I wished I had read these reviews…
I wished I had read these reviews before going to ADT I'm so upset and disappointed with this company. I've waited 3 months for them to come and repair my CCTV and I've make phone call after phone call but still it's not working so I've cancelled with them today. They don't turn up for your appointment after you have waited in for hours no one bother to ring you or let you know what is going on . I've never heard such bad excuses . One thing they are good at is taking your money.

Sketchy Electronic Bill Pay
I have tried and failed to get “easy pay” numerous times. It simply doesn’t stick. When I ask why, customer service tells me this never happens (of course it does), it’s a glitch, and yesterday they told me my credit card was “closed.” It is fully functional. Then the customer service person seemed to feel he needed to put me on hold to “make an adjustment so I get all email notifications (like my credit card was closed), but I already get email notifications? There’s another tier of notification that lets you know when the think your payment account is closed??? And you need to request this? Feels pretty sketchy. So finally I said I feel ADT cannot handle electronic bill pay for me and that they must give me paper bills each month. Now I will call them everyday for awhile to make sure they verify this…it seems like they lack competence…or worse.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - STAY AWAY
I have been trying for 3 weeks to get customer service PERSON in the DIY part to cancel and return the NEW system because it will not connect to my wifi 3 calls a day - 45-50 min wait time to only be cut off automatically at 60 minute hold no one else will assist me because its NOT there department LEAVE a call back number and no once calls you The are the worst and I deal with vendors all day long do not recommend unless you want to waste money

ADT: customer satisfaction is irrelevant
June 2023: After 15 years of being an ADT customer I cancelled my service. I’ve since upgraded to a less-expensive, state-of-the-art security service. But, back to ADT, a few years ago my equipment was outdated and faulty and I had to upgrade to new keypad & sensors, etc. Unbeknownst to me because of this equipment upgrade I was wrapped into another contract! I am now being charged an early termination fee after being a customer for 15 years….Ridiculous! Their customer service agents are polite but not the least bit helpful. Stay away from this terrible company.

Disappointed after being lied to.
Had someone come out after we lost one of our sensors. After the install around 4pm, it stopped working. I called the next day to have someone come out and fix it and was told we had an appointment at 3pm that day but nobody came and when I went online to my account I didn’t even see an appointment scheduled. We paid $160 the day the new sensor was installed for it to just not work. I will look into other security companies at this point because this is bad business practice and don’t appreciate being lied to about an appointment being scheduled.

I been trying to get in touch with…
I been trying to get in touch with someone in account department for ADT for several days and keep getting the run around, my cameras has not worked probably since install in November, they have changed my cameras several times and have had a untrained TECh come out by the name of Richard, the ADT give me credit for down time but I prefer to have equipment that works and a tech that is professional, I would not recommend ADT to anyone else, I been with ADT going on five years and have given up on the service of adt

When we lived in another state we had…
When we lived in another state we had no issues with our ADT, was even told when we sell our house and move we would be able to break that contract if we put service at the new house. Fast forward, we sell our house and move to another state. Call to get everything worked out with no issue and being told in fact no obligation to last contract as we were getting service at new house. The following month I get a bill stating I owe nearly 3000, I call and am told if I make installment payments for the equipment only they will lower that balance. Now here I am having 3 payments taken out by ADT and then the 3rd stops and now I gotta pay $518. Will be discontinuing my service shortly with them, definitely do not recommend

If I could rate ZERO, I would. Worst customer service!!! I'm tied into a contract and they never answer the phone. I've left multiple messages and no one replies back. They never come to service our CCTV system as part of the contract. They are great at taking your money and dreadful at fulfilling on what you're paying for!

Won’t let you cancel…ever
I really liked ADT. But when it came time to cancel after years of service, they simply won’t let me. They insist it has to be a phone call, but I’m seldom able to get a person and when I do they just put me on hold. You will be stuck paying for them indefinitely. The only way to avoid this is not to allow them in your home in the first place.

