Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service, pulled an unauthorized amount out of my bank account “by accident”, and then not willing to refund the money! What the hell is wrong with this company!

Not able to operate in a timely manner.
Signed a contract 12/8, installers came out on 1/11 for 7 hours when told would take no more than 4 and still not finished. Next appointment not until 2/22 and just got broken into again. Guess they're too busy signing contracts to install. Update: I have been contacted by ADT today 2/3 by phone and they assure me they will be out on 2/10 to complete the install. Very quick response.

Avoid ADT had them for 10 years there billing practices became erratic.I tried several times to straight out issues with no resolve. I lost count on how many reps I spoke with each time thinking issue is fixed only to have a reoccurrence . When you try to cancel the real nightmare begins you can’t verbally cancel over the phone they never receive notification and keep billing you. Good luck trying to speak with a supervisor they send you to a dead end call when you call back wait another 20 minutes on the phone for same results. They have turned 10 years of loyalty into my new mission bash this company every chance I get. Working in law enforcement I will make sure to advise people to avoid this company at all cost. Go with ring better system and better customer service

HORRIBLE customer service
HORRIBLE customer service. used them for 7 7ears as we were locked in w a contract. sit on phone for hours to talk w someone. terrible service trying to cancel. staff says incorrect information and states there is no manager available to talk to.Way over priced. Using Simply Safe next.

The absolute worst security service…
The absolute worst security service I've dealt with. I cancelled my contract and while waiting for the final bill, the ADT installer/dealer (Safe Haven Security inc.) sent me to collections. No bill, no email, no phone call, just immediately sent me to collections. This is a vindictive company. STAY CLEAR of these two company's.

This the worst security company. I signed up with ADT in April 2019, when purchased my home. some "bugs" had to be worked out with it. So I was patient. In August of 2021, I paid $1,000 dollars to purchase 2 smart door locks and 2 smart thermostats. I did this so that I can control all 4 from my ADT app on my phone. I ADT personal to install their equipment. This has turned out to be the worst thing that I could have done. Ever since then, I've had numerous problems with the gateway for the system. Problems that I've had are too many to mention, and way too many to waste my hard-earned money on. I will be seeking out Viviant serivces very soon.

Just can’t get anyone to fix anything. It’s like pulling teeth getting someone on the line, then when you do they just can’t do anything and keep handing you off to someone else.

I have been with ADT for about 10 plus…
I have been with ADT for about 10 plus years and overtime the cost continues to increase without any updates to my system. Recently, I had cameras install and was told at the beginning of inquiring all of the equipment I would receive. However, when installation day came what I was told was incorrect. I also was quoted the additional monthly cost but was not explained anything bill being prorated. It appears that ADT was more concern with selling me a product than explaining how the billing would take place. 3 payments have been automatically deducted from my account at one time. And some of which I was overcharged. The credit on my bill does not help with my accounts... Yes, I did ask. I'd written down everything that was explained to me. While the cameras work well. I am disappointed because the ability to monitor is not what I expected. I was expecting to receive the doorbell camera and hub for which the agent said was battery operated but fail to mention I would need an electrician to wire for the doorbell which work alongside the hub. Disappointed. The only positive in this is the customer service agent that I spoke to tried very hard to provide me with information after the fact. She was pleasant but it did not help at the time. I've seen many bad reviews for ADT but I stuck with them. Now I ask myself why? Just frustrated at the moment.

Worst of the Worst!
I was lured by ADT to sign a contract with someone I never intended to do business with, Safe Streets. I don't recommend them they as per my personal experience they are the worst of the worst. They don't believe on customer support and will force you by all means to either keep the contract or pay a ton of money to get out of it.

Called and left a credit card on file to charge every month. Then I get a call a month later telling me they are sending me to collections. 31 minute hold time to talk to someone about this. The funny part? 5 days ago they charged my card. 5 days after they charge my card they are sending me to collections? Buffoonery, 100%

!!!!!!!!!WORST COMPANY IN WORLD!!!!!!!! I no longer trust this company. The technician who came to my home signed paperwork on my behalf without my permission. I Spoke with this woman who claims she was the manager. Corporate later told me wasn't. She told my husband that I told her I only wanted to get out of the contract because I'm in A abusive marriage. Pure evil, don't bother calling corporate they don't care either. I can't trust nobody in this company, I thought ADT was to Protect my home not cause harm to it. I just want to wake up from this nightmare.

Don’t use this company for any reason at all . Customer Service and Corporate Service are a joke and are not there to help you in any way . I would sooner call Smith and Weston then to call this company again . They screwed up all the paperwork to benefit themselves and then blame it on outsourcing companies and say they don’t have any paperwork.THEY ARE A RIPOFF SO BE CAREFUL and call someone else. As for your review no thank you just continue to call me everyday and pass me around from person to person saying they will take care of it . Your Corporation and Customer Serive Dept are a joke . People just earning a salary at the cost of your naive customers. Call another company you’ll thank me in the long run

Do not use this company
Because the system would repeatedly go off for no reason & alert law enforcement, even after a service call and numerous phone calls to ADT, we stopped using it & notified ADT of cancellation. However, 5 months after cancellation, ADT was still withdrawing monthly billings from our bank account we were required to provide in the contract for the best rate. ADT claimed to have no record of our cancellation, though they certainly have access to the records that the alarms were shut off for 5 months. Again, we cancelled, and were still billed. It took a 3rd call and hours on the phone to finally get it cancelled.

