered and paid for an additional sensor. They never sent it to me. When I called to ask about it, I spent 4 hours on hold over multiple days trying to get someone to simply send me the part I’d paid for. Do not waste your time.

My question is WHEN are all you suckers going to learn and STOP paying them for services you are not receiving. These criminals are making FOOLS of all you clients and customers. Does breach of contract or treble and tort damages ring a bell here. PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

The WORST customer service I've ever…
The WORST customer service I've ever received. It took over 7 weeks to get a working system. They (except for one - ONE - lovely soul) all acted like it was my problem and they couldn't care less. One positive review I saw said it only took them 4 weeks to get her system going. 4 weeks is the best? I could go on for ages or write a book about how awful they were, but, please save yourself. For reference for their other victims: there’s no sorry or even motions to help but they’re “sorry” in these public forums. No, you can’t have my info. You weren’t interested in helping when I begged for help. It’s very clear this is your way of doing business and I’m not falling for the farce. Get better.

Customer for 33 years
I have been a customer with ADT for 33 years. For the past several months I have noticed additional charges on my bill. Every single time I call, a different customer service rep gives me different reasons for the charges. I have been trying to reach someone in billing disputes for over 3 months. I hold for over an hour only to be cut off before someone answers. I am even having trouble reaching the department to terminate my service. Every single time I call I am transferred to different departments with obscene hold times with no resolution. ADT's Customer Service is absolutely awful. I don't know what has happened but it was not always like this.

ADT sucks!
ADT is very helpful and prompt during the sales and installation process. But they have a bait and switch in place! Once everything is installed and you’ve signed the contract, their service for any issues afterwards SUCKS! It’s very difficult to schedule appointments or even talk to someone! NEVER USE ADT!!! Can’t wait for my contract to be up so that I can cancel my service with them!

Do not get service from adt
Do not get service from adt. I was two years into a 36 month contract. I called in and notified them I bought another house and I needed to disconnect then reconnect at the new house. They told me the early termination fee would be credited when service was installed at the new address. They took their money swiftly from my auto payment method. $335. After I moved I called in to set up an install and they almost doubled what I was paying at the old house. They also informed me they no longer do systems in this area where the shop and house are on the same system like my old house. That meant two separate systems at almost double the price each! I paid upfront for all my equipment which was $2400 for my previous home. Total waste of money.

I had ADT installed a week ago
I had ADT installed a week ago. The tech installing my equipment hit a wire and knocked out power to my living room. His boss said they would pay for. I was to text 3 quotes to the tech. Texted and got no response. I called into customer service on Monday and was told they were entering a work order to get this done and that the tech regional manager would be contacting me. Still nothing. I'm left with a system I cannot use and no power in my living room. This is the worst experience and customer service. Update: it's been over a month and still no resolution. I'm paying for a service I can't use and this company gives me the run around about getting my power fixed. DO NOT USE ADT/SAFE HAVEN. Worst company.

I signed a contract with adt in 07/2020 after my now ex-husband threatened to kill me and my son. On 7/10/2020 he came to my house and pulled a gun on my son. He fled to his house after my son called 911. It was there that he had a shootout with the police and is now in prison for attempted murder. I got ADT within a week. I told the adt rep my situation and informed him cameras were CRITICAL as i was afraid of him posting bond. The rep assured me the package i bought would fulfill my needs. The cameras rarely worked and when they did it was momentarily after buffering for minutes. I made multiple calls to adt and they came out 3 times but could not resolve the problem. I was told it was my internet so i bought new equipment but it did not help. I was under contract so i kept paying. However, I NEVER ACTIVATED MY SERVICE because it was worthless. Finally after 27 months I canceled because I read online that if I fulfilled 75% of my contract I could cancel. I told adt this when i called. I also reminded them my service was never activated because of the problems yet ive paid for 27 months. Adt rep told me it would take 30 days and then transferred me to another department where I received a hard sales pitch but I declined. Never during my call was I informed I would be charged for the remainder of my contract. They took 394.86 from my account! The autopay was set up with my bank account so they just used it! No email, no text, just took it. There is a big difference between 64 per month and 396.86. They are deceptive crooks. Its sad because they have been in business for a long time which is why I chose them. Another business lost through by corporate greed. They have terrible reviews excluding those found on their own website. I wish i would have researched them beforehand but I was understandably under duress. I trusted their brand but I will not do that again.

ADT is one of the worst companies I've ever worked with. I've been spending weeks trying to contact their customer service without success. My system doesn't work and they refuse to fix it. The representatives either argued with me or hung up on me. And they continue to charge me. Pathetic!