THIEVES!!
NO DOT SIGN UP WITH ADT!!! I trusted ADT because my Dad was a top seller there for years. I bought a new house last year and wanted cameras so I could see what was going on. Out of a total of 12 months my cameras only worked for 2 (total months) I kept calling ADT, they walked me through how to attempt to fix it after it didn’t work they sent me out new cameras (still didn’t work). They sent a guy out and he realized that whoever installed the cameras cut the cord and it had a shortage. He fixed that camera and before he left my other camera stopped working. I called him back in to look at it and he couldn’t get it figured out. He blamed my internet and left. I called my internet service got an upgrade still couldn’t get the camera to work. Finally, I realized I was LITERALLY donating money to ADT because I wasn’t receiving the services I was paying for. I called them to tell them I wanted to cancel my subscription and why. The guy I spoke with was VERY rude but he offered to send out another tech to check the cameras instead of me canceling because he said I would still have to pay. They told me a date and the guy never showed up, and came days later when I was on my way out of town. So when we finally got a date squared away he showed and said it was be a $59 fee. ADT NEVER mentioned a fee and I told the guy I didn’t have it to pay. I honestly hate ADT at this point. The guy made a few phone calls and had the fee waived. He did not fix ANYTHING when he showed up. I woke up today and ADT stole the $59 out of my account. All they care about money, they don’t care about the customers AT ALL!! I am VERY disappointed and can’t believe my dad worked for a company that is so disgusting.

Stay away !
Very disappointed with customer services, they started wrong by adding and removing cameras from our order before installing the cameras. We still gave them a change, worse mistake!! After 24hr their system was not connecting with our Wi-Fi. We had to call multiple time and be on hold for 1hr + for someone to help us. Hours later again the issue show up! I wanted to charge us to send someone to fix their stuff. Now we’re stuck in this contract! I should have kept away from them when they started with their issue.

i sold my house and was trying to move…
i sold my house and was trying to move the current adt subscription to the buyers. i was told it was easier to cancel and have the buyers call to take over the contract, which they did. i spent hours waiting on the line, been passed around multiple times, was promised a callback which didnt happen and then got presented with a 1000$ bill for cancellation fees. it’s clearly a tactic to wear people down. unfortunate for a security company’s customer service to feel like a deliberate scam operation.

Terrible company
Terrible company, appalling customers service. Closed our 4 accounts, still took money even after 3 months notice. Tried to call them for them to say account deleted and refused to put me through to an account manager. They did not fulfil 4 of the visits they were contractually obliged to complete in April 2023 even though we paid up until 19th June 2023. As an SME I urge other companies to find a supplier who cares about their customers.

WORST COMPANY I EVER TRIED TO COMMUNICATE WITH - NOONE CARES and pls do not send me another autobot reply from your alwayscare email
after finally being contacted by someone local from ADT that assured us that after paying all the outstandings our account can be reinstated and we would be able to use the app. My accountant called and was advised to pay the total without the monies written off previously but after paying this total we were advised that we also have to pay the monies written off and when asking to receive a copy of the taped telecon we were advised that this conversation was not taped. Anyway, we paid hoping to get the system reinstated which apparently happens as soon as they receive our payment but have now been advised that any training on the app will cost us 68.- but we can applied for these charges to be reviewed? Keeping in mind this is the app/training we never received initially.... TO SUM UP STAY AWAY FROM ADT AT ALL COST - IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR SANITY

My store was broken into and police were not notified
My store was broken into and police were not called. I went to the online chat on the website to get this sorted out, and they offered me a mere $30 refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and I was given a number. After calling and being ignored and being transferred a few times, I was finally able to speak to a very rude woman who did not offer the assistance that the online chat promised. Overall, this company's service is horrible, and their customer service is even worse. Be aware.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Just had the most embarrassing interaction all because of our stupid fire alarm. Our ADT fire alarm has been going off every time we cook AND for no reason at all. Today we were relaxing and watching a movie and the alarm starts going off - scaring the crap out of me and my dogs. ADT calls my fiancé who is not home so ADT then calls me for code. The fire department then shows up to my house and during the commotion one of my dogs got loose and was running around (luckily she’s friendly). It was incredibly embarrassing to have to tell the firefighters that nothing happened and we are fine while trying to catch my dog. I cannot afford to keep paying for this service. I was on hold for 55+ minutes and once I finally spoke to someone I couldn’t even hear them clearly through the phone so it was no help. He also kept talking over me. So I got zero answers. ADT is the worst and we were naive first time home owners who thought we were doing something good but instead it’s caused more stress than it’s worth. I want to cancel without a penalty. This is a giant waste of our small funds.