No corporate recycling responsibility or system in place
Corporations as large as ADT need to have some form of recycling and environmental responsibility for the products they manufacture. After attempts to return a large amount of equipment, the only response I got after emails and numerous calls were, "take it to a local recycling or dump it in the trash." This kind of attitude is scandalous and requires serious reflection from upper management and action from the government.

I have been with ADT for 15 years
I have been with ADT for 15 years. I decided to leave as it is an expensive, mostly poor service. Twice in the last week it took 15 minutes to have my call answered. Terrible! I have been paying over £42 per month for what? Mostly an over-rated brand leader of a company who do not take enough trouble to look after customers. There was one ironic exception to this. An engineer called Tourea called round to my house to do the disarming/disconnection after I had informed ADT I was leaving. Tourea was really great at his job. Polite and friendly and super professional. If everyone was as good at their work as him maybe ADT wouldn't find they were losing customers.

Giving ADT one star because there is no zero star option. If you are considering ADT, instead turn the other way and RUN!!! I was a loyal client for 2 years and then I decided to upgrade my systems and add cameras. They restarted my contract term to zero, and that is when all my issues started. 2 call outs and 2 virtual tech support calls to fix my systems later, I was told I cannot cancel the service because I need one camera to break down 3 times in the 6 months before I can be approved to cancel. The cameras keep breaking down one after the other, the doorbell camera blew my doorbell transformer which now does not work. It’s like they are taking turns. They’re not serving the purpose I purchased them for. Not to mention the number of calls I made to their very unhelpful customer service and no one from ‘branch’ ever calling me back. I’m 2 plus weeks away from my 6-month cancellation period, and it’s obvious they are stalling for me to lose the ability to cancel. If I could go back in time, I would have never made the regrettable decision to go with these scammers. I opted to downgrade and they said I have to pay for the equipment which DO NOT work. I want the system and I want them to work. But they simply are crap and now I have to pay for the crap? I will do all I can to get out, and after that, no one ever mention ADT to my face. Of all the bad customer service and bad contract experiences I have ever had in my life (and I have had many), ADT is the worst of the worst. Never again!

I canceled our home and office with ADT. They are the worst company to deal with. Their equipment is crap, huge panel and the doorbell camera did not have to work 3/4 of the time. I canceled my home contract a year before and paid $500 dollars to get out of it. When I had called to see how much it was to cancel the lady said $275.00 so I said great let's cancel it. I got the final bill and there were all kinds of fees totaling $500 +. I Have Simplisafe for both my home and office and love it. Less than $200 to the system and $25 to monitor a month. The doorbell camera works and great quality from the camera.

Underhanded and shady practices
ADT salesman came to my door when I first bought a house and convinced me to sign up. The tech came out and spent all his time trying to upsell me and was here for like two hours spending most the time on upsales. He handed me the tablet and said this is the contract for three years with these devices sign here, blah blah blah. Fast forward three months and a strong wind storm blew in a window and set off the alarm, which I learned I could not hear while upstairs. The police came as promised but without a doorbell were unable to reach me. I then received a ticket in the mail for failure to obtain an alarm permit. I had NO idea that was even a thing, let alone that one was even needed. I called ADT and they said that informing me of the Permit is not their responsibility. I told them I wanted to cancel and they sent me to the sub company that apparently is the one that my services are through. They told me that I should have received an email notifying me of the permit. I searched my inbox and there was only a sales receipt from them. I never received it. They were trying to figure out if they could credit me the ticket or waive the cancellation fee and promised to call me back. Never got a call. So I called the next day and talked to a super fake “chipper” manager. Who said that there is also a line in the electronic contract that says there may be a requirement to get an alarm permit based on the municipality. So that clears them of being in the wrong. I asked why o don’t have a copy of the electronic contract and they coups not answer but sent me a copy after we ended the call. Unbelievable experience. They lost a customer because of bad sales and technicians over $187 ticket that was not my fault. Do not recommend them, there are better agencies and systems out there.

I wish I'd read the review before hand.... Wouldn't you know, right after the warranty expires, the system starts mucking up. They wanted to charge me $59 for a VIRTUAL VISIT!!! Well...where's the transportation and equipment charge they used to justify the charges in someone else's HOME VISIT???? Oh, the camera is real good about recording my neighbors on a daily basis, but is extremely hit or miss (mostly miss) when recording activity right in from of my garage. No wonder they stick you in a THREE year contract. Let the buyer beware...and read the reviews. ETA: Hey "customer service" rep...why would I do all of that? Why would I give you my personal info? So you can rob me??? lol Stop. And why can't I reply directly to you???

Hassled us ever since moving in
Moved into our new build 4 months ago and they have hassled us ever since. The same people keep coming to the house day and night when we have repeatedly told them we are not interested. We purchased another alarm system and are waiting for it to be installed. We looked into their service and although fitting was very cheap there was an ongoing monthly fee and reviews speak for themselves...

We moved offices and no longer needed their services, and we notified ADT about this before the move. They have continued to bill us for the last 8 months despite numerous phone calls to clear this up, along with not providing any service. They respond with "we will call you back". For a company that says they will save you from theft, they are thieves. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!!!!
