I open my account 3 years ago and when it comes to customer service it suffers badly. My business close down because COVID and simply wanted to cancel our service, but in no way were they going to do that. In one call alone I was transferred 3 times. That last was an experience I never want have again. In the second call I was transferred immediately and waited eternally and after 3 years I realice the open 2 accounts for me in the same address! Crazy and no one can help me so they ask me for 1255. 00 to cancel my extra account like 2 electrical account in the same address and they never tell me nothing. Never again will I ever use ADT as my security provider. Again. In the second call I was transferred immediately and waited eternally before hanging up. Never again will I ever use ADT as my security provider.

Choose a different security company
After being a loyal customer for over three years, I found it nearly impossible to cancel my account… I was considering stopping my service briefly and restarting it up in the future. I will no longer consider this as an option, after I was kept on hold for over two hours today and transferred at least six times to different people who all couldn’t help me cancel my account. This is a transparent attempt to fatigue people off of the phone lines, and it’s a very shortsighted way to do business. If ADT was an upfront company, they would make it simple and easy for you to cancel your account online, Just like any other Company with an online platform in the 21st-century. They lock you into ridiculous contracts and the one and only time I needed it, the alarm did not ring through to the police as promised. Don’t know how they have managed to keep reviews off of google search but that’s a clear sign.

OMG WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!
OMG. I REGRET THE DAY I SIGNED UP FOR THIS SO-CALLED SERVICE. I got locked in to a 2-year contract, and I never could get the doorbell camera to work!!!!! I eventually had to disable the system, because their customer support was so useless!!!!!! Now, I'm attempting to cancel my service, now that they have my payments for 2 years, and trying to get a customer service agent is a nightmare. Been on hold for over an hour. They just invite me to call back, but won't tell me what time of day is less busy. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Protecting yourself against FRAUD!!! Or should you say protect yourself against ADT! It was not enough that they charge $700 for transferring services, they also keep charging your for a residence you no longer own, talk about being ripped off!

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever
I called yesterday to cancel my service due to moving. This was the worst customer service experience EVER! I was on the phone for 2.5 hours, spoke with 8 different agents, and the call was disconnected twice. After the second disconnected call, my wife and I simultaneously called with the hope that one of us would be successful. After 4 different agents, she finally succeeded in speaking to someone who was able to cancel our service. However, based on the other reviews I've seen here, I'm sure they I'll have to follow up again, After this customer service experience, I will never use ADT again! I suggest you avoid them as well.

ADT BITES
Been on the phone for nearly 2 hours between on hold and talking with a guy that could not speak or understand English. Trying to test my alarm to ensure all stations worked properly before we left on an out of state trip. I AM NOT CONFIDENT this system works at all. I have been with ADT for 16 years and I will be finding another home alarm company. This is pathetic!!! A US company with other than English speaking & understanding Customer Service. Plus a company that is crucial to the safety of its customers and Americans. This is pitiful. This guy didn’t have a clue to what he was doing. And forget it if you wanted to speak to a supervisor. Oddly enough their supervisor will always call you back. NOT!!! After numerous requests have I ever received a return call. NEVER!!!!!! The poorest excuse of and alarm company anywhere. Do not use
Do not use. Have been an ADT customer for over 20 years at various houses. We installed a new system in our current house at a cost of 1800.00. That was 5 years ago. Our house has sold, we canceled service and got a bill for over 700 dollars. The website clearly states after the initial 3 year contract, they continue on month to month. Obviously, this is not true. Do not use. Plenty other security systems around

Just burn a pile of money, same result, less frustration
System never installed correctly - goes off at 3 am for no reason, automated call EVERY DAY for months to reset alarm - which we have done using youtube videos, cannot make the calls stop. the only thing ADT managed to do correctly, was set up their billing. have called customer service - literally someone with roosters in the background with an indian accent who kept telling us to call back some other time when call volumes are not so high - like 1. i would know when that is and 2. want to play this game with a vendor who can't be bothered to do the job right. It seems to me this is a deliberate move to frustrate you so you never get a working system, but they still keep billing you. put a stop payment on ADT through my bank, no other option to get rid of them.

I give them zero stars
I give them zero stars. The customer service sucks from beginning to the end. I called about getting the wrong equipment that I was promised from day one. And instead, I get put on hold for a long wait. Then when you finally get someone on the phone the call mysteriously drops. I terribly regret the choice of choosing them for my security needs. They're a complete joke.

