I only gave One star because there's no option for ZERO or NEGATIVE Stars. This company is the one of the greatest thieves and scammers around. They sold me on an alarm package less than six months ago at which time I asked them that I would be moving in several months and if they would be able to transfer the system to my new address. The salesperson and the technician that completed the install both assured me that that would be no problem as long as I scheduled within 30 days of the move. Well, the time came for the move, and I called for the transfer of service as instructed and now they tell me that they no longer provide such service but rather that they would offer me a new system for the new address at a discount price. What a F@#*ing Scam!! My system is less has less than six months active which means that I'm still paying for the equipment and they now want me to have to purchase another equipment package. This has got to be illegal in some shape or form. The benefit/service of transferring the system to another residence was the only reason why I signed the contract to which now they don't want to uphold. STAY AWAY FROM ADT... THEY ARE CROOKS AND SCAMMERS. In response to your apparent scripted response...keep your B.S. apology which doesn't mean anything. There wasn't any apparent miscommunication or misinformation as your employees were very confident and insistent regarding the information they provided. Which is now obviously a tactic used to secure contracts and revenue for company that doesn't mind screwing over their customers at any given moment. Oh and by the way, when we spoke with customer service earlier today the rep indicated that the service of transferring/relocating equipment was a recent change to company policy. So anyone with a contract signed prior to this new change should be in fact grandfathered in for the service that was in their contract at the time that it was entered into. But that's too much like running an honest and as you put it a "transparent" company.

Worst customer service ever!!!
I have been a very long time customer of ADT security at my home. I recently had an issue with intermittent beeping. After hours on telephone hold trying to contact a customer service person to set up a service call their response was “we’ll give you a discount” because we screwed up so badly. It was not about the cost. It was about the service. Customer service is terrible. I canceled my service. ADT is awful.

Horrible service
Horrible service. Trying to get a sensor changed. No one picks up the phone. Put on extended hold and gets disconnected. Chat does not work either. 50+ on the wait list and before I get my turn it logs me off. No way to reach anyone to talk to

Absolutely HORRIBLE service
Absolutely HORRIBLE service! Was a customer of Ackerman for 12 years then ADT acquired them. Upgraded my system and they never connected the windows monitoring to it. Been trying to resolve for 7 months!! To compensate they said they would put me on a service plan free for 12 months then billed me for it, and I still cannot get that resolved. I call to discuss with Account Management team, on hold for an hour each call, get disconnected, or passed around to others who know nothing. No one ever follows up, calls back, does what they agreed to...they only take notes of what was discussed and then no action!! If not resolved this month, I'm canceling for breach of contract. This review is my last resort, hoping someone from ADT reads it and will help me out. I've never experienced anything like with any service. The most dysfunctional service team I've ever experienced!! The only reason I rated them a "1" is because "0" is not an option!

Should have switched to another company…
Should have switched to another company my sensors go off when the alarm is not activated I set my cameras to record at certain times and the they record when every they want.I was suppose to have a service call on a date and time they provided and no one called me.And to have to pay a high service for them to come out and fix the issue is ridiculous.I should have switched to another company I hate I upgraded my service

IT was a pain in the a** to cancel their membership. I waited an hour few times and finally just waited 1 hour and 30 min. still unable to cancel. HORRIBLE customer service.

If I could put a -100 stars I would. This company seeks to make money off people not reading their contracts. I made a mistake in signing up for service when I went through a terrible divorce. Within a week I realized my mistake and I didn't need their service. I asked to cancel and discovered I only had 3 days to decide to opt out and I was now stuck for over $3000 for 3 years. No matter the reason or tears cried they only want my money and have no sympathy or offer any exceptions to their contract terms. They are thieves and heartless people. On top of that each time I tried to call and cancel I was placed on hold for an hour or so. I was bounced around from the people who cancel to the accounting people to collect the remaining amount on my contract. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ADT SERVICE!!!!!!! UPDATE: this was their response when I emailed them. Customer service with these folks would be better served by kindergartners. Uncaring money greedy people. Hello, We believe in being transparent, that is why the length of the contract and penalty for premature cancellation is in bold font on the first page of all of our agreements. Utterly and completely the WORST…
Utterly and completely the WORST service provider I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Ever. From the utter technical ineptitude (alarm going off at 3:00 a.m, told it was battery, it was not and with a toddler I might add). To installing a new system, then asking for money to replace it 12 months later as it was 'old tech'. Onto insufferable accounting and billing people with no record of previous conversations or even my contact details after re-stating them SEVEN times. NEVER use them. I had to give them 1 star? I'd go into negatives if it was at all possible.

