If I could give 0 stars I would!!! I purchased equipment in June 2020, I made payments all the way through September to pay off the equipment. I've made monthly auto payments every month. Well come August 2021 I had $499 debited out of my account. I've spent at LEAST 6 hours on the phone over the course of the last month n half trying to get my money back. First 4 hours and multiple calls was to figure out why they charged me they couldn't figure it out! When they finally figured out they said that I didn't pay for my equipment!! I had to send in my bank statement to show them I did, in order to get a refund. So I did that. No refund. I call again, they said oh, nobody submitted the refund request, ill do that now. Waited 13 days, just called back and said the refund was denied! They submitted again and said if I don't see it in the account in 4 days, call back. They aren't paying me interest on this money they stole from me! I want a refund now or I'm going to small claims court.
Do NOT use ADT, they're equipment doesn't work, and their technology is old. Their app loads extremely slow so by the time you get to see who is at the door, they're already gone. & the cameras go offline ALL of the time. They're a horrible company.
Terrible company avoid
Terrible company avoid! Had an alarm system with them for two years then left the contract. A few months later I had some issues with the control panel that could be easily resolved if I had the installer code. I rang ADT only to be told they won’t give me the installer code but I could however book an out of contract engineers visit for £200 OR get back into a contract with them. So they basically blackmail you to try and get back into a contract with them or pay the extortionate engineers fee. I now have a completely useless alarm that I have already paid for!

My 92-year old mother was shafted by ADT who didn't honor her phone request to cancel her 3-year contract when she sold her house last January. I've just waited 95 minutes trying to help her cancel it again, after they kept charging her for ADT services on a house she hasn't owned for nine months!!! You can't cancel online like normal companies and subject you to crazy-long wait times! Stay away!!!!!!!
Cancelled my service after 20 years
Cancelled my service after 20 years. Never had an issue with the equipment, but it's like dealing with the mafia to try and quit. They want a 30 day notice to quit, so even though I am going with a competitor, and their equipment will be removed along with the land line being disconnected. I get to pay for an extra 30 days of NOTHING. Again, a 20 year customer. Never go with this company, ever, customer service had me on the line waiting for 35 minutes, then pushed back trying to make me keep their service for another 15. Stay away from them, competitors are cheaper and won't shake you down as you try to leave.
UPDATE: They said, well, you see we have a deal with AT&T, and they need 30 days notice before we can disconnect, so, so sorry, even if you don't have service, you will be charged. Just because. So suck it up buttercup. Great company. They now won't answer my calls or emails.

The only thing consistent about ADT…
The only thing consistent about ADT camera system is it its inconsistent performance. It has given me so much frustrations over the years. It'd stop working at a drop of a hat, and takes so much effort to make it working again, only to fail soon enough. I'd stay away from ADT camera system like it's a plague.
I also have a Ring system, and it always works. I mean ALWAYS. If anything happens, it's an easy fix. ADT can learn a thing or two about the camera system from the Ring folks. They know what they're doing!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I had ADT and was never once called when the alarm did go off. I sold my house moved before the contract was up which was not planned. They sent me a bill for $118.00, 75% of the remaining contract and said it was due immediately. I had cancelled my service in June and it was still active as I was still getting alerts at the end of July. Anyway they sent the termination bill almost 5pm Friday and the site wouldn’t take my payments for some reason so I paid it Monday 8/16 online. I am now receiving a letter from collections. That’s BS. I have always paid my bill and on time. As a matter of fact it was automatically taken out of my account. ADT never contacted me for termination fee Safe Haven did. They are way over priced and horrible service. I will never use ADT again abs not recommend to my friends/family.

Rude terrible customer service
It all started last may when i recieved a bill from ADT saying credit card rejected my payment. I called my CC company and it appeared ADT never billed them on automatic payments. I called ADT and had a bad argument it was recorded so if this is reviewed they can listen to it. Ever since i have been getting recieving calls from them because it is behind. I asked for the CC number and they said they dont have it anymore. I answered the phone last week from some ADT guy who would not let me talked just kept demanding payment i got mad and started to yell back again they can listen to the tape. My contract is up in november and i will make sure they are paid off. I dont know how there billing people are trained but i will never answer the phone with them again. I am reporting this to the BBB and Ohio attorney general. Oh buy the way if they would have notified me or let me know the card number they say they tried to bill this would have never happened.

