ADT PLUS Home Security
This has to be one of the worse companies I’ve ever dealt with when dealing with customer service, billing issues, and several other very inconsistent methods of business. I can’t count on my fingers how many times I’ve been transferred to different departments and companies it’s like they have no idea what they’re doing and I will not ever recommend this company to anyone.

Bought ADT medical service for my…
Bought ADT medical service for my parents last year. ADT sent out a bill for a lock box I had already paid for. Correcting this mistake was so painful (phone operators clearly trained to give the customer the run around), I vowed to cancel the service after the year was up. In Dec I cancelled the service and sent back system days later. In January I was sent a bill for another of service. They never sent a letter confirming that they received the physical system. ADT makes it very difficult to cancel orders.

ADT sold me wrong camera and won’t modify the contract
I signed up for new service with ADT. I requested a floodlight camera several times, and was told by both the sales representative and the install technician that they didn’t offer one. So I bought a plain camera. However, 2 days after my system was installed, I found out through a simple google search that they in fact did sell the type of camera I had asked for. I spoke at length with Chavez in the service center, who told me in order to replace the camera, I had to pay a $99 service fee, and pay for the camera in 3 monthly installments. He insisted that the contract could not be modified because the amount was too small, despite being still within the rescission period. And he refused to transfer me to a supervisor. My salesperson and technician have been unresponsive. I want this escalated to someone who can resolve this.

Batteries in sensors installed on…
Batteries in sensors installed on ceiling need to be replaced. I am getting older and just recovered from a fractured metatarsal in my foot. I really do NOT want to be climbing ladders now. The phone support person pretended I did not even say that and just offered to order batteries for ME to do it myself. I would have paid for a tech to come BUT the phone support indicated not only an initial fee to show up but that the rate could rise depending on what is wrong (what is wrong, if they think I can do it myself what is the issue providing an actual charge?) and that every 15 minutes they would add more charges. I have no evidence that their tech might not dawdle and extend the time or be as inept as the phone service was in not listening. Thus how in the world can one agree to a charge which could be anything and no actual cost provided before agreeing. That in addition to the fact that ADT is not a cheap service to begin with and actually charges more in your deal for using an APP? That in itself today is absurd. But the lack of decency in providing actual pricing is not only wrong but completely hypocritical if they think I should do it myself. They know what the job entails if not they cannot do it either. I am thinking of seeking another service. ADT is just not being honest or fair to customers. Taking advantage of people is a poor way to do business and its insulting.

Dreadful Left us without alarm working…
Dreadful Left us without alarm working and promised to come yesterday. Nobody showed no text no call to say why. Appalling service when conract finished will not be renewing it again. For over 430 years was happy and satisfied with ADT now it is simply dreadful PHone staff useless, just passed the buck.

You people are highway robbery. To charge someone 2000 for a modering contract. You people just throw that in there. We are all struggling in this world and you want to pull some bullcrap like this. You are so concerned with our safety? THATS A BIG LAUGH. I will never ever get ADT ever again. I will tell everyone I know what kind of Shady business you people are running. You guys are putting people's lives in jeopardy. For my friends and family that have ADT I will be telling them to cancel ASAP. FOR OTHERS TRYING TO GO GET ADT DONT DO IT.

Terrible Company
After several problems with cameras and power supplies they finally sent out a tech to repair the non viewing issue. The tech repaired the power supply after waiting a long time for the part. However he made no attempt to replace the non working cameras. The system went down again and after spending hours on the phone I'm told that I'm not authorized on the account. I have the password and I set up the account, I'm the only person on the account. Now they want me to prove I own the company. Meanwhile I have to coverage and I have to provide proof of ownership before they will cancel my contract. FU ADT! I'm just cancelling payment thru my credit card company. Bye Bye, never to return

I would prefer no stars. I call because I am locked out of my account. I am not able to reset the password do I call. They verify me, my address, etc.... then when it comes down to resolving they say there is some 6 letter name I need to provide otherwise they can't help me. WHAT!!!! You can send a code to my phone amd email to verify bit you say nope can't help you have to send the word to you via mail. Yup snail mail. The CEO of the company need to get it together. Plus when asking the name amd location of the report, I got Mario and Domincan Republic via Nashville. Could not be more beside myself. Even asked for a tech to come take the garbage system that was not even installed appropriately and that won't happen either. Worst ever custome service and worst 😤 security verification.....snail mail for a security company.

Does anyone here miss Mazen's BS
Does anyone here miss Mazen's BS? I do he was a master of theft and stealing the money out of the Mislead and screwed people that still subscribe to these criminals. PLEASE bring Mazen back as I miss his unique style of BS and thievery. You can all learn a lesson from him. I hope he went on to even bigger thefts within the ADT criminal enterprise.

