I regretted signing up for a contract…
I regretted signing up for a contract with ADT. Worst and oldest equipment, exorbitant fees, strings attached (3 years of service). I am pretty confident once most of the contracts will expire, it will be big trouble for ADT since competitors are far better.
Unfortunately, I didn't do my due diligence before choosing ADT.

ADT in opinion is disreputable and should be avoided at ALL costs. They will harass you for payment and contract signing even when you have cancelled monitoring service. Phone wait times are one hour or more and will not cancel the charges even after you have attempted to cancel. I have filed a BBB complaint.

Very frustrated customer
What a joke!!!! I was advised to write to an email address which I did. It seems that it was a US arm of ADT that doesn't have any links with ADT UK. Honestly, this just goes from bad to worse!!!!!!! This was what I wrote and nothing has changed! ..................This review is for ADT Customer Care. Having failed to get any help for our somewhat erratic CCTV installation I turned to the review route to get a response. I did on 12th July explaining that our issues would be escalated for action. It is now 17th August and we've had not so much as a phone call! As our alarm has worked well, I presumed the CCTV would be the same but I was wrong! I wish I'd accepted the local, smaller company quotation because I would have been more able to access them. When customer care tell you they'll follow up on something as important as security, you expect it to happen but for us, I think it was just a way to offset the negative review but stupidly I thought it would result in some remedial action.
Not worth a penny. Let’s sue ADT collectivly
I have a money transfer business in Newark, CA (Lana Express) and I manage a lot of cash. In this type of business there are not insurances to cover any loss of cash which is understandable. I contracted the services of ADT (thinking it was the best alarm system), I signed the contract, they sent a technician to do the installation and took my bank information to take my monthly payments. The contract says that they would call the police department and of course the alarm would make a loud sound to scare away any intruders. On July of 2022, two individuals broke into my business and brought an electric saw you cut through the metal door. When they broke the front door and ente, the alarm never went off. Then they spent around 3-5 minutes trying to cut through the metal door but for some reason they leave. After 20 minutes these individuals came back and try for another minute or so until they are able to break in. I had cash on the safe (20k) and sadly they found the key and took the money. When they turn around to check what else to take, the restroom’s light turns on and then the alarm goes off so they leave. ADT never called me or the police department. One thing to mention is that the police department is at less than a minute away from my business. A policeman calls me until 9:00 am to let me know what happened. I called ADT on the day of the break in and all they say is “I’m sorry” and ignore everything about the incident. I called again and requested a technician to come in and check everything out, the technician told me that the ADT technician who made all the installation DID NOT made the last step to make the connection to communicate between my business and the police department. I contacted the BBB without any luck so far. I know that no lawyer will take my case BUT talking to my business neighbors who have been victims of theft, they all have ADT and they all had similar problems. ADT either calls the wrong police department or alarm doesn’t go off. It is devastating and sad how corporations only care for our money and in this case don’t give a damn about security. I know they will give me the hypocritical answer of “we’re sorry” “we apologize” “oh no!” But what’s that going to give me? I'll take other actions. Collectively we can be heard!
Look Elsewhere for Home Security if you Can
I was attempting to set up a 2nd site for protection with ADT since we use them for our primary home due to its location. Unfortunately, ADT customer service is very unhelpful. They are unable to provide any information regarding costs of their products before taking all of your information, including social security number, and running a credit check. They get two stars on this review as the website is helpful. I was eventually able to find pricing on the website. They are expensive without superior products.

If I could give zero stars I would. Not only are they the most expensive on the market, their Customer Service # is horrendous!! Not only are you on hold forever they don't listen to you and transfer you all over the place, average call for anything is over 30 minutes, with at least 4 transfers.
If that was the only problem I would probably even deal with it but my system hasn't worked in over 6 months. I've had them out almost every week all summer and after 7 visits they still can't fix it and to get it to stop from beeping. I paid $70 for service call and close to $60 a month for 6 months, all while my system wasn't even working or able to alarm for last 6 months. This company is just a train wreck and brutal to deal with...