If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. Signed up with ADT and even added cameras (not cheap). Every time it rains the cameras go down, even though they are on battery backup. Can't get to anyone in support (on the phone) without waiting a minimum of 25+ minutes. Having a huge issue as I write this, our alarm hasn't been able to be armed in 4 days, I was on hold for 31 minutes, spent 4 minutes trying to describe issue to a non English speaking call center and now on hold again while they look it up in a book of what to say to the customer?? My call at this point is over 52 minutes long....DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

Do not go with ADT
Do not go with ADT, you can not get service, you can not contact the local branch. I paid for my service and they did not apply it to the correct account. They are sending late notices and threating letters. I have sent them proof of payment 7 times and they are unable to fix the issue. Do not Go with ATD again poor service and impersonal communication. I would give them a zero if I could.

Our absolute horrible experience with…
Our absolute horrible experience with ADT! We moved to a new house, was told leave everything with that house and we'll install new ones at the new house! Things quickly went down hill from there! Wanted to charge us 900! Then the they told they'd roll it into our monthly bill for 3 months be charged with it. Our bill after was only supposed to be x. Then come August were double charged, and told polar opposite of what we were told 6 weeks ago! We've been charged almost $1000! For this all of this the past 2 months! Talked to AJ on customer service was not helpful what so ever. Then got a call from them, hung up on, twice! Ridiculous of this company now I see why they only have 1.3 of a stars!

Used service for 1 year and they charged me $600 to cancel. They didn’t inform me this would happen and I was told I can cancel at anytime. Nobody that I spoke with was able to help resolve this.

ADT used to be good, not any more
My family and myself have been customers of ADT for decades. We had ADT installed 6 years ago in our new home and initially no problems. About 4 years in we started to have sensor batteries die and thats when the issues started. The system has no way to warn you that a battery is low other than beeping which inevitably happens at 3am and when the battery dies if the system is armed the alarm will trigger. The sensors we have are very fragile plastic and prone to breaking even when handled properly to open them. So several sensor covers have broken during battery replacement. Tonight a sensor cover popped off on its own, the small plastic retention hooks just failed. Worse, about a month or so ago we had a visit from the police at 1:30am after a sensor failed in the middle of the night, but the panel failed to provide the audible alarm. So lucky for us it was not a breakin and just equipment failure. However the pain in trying to contact ADT to try to address the issue and then the resolution was unacceptable. Multiple attempts to contact ADT service took over a day as wait times were ridiculous. Finally got a contractor tech out and he replaced the sensor with a next gen one, but was not authorized to replace the panel. He said sales would contact me given the nature of the problem, but no one has called me. So I tried calling twice this week and hit the wait queue twice trying to get through to them and gave up. So tomorrow I will try to call sales and demand the panel be updated and all sensors be replaced or I am done with ADT. Simplisafe seems to finally have enough functionality to match ADT with easier equipment to maintain for about $500 and lower monitoring fee and no 3 yr contract BS.

If I can leave -5 (minus) stars I will, I had a contract with them, then I sold my apartment and they told me to avoid the cancellation fee is better to go with Blue By ADT for my rental, that what I did, after calling 10000 times to make sure everything is good and they confirmed it. A year later I am receiving calls and mails from these companies that collect payments saying that I have a balance with ADT and I have to pay it if I don’t want get in trouble!!!!! I called a10000000 times giving them my client number with Blue By ADT, the date of activation of the new service but nothing, I am still receiving mails from asking for payment. The worst company on this planet, the worst service and don’t control with them!!!

After 5 years using them, all was well with customer service UNTIL I tried to cancel because I was moving... I ran a gauntlet of people and levels, over 3 days of phone calls, as they tried to 'save' me from cancelling. Then finally the 7th person I talked to agreed to cancel me. 30 days later I still got another bill and started all over again, as I figured out she was lying about cancelling me because she didn't want the bad mark on her record. So I paid again and yelled until I was cancelled 60 days after I started the 'break up.' This is just an old School slimy call center.

This is the worst company ever
This is the worst company ever. There is no customer support. I have spent 15 hours over the past 3 days trying to talk to someone and no one wants to help. They just keep transferring you endlessly. When I moved, they would not let me out of my contract. Instead, they allowed me to move the contract to the next address. I was fine with that. They then proceeded to double charge me for two residences! They didn't delete the old address and then argued that they wouldn't refund and there is no one that will even help refund the double charge. Now they want to charge a cancellation fee. Please make sure you have everything in writing before you agree to anything! I do not recommend you use this company! BTW, they did reply below so it looks good, but did nothing afterwards.

