ADT is horrible stay away don’t not sign with them
ADT is horrible I had someone outside my house trying to get in and I pushed the panic button and the alarms didn’t go off till I hit it over three times, then I moved and was told everything would be transferred over to the new home free of charge and they try to charge me all these fees plus sign another two year contract so I finally had enough and canceled, I told them not to pull the final amount from my account to just bill me and they sent me a bill then this morning I looked at my account and they took it from my account after they told me they wouldn’t!!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY

Thinking of choosing ADT? Search hard for anything other than this company.
ADT installed 4 cameras at our home. They regularly do not record clips and stay offline most of the time. The person who installed them did not do a good job of setting them up and we’ve had to call them back out twice. Now, none of them work at all after less than a year. Do not use this company! It was a waste and now we’re in a 3 year contract (2 more years to go - I cannot wait to be done with them).

Basically a Sophisticated Scam
I've had consistent issues with equipment functioning properly, and several times had to have techs out to fix the doorbell. Now the video doesn't even load and hasn't for weeks. If you're out of town or state, forget getting help from them if you're worried about a security risk because they say someone has to be home in order to help. We had a glass break sensor installed when we bought our home and once it went off, they didn't contact us. We only found out when we called to have the doorbell checked and they mentioned it in passing, saying "we don't usually contact you as we expect you to call us first." The insane cancellation fee of $2500 is such a steep cost for such crappy service and products on top of the monthly fee.

Egregiously high costs, hidden fees, scam tactics
The security devices ADT installs are available on the market (Amazon) for $20-30, but ADT charges $150+ for each. You cannot purchase your own and connect them to your ADT system. Your installation bill will likely be $1,000+ to accommodate everything they recommend. I so wish I went with Simplisafe for their reasonable and competitive product pricing. Then, after a year of service, I was charged $638.12 for an out-of-the-blue "cancellation". I called to continue my service, in borderline panic that someone called and cancelled my service so they could break into my home, waited an hour on the phone, and was tossed around between departments. They explained that a neighbor of mine with a similar address was starting service, and the customer service agent accidentally cancelled my service while starting theirs - meaning we had NO coverage for TWO weeks while we were out of town. They finally refunded the cancellation fee - but sent me a new monthly contract to re-sign that was DOUBLE the original that was "canceled". When I called that out, I was tossed back to another person to update my contract that should have never been canceled in the first place. If you sign with ADT, you NEED to be on top of your account. They will charge hidden fees left and right, and getting helpful support is borderline impossible, unless you have hours to spare on the phone. The response below is indicative of their support. Clearly, they didn't understand my concern - I did not cancel my contract, it was canceled on me due to customer service error with a neighbor's installation, and I was left without service for two weeks, unbeknownst to me until I was billed $638.12.

Unethical processes for cancellation
Unethical processes for cancellation Once you sign the contract basically you're locked in for life time, they make the move out so difficult that even with legitimate reasons you cant leave them so easily. For e.g. I'm over the phone trying to cancel for the past 1 hour waiting and some have said we need to fax them for cancellation. Very expensive compared to their competitors for the same service.

THE WORST!!!
In all the years I’ve been a home owner, never have I had a more upsetting experience than w the ADT technician. He was uninterested in rectifying an issue by trouble shooting it, and had no idea how to fix a simple beep and wouldn’t reach out for sufficient help. After first day he worked on problem, he left and my alarm went off that night while I was sleeping. Thinking I was getting robbed wasn’t bad enough, but I couldn't disarm it w/o ADT support.Two days later when he returned I finally had to contact a supervisor to get him to try different remedies because he was unwilling, and got very angry after I had questioned what he was trying. After the supervisor instructed him to try other options, he became obviously short tempered and rude. My neighbor (and ADT customer as well), had come in and asked if the work had a warrantee,..he snapped at her saying “I don't have to answer you!” He left visibly mad.Obviously he appears to have anger issues in addition to inexperience. It appears the problem is that I “upgraded” to several $300 key pads just last year, but was never told they are faulty and they often break. So now they want me to pay for a monthly service contract to cover future problems. Gotta love the racket!

Think twice before deciding on ADT
We moved into a new home that had an extensive ADT system installed. A technician came out and spent about 3 hours activating the system. All good and up and running? Nope. On phone for over 1 hour 42 minutes speaking to four different departments without resolution. No one has any idea why we can't see or active the ADT Pulse app. We had simplisafe system before and it was 1-2-3 up and running and monitored. ADT tech came out and said all was up and running. The system apparently work, but we cannot see or monitor anything. No online or app access. Again now, 2h 56 mins and counting to try to resolve. System is active, but no visibility. No one at ADT can tell me why, how to resolve or otherwise. I am tempted to pull the ADT system and reinstall my simplisafe system and have it up and running immediately. ADT step up. Your support and technology is substandard.

I did an upgrade with my security…
I did an upgrade with my security system recently, I have been an ADT customer for over 30 years. It has been a nightmare dealing with them. I was told what I would receive for $609.00, the technician came out starting adding all this other stuff on and said it would only be $10.00 more,I received an email with the price of $1559.00. The cameras are the worst, one goes black at night. I called ADT that Monday telling them to come and take this junk out of my home. All I have been getting is, someone will call you back, which never happened. I don't advise anyone to do business with ADT, such lier. I have contacted an attorney on this matter.