If I could give 0 stars, I would. In July I added 2 outdoor cameras and 4 door sensors. I paid in full and a service appointment was scheduled for that Monday. I took the day off from work only to receive a call at 11:50am (I had the 8am - noon block scheduled). My appointment was cancelled. When asked why I wasn't notified earlier, the rep told me "I don't work Sundays" and hung up. I called back and waited on hold for close to an hour. A second appointment was scheduled and once again, I took a day off. I scheduled the 8am - noon block, but when I called to confirm my appointment, I was told it would be in the afternoon. Hey, they are coming, right? Well, once again I received a phone call on the day of the appointment being told that once again, my appointment was cancelled. I was told ADT called me on Saturday at 4:30pm and I did not pick up. I explained to the rep that I was at my son's wedding and did not have access to my phone. I asked why there was no voice mail left and her response was "oh well, we called". I now have a third appointment scheduled and will need to take another day off. I decided to call Customer Service to voice my concerns. The first time, I was on hold for 53 minutes only to be disconnected. The second call took over 45 minutes, first you have to go to a transfer center and then you wait again for customer service. I finally reached a person. The rep I spoke to was very kind and offered to credit my account $68. Three days off from work and hours on the phone equates to $68? The rep agreed and added another window sensor at no extra charge. He is just doing his job and I give him credit for listening to my complaints without hanging up.
I have been a customer for over 20 years and have never experienced such poor customer service. Actually, poor is being kind. I am not sure what is going on with ADT, but I am totally disgusted.
I think it might be time to start looking for another alarm company. Anyone want in on the office pool to see if ADT will actually come out this time?
**update** ADT did show up on the 3rd scheduled appointment. There was some confusion as the tech showed we still owed for the products and had to make a call to insure that we did in fact pay in full at the time of order. He also needed to confirm that the extra window sensor was free. He said it is policy to collect 20% from the customer. Money issues were cleaned up and the installation began. It took a lot longer than expected due to 1 outside camera not working. Rescheduling a 4th time was not an option. The tech was able to locate another camera, but had to drive to pick it up. The installation is complete, but I still stand by my original post. 0 stars
Bad customer service.
This is my second time coming back to ADT. The reason I coming back because you are the only alarm company actually give me a good price. But we already starting on the wrong foot. I had appointment for Saturday between 1-5 so I requested if the technician can come between 4:00-4:30. So I waited all day to get a call or text confirming my appointment. So nobody reached out to me so I had to call to see what was going on. Apparently there was a clinch in the system. So I was like okay fine reschedule for Tuesday. So I asked them to give me the same time and call me 30 min before arriving also if the technician can arrive between 4:00-4:30. So customer service said they can put it in the notes but it’s up to the technician if there available that time. My point is I used to work as a technician so I knew how to work around the new or old customers schedule because there business was very important for the company. So apparently for ADT is not important.
Buyer beware, bad service with unprofessional help
Buyer beware. The system worked good for a time and then stopped working. It was blamed on poor WiFi signal (their free extender wouldnt work), it was blamed on to many objects (set it to specific objects, still recorded everything), recored 24 hrs a day even though the time frame was from 8pm to 730am the nesxt morning, was told the online help screwed up the camera settings by the technichian who had to replace the camrea, it would then rtandomaly record at different times but would not record ANYONE walking up the drive way. If I could, I would not leave a star! Customewr service was bad as they kept us on hold (10 to 20 minutes at a time and multiple time during a call) while trying to figure out what was wrong, got different answers each time we called as to what the problem was and when we went to cancel, the service manager was extrtemly rude and very unprofessional. This was a very disappointing experience from a company that used to be good. Will never use them again and will tell everyone not to use them.

If I could give zero stars to ADT- I would. The salesman that came to my house kept making mistakes and kept changing the contract and hens changed my original contract from two years to five years. They’ve been overcharging me and I’ve been calling since day one after the salesman left that the contract was not correct. They said that I could not cancel it because now I’m in a five-year contract even though I thought I was in a two year contract. Who sees the fine print of the term of the contract because the salesman changed it five times. Now they’re charging me over $4000 if I were to cancel the contract. I’ve called them numerous times and stayed on the phone arguing with them days on end. Do yourself a favor and stay away from ADT. They’re unscrupulous Cheaters. They are the worst of the worst. There should be a class action lawsuit against ADT- if people would just come together And bring up as to how ADT- cheated them.Stick with simplysafe. Peter Alfini was the ADT- sales rep who cheated me. He never returned any of my phone calls.

Salesman Daniel Myrick says there’s nothing he can do. And, yes, I did call the tech support. That was the best they could do—almost a month away. Don’t buy ADT. Again, don’t buy ADT.
Worst customer service in the history…
Worst customer service in the history of customer service. I’ve waited on hold with them for about 35 min then a rep got on the phone and disconnected the call. I haven’t spoken to anyone about the issue I’ve had for months now and no one seem to be able to know how to help me. They have been getting their money on time every month but seem to not have anyone to help their customers!!!! Worst company I’ve ever encountered!
Do not use them at all
If it will let me write a review without any stars I would. They don’t even deserve one star. We sold our house and I called and canceled our security services one week before we sold the property, that was at the beginning of last month. They said cancellation wouldn’t take effect for 30 days. Well we noticed yesterday the system was still active. So I called and was told they did took notes of the cancellation last month but wasn’t process but they were going to take care yesterday, well they didn’t and not only that we got charge again on our account today. Nobody seemed to care for the customers and they are too lazy to even process a cancellation properly I just imagined what would happened if an emergency happened all those years we had them. Please read this review future customers. There are other companies way much better and cheaper too.