Horrible Company
ADT was so horrible that we just paid over 3k to get out of our contract. This is the most unethical and misleading company I have ever seen. Please stay away. The cameras and the door bell never worked from the beginning and we were still being charged full price. When I asked to cancel they would give me the run around and promised to let me out. After I hit the 6 month mark the manager we were working with quit answering our calls and we were told if we wanted out we would have to pay full price. So we dis just to get away without negative marks on our credit.

I give ADT zero for customer support
I give ADT zero for customer support. We have two pieces of equipment that is defective and they will not replace even though we are still paying for it and under warranty. Over a month of long holding time on phone to speak to someone. Chat and they end with call tech support.

MORE LIES, FOB OFFS AND INCOMPETENCE FROM ADT CUSTOMER SERVICES
Filed original request for repair to non functioning alarm on Monday August 8th [ see previous review]. On August 9th was told I could fix the system myself and I would be sent a battery. Informed the customer "dis-service" phone person that I am nearly 70 years of age. Do not posses a step ladder, even if I could use one safely. Do not possess any tools and have no idea how to remove and open the sensor. Was told that she would immediately contact the dispatcher who would call be back later. The very same dispatcher - Lauren - who had spoken to me the previous day and promised to contact me but never did. I have now simply given up as the futility of listening to the same old lies and rubbish from customer "dis-service at ADT is impacting on my will to live. On Monday 15th August I received a battery from ADT. I began to wonder if I had failed to communicate clearly to ADT when I informed customer services that I was not able to undertake a repair to their alarm system myself. I am a retired headteacher and school inspector so I contacted some former colleagues and asked them to listen to a repeat of the conversation I had had with ADT . Their task was to determine whether or not it was simple to understand what I was saying. They confirmed that I have full cognitive abilities and am able to communicate verbally to an acceptable level. A level, they confirmed, that an average 5 year old child could comprehend. ADT is very good at responding to these reviews with an auto generated reply that asks for the complainant to get in touch via email. Such a response is, in my opinion, the action of an uncaring, uninterested and shabby organisation. An organisation that looks like it cares but in reality does not. ADT you have my name so look up your call logs. Remember all calls are recorded for monitoring and training purposes. You have the times and dates so what is stopping you? I WOULD STRONGLY AND WHOLE HEARTEDLY ADVISE ANY BODY CONSIDERING ADT AS A PROVIDER OF THEIR HOUSEHOLD SECURITY TO FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER. I HAVE ONLY GIVEN ONE STAR AS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GIVE A MORE ACCURATE RATING.

ADT is a criminal enterprise and has/is perpetuating FRAUD on its Clients/Customers on a continuing basis with willful and intentional malice and extreme prejudice. Referencing the plethora of comments below on this platform it remains clear and obvious that this venue goes beyond simple negligence and is actively engaging in continuing fraudulent activities. By actively conspiring in and under breach of contracted services, this entity is open and libel under class action suit and status. It has opened itself to several counts including, but not limited to, tort damages to its clients and customers, and moreover, has further opened itself to several additional counts of treble damages owed to its customers who, by signing a legal contract, were blatantly and intentionally defrauded of the technology and/or services listed. It remains clear that the continuing technology failures compounded with a lack of due maintenance is and was a maliciously act. There is a common thread here that identifies a willful implied intention, that being to steal money and services from all its customer base. Further, this appears to be a prima facie willful act. Additionally, they further mock the customers who write these reviews with their comic feedback with a common, "Oh no", or "we are terrible sorry" boilerplate BS. It would be humorous if it was not criminal. In response I remain committed and ready to provide a legal brief containing appropriate terms of art to address the issues identified by the herein listed comments on this platform. If you become ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY & cancel you will be charged !!!!
They charge you for cancelling for ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY LEAVE even they they say they don’t. Now I have to engage a lawyer, send demand letters for all recoded calls and argue over the phone with a representative that tells me “ I have no grounds,” (as if he is a judge and can determine that)- idiot. My son sold his home due to a 4 year military commitment, they will not waive the $653 cancellation fee. This is wrong on so many levels. Not to mention … I transferred the freaking service to a lake house of ours to avoid the cancellation fee. They are still getting our money. This company has no morals. ADT does not know “the right thing to do” and lies to get service “transferred”- when it’s just a new service and new commitment. How can I trust them to be there in a emergency when they 1) don’t have equal and fair pricing ( I have 3 homes .. and the cost varied considerably and was more expensive in my homes located in lower income areas). 2) they do not honor military deployment cancellations - even thought they are supposed to 3) I was told if I transferred my service to my other home there would not be a disconnection fee. They care about your money… not your safely and security