We have been charged for an inspection that was not ever even arranged due to the Corona virus.
Our money was taken without consent and for services they did not provide.
Even worse, this was not relayed to us until I spent a long time on the telephone establishing what the £146 charge was for.
We have been awaiting a refund for months.
They do not reply to any emails and they will not handle complaints on the telephone.This is despite our following ADTs own formal complaint process, which is obviously being completely ignored, which is then also breach of contract and the SLA.
Their treatment of clients is disgraceful and in breach of regs and once we have find appropriate Ombudsman we will be reporting this along with our paper trail of “evidence” of our treatment.
Run away from ADT Fire and Security
If it is possible to give -0* I would give them lots of -* for such a poor customer services living to their poor reputations.
Arrangements made to have all equipments disconnected and to terminate the contracts but guess what such typical no one communicated despite of several calls to ensure they failed me today but all ended for the worse.
Please, please if anyone out there reading this please don’t sign for ADT, it’s all fake and worst that cowboys.

Do not use ADT they will take your money and then keep taking it no matter how many times you try to cancel. My contract ended and I had called multiple time to make sure it did not renew. They kept charging me for two more months and now Inhave a bill for the 30 days after I officially cancelled. It’s ironic that a company that is supposed to provide security will openly steal your money and make sure you know they don’t care at all. ADT shouldn’t be allowed to do business.

Do not use ADT. Since I have installed them (30 days so far) I have created more problems for myself and not solving anything, more headaches, waisting my time and money. Camera fails every 4-5 days, need to spend time on the phone, the representative tries to fix the problem, can't do it, puts me on hold forever (2+ hours, not response). I don't really know what to do at this point. I really wish I could get rid of them. I'm tempting to pay the cancellation fee just to be free of ADT.
I have had ADT since 2019
I have had ADT since 2019, and since they installed their system I was getting false signals causing the alarm to go off. I contacted ADT and they kept sending their technicians, but they could not figure it out. So I let it go and kept the system unarmed to keep the alarm from going off. In April 2021 I contacted the ADT customer service to explained that I was moving and I needed the alarm to be disconnected, they said to me that even though I was not living in the address where the alarm was installed I had to keep paying until the contract was up. So here I was paying for an alarm system that I had no use for and I was living in another county. Finally when my contract was up on August 2021, I called them to cancel the service, and they said to me that I had a disconnection fee in addition to paying for the Month when the contract was over.
If anyone in considering an alarm system for there home DO NO USE ADT, They are a reap off and their services is the worst. Before using a company do your research first including reading their customer reviews.
Horrible service
My system was installed 7/22/2021 and still does not work correct. Since 7/22/2021 I have to call weekly, sometimes multiple times a week for a problem. Install took 2 full days, tech did not wear a mask and broke my ac while installing smart thermostat. Day 1 of service my sensors were literally falling off the doors and busting wide open. This happened over a dozen times. Sensors were still triggering alarm to go off so tech deleted the zone vs fixing the issue (still like this as of today). Sensors still setting alarms off because install tech installed all shock sensors and rather than fixing the issue tech just turned sensitivity to lowest setting making them basically useless. Tech removed 3 shock sensors and replaced with normal sensors and my equipment charges were never corrected/lowered as these are cheaper than the shock ones. My “smart thermostat” makes my house hotter and costs me a lot more and tech says it’s new and they don’t know much about them so for me to call nest as that’s all they would be doing anyway. Cameras were junk off the get go, I called on day 2 to report and cancel and they’d send a tech out to fix and correct my app for better service. Cameras still intermittently work. Doorbell camera hasn’t worked for 3 weeks and I keep getting blown off. Literally ignored. I call Greg the Svc Mgr and he texts please text him. So I text and he ignores them. So a month in and I don’t have a proper working security service and I don’t have a doorbell camera that works just decoration on a wall at this point. I call and talk to managers more times then I can count, I call managers cell phones and email managers and get ignored, this has been going on for 4weeks. I’ve dealt with Ivan, Greg, George and Kenneth who are all supposedly managers and yet still I’ve being ignored and don’t have a working system. Install told me I needed better internet with 10gig upload so I called and increased my internet speed which also increases my internet bill and yet still the cameras only intermittently work. Svc tech tells me I need a better router so I pay over $200 for a new router and still cameras intermittently work and doorbell camera flat out doesn’t work. So since having my system installed, it hasn’t worked correct for more than a couple days and I’ve increased my internet bill and electric bill so I’d say none of this is acceptable or worth what I’m paying.
Overpriced and extra charge after cancelation
Overpriced and will squeeze every last buck that they can from you. It's a hassle to cancel. And they want to charge me an extra month after cancelation.
ADT Has Failed Me When I Need Them Most!
TL;DR:
- ADT didn't respond to a break-in that occurred while I was home.
- ADT is taking money from me for services they aren't providing.
- ADT is not actively monitoring my home because of a malfunction caused by their technician.
- ADT has not been monitoring my home since APRIL even though I have been paying them too.
- ADT tried to use predatory practices to lock me into a year long contract after I asked for compensation for THEIR failure.

