Alarms are just in first floor they…
Alarms are just in first floor they said no one will try to climb the second floor. Our alarm system rang for a minute two times but we never got a call or something. Sometimes the ring app shows movement behind the door but there is no one. We asked for cancellation of services they said we have to pay the full money for 2 years of contract. The monthly charges are high but for nothing.

ADT mandatory 2 way verification
Doorbell ringing 9pm, I check app on phone to see who it is. Posted is a request to register for 2 way verification. which does not allow me to view who is at my door. Call support, and told this s registration is mandatory, and can not be bypassed. Told to complete registration, and then camera will be cleared to see who is at door!!! RESPONSE to ADT: You asked if I was in need of help to call support Well, I was being placed in an dangerous situation ( unable to use doorbell camera) which I am paying for. NO ONE I SPOKE TO ON 2/4 ATTEMPTED TO HELP. Therefore I was forced to complete this 2 way verification, so I could use the product I am paying for. WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS ADT!!!

Terrible service and customer service
We called to have a technician in for a service of our ADT systems....all our fire alarms, CO alarms, temperature and water. All was in working order but hadn’t been checked in a few years. Technician didn’t show up after we waited 12-5:00. Then they sent an inexperienced person (very nice)... after he left all our smoke alarms started pinging as if batteries low, doors started showing up as smoke alarm. Middle of the night pinging going on everywhere. We had to shut the whole system off. We called to have an experienced person come out. We were scheduled 2 days later 12-5:00 we had to be here. No one showed up! Called again and ADT tried again in a 12-5:00 window. Again a no show! Now we’re on for a week from now. A clown show. No confidence. Poor service to say the least

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. When I asked a question, I was told to google it. It's unbelievable, but of course the sales person is calling to see if I would reinstate my plan with them. Never again

You guys are dishonest and have…
You guys are dishonest and have horrible customer service. You send someone out with the intention of just to tell us about your company and to get a free doorbell camera but when the guy got to our house he just started installing things and then just kept pressuring us to buy more stuff and was there till midnight trying to get us to spend 6,000$ on something we don’t need then made it sound like we had a week to try it out. We didn’t use it once and then we try and cancel after a week and you tell me too bad you’re stuck with it even though we will never use it. What kind of a company are you???

Dishonest and incompetent
Dreadful company. I have been trying for six months to extract my elderly parents from a long term alarm contract they’ve had with them. They don’t answer the phone. When they do you almost wish they hadn’t as you get to talk to someone who sounds totally incompetent and they always claim that no one is available to speak to you in the department that could deal with your query. Then they promise to phone back and don’t. I finally cancelled my parents’ contract in December 2020 and they are still invoicing them telling them they owe £89. They have now started phoning them too. This is a wheelchair bound lady and a bed bound paralysed man. They have never had an unpaid bill in their lives and are terrified. They want to just pay this money they don’t owe just to get ADT off their backs. It’s nothing short of bullying and harassment of extremely vulnerable people. I’ve told ADT repeatedly that the contract is cancelled and that they are scaring two people in their 80s and they just won’t stop. Reading other reviews here this sort of behaviour is par for the course with ADT. Don’t touch them with a barge pole would be my advice.

Dreadful custom service
First of all waited a few good weeks for the equipment to be installed ! The mess left behind was totally unacceptable. I activated the alarm once , was moved from the property due to domestic violence, informed ADT straight away , was told contract would be terminated ASAP with no charge due to situation and the short amount of time I was in the property!! 4 months later without any communication I have solicitors letters a ccj and a £900 bill . When I tried to discuss this with them they denyed all acknowledgement of any calls although I provided the name of the person I spoke to or the email I also sent (I still have a copy of this) !!

J'ai voulu canceller ils y a 2 ans. On m'a dit que si je cancelle avant la fin de mon contrat de 3 ans. J'ai des frais de $200.00 Donc j'ai crû avoir terminé mon contrat et j'ai demandé cette année de canceller et maintenant ont me dit que j'ai un contrat de 5 ans et j'ai encore des frais. Ce n'est pas possible d'être aussi mal honnête. On est juste des machines à payer des compagnies mal honnête, et le gouvernement ne fait rien de l'abus de pouvoir de cette compagnie. J'écris en français on me répond en anglais, pas fort votre service à la clientèle.