Be carfeful of cancellation policy
Policy is 30 days to cancel. We had a quick offer and sale on our home. For us to avoid paying for ADT security after we moved out, we would have had to cancel our service six days before we even knew we had an offer to buy our home! We canceled our account the day we moved out like every other utility, but ADT was the only one that insisted billing us another month. In end, we paid for about 45 days of service on a home we didn't even own any more.

IF YOU HAVE TO TELL CUSTOMERS NOT TO USE PROFANITY MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT YOUR COMPANY. I HAVE BEEN USING YOUR COMPANY FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN BROKEN INTO TWICE AND HAD MY WINDOWS BROKEN 3 TIMES. EVERY TIME ITS NOT ADT FAUILT THE ALARM DIDNT GO OFF. I DIDNT HAVE THE RIGHT SENSOR OR THE SENSOR I HAVE ISNT A HEAT AND MOTION SENSOR. I NEED A GLASS BREAK SENSOR. YOU ARE A COMPANY THAT GETS PAID OVER 350 A MONTH FOR DOING NOTHING. YOU DONT MONITOR THAT CAMERAS. YOU DONT FIX ANYTHING AND YOU CHARGE JUST TO COME OUT EVEN IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE. I SO NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR USLESS SERVICE AROUND 350. I ALSO HAVE TO PAY 1.400 FOR A WINDOW,CLEAN UP AND REPLACE THE WRAP ON THE WINDOW. MY STORE WAS CLOSE WHILE I HAD TO MAKE CALLS FOR CLEAN UP AND REPAIRS. Watch Out
Watch Out! They sold us a full security package. Initial install was a total failure. Inexperienced technician was really just a poor salesman. Equipment failures from day one. Too many phone calls and complaints. The system never worked properly (cameras are cheap. the poorest Chinese quality resolution) nor did they ever show up at our house after the sale. One year later we cancelled the monthly service charge for security monitoring. Then the started calling! Promised a complete upgrade for free, and monthly charge waiver. Next week they promised a discounted upgrade, and no waivers and the then followed up with a “ sorry we cannot help you”. Oh my, very scary company. They have no idea how poor they are! Any way, please do not use this company. Huge $7,000 dollar mistake.

Worst company ever
Worst company ever! Wouldn’t even deserve a 1 star. These guys and service are awful. Been over a year with them and still can’t just have a normal Svc call. Tech was supposed to replace a battery and he didn’t even get on his ladder (after reviewing video) he came back in and when I asked why it still showed critical and low battery he said it needs reset and got on his phone and did his thing. Well when I went to set the alarm tonight i see once again the morons deleted the zone rather than fixing the issues. Come on man I was a battery and he’s so damn careless and lazy and just deletes it!!! We’d have gladly replaced the battery ourselves. Worst company ever. This is a tiny issue compared to what all I’ve dealt with with these clowns

Called to cancel due to moving
Called to cancel due to moving. We are not under contract. There is still 30 days required to do this. No one gave me a good answer as to why. We were with them for awhile but have never had good customer service. How is it 30 days when even phone companies can cancel service that day. The electric company, trash service and gas company can cancel on the spot. Please do yourself a favor, and use a different home monitoring company.

This is the worst company I’ve ever…
This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. After 2 years of faulty equipment, multiple tech visits, adt could not resolve my faulty cellular communication and monitoring system which prevent it from performing the one task and service I had monthly dues. Monitoring and alarm in case of break in or fire. After this issue not being resolved for over (2) years, i happily decided to change for Vivin’t and now I’m not only getting a more advanced service and features but also a fraction of the cost from adt. My issue now is after 6 months of cancellation, I continue receiving bills threatening to discontinue service. Thankfully my attoerney is now handling.. buyer beware.

This company has the worst customer service, relatively higher fees, and an extremely confusing business relationship with Safe Streets USA that complicates ANY changes to your service. It has been a nightmare having ADT. Steer clear of ADT.

So called to cancel a service today to…
So called to cancel a service today to find out that the 36 month contract I called about to cancel for horrible service was actually a 60 month contract. I was told the equipment was financed over 60 months not that I was agreeing to 60 months of a no back out contract. I was also told certain equipment would be removed from my contract which I found out today was not removed. I was lied to from two employees as to the equipment not being on the contract but shows on the contract and was in the charge for cancellation. Finally I demand management Brenda Brown informs me that even though I didn’t receive the camera and was lied to about the contract length the only thing that matters is that written contract. So they have employees stealing equipment from them under your contract and because you trusted that technician to remove it that’s your fault for trusting the integrity of a security company. Just a shame for a company you are trusting your families safety with can just lie and manipulate your contract to suit their needs. Do not use ADT for security unless you want liars and manipulators protecting your property. I also learned of a class action lawsuit against adt for an employee accessing in home cameras to watch you inside your home unknowingly. The lawsuit is being filled in Florida if you feel your privacy has been accessed. To say angry would be an understatement and to not be able to trust the integrity of your security company is disgusting. I don’t trust this company at all and I am held hostage to a contract they manipulated.