ADT is good at one thing and it's lying! The sales rep sold me all of this stuff for my office and makes all types of promises just to get the sale.
Horrible service, overpriced and they do not follow through with what they say.
ADT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE.
Monday Aug 8th at 09.00 requested engineer visit as alarm could not be set due to sensor fault. Told I would be contacted within hour. 13.00 hrs progressed chase to be told that the engineer had refused to accept the call as he was already too busy. Complained that ADT should have contacted me to tell me that. Asked when I could expect a engineer. Was told that they could not say. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Told no one available. Registered formal complaint and told someone would contact me later.
August 9th at 09.00 called ADT to progress chase. Had to repeat in detail the reason for the call. Told that there were no engineers available. Was offered technical assistance to disable faulty sensor. Refused. Raised issue about complaint was told that someone would contact me within 48 hrs. Replied that I was told to expect a call shortly ( Ref Monday 13.00 call). Told that this was incorrect information. Inquired who was actually telling the truth. Told that the procedure is a call back within 48 hrs. Conclusion fobbed off by Monday's ADT representative.
Lauren from ADT dispatch called at 13.00 hrs. The fault had been reported to her as a low battery reading. Suggested she look at the call logs where I clearly stated that the fault was such that the alarm could not be set. She informed me that such instances were prioritised and she would attempt to allocate an engineer from another area. Also said that I could have a fixed time appointment for Friday 12th but if I accepted that then all other call outs would be cancelled. Opted for the call out where I was lead to believe that I would get a call back later in the afternoon but that failed to happen.
August 10th progress chased at 13.25 hours. Had to repeat again in detail the reason for the call. Was placed on hold for 19 minutes whist the ADT representative went to talk to the planning team. Again offered technical support to disable faulty sensor. Refused. It was then suggested that they could post me a battery for the sensor and I could do the repair myself. Refused. Told that the dispatcher would contact me to see if the timed repair for Friday was still available. It is now 19.00 and no call received.
I have been fobbed off and mislead (lied to) continually since Monday morning. I pay £45 a month for a service plan. The routine bi-annual service was missed in the first part of 2022. Had this been undertaken this issue would not have arisen. Clearly this company cannot fulfill its contractual obligations due to a shortage of engineers. A fact that I became aware of some time ago whist in conversation with a former employee of the company. I thought about cancelling my contact then. This week I really wish that I had.

Horrible customer services cant get anyone on the phone. Camera are jacked up cant get a service tech out. Or even ahold of customer service rep.
Awful company to do business with
Awful company to do business with. We had a commerical account, and sold one of the buildings and tried to cancel service on it, which became a nightmare. We were paying on the other building, but they couldn't seem to separate, so a tech comes out and disconnects the service in the building we still owned. Then I get a demand letter from ADT. I called in and spoke to a representative, confirmed the service had been disconnected and asked if I paid the balance on the letter, if that would settle the account. They said it would, so I paid it.
4 months later, I get another demand from ADT saying I owe them more money. I sent them the documentation I had and stated what the customer service rep said about the paying that balance would settle the account, and they continue to harrass me.
They didn't even have our alarm set up right. One of our people was set up as the distress code, so everytime he disarmed the alarm, the police showed up. It took another alarm company to figure that out.
And we paid for all our equipment upfront.

ADT camera in my drive way is a piece of crab. It only takes clip 1% of the time. Big mistake I renewed my contract for another year. I will cancel camera or the whole system when contract is completed. I will tell my friends and family to cancel as well. ADT customers service are very bad as well. They do not know anything.

Only interested in taking your money. Awful service for a premium price. They switch sensors off on your system but then do not send out staff to fix issues but they send parts to you to fix yourself. Previously had about 6 non attendance from engineers, 6 months ago, now I have issues again the problem has started all over again. Multiple sensors switched off at their end so house isn’t protected yet cannot get them out to rectify issues. DO NOT USE, they were good a few years ago but I am now looking to find a new monitoring company after 6yrs

I'm a small business owner ,I was approached by an ADT customer service agent for the security of my store , I was really happy about it . The technician shows up couple days and installed the service. The day after installation the sensor was on the floor, the camera recoing wasn't working . An incident happened at my store , I called ADT I was bounce from on department to an other waiting almost 2h30 over the phone. I'm very disappointed 😞