From the customer service to the equipment is all wrong the customer service didn’t even know what they were doing. Every time I would arm my hub it would change into disarmed over and over again strangely enough. I know I must’ve talked to as many as 20 techs and none of them could fix the problem ADT is the worse and they should be sued please stay away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost a Potential Customer
I’m not even a customer, but I wanted to be. There was a coupon code through my job. I signed up for a quote. These people call me all day, everyday. Even AFTER I called back and said that I’ll consider their services because my Ring Doorbells are cheaper than their services. STILL won’t stop, so I won’t be using their services and I’ll be blocking the number. They don’t need to call me every 2 hours every single day.

incorrect service and billing
ADT somehow reactivated an address I had not lived at in 2 years and inactivated my current address. I called mulitple times to get service reactivated and finally had a technician lined up. When I got the confirmation email I saw it was for the old address. After being on hold for over an hour I found out only then that I'd been paying but had no service for 6 months. I've been on hold for over an hour and simply stated I want my money back for those several months and to cancel service. It's nothing but being on hold nd waiting for a manager. All only to get money back for a service I'm not getting and to cancel because they HAVEN'T PROVIDED ME SERVICE. Funny how you listen to a constant looped message about burglary but they are the thieves. no ethics and no customer service who actually responds.

ADT Safe Haven in Virginia Beach
ADT Safe Haven in Virginia Beach, VA sucks. Issues with a Tech not showing up- no call no email. Called Safe Haven EVERYDAY and no one has called me back in 4 days- left my name and number but how Quickly do they collect their Bills. Now it appears they are messing with my service. This security company is the worst- I regret recommending them to friends. DO NOT CHOOSE ADT, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

They are the worst…
They are the worst company..........Technician was supposed to be out between 1 and 5 today. He never showed up never got email or phone call from them. I called ADT they couldn't give me an answer why he never showed up...... GO ELSEWHERE DO NOT GO WITH ADT.

Your people trick my mother in law who has dementia and now you won't let her out of the contract .She is on a limited income she cannot afford it. Her rent is &900 dollars a month plus her lights water and gas and food she cannot afford ta pay for ever thing on a limited income .

Nothing but issues with ADT
I have had nothing but issues with ADT. Constant errors and issues. Technician was supposed to be out between 12 and 4 today for recent issues. They never showed up and I lost 5 hours of work because of them and now I have to reschedule again and lose more work hours. My alarm goes off randomly and this ADT actually has us more paranoid than feeling safe. When I do call, they have some sort of system errors that magically start working. Happened 3 times today when I called. No way would I recommend them.

Buy a big dog
I have had ADT in two separate homes over many years so I think I can provide an accurate assessment and factual review...in short, go with someone else. In both homes ADT system has had frequent drops in their wifi security system requiring contact with ADT, having a service rep come to fix (and of course paying for the "service call"), and of course taking days to get the particular device up running again. The worst part, had a porch pirate and ADT camera only does short video clips that the front door camera did NOT capture the porch pirate in the act! What good is paying a ridiculous amount of money for a system and monthly fees when it is useless. Today, tried to get in touch with ADT and because of a "system error" I could not make contact with customer support (no customer support). The list of failures by ADT is numerous but it just comes down to research a company, read independent reviews, not those posted by the company, then save your money and get a big dog.

ADT is a rip-off and they price gouge
ADT is refusing to give documentation showing that the owner of the property signed saying they would continue the contract once the tenant vacated. They also charged over $500 to replace a smoke detector! They refuse to work with the owner or to hold the tenant responsible.

Constant False Alarms and Fines for Dispatch. Do NOT recommend them
Terrible to work with. I've had 2 false alarms in the same month and had to pay 2 fines of $300+ from LAPD because they dispatched LAPD to come out. Even after the first false alarm they came out to perform tests, replaced old batteries on our system to figure out if that would solve the false alarm issue. But it did not and they would not issue us credit for the fines we received. I get calls from them at least a few times a month about our alarm going off and each time I check the cameras it is a false alarm. Super annoying how often this occurs GO ELSEWHERE DO NOT GO WITH ADT.

this is a STUPID company
this is a STUPID, INCOMPETENT company . all they know is to keep you on hold and disconnect. I have contact more than half a dozen times and the issues is not resolved. The keep transferring to another incompetent person.

ADT is the most heartless company I have ever done business with. While I had ADT, someone climbed through my bedroom window and threatened my life. The next day I upped my service in an effort to protect myself and now that I have sold my home, after many years with ADT, they are slapping me with an $800 bill for breaking my contract early because it was reinstated when I increased service after the break-in. ADT is an unethical, un-compassionate company. I encourage anyone seeking out a security system to go with a different company and to never sign a contract. Update - do not be fooled by ADT's reply to this review. That is all for show. They have done nothing to resolve this issue and I have spoken to multiple people at ADT.

They are the worst company!!!!!
They are the worst company!!!!!! Our sales person was awesome, but everyone else in that company doesn't care about their customers. We have been trying for the tech supervisor to call us back for over 25 calls and never returns our calls. The tech that put in the cameras was a real jerk, it was a Saturday and you knew he didn't want to be there. He never asked what we wanted to use as a password or anything else. He put in his own thing and the cameras were not set right, so we had another tech come in and he couldn't do anything because he couldn't get in because we never new the password. We stopped our payments, so maybe when they find that out they will finally call us. NEVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY.

do NOT work for ADT, they are a terrible company! Also, do not buy it either, they give you garbage equipment and lock you in to a contract. I have never seen so much dishonesty in a workplace before.