Dishonest and negligent
I was sold a system by a sales rep named Caleb (badge #: 214381). I called to cancel installation because my loan officer offered to install a system for free. Caleb offered our system and monthly service at a discounted rate so I stayed with the install. Well he never uploaded the amended contract so I was charged $378 over the agreed amount. The install tech told me he’d give me a free google nest only to charge me $50 for it. I’ve spend HOURS on the phone with billing and account management. No one can help me. I keep being told the “local office” has to fix it. Local office has never called me and keeps marking my issue as solved because the contract was legit. The one that is in my account is correct, but he never uploaded the amended one! Caleb responded at first saying he was going to talk to his manager to fix it, but now he’s ghosting me. If I could give ADT customer service negative stars I would. Waiting on hold for 30+ minutes to finally get a person who either routes you to someone else or just hangs up on you. God help you if you are having an issue, it’ll take a week for a tech to come out and they won’t fix the issue. My system has been going haywire when set on away because the motion sensors are bad, but he didn’t change them when he came “because the tests say their fine”. I wish I’d never had ADT installed in the first place. It’s been a complete nightmare.

We had issues with a flood sensor. We called to make an appointment at where we were given a virtual appointment instead of a technician coming to the house. We had to reschedule another appointment. When the technician came he did not have the sensor. He called his manager and the manager said he would credit us 2 months. The manager never put it in the system. We canceled our Saturday plans for a new appointment and guess what happened? The technician was double booked and had to come on Sunday instead. So not only were we lied too but we had to cancel our weekends plans. We foolishly signed a three contract! The billing woman told me to write a letter.

Literally the worst service ever. There is a fundamental lack of coordination and care that you'd expect from any modern business. Every call with them that I've had has been routed to other people multiple times. After months of trying to get in touch with Ackerman (and then ADT), they confirmed I had asked to cancel my account (this is in their own notes), and they still had an active account. I asked them to call me so that I could cancel my service - Someone called me and then immediately *transferred me to another person for a 40 minute wait.* Insanity. After that, I was transferred again to someone who was supposed to walk me through how to disconnect my own service so that it wouldn't cause problems. They hung up on me at this step. Did I get a call back afterwards? Of course not. I can not advocate against starting service with ADT more. It's a Hotel California situation.

Worst service I've even experienced
Worst service I've even experienced. I have only been a customer for less than 2 years and have had issues with the doorbell camera since the day it was installed. I am on my 2nd doorbell camera that hasnt worked since April. I have been on the phone with customer service for over an hour because I refuse to pay for a service or to again replace ADT's bad products. Switching to ADT was the worst mistake, I cannot wait until my contract is up.

Your customer service and troubleshooting people are rude and provide no assistance Now I have to pay a $59 dollar service call charge to have someone come and look at a doorbell camera that hasn’t worked for over a month! Absolutely the worst experience trying to get someone to help. ADT is the worst!!!

Charging me final bill plus 3 month service fees after cancellation
I cancelled with them on 4/22/22 after using 15 years. I confirmed the service was completley cancelled on 5/22/22. They billed me final bill $19.72 (5/15/22-5/22/22) plus $209.60 (5/15/22-8/15/22). So I contacted them several times about this matter. All they can say I have to pay for 3 month services which they don't provide anymore.

The sales lady that came to my house…
The sales lady that came to my house was great. Installer also great. Less than 3 months of service one camera goes out. 2 hours on the phone climbing ladders... finally resolved. 10 days later..same problem.. have called them 3 days in a row..recording EXTENSIVE hold time. When you do get through customer service is a joke. I contacted the sales lady I called great ..her name is Rachelle. Let's wait and see if I hear back from her. Picking adt was one if the worse decisions I have ever made! If there is any possible way to get out of this contract I hope I can find it!

Anybody want to help me call the news! Regarding.. *Camara that work 3 weeks that I have had 6+ months! Has any one ever got a response from alwaysthere … with a resolution? The response to everyone complaints is generic. Who do they think they are fooling! We should all get a class action suit and sue the hell out of ADT! Also let’s contact the news! We seem to basically all have the same complaint!