BAD EQUIPMENT FOR RENT
FIRST OF ALL, I UPGRADED MY EQIIPMEMT, BIG MISTAKE. I RECIEVED CAMERAS, NEW SENSORS, AND MOTIONS DETECTERS. NONE OF THIS EQUIPMENT FUNCTIONS PROPERLY. I REQUESTED A CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL THROUGH TECHNICAL SUPPORT. TECH AGENT TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO SPLIT MY WI-FI IN ORDER FOR MY CAMERAS AND EQUIPMENT TO WORK. I WOULD HAVE NEVER RENEWED MY CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY HAD I KNOWN THIS. THE EQUIPMENT THAT I HAVE IS SOMEWHAT ANTIQUATED. I HAVE SEEN UPDATED ADT EQUIPMENT ON LINE, SO I KNOW FOR A FACT MY EQIPMENT IS OUTDATED. CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT SENT A SERVICE TECH. SO, WHAT DO YOU DO. WELL I PLAN TO SEND ALL OF THIS CRAP BACK TO ADT, IF THEY TELL ME THAT THIS IS THE BEST EQUIPMENT THEY HAVE, THEN THEY BETTER SEND A QUALIFIED TECH TO SPLIT THE 5 G'S. ALSO I TRIED TO TERMINATE MY SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES I AM HAVING. CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME I AM TIED TO A 2 YEAR CONTRACT. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH ADT..... ANYONE LOOKING TO SUBSCRIBE TO A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM, USE GOOD JUDGEMENT. ADT HAVE NOT RESOLVED MY ISSUE, AND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ARE SIMILAR TO WHAT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING.

For being the nation's oldest security…
For being the nation's oldest security firm, ADT truly sucks and I can see why they are rated so poor. Our system started alarming at 3am for no apparent reason. They responded by sending a tech out a month later. So our home is without security for a month,vi can't meet the tech today since I have my own business to run and getting ahold of customer service resulted in our wish to cancel due to breach of contract. They're blaming Covid, good for them. I'm going to pursue legal action since their idea of satisfying a client is to screw them into the ground.

Competitors are outgrowing ADT for a reason...
*I'll save you the reading below. USE SIMPLI SAFE for your BUSINESS. Why Pay ADT $600+ for an install for sensors they stick to the wall with command strips when you can do the same thing yourself with a ladder. Why pay $55+ a month for a system that charges you every time you want another feature or additional sensor. Sure, they have X product but it will be another fee, another monthly cost added to your bill. We switched to Simpli Safe for our business $25 a month every sensor you can imagine including smoke sensors and we can cancel any time. Save the crazy install costs from ADT and the headache of zero customer support. We had ADT install two separate Pulse systems at our new stores in Auburn, Maine. Once they came out to install my nightmare began.. They set one system up in the wrong building and set up the entire Pulse system with someone else's email (we are guessing whoever was at that property last). Now we have a system installed in the wrong building, labeled wrong, and with a complete stranger being the only one that can activate our account, ARM, and DISARM our entire store. I was struggling to see how the $600+ installation we where charged per building (we have two buildings 100 ft. from each other) was worth the money. I asked about fire alarm monitoring. Of course they offer that, but it's through another "sister" company. That would require another install fee and another monthly fee and another contract. They finally fixed the email issue a week later but we had enough. This system for two buildings had cost us over $3,500 with a monthly charge of over $110, installed wrong, and better system existed with more features for less. I wouldn't be so upset and I wouldn't be changing our other stores over to Simpli Safe if it wasn't for the horrible customer service. Mistakes happen I could have let all of the install and user issues go but when it came time for me to talk to someone at the "Mythical Local ADT Branch" I was handed around like a hot potato. I have never been contacted by this local ADT Branch. They wouldn't give me a phone number or person to talk to. They told me the manager would reach out. I have never been contacted and I have spoke to ADP corporate 16 times. I say Mythical Local ADT Branch as a joke but it really feels like this local branch that is the only one that can release us from our contract, was completely made up. Now I'm stuck paying an additional $1100 to get out of a contract for a system that wasn't set up right. I installed a Simpli Safe system in both buildings myself and it cost me $2100. I have triple the amount of motion sensors, double the amount of glass break sensors, a freeze sensor for our pipes, flood sensor for our pump room, smoke detectors, and wifi cameras as a backup to our security camera system for $50 a month (both buildings). I paid less, got more, and I know when I pick up the phone with an issue I will be speaking to someone that can help me not just someone to log my notes. *Update 2.22.2021. "Tim" from ADT has emailed me once and assured me we would receive our full refund as promised. I have emailed him twice for more information and with questions I had. HE has not responded after his first email. We we're only refunded a portion and they still owe us $1,500. I guess the only way to get someone from ADT to respond is to expose the horrible customer service.