ADT told me that I Would have all my equipment…
ADT told me that I would have all my equipment after my 5 year commitment. They did not say I would have to keep the monitoring service in order for the equipment to work. It was not fully explained. I was under the impression that the monitoring service was only for use of the burglary alarm or calling the fire department. I did not know I would not have use of my cameras, door charm and my app... So I turn off the monitoring system after my commitment. That's when I found out I needed to keep it on. They made a promise to me For a payment of $995 a month. Because I was in existing customer so I Agreed when the Tech came out to install they tried to charge me the full rate of $65 a month. When I explain I was signed up at $995 he said that did not exist. I got on the phone with the customer Representative and she said the same thing so in other words I was lie to just to Get sign backup. And she said the best she could do was $50 a month. Which I turned down because I shouldn't have never been lied to by one of your representatives. There is no way I would ever use this system or believe anything. They're saying they will do and say anything To get you back in a contract.

Adt wants the customer to pay for upgrades to equipment that was outdated. Poor customer service and repair personnel, equipment stop working but ADT still billed me after I refused to pay turn me into collection agent

Stay Away From This Company
I kept looking for Google reviews on ADT and could not find any. I finally figured out why. Google has partnered with ADT and now provides the nest doorbell cameras which are made by Google. Because I could not find any negative reviews on Google and only reviews saying they were the no. 1 one security company, I made the mistake of going with ADT and had a new system put in 3 weeks ago. It has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the very first call I made to get a price for a system - they lied. I was very specific in telling the ADT Rep how many windows I had, how many doors I had, and how many cameras I would need on the outside of my property. She quoted me a great price and based on her price I went with ADT. An installation appointment was made. The next thing I know, I’m getting a confirmation email that is completely different from the day and time I had set up for the installation.Turns out they arbitrarily changed the day because the day they told me they would do the install was not available. When you call ADT nine out of 10 times you will get somebody from India since they outsource their calls for service. After going back-and-forth trying to get the appointment straight I finally had to go and do it on a different day at a different time. After all that frustration, the technician still shows up earlier than the scheduled time. Then he tells me the price is going to be doubled then what they quoted me on the phone because of how many windows I had. I explained to him I had specifically told the rep on the phone how many windows I had. He said, “yeah, they do that” - in other words bait and switch. So he put my cameras up and my doorbell camera and I told him the doorbell doesn’t ring. He said he’ll fix that before he goes. I asked him for my ADT yard signs and he tells me he doesn’t have any, but he lives right down the road and will drop them off. the installation tech gives me his ADT cell phone number and tells me he lives right down the road and feel free to call him if I need something. Two or three days go by and I still don’t have any yard signs. So I sent him a message asking him when he was going to bring the signs and that my doorbell didn’t ring. He told me he forgot to hook up the sound on the doorbell and he’d been really busy and would drop off my signs. A few more days went by and I still had no signs. I reached out to him again and I called him. He was unresponsive. Never would text me back or call me back. I called to order signs and I got a customer service rep in India or someplace. I explained to her that I needed, signs for the house I was paying to have protected, but did not live in, and all the mail was being forwarded to a PO Box so I need the signs sent to the house where I’m living. She said she could not do that. I told her I did not think the post office would accept signs because they don’t fit in the box. I then asked her did she know if they were even being sent through the USPS or perhaps UPS? She did not know the answer to that either, so I went ahead and said send the signs and we’ll see what happens. Needless to say I never got any signs. I also notice after the installation is completed, one of the cameras which should be videotaping my driveway, is instead watching my neighbors driveway. My driveway is not being monitored at all. So, I call to make an appointment for somebody to come and fix that camera and to give me the signs I never received. After I hung up from making the appointment I looked on my ADT app and I see that they have my address listed in a town where I do not live. I called back to have the address changed since the app will not allow me to change it myself. I spent over 40 minutes on the phone being transferred to different people who did not know how to change my address to the correct address before they finally were able to do it. The day before the service technician was supposed to arrive to fix the camera, my Nest doorbell camera sent a dead battery warning to me and let me know I do not have a doorbell camera any longer. I thought I will have the tech fix that when they come to fix my driveway camera the next day.My appointment time was between 12 and 4 o’clock. I drove to the property and I waited for hours. At 2 PM. I receive a text message telling me the technician is on his way. He does not show up until 3 PM. He tells me the reason my doorbell battery is dead is because I have no power going to the door bell. Now I understood why the installation tech never fixed my doorbell to make it ring. He obviously knew there was an issue and just did not want to deal with it. The doorbell worked fine before ADT showed up to install the Nest camera but now it doesn’t and the tech told me I probably need to go buy a transformer. Then he told me his boss said I would have to pay to have the camera moved because “I already signed a contract”. I’ll be damned if ADT gets another penny out of me. Stay away from these grifters!

