I inquired about an alarm system for my home. I gave my bank details and they took €44.50 from my card when I got contract to sign I saw sign up was for 36 months this wasn’t mentioned when I inquired when i phoned back i was told i could cancel after 18 months without any penalties contract contradicts this & says their is penalties I wasnt comfortable with this and also the fact they neglected to tell me from the outset so I didn't sign the contract and requested they refund me my €44.50. Sales man said he sent my request to accounts and 17 days later after 5/6 emails I still haven't received my refund or any correspondence from accounts as to when my refund will be processed. I did not sign contract and feel this is way to long to leave someone hanging without any explanation. I do not recommend this company they were very quick to take my money but no so quick to give it back. Beware people

Videos of keypad show it won’t work.
Installed ADT in a new residence. Keypad didn’t disarm repeatedly so called for service. Service rep came and implied I didn’t know how to use the system. This is my 3rd system. Over ensuing months I have videoed the keypad to show it not disarming nor arming. Not sure I have any fight left to deal with ADT but am super unhappy with ADT. Do not recommend.

4G upgrade a disaster
Until the recent "upgrade" to 4G communications, the last 16 years were uneventful, though there have been frequent increases in monitoring cost. After three failed service calls (a lot of wasted time) I Installed the "user upgradeable" cell bridge, on my own and immediately began receiving the first of innumerable calls for non-communication. I have spent 15 hours over a few weeks troubleshooting with phone support but nothing has changed and I am frustrated and ready to give up. Why would ADT make this change over when clearly they were not prepared or this cell bridge is not the answer. I am posting to let others know they are not alone.

HAHAHAHA!!! I came here to write a bad review, but there are over 1400 bad reviews! I've NEVER seen a company with so many bad reviews. How are you even in business? All of my problems are already addressed in your plethora of bad reviews. ADT you SUCK!

If I could give then zero I would.
If I could give then zero I would. Had a service put in with a months trial. Set it up had it running for a week then cancelled it. They said the period for cancellation had expired because it was from the initial phone call. I tried to cancel it before it was set up but they said we had to set it up first. Cancelation fee now is over 1,000 dollars. Dont believe what they saywhen you call them, they are criminal.

Such a mistake
We had a doorbell camera, yard camera, door locks and lights installed as well as sensors on our front and back doors a month ago. The doorbell hasn’t worked from day 1, the light switches were put on so horribly that they are all crooked and don’t work (we have to use the app to turn our lights off) and the locks only work about half of the time. I can’t believe how much we paid for a system that simply doesn’t work. And of course, we’re getting crickets from support. Do yourself a favor and skip all of this nonsense. I regret not going with Simplisafe.

Zero Accountability for Their Own Mistakes
Had the worst experience with this company and it's subcontractor Safe Haven Security Services. While installing the camera system at my residence the technician fell through my ceiling. First, I thank God that the technician did not fall all the way to the floor and was held up by the ceiling beam, yet extensive damage was done to my ceiling. When the incident did occur a representative of Safe Haven told my wife not to worry that the ceiling would be repaired, no matter the cost, as soon as possible. This was not the case as weeks went by and the damages were not fixed. After a good amount of quotes from different construction companies, who were provided by Safe Haven, repairs to ceiling were never done. I would say more than half of the companies that provided a quote did not even come to my home to assess the damages but yet a quote was done through word of mouth. Of course those quotes were very low. I decided to have the construction company that was sent by Safe Haven and who was showing they would provide the best service to do the work on my ceiling. Joseph the person who was handling the quotes and an employee with Safe Haven told my wife they did sound very professional and could do the work properly. I did mention to Joseph I wanted my ceiling along with the walls to look the same as when it was not damaged. The construction company that did the work guaranteed their work would look like the ceiling had never been damaged. The ceiling was repaired and I sent the cost to Safe Haven. The reason I decided to do this was, for one, Safe Haven was responsible for the damages yet they wanted my wife to do all the leg work for them which caused my wife to lose time and money from her job and second, my electric bill was also going through the roof as I live in an area that had temperatures at over 100 degrees for the months of July and August. The amount of the repair was $1232.80 and Safe Haven only sent me $545.84. This amount won't even pay for my electric bill lets remember this incident was caused by their technician. I regret ever doing business with this company as many neighbors of mine went with another company Vivint Alarm Systems which were going around the neighborhood at the same time as ADT. I was told by many of them they are very satisfied with Vivint Alarm services and their instillation. I guess I'm going to have to see what other tricks ADT has up their sleeves to take my money. One last thing I was promised a discount for being an army veteran by this company but that didn't pan out either. The explanation given was due to technical difficulties and that the sales person forgot. I hold ADT responsible, due to the fact, that their name is used to sell the alarm service.