If I could give a zero I would. We have had our service for 6 months .we have had issues since day one. We have had someone come out 4 times and the issue is not solved. It's advertised that if you are not satisfied they guarantee your money back,lies. They have been giving us the run around and trying to force us to buy out of our contract. We are paying for a service that we are not receiving. These guys have came to my house 4 times and still could not fix the problem. They want us to add more boosters that possibly gives off radiation to our home, which none of this was mentioned prior to taking my money, if I were told that in the beginning this garbage would have not been installed in my home. I feel like we have been robbed. I plan on sharing this with anyone who may consider this company and will be reporting them to the BBB. No hassle money back guarantee is a Lie.

Debited account $400 without notice
We are all working remotely, the staff has taken their computers home. I called to terminate the service in November 2020 because we were spending $60/month for nothing. I was not notified there would be a cancellation charge. In December I was automatically charged $400 without any notification or my authorization. I called and was told it was a contract and they charged the rest of the year. This was an account I had for over 6 years. Horrible customer service to not notify of charge like this. Don't give these people access to your bank account. I no longer trust these people and will terminate the home account, because I don't want to give them my business ever again.

Charging a dead man for an alarm service that has not been used in a year.
We contacted them in April of 2020 to let them know my dad had a stroke and was in the hospital for the foreseeable future. We wanted the alarm system cancelled. They said there would be a charge for early termination of the contract and we were fine with that. June , we contacted them again because he was still being billed. July, Sept, same thing., He passed away in October. They are still charging him and he's been dead 3 months. This is horrible. From excuses that we need a password to they want to speak to him ( he had a full blown stroke, unable to speak, didn't know who we were ). They have been stealing money for a year. I am on hold with them yet again, 19 minutes, hearing tacky music and recorded voices telling me they are the best and they take pride in what they do. Horrible.

ADT Lost me after 25 years
I have been a ADT customer for 25 years!!. Postponed my service do to moving. With covid and the market I decided not to move. Called to restart service after 3 months. They couldn't just restart,, they had to come out to my house. After 2 hours of back and forth, phone calls to his boss, the "salesman" tried to charge me $99 to come back out again at a later date to check all the equipment even though I'd been paying a service warranty for 25 years. Then tried to sell me $800 of unnecessary equipment rolled into a monthly payment of nearly $70/month. That increased my monthly payment 60%... and a new 3 year contract.. Told me they only give monthly discounts to loyal customers. I guess 25 consecutive years isn't consider loyal. I thought I was on an episode of punked. Politely declined everything. Hooked up ring for $10/month. I had to pay for some equipment but I was able to use most of the existing equipment. The cost averaging over 2 years saved me money. With SO MUCH competition I expected so much more. All I could do was...bye.

ADT placed the kitchen fire alarm 13…
ADT placed the kitchen fire alarm 13 feet above the floor. This is pretty tough for and old person to deal with when the battery goes out or simply to wave the smoke away if one forgets the garlic bread is under the broiler. I have set mine off on 3 different occasions and ADT has never called to see why my alarm is going off. When the batteries go out the warning beeps give my epileptic dog seizures. When the main panel battery went out they sent three incorrect replacement batteries before sending one that worked. I do not recommend ADT.

DO NOT get your home security through…
DO NOT get your home security through ADT. Have been a customer since 2018 and finally have the opportunity to cancel service. Ridiculous, expensive contracts is how they stick it to you. I was told, by their contractor, that if I sold my home - there weren't any termination charges. At all. I found out later that wasn't true. I trusted the guy and discovered he lied. The cameras barely work, the quality is poor and their customer service is non-existent. Once they have you, they could care less. Any time there is an equipment problem you'll get charged for the service call and new equipment. Even if it's brand new! Save yourself a ton of hassle and get a couple of inexpensive Ring cameras and a $10 a year monitoring contract. We ended up installing those right next to the ADT cameras and they are significantly better. And, they have sound. And, you can set the alarm off remotely. ADT gets a huge zero from these long time customer. Never again.

Buyer beware
Buyer beware, cameras do not function properly and we have three placed on our home for safety! The front doorbell takes forever to connect, when it connects, if you attempt use intercom to speak with person at door they will have left! Front cameras placed to capture our vehicles will not capture anyone trying break in. Numerous times walked right front camera never captured me. Backyard camera same thing. Had these installed for safety and they are useless. Calling ADT is also useless! Anytime they come out to adjust or replace leads to more problems and a complete waste of my time. My contract up in August and I can’t wait! Paying for nothing each month. ADT has not given me the security and safety they advertise. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Stay away from this company! Look at all the negative reviews not just this one! Terrible waste of money for system that does not work!!!!

