We had ADT in Pennsylvania
We had ADT in Pennsylvania, installed it here in Florida to prevent excessive charges. Never moved the account instead started a new contract and made it for 5 years instead of 3. My husband passed away shortly after moving here. I sold the home and new owners were going to use the system, instead adt would not let me prepay the equipment and the new owners were so disgusted that they would not deal with ADT. It took me 2 hours to have ADT let me pay off the contract so I could move. During this new contract we had a fire signal go off. They sent the fire department to my old home in Pennsylvania. They never got the contract straight. Use someone else for service. Now they sent a message to contact them. I had to pay over $2,000 to get out of the contract. Thy gave me a figure over the phone to pay off the contract. Now I have a credit balance they so far have not returned. If they call you RUN!

I installed ADT in my house
I installed ADT in my house, the rep assured me that i can take it anywhere i go in case i move because of the contract. 2 years later i moved to a different place, same thing another rep assured me we were only transferring the contract to the new address. I was very firm with this question because i knew the new address was temporary. After a year, when i called to cancel they said the second time was a brand new contract, i called the rep she said she never said that. I lost my job, end up with very low paying job, i am going thru a very tough time, ADT doesn’t care, they keep calling as if I’m talking to the wall. Really don’t know how to get out of it. I never missed a payment with anyone in my life. Now i don’t know how to deal with this nightmare. To ADT couple of thousand dollars is nothing, to me it’s food on my table.

Bait and switch.
Offered me a plan at 108 for extra equipment as my house is large and 60 a month for service. They came to install and told me it was going to be 4385 more for additional equipment. I was told if I signed right then equipment would be free. This is a bait and switch operation. Do not be fooled. They didnt get my money but wasted about an hour of my time.

Pathetic service
Pathetic service. ADT here in Australia absolutely nothing like the North American counterpart. In Canada, had ADT as home security provider for 10 years and and had absolutely no troubles. System issues were also few and far between. Have had ADT for over 5 years here in Vic, Aus and on average have issues with them every six months. Currently, an issue with battery replacements; paid for all batteries to be changed in home, however less than 9 months later, started getting low battery signals for multiple areas in home. Was told by one ADT supervisor that technician would attend and fix as batteries should last at least two years. One month following servicing, receive an invoice (call out fee, battery charges, replacement charges, etc) for over $250. Continuous harassment from ADT to pay even though supervisor initially stated charges would be waived. They claim batteries “are not considered under warranty”. Rubbish! ADT, you still have to provide products that function to standard. Instead of troubleshooting and reviewing your suppliers of faulty products, you choose to chase down your customers for payment. You’re a “Mickey mouse” outfit ADT Australia. You need a huge overhaul of your practices and treatment of your customers.

Been a loyal customer on all three…
Been a loyal customer on all three homes since 1992. Got swindled by Safe Haven with lies and disrespect. The numerous calls and forced sales options through the incompetent relocation team from "Corporate"! Calls to the ADT team... didn't receive any help at all because we had to sell our home due to job loss. We no longer have a home of our own and our future is uncertain...but let's put you in another 3yr contract anyway! What a discrace! Luckily, after several months we were able to get our contract canceled but still have a hefty balance we are struggling to pay. WE WILL NEVER EVER GET ADT AGAIN...AND SOMEDAY WE WILL HAVE A HOUSE AGAIN. SHAME ON ADT!

Worst service ever
Worst service ever. Signed initial contract for 3 years. Initiated to cancel the service after my contract expired because there are cheaper and better options available in the market. At the time I was paying approx $51 a month (this is without video monitoring). Instead of cancelling my service, I got a call from an ADT rep. who convinced me by slashing the price down to $14.99 (she matched the price of the service I wanted to switch over to). I took the deal. However, after 4 months, I moved to a different state and decided i would go with another company as I wanted to add Video monitoring but ADT video monitoring service is expensive. I called ADT to in December 2020 (same month I moved to my new home) to cancel my service as I've already signed a contract with HomePro (service include video monitoring analytics and much much cheaper than ADT). The rep I spoke with claimed to have initiated my cancellation request. However I was still being billed up until February. I called a second time to initiate another cancellation, the rep I spoke with couldn't give a clear explanation why the first request was not processed. They need to to do better training for their reps. This is very bad for a company of this size. I will NEVER recommend or use ADT.

They have my credit card on file - in spite of me requesting them not to charge to my card every month, they are big company how it matters to them to listen. I can not even login to my account to stop this auto charge. Please beware this is not a costumer friendly company.