It is YOU people that are to blame for letting this company STEAL money from you. IF you have autopay from a bank, CANCEL IT and stop autopay. IF you have a credit card CALL THE CARD COMPANY and BLOCK future autopayments. I know it is a hassle BUT if you do not do these things then DO NOT complain.

Beware! Get everything in writing and take lots of notes. ADT refused to cancel my account even with multiple requests beginning in November of 2022. They were unable to monitor my house for well over a year due to all of the wires being cut during a whole house window replacement beginning the last part of 2022, but they signed me up for a new plan without my knowledge. I requested that my account be closed multiple times through phone conversations, emails, and letters sent to corporate. I took time off from work to have a technician come to my home to pick up materials, but he did not show. Later, I was informed that nobody needed to get anything and that the person who scheduled it was mistaken. I was also told at different points along the way that everything was taken care of, only to discover the next month that I was still being billed. Even though they were no longer able to monitor my home and were asked to terminate services over and over, they continued to call me, billed me each month, threatened to send my information to debt collectors, and to report me to the credit bureau. Over a year later, on January 22, 2024, the balance on my account was finally waived and my association with ADT was finished. It was a long and stressful journey. You might be better off picking another service, or even monitoring your own home. It takes a really long time for the police to show up anyway when your alarm goes off with ADT.

Its just a horrible system
Its just a horrible system, support is terrible, lack of accessories to complete the alarm system/experience to protect the home properly/fully (water leak detection, glass breakage etc...) The Smart hub is very basic, does not even light up at night, you have to turn the lights on in your house or get a flashlight in order for you to see the keypad to turn things on and off at night when you get home. Support told me to just get a smart phone so that you can see it in the dark.The power cable is not secured to the Hub, it comes right out if you pull the power cable a little too hard by just moving the hub from one location to another. Google Nest camera support is lack luster, integration is horrible. They told me to not use their ADT + app for the cameras but to use the google home app after they told me that Google and ADT are fully supported/integrated together. I can go on and on about the lack of features and support. If you are looking for a smart alarm system for self setup, there are many alarm systems out there that are far superior than the ADT self setup alarm.

we’ve had ADT for 15 years
we’ve had ADT for 15 years. I’ve never been impressed with their customer service. One time, for a reason that was never determined, our alarm system went off in full panic mode, and it would not stop for two hours. We called, we went online, we did everything we could but we had to listen to the screeching siren for two hours. It would not shut off. the system simply had a mind of its own. So there was that. I wanted to change to a different security system at that time. Unfortunately, we did not. Recently, my fob acted up. The de-arm system would activate the panic alarm. This happened several times. I called for a replacement fob. I got the fob and scheduled an appointment , however, the girl was not able to program the de-arm button. She said she would send out a new fob. I waited a week and there was no fob. I called them, it had never been sent. They sent me the new fob which I received today. They said I could call and they would set it up. However, when I called, I was told I needed an appointment. I told her I already had appointment for three days from now and when she looked on my account she said there was no appointment scheduled. I can’t wait to find a better security system provider. Oh, the first time the woman tried to set up my new fob I could barely hear her, and she sounded really angry and impatient. In addition, every time I call, I get somebody who has such a strong Filipino or Mexican accent that I have trouble understanding what they are saying it’s really a problem.

ADT nonresponsive to detective doorbell and missing parts
On January 15, 2024, an ADT tech installed a new google nest doorbell, that had a defective battery and missing parts. The tech was professional but neglected to inform me how the battery works, when to charge it, and how long charge lasts. He also neglected to provide the charging cable and release key were part of the package. The battery went dead after about 6 hours after installation. I had to borrow a charging cable and educate myself on how the doorbell works and how to detach it for charging and then rewire it. After charging it, it still won’t hold a charge. The next day I called ADT at least 10 times, in attempts to have situation satisfactorily rectified without additional cost to me. No luck, though I did speak with four different departments, suffered numerous dropped calls, spoke to several reps in the Philippines, etc. Also am getting charged more for installation and monthly than I was quoted so I put a hold on ADT payments. Shame on you ADT. An easy fix for you, no need to give long term customers the runaround.