Where do I begin
Where do I begin. I had an issue with my panel after a power outage. It was most likely a software issue that could be solved over the phone due to all the troubleshooting I've done prior to calling customer service. I called customer service and the representative insisted it was a hardware issue and scheduled an appointment for the upcoming Wednesday. I swore he said the appointment was for 1/27. I waited on 1/27, and no one showed up, it was infact scheduled for next Wednesday. I called and had it reschedule to 1/28 morning. The tech came and spent 3 hours in total trying to troubleshoot. He was obviously not trained at all. Watching him fiddle around with the panel, it all seemed so foreign to him. I had to teach him how to re-add a new device, how to link the device to the panel and to reboot the device. He then mentioned that he was not trained on that particular panel, which is just ridiculous. Why waste my time to send someone who knows less than I do about your products? After 2-3 hours of him calling tech support and other techs, no one he called could help him to figure it out. After 3 hours of going absolutely no where, I figured to try to give a shot to switch the network that the panel was on to the 2.4ghz network from the 5G network and it fixed the issue. Im not mad at the Tech or the customer rep because they were trying their best. I'm mad at the inadequate training that ADT has provided to these individuals. You know it is bad when a customer has to teach the tech support technician that is supposed to be the expert. I could have probably figured it out myself eventually, it wasted more time contacting ADT support and it was definitely more frustrating. This is not the first time that this has happened. Almost everyone (besides one lady, her name is Natalie) that has assisted me from ADT has been inadequately trained and just highly incompetent. I had one phone call where the associate asked me to take apart my door lock myself for no apparent reason, she was obviously reading from the manual and had no clue what she was doing. I'm frustrated on why I paid such a large sum of money to install cheap plastic hardware and have to pay an expensive monthly payment when the support is so bad. There are other companies that are significantly cheaper and provide better support and similar service. We chose ADT because of the brand and reputation it had, but I guess we were wrong. The "maintenance plan" is a joke. The tech support is 0/10, so so so bad. Just unbelievably bad especially for a well-known company, which is just inexcusable. We will be switching and I don't recommend ADT at all. There are cheaper and better alternatives, more expensive is not always better.

Buyer beware I am a 70 year old disabled veteran. I recently had an alarm put in my house and have had nothing but trouble first off had them take direct payments from my bank signed up right from the beginning kept getting calls from them saying we did not pay after many calls they fixed.that .A month later it happened again. Now this is getting ridiculous then finally they fix that . Then the battery failed they sent a new one 2 weeks later the wrong battery showed up said they can’t mail the correct one for some reason. So we had scheduled service to replace the battery. When the service guy showed up he said battery was fine it just needed a reboot and told us how to do it Now we thought everything was OK we have another problem when we signed up the day that he installed it it was only supposed to be $20 a month then he talked us into spending more ended up paying $40 a month and would own the equipment I recently got a telephone call from from them saying we owed for the equipment about 1800.00 we were told by the installer that $40 would cover the equipment we never were told we had to buy the equipment so my wife went on line and looked up our account and downloaded a contract that I’ve never seen the only thing I ever signed was what the installer had little portable screen Was not shown the contract . When we read this multiple page document it showed my signature was digitally put on this contract that was never shown could not even tell it was mine signature . We had this installed during COVID we were trying to keep our distance so trusting what he had us sign he just said sign here and did not say it was a contract to read . Multiple calls they said you signed it . This is my first time posting something I told them I would take the equipment out and send it back they said they can’t do that. I’m stuck because they can ruin my credit. My next step is the Better business bureau, Attorney general and then court. By the way I thought it was guaranteed 6 months

ADT IS THE WORST EVER
ADT IS THE WORST EVER! We closed on our new home and didn’t transfer the service because the home we had built came with a different security system. ADT even sent a check to us after we canceled. Then months later we get a collection letter saying we owe a payment. This is a disgusting act and ADT will never see a dime of money from me ever again. Trash service!!!!! Veterans stay away!!

ADT's systems work almost as well as…
Had ADT once, cancelled it in 3 days. ADT's systems are consistently rated the worst--their business model is outdated, stupid (pushy, agressive sales tactics, long-term contracts w/cancellation fees, old, unreliable, overpriced tech built in 3rd world factories). Why buy ADT when every other competitor doesn't come with all the nonsense?