SCAM ALERT $27.99 You have to have a Land Line but wont tell you any of this until after they have already done install. Then lock you in contract. Worst experience ever. Wouldn't suggest ADT to my worst enemies. Customer service is terrible and no help.

do not go with ADT
In October of 2020 - I took over the church and changed the name of the church and needed to change payment for ADT We changed name and changed credit card billing. Never was I told we were in contract. In fact I was told we were not under a contract. Never have I received any papers from ADT until this last penalty one. Everything was paid electronically. - They never mentioned a contract. Someone called me days later to confirm the cancelation - never was a contract mentioned. Today I receive a bill for $458 due to early cancelation. This is absurd. I was told we were not in a contract, when I canceled I was never informed we were in a contract or there would be a penalty. Called and ya'll said there was nothing you could do. I am very disappointed with the lack of clear transparency and that will cost the church $458. Not pleased.

ADT Promotion was free installation and and up paying after its installed.
my husband and i purchase the home and the previous owner had a ADT installed in the house.everything is set up and we received a promotion in the mail that free installation so my husband contacted the ADT Costumer service regarding the promotion and clarify if its free so costumer service stating that yes its free installation.so my husband and i agree that we get ADT in the house and now looking back to our bill thiers a charge of $400+ for installation.when the person came to the house to repalce the screen/whatever it called to a updated one.

After spending extras for additional sensors and being a loyal customer twice with ADT I was contacted recently about my selling of my home and told I had signed a 3 year contract. I requested a copy of it and it was signed by a computer and did not have my original signature anywhere. I asked them how they knew I was selling my home and they stated from MLS listings. I said isn’t this a invasion of privacy? I did not agree to a 3 year contract. I don’t know if it is possible or not but I plan on taking them to small claims court. I only owe 4 more months and they still wouldn’t let me out of the contract that I did not sign. I may not can do anything legally but I feel as though they are bigger thieves than the ones I was worried about breaking into my home. I certainly will never do business with them again.

WORST company
WORST company. Do not get ADT. They overcharge for everything they install. In order to have their service you have to sign a contract which you can not get out of. If something happens were you can no longer afford the service or if you move you are screwed and they will not work with you. Luckily when I moved the next resident wanted ADT which should transfer my contract to them. It has been 3 months and I am still calling them trying to get my contract moved. Meanwhile my bill is $800 and they keep saying I dont have to pay it, but then I log in and see I am behind on the payment. Really the worst company!

I only realised today that when my alarm activates ADT use a premium rate phone number, costing me £48 per month extra. I had no idea that was happening. When I challenged them over this, customer services have told me they can change it to a free phone number. As a good will gesture they won't charge me for the change. The customer should be on that number in the first place "what a RIP off" They are robbing their own customers, what a disgrace. I have been getting charged underhandly for years. I thought ADT was a reputable company, it is definitely not. I WOULDN'T ADVISE ANYONE TO USE THIS COMPANY !!!!

Not Secure. Not Reliable. Horrific Service.
**UPDATE** The technician showed up this morning to "reactivate" the service that was mistakenly cut off and refused to perform the work without me signing a new contract. Needless to say I am not signing anything and am now canceling all services with ADT. They have completely wasted my time and haven't provided anything whatsoever. I wish I could give less stars. I have had two systems, one in my main home and one in my guest house. I had serious trouble with the entire system in the guest house consistently not working so I called to cancel that system. The customer service is by far the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever experienced. After over an hour of holding and being transferred repeatedly and being told that the last person was at fault for transferring to the wrong person and having to explain yet again the issue, I finally was "helped" by someone whom I asked specifically to verify which system was being cancelled because I needed to make sure I had protection on my main home. Almost a month later, I noticed that my main home was not on the app, but the one I had cancelled was. I called in again to resolve only to find out that the wrong one had indeed been canceled and I have been without protection this whole time. Not only that, but I am currently on hold with the THIRD person I have been transferred to because I protested at being transferred to a FOURTH person (yet again the person before them is to blame) because I refused to pay a hundred dollars for a RECONNECTION FEE!!! Yes, they want me to actually pay for their error and serious violation of security. After an hour in it is still not resolved. I will definitely be cancelling all services as soon as I have another system lined up. I would only recommend this company if you are looking for ways to waste your time on hold and don't need any of the services that you pay for.

This is the worst company in the world they lie about everything then said they was going to send a gift card I keep calling them then they say my promo I don’t get one they need to be investigated for theft they are terrible and soon as you sign they treat you like your nothing I can’t wait to switch company’s and please do not go to this company they are rip offs

If I could leave a zero for this company I would. ADT is the worst company ever. I have had nothing but problems with this company since 2015. I have had a credit on my account for quite some time and they just flat out refused to give it back or even apply it to my account. So I have finally saved up enough money to cancel this contract. I would never ever use this company again. They could care less about the customer, they toss you from one department to the other. So, BEWARE of ADT they are not worth the money and there are other companies out there much much better.