Not good to say the least
Where to start? The actual product is not well designed (bulky, no lighting or backlighting on the hub where the key pad is). Two false alarms so far. The door sensor sometimes recognizes my entry and sometimes does not. My point of comparison is the Nest Security System which was well designed. Service - equally awful. Representatives are not helpful. I have been promised call backs from supervisors that never happen. The eCommerce portion of the business is circa 2000. They send you payment links. I could go on and on. I plan to junk this system.

I tried to cancel my contract with ADT. A few months ago I was given a discount because of all the issues I've had dealing with them. I spoke to someone in account management about the cancellation price and he affirmed an amount I would pay, but was unable to send me any verification. (first problem) Then, I received a bill that will hit at the end of this month for $500 more than what I was told. So, I called ADT - one department couldn't help me and said a supervisor would call, who never did. So, I called again and have been passed around to 4 different people, no one able to help me. They should be able to locate the initial recorded call. But, no one was willing to transfer me to a department who could help. ADT has terrible customer service and are unwilling to help people who relied on a word of their employee. It is so awful.

my experience with ADT for the past…
my experience with ADT for the past month has been HELL!! I purchased the Google Nest system because I'm having problems with a mentally unstable neighbor. I had it for 3 weeks without being able to set it up and use it because the customer service representatives couldn't or wouldn't assist me in setting the system up. I was continuously made to repeat the issue, put on hold and transferred. I spent hours on the phone with representatives apologizing but not helping. I spent time on hold and the representatives not returning. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE NEIGHBOR PHYSICALLY ATTACKED ME ON MY FRONT PORCH AND THE NEST DOORBELL DID NOT RECORD THE INCIDENT. Today I called numerous times to pay my bill and fix the issue with the nest doorbell camera and guess what??? I WAS MADE TO REPEAT THE ISSUES OVER AND OVER AND OVER JUST TO BE PUT ON HOLD AND TRANSFERED!!!!!! so for that ADT, I am not paying one cent. I'm done with this horrible home security company. It has been hell dealing with you

I signed up when i was working but have since become disabled and called to cancel because im on a fixed income and they say they cant let me out of my contract when i know damn well they can . I have had false alarms when they have called the police or fire department and they give you one call and if your not johnie on the spot to answer it they dont call you a second time before they call responders . The service is way over priced and the way i see it i signed my contract for 3 years but two years into the contract they raised my fee $7 dollars a month. That is breech of contract so im going to hire a lawyer . Do not sign up with adt they are a rip off.

Does not care about there customers
Does not care about there customers. Horrible customer service and screwed us on the installation. We had to pay geek squad to come put it in and ADTs stupidity cost us the hole day and nothing got done because everything is closed on weekends. Reterde crap!🤬 How can you have my back and be closed at the same time. Reterds! Stick your system up your🐕‍🦺

I called ADT because they were offering a free camera… Well they came to install everything & they came up with some story about the camera, needless to say we didn’t get the camera…. We had a 3 yr contract with them too….. I was so mad!! I hate this company, they didn’t give a about us peons….. EVERYTIME, the alarm went off they never not even once called us to see if we were fine or needed the Police-or Fire…. So I never felt safe in our house for 3 damn yrs….. ADT SUCKS….. Since I was canceling my service, cuz thank GOD my contract was up….. They were offering me soooo much free stuff just to stay with them…. I said” HELL NO” NEVER…