Never get ADT!!!
When I signed up I was assured that I could cancel in the first 6 months of service. Within a week of having the system installed my fire alarm started going off constantly. The fire department came out 3 times in one week for no reason. Every time adt calls me the line is so garbled that they don’t get my code and send the fire department. The first thing the firefighters asked me is if I had ADT because it’s a constant issue with them. I spoke with numerous people at adt and they were no help in figuring out how to keep the alarm from going off so I ended up just turning the whole system off for a week. During that week I had a break in, thankfully my dog scared them off but it was terrifying. I called to cancel my service and was told that I would have to pay the full price of the 3 year contract. They finally sent someone out and he did manage to fix the issue with the fire alarm, at least temporarily. However, despite being assured that my animals would not set off the motion detector my alarm was going off multiple times a day. I used a different setting to avoid triggering the motion detector but that meant that if a door was opened the alarm immediately goes off. This became an issue because when ever I would come home I would turn my alarm off with my phone app,it would say it was disarmed, but when I opened the door it would go off. My poor dogs were terrified every time I went to open a door and would hide, or one of the dogs started to blame the other and would attack it. I again tried to cancel and deal with customer service to get it fixed with no luck. Finally I just turned it off for the last two years but have still had to pay. A couple months ago I had missed call from adt with a garbled message where the only words I could hear was fire alarm going off. I was at work. Tried calling back, no answer. Called 911 to see if a truck had been dispatched, it hadn’t. I was absolutely terrified thinking my house was on fire with my animals stuck inside and I was 30 mins away. Thankfully there was no fire and the reason they called was because my batteries were low in the smoke detector. I guess sending a notification through the app or the fact that the alarm is chirping wasn’t good enough they have to scare the crap out of me by telling me the fire alarm was going off. That was the final straw I stopped paying because I can not afford service that doesn’t work and creates far more problems then it solves. My fire alarm have also gone off twice since then for no reason😡

I have moved twice - Nightmare both times
I have moved twice, being locked into the ADT contract. The first time, they double billed me for the new and the old property for months. It took hours on the phone with them, being transferred back and forth many times and speaking with local reps and outsourced staff. I FINALLY got my first refund after about 6 months of moving. I had to move again. Same thing. Double billing for both new and old properties. I'm up to about 4 recorded hours on the phone with ADT: transfer department, billing department, accounting department, back to transfer department, back and forth and back and forth again "Yes, we took care of it. You should be receiving your refund soon. " "When" I asked? "Call back at such and such a date." Called back, they had no idea what I was talking about. Got bounced from department to department all over again. They took 4 payments for my former residence after I moved, with no refund even though it was promised. So I had my bank reverse the charges. I have since gotten several calls since telling me I owe them money (for a property that is no longer mine). The next call I will consider harassment and will start a small claims in court to sue for my time, inconvenience (the money they took was needed for groceries) and to get out of the contract. It's hard to believe that such a big and well-known company can't handle simple processes. It's been hard to believe how inept the corporate infrastructure is. AVOID!!!!

I have never dealt with a bad company like this one I do not recommend it to anyone. I wasted all my day didn't even go to work because they told me there are coming just to find out they didn't know what they are talking about and never show up and agan. it is bad company. I will never, ever do business with them again or recommend them to anybody else.

Paying more for less service
Paying more for less service. Can’t get a service tech to come out. Was told ADT doesn’t do that anymore. I was paying extra for tech calls, etc. was told today that they quit this years ago. No one told me this before. I’m paying for secrets that no one shares. I’ll be searching other companies starting tomorrow. Avoid ADT folks.

ADT is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE‼️and here’s why: -Very BAD customer service -EXTREMELY LONG wait times (greater than 1.5 hours) to have concerns & issues resolved if at all -malfunctioning equipment even AFTER receiving new equipment shipped out to you -improperly trained phone techs -alarm goes off for no reason especially when away from your home -police show up in the middle of the night and ADT had NO idea the alarm went off -equipment failure to work for greater than ~2-3 weeks -no evidence of equipment return even after being mailed by fedex with an ADT label -workers quitting because they’re tired of receiving negative customer complaints about ADT and the staff stating, “ADT doesnt care about how customers are treated….cant take it anymore” -assigning additional charges to your account (almost $400) because you move but NO one ever comes out to your home for the installation NOR was the amount discussed with the client -failure to document cancellation of services -failure to make things right and actually make the customer feel appreciated -WHAT A DIS SERVICE ADT supplies….OMG!!!!! RUN and sign up with a great reputable security alarm company!!!! I should’ve CANCELED my service with them the following day of receiving my equipment!!!! WHATA HUGE MISTAKE!!! RUN!!!!!! This has been NIGHTMARE of a contract for 2years😩😵‍💫