If I could give 0 stars I would I’ve had this service for years my house has been broken into twice damn system never went off “there was a malfunction” they said. I’ve also tried to cancel several times, first no was because I was locked into a contract. Second No was because somehow my 36 month contract started over an the 34th month for a unknown reason this last time I stayed in the line a hour ARGUING with the rep to cancel services only to still have services. THEY WILL TRY TO TRAP YOU AND LOCK YOU INTO A CONTRAT JUST TO KEEP BUSINESS even if you express how dissatisfied you are with the service

ADT false offers
I used ADT some years ago and cancelled because of faulty alarm reports. Recently, I received a "we-want-you-back Former Customer Offer", promising System Reactivation, $19.95/month for the first 12 months) and a $100 Visa Reward Card. I called and immediately, a service manager arrived to reactivate the existing system. Next thing that happened, none of the promise was kept, I immediately was charged the full $37/month, no $100 Visa card. To call about this situation took me four hours on hold, being transferred from one tel# to another, and after the 3rd # was referred to the 1st # again. Finally, I was able to correspond via email to explain. The $100 visa offer was declined, a $50 discount was offered instead. The online ADT monthly amount did show up as $20.17 but the credit card charge was $37.17. A phone call regarding this difference ended in nowhere after 1/2 hr on hold. Any attempt to contact via email was hopeless. I am very frustrated and want to cancel the service which is nearly impossible because as a customer you are on hold forever. The service itself may be worth it but the charge method is everything else but customer friendly.

I called ADT for a consultation after they reassure me that they would take my equipment, the sale person (expert on ADT) came over and offer me a decent package. On the day of install the technician broke my equipment removing it, did not complete the installed. After me canceling within the three business days, same day of installation, they charge an additional $1,388.18 for equipment, and took almost a month to refunded back after many call to the sale team, customer service and billing.

changed from ADT pulse system & cameras to ADT control because ADT said control was better. ADD Control is the worse camera system ever. Do not waste your money. Cameras are too sensitive. I get a motion notification every time it rains or the wind blows. ADT said lower the sensitive or 4. I lowered it to 2 and i still get notification from 5 cameras every 30 secs. DO NOT BUY! Also ADT cannot figure out the problem.

Rate increase during a contract period
they signed a rate when you buy their service and then keep going up on monthly rate - in my 3 year contract I went from 49 dollar rate to now 64 dollar.

This company used to be just okay. However they have always been terrible with scheduling and with covid it’s beyond bad. The customer service has gone down the drain. I had a scheduled appointment for a back up battery and the guy was over 1 1/2 hours later than my four hour window. Also I have told the company many times I do not want 5 g in my house and when the guy came to service the batteries he was taking a while I asked him why a battery exchange would take so long and he said he was updating my radio to 5 g. Really what no way. I told him to put the old parts back on. Unbelievable. Well that’s not it today I had another appointment to fix something Technition must have broke when he was here the first time. Well no 30 min ahead call and then the manager called to ask where I was. I told him at my office 3 miles down the road I didn’t receive a 30 warning. The scheduler said he’d Wait 15 min. I was home in 10 and dropped everything, no tech was there. According to scheduling they didn’t honor there time frame and the tech left minutes after our call. Now another 45 minutes on the phone to beg them to send someone out. I can’t believe I pay for this service what a joke. They can be 1 1/2 hours late not give me a heads up but leave minutes after promising to wait. So my time doesn’t matter but theirs does. Look at smaller companies unfortunately when they get to big for their own good they do no value their customers. I will be looking elsewhere!!!!!

Giving this a 1 is a stretch
Giving this a 1 is a stretch. I had my alarm system upgraded in Spring of 2020 and my outdoor camera has consistently gone offline since. When I've spoken with a technician, they have told me that I have to climb up on the roof myself, while resetting the wifi. This is not an option. I have been calling the customer service line for the past 3-4 months and can not get through. I sit on hold for up to an hour, the line finally picks up and hangs up on me. I have a system that does not work and am paying monthly for it. I FINALLY managed to get through last week by calling after 9pm. I have had an emergency call-in for work and can not be home when the technician is supposed to arrive. Another hour and a half on hold and two hang-ups and I can not get through. The poor technician is going to arrive to an empty house and there is nothing I can do to stop that. Customer Service since Telus has taken over is non-existent. I should have followed my instincts and cancelled my service last year. UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED!

Goi to Vivint
Goi to Vivint. Plain and simple. This company has taken no accountability for the fact that they installed a camera system that does not function. I had a camera replace in April 2020. Several service calls and visits later it still is not working. They send their techs out with wrong information. Each time someone has come to visit they have the wrong service ticket! Incompetent and untrustworthy. I'll be filing a complaint with BBB as they are aware that this camera is not compatible with the other three cameras that work just fine.