Bandits take your money-don't deliver the service!
I would give no stars if I could. I made a service appointment more than 2 weeks in advance. They insisted on payment upfront (£270) and told me engineer would call when on the way. On the day, No call. I called them at 16:45 to be told THEY changed the appointment to the following week, BUT NO ONE CALLED ME! The person I spoke to didn't really address the problem, he kept saying "a different department schedules out of contract systems." It will be four weeks between payment and service IF THEY BOTHER TO SHOW UP. My alarm service was scheduled for Sept16. Then it was moved to the 21st. Today they told me it would be on the 23rd. When I asked why, I was told, " We have to prioritise our contract customers" BUT I HAD ALREADY PAID. If ADT doesn't do something to resolve this, I will write to you again with the names and telephone extensions of the people who dealt with me. AlwaysThereatadt.com is a joke--no one replies to it

You just can't cancel, they pass you around on the phone for hours and hours without shame. Its a crooked company, which is ironically in the security business!

Deceitful Practices
I have had ADT since 2011. I moved to another state in 2018 and signed a new contract to renew my service. I moved in 2019 to an apartment and had to get new equipment that wasn't hard wired so that I could continue my service without penalty. I learned that my contract was renewed and now instead of 3 years, I have to continue paying for a fourth year because of the "type" of ADT - Pulse vs Pro or whatever it's called. Beware that if you sign a contract because of relocation and have to use a different kind of equipment, then they are going to renew your contract for longer terms and you are stuck. Such a deceitful and disappointing practice.

We sold our home due to job changes…
We sold our home due to job changes with Covid. Called to cancelled was told it was fine there’s a contract but pay this amount and you will be all set. Then get a bill in the mail. Call again told the same thing. Get another bill told taped conversations isn’t available and now over a thousand dollars. We sold the house and now have to rent something smaller, yet still have to pay that’s crazy. I would never recommend them to anyone. Go online to Arlo buy your own cameras and get everything on your phone and available 24/7 with no monthly fees ever!!! ADT is such a rip off and highly over rated!!!

ADT makes you sign a contract for 3…
ADT makes you sign a contract for 3 years. Small print says they can raise your rates anytime. Call and complain, they will lower your rate to $14.99 for one year then $27.99 for life. Meanwhile, if you don’t complain, your rates can be $50 or more monthly. Horrible business model. Would give zero stars if it was an option.

WE had an ADT engineer out on Monday…
WE had an ADT engineer out on Monday Morning to reinstate Door sensors (2 plus room Sensor ) he did 1 said he couldn't do the others and left. we haven't been able to set the alarm since !! contacted ADT and they said they would send another engineer.... 3 days we have waited in now, 8 phone calls later, we found out last night that it was on the engineers job list but he didn't have time before he went home but couldn't be bothered to let us know...ok taking your monthly payments though

The first month I had ADT as my home…
The first month I had ADT as my home security service I had an alarm go off, after following to a T the instructions to set the "Away" setting heading to work. The alarm went off and the police were called. I spoke to a rep at ADT and they informed me they called off LAPD and they reset the signal and all should be fine. FIVE hours later LAPD arrives on my doorstep. A week later a bill for around $400 arrives for the false alarm. Five hours ADT had to call off LAPD but didn't then they refused to pay the alarm fine saying it was on me and they did everything right. I had two reps tell me on the phone that day and the following week when I got the fine they'd reimburse me for it. Absolute garbage customer service. I'm afraid to use the system now for fear this will happen again.