Firstly, I have been with ADT for 9 years.
During that 9 years we've had a few false alarms and ADT had responded pretty promptly.
Wednesday 8/25/21 was different.
AN INTRUDER BROKE INTO MY HOUSE WHILE I WAS HOME... and ADT didn't call me or the police. As a matter of fact, they weren't even able to see that the alarm had gone off.
Apparently, in April of this year when they upgraded my alarm box, a communication error occurred and wasn't detected until TWO DAYS AFTER A BREAK IN!!
I was home during the break in. I was put in the position of having to point my competition firearm at an intruder. Luckily for myself and the burglar I didn't have to shoot him as I was able to exit through the garage while on the phone with 911.
Unfortunately, because it took such a long time for the police to arrive the burglar already escaped. HAD ADT DONE THEIR JOB HE LIKELY WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TIME TO ESCAPE AND THE POLICE WOULD HAVE CAUGHT HIM, according to the police.
But wait, there's more! The alarm panel started acting funny after this event and started sounding every 4 hours. So, I haven't been able to sleep since Wednesday because of the alarm.
Still... There's more! ADT originally wasn't able to send a tech to investigate the issue until Monday, September 30th. They expected me to have to deal with the alarm going off every four hours for FIVE DAYS! Seriously...
Finally, after several calls to ADT a tech called me at home this morning and had me run tests on the system. They determined that communication had been compromised and it was likely to have failed in APRIL when they did the upgrade. Since the codes they had me execute were codes that the tech "left on by mistake". And then, after that was all over, they still didn't get communications.
THE ALARM IS CURRENTLY NOT COMMUNICATING WITH ADT and they know it. I ran it up the flagpole until I got to someone high enough that was able to arrange a tech coming out TODAY to fix the issue. But I have to be home for a 5 hour window which is going to cause me to miss another very important appointment.
Still more... So, I then called their account services and asked for a refund for the last three months of service since they weren't monitoring the home and we were paying them. Christopher Bell, the agent I spoke with told me he would be "happy" to do that for me, IF I COMMITED TO ANOTHER YEAR LONG CONTRACT WITH ADT!!!
I literally told him to, "Eat my ass!" I'm done with ADT. Period.
He had the audacity to ask me to commit to a year long contract with a company that has already failed me, in order to recoup a little bit of money I guess he thinks I need.
Well he's wrong.
Because of Mr. Christopher Bell, I am actively searching for a new company to do business with. DFW Security, Brinks, Vivint, anybody that's NOT ADT would be a better choice.
Do not use ADT. They will fail you when you need them most, then try to take advantage of you to lock you into a contract.

I had the equipment installed 08/20 a camera, sensors a pad etc. Within 3 hours the doorbell camera was dead, I contacted and was told it had to charge?, it worked when installed, if its charging it should never die. Instead of sending someone out, they waited all day and finally came out the next day. Said the camera was bad, replaced 6 days later I am at dinner, see a message that its switched to an different source and dead soon after I got home.
I called and set someone to come out tomorrow, and then spoke with someone else as I had called to cancel within the 3 days, as after thinking it more over it was to much $. I was promised a phone call by a local branch within 2 days and that the 3 days was frozen till then. Well no phone call, its now going on 3 days, I work after having the last two off where I sat and waited and did not get anything. Kind of hard to answer when I am at work and cant answer the phone.
They then hung up on me, I called back and the same nonsense on how it would be fixed up etc. I said I am pretty much ready to cancel services, the man then said the 3 days passed, I have it in picture and email that I was ready and was asked to wait.
I am seriously ready to use the 30 day trial period they do not mention and be done.

First of all I don't have ADT but two of your sales person came to my home. Omar Marquez was the first one he told me that they have been alot of break ins in my area. That I needed your services but right now we don't want too purchase security cameras. I don't know why your sales person like to scared people now I have cameras all over. That's not the way to get a sale if that's what they looking for. Worst company for sales person.
Unhappy about ADT and their customer service
I am very unhappy about ADT. I have waited 6 days for an engineer. When ever I call ADT about this they would say that the engineer will come today, tommorrow or after midnight. But no engineer ever came. When I call their customer service they say that other people have waited 6 weeks and their attitude is not very nice. When I ask for a manager they say the manager will call me back but no call came. I am very disappionted.

Worst service and even worst customer service. ADT tech support over the phone tries to make you feel stupid, I can only imagine how are they in person. I had to talk to a manager to get some common sense in the other end of the line. Avoid this company, do not trust. There are cheaper and more reliable options.