Quick to sign up or renew with with big…
Quick to sign up or renew with with big discounts but after 11 years as a customer that wants to cancel service it is impossible. Sent a certified letter in June to cancel but they keep billing me. Today after an hour on phone ( mostly holding) 5 different associates to be put on hold and picked up with a new person each time. Each one asked my info each time and when I wanted to cancel got put on hold again. 5th associate hung up on me. Would never recommend to anyone. Bad bad customer service.

14yr customer with ADT
14yr customer with ADT. Two separate days I had appointments scheduled to update my equipment. Both times, a "NO SHOW" with-in the the scheduled times. The first time they called after the time and said "they were here", LIAR's!!! I have security camera's that show that no-one was here, driveway or came to the door! The second appointment was today & it is 1.5 hours after the scheduled time. "NO SHOW" again! For them to claim to be #1; I would not even bother with a #2 or #3!!! They have ALWAYS been great at taking $, but very SLOW on customer service. I wonder what kind of response I would get in case of a fire. 6hours or days late after fire was put out??? I wish there were negative stars!!!

Worst customer service unprofessional
Worst customer service unprofessional . As I am writing this review I’m currently on hold after being transferred and hung up on by a time agent Kelly at 11:00 am today , I pay my bill by auto Pay so I don’t owe any money . I’m not a rude person all I’m trying to do is get a tech to instruct me on battery replacement because apparently you have to remove the entire panel to do so , so the prior agent suggested a tech to ensure we are doing it correctly 10 min I’m still waiting ! To clarify as you picked apart my review and only focus on what you thought the issue was … so let’s me be crystal clear ******My wait time isn’t the Issue Being Hung up on by Kelly who pretended to not hear me is the issue . Being transferred with advising is what I’m upset about … Not the wait time the unprofessional way your agents are !

There should be a zero star option for this company. I had 2 different salesmen come by my new home that refused to listen anything I told them. They were the rudest salespeople I've ever encountered in my life. So bad that I will never consider ADT for home security no matter the price. Their disrespectful representatives lost a potential customer for life.

I've been with Adt for over 20+ years…
I've been with Adt for over 20+ years in different areas in the United States due to being military and traveling and living in different places I've always put my trust in Adt and never had a problem until I moved to Florida five years ago this month. After being here and having Adt everything started off very well I went to inquire about upgrading my security system and this is where the problem started. They sent a guy out name Deon is his middle name that he goes back in Winterhaven Florida. This guy comes out on a Saturday with no equipment to be installed I thought that was kind of odd I kind of watched how things progressed along he called someone that was close by to bring him some equipment he did not install all of the equipment that I asked for however I had to pay for. After signing the contract I have three business days to cancel Deon worked on Saturday he was off on Sunday Monday he was off Tuesday he returned back to work and I called him to let him know that the equipment is not working I even call Adt to explain to them that this guy bought new equipment with him and when he did install it it did not work at all. I felt some kind away and became very leery so I decided to cancel the contract in the meantime ATT automatically drafted all of the funds $1085 out of my bank account and when I called them they told me that my refund was denied because I signed a contract and it was for five years of monitoring that didn't even sound right I kept all documentation text back-and-forth emails and I kept calling kept getting the runaround nobody knew anything after about a month of calling and explaining the situation the billing department still denied my claim to return my money for equipment and no longer head because on the third day I had Adt come back and pick up the equipment that was not working in my home that Deon left. I did everything on my part. Then after a few phone calls more I did receive my refund of all monies. They are located in Tampa Florida and I tell you stay away from Adt the worst company ever I have dealt with it made the whole 20+ years of dealing with them go down the drain I would never ever recommend Adt to anyone stay away Run, Run, Run from them like your life depended on it even one of the customer service representative said that's a lot of money for them not to want to give it back to you. And I decided to write this review after I receive my money just in case they decide to not give it back. I went with a different security company and I have had no issues whatsoever sometimes change is good. My system works great when I called customer service they answer and they fix the problem at hand granted I know that a lot of people have had bad experiences with different companies and it is so sad. There is nothing that Adt can say to me offering me to come back to them ever in my life. If I could give them lower than a one star I would they don't even deserve that.

ADT stole $650 from my wife…
ADT stole money from my wife's bank account and promised to refund it twice after a manager listened to the phone calls and agreed there was never any mention . Three weeks later it is still not there. Thursday 9/9/2021 there was a pending deposit that never appeared today Friday the 10th. Never sign up for automatic draft if you decide to use ADT. Next step is to dispute the charges with the bank who will refund the money immediately. Shawn B

Horrible company
Horrible company. I was charged $2,384.36 without my authorization. They used my card on file card on file I used to pay for the equipment. Now I have been trying to call them. Spoke to 2 people today, saying they now cannot find my account.

Impossible to get ahold of a human once you are a customer. Their hardware breaks and has rarely ever fully functioned. Their tech is behind the times in comparison to ring Highly doubt their reply below came from a human and big surprise they want me to do work for them. I’m the customer!!!!

They lure you with a better price to be sure. When my door sensor needed to be put back on, they charged me almost £300 even though they didn’t need any new parts . I will be looking for an alternative company 😡

The worst BS you could imagine
If I could give something a negative review, ADT takes the cake. I bought a house with ADT installed and did not purchase the contract from the seller of the house. I prefferred and had my own Amazon Blink video surveillance system that I installed myself. My 1 year old accidentally pushed a button and none of us knew the service was still active despite the seller moving her account to the house she moved to. Of course there was no PIN disarm code because we never purchased ADT in the first place. They just kept it going, and the seller paying. When the alarm went off, they WOULD NOT send a technician to disarm it. Got passed along to 4 or 5 people whose first line is always "it's not an active service" after they literally just confirmed the seller kept paying for it and wanted us to sign up with them for them to stop the freaking alarms from going off. An armed sheriff and 3 firefighters later, they still refuse to send a technician even though even the firefighters themselves cannot locate the box panel to manually disconnect it. One of the firefighters even spent a good 10 minutes on the phone with the ADT rep when I handed him my phone. Even the sheriff instructed ADT to send someone to disarm since we had no PIN from the home seller. They said, hypothetically they cannot disarm it form their end because WHAT IF the seller lived here and someone was trying to harm the seller and my response was..Do you think I'm stupid? If you would send a human, we can show that person all the mortgage papers that we bought and now own the house. Heck, you can verify this information electronically very easily. The cops and the firefighters even spoke to you!!! Still wouldn't budge. Resorted to telling us to go find a way to reach the seller. This is some next level BS if I've ever heard of one. One agent named DONNA was literally yelling at my husband telling him it's an active account and they cannot remove something that's active. So which is it? Active or inactive? They switch it based on what helps their argument in an effort to not send a technician to fix it. Said they cannot do anything - lie! They had the contact info the the home seller since she was apparently still paying for it. We told them - "Don't you service active accounts? Do you expect us to listen to this alarm forever". The system was hardwired into our electric. To this day we have not found the panel box that they supposedly installed and they are still refusing to take their equipment that we did not purchase, from our property. Long story short, I got into the circuitry and manually disabled everything when someone was able to calm my toddler so I can work on the thing. I would sue ADT but my will to never encounter them in my life is very strong. Switch to Ring, Blink, Wyze - anything but these hustlers with an outdated hustle you and blackmail you business model. They did not care I had a 1 year old that was sick and needed to rest. They would not spend the time or resources to send a human that could have resolved everything quickly.
