Almost 3 years ago I "upgraded" my ADT system, and ever since then the WiFi enabled control panel keeps losing power. Now the old panel I had for 9 years before I decided to "upgrade" worked flawlessly, was plugged into the same electric outlet this new panel is plugged into and now every time a tech comes out (every 6 months for the past 3 years) they try to tell me there is a short in the electric outlet? Really because the lamp that is also plugged in there works every time I turn it on, though the ADT panel can't seem to keep power.
Their new equipment is not up to the same standards and I really wish I had not spent the additional $1200 three years ago to "upgrade" to a system that does not work. Ready to cancel the whole thing, have them take all their equipment out of my house and I'll go with another company. Because paying the $70 per month for this garbage is not worth it.

An adt tech came and installed a transformer into my garage that blew out my power and caused electrical issues, and adt refuses to pay for it. Though they acknowledge that it was their tech who installed the incompatible transformer. On top of that, I have received awful customer service. I had a tech who scheduled an over the phone appointment with me to troubleshoot my doorbell alarm and he never called me. Secondly, I had a supervisor who said they were going to call me within an hour (and like the tech), they also never called until the very next day. I missed their call due to it being an unknown number and guess what happened? They never called me back. After calling customer service yet again, and being put on hold for at least 30 minutes, I was told that I would have a service appointment set for 3 weeks out. Guess what? The guy didn’t show up!!! I had to call customer service and they said they could get someone out within the next 15-20 minutes. I’m currently waiting for the tech who may or may not show up. I will be canceling ADT the first chance I get. Don’t ever, ever, get this service.

all round terrible experience with ADT. Enormous installation cost. Endless calls in the middle of the day and night saying the alarm is ringing - when it isn't. So many that our key holders now ignore the calls, assuming it's a mistake. Problems with entry panel battery - needs a call back to replace, no help video online. Can't ever get through quickly on the phone and when you call you're encouraged to call back later unless it's urgent - an alarm company should be easily contactable. Used lockdown as an excuse for poor service, now using end of lockdown as an excuse of poor service!! really bad. If it weren't for the high cost of installation for a new system I'd have been gone long ago.

I had new system installed and garage motion detector did not operate while using home stay. Only way to do it was to select away custom and bypass livingroom motion so we could be home but could not enter basement in this mode or alarm would sound. Tech could not figure out and also any time we try to exit home after setting alarm on any door other then garage it would immediately trip. We called them and weeks later finally new tech came only took couple minutes to program properly and it worked. But unfortunately ADT charged us 150$! Without consent from us. I have called after waiting the 2 day period for call back no luck. Today they finally answered my call but they say we are responsible to pay for their mistake! Horrible experience! DO NOT USE ADT! I have spent about 2 hours on phone so far and still waiting for call back again. We asked the second tech and they had said no charge because it was their mistake. Frustrating and unethical service!

Today I cancelled my services with ADT after discovering the company charged me an amount I had not agreed to! I strongly believe its in the best customer's interest that they need to be contacted prior to increasing monthly payment! For 4 years I made my payments on time as required and I was aware of charges. After speaking with a couple of ADT account services staff and trying to explain my situation to them, they refused to refund my $ 63.00 to me! So I cancelled my services on principal! It is hard for me to fathom the concept that as big as ADT is and they claim to be on " customer service" they would choose to lose a loyal customer for $ 63.00!
I give fair warning to any current ADT customers that ADT can and will increase your monthly fee and not choose to refund you!

ADT is terrible to deal with. DO NOT EVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. It took us 2 hours to set up a service appointment for a simple sensor replacement. Their reps kept making mistakes, requiring us to call back to their ‘service’ number with outrageous wait times. One rep even hung up on us.
When we finally arranged an appointment (at the correct address), we waited SIX HOURS for the tech to show up. He then said we HAD to sign their electronic contract authorizing the replacement, before he could replace our inop sensor. We told him the contract was incorrect (it said we agreed to a monthly rate increase), we had sent multiple emails asking for the contract to be corrected, and that we couldn’t sign it because he was just replacing a sensor, not adding equipment to our installed system.
The tech made two calls to ADT managers and was told it was
not possible to correct their ‘docu-sign’ contract, since it was 6:00 pm, etc. SO HE LEFT WITHOUT MAKING THE REPAIR, AFTER WE WAITED 6 HOURS!
ADT is a disaster to deal with. Their call centers are staffed with untrained or incompetent employees (if they’re even employees), they don’t care how long you’ve spent on hold, and they have absolutely NO authority to make decisions or address problems.
Worst Service Ever! Withholding my money from me!!
Over the past few months I have been provided with the worst customer service ever with ADT. They auto-drafted over $400 from my checking account with no notice whatsoever and have passed me around to several different reps over the past few months all who were not helpful and all who told me false information. They still owe me almost $700 back and continue to treat me like I don't matter at all. I have documentation and proof of all this and they continue to tell me they will "see what they can do" and never resolve anything or get me my money back. This poor service has been going on since July. I will never ever ever use them again and will advise everyone I can speak to to stay away from them unless they like their money to be taken from them and withheld without reason, help, or a solution.

ADT keeps over charging me because of cancelled account that was closed four mouths ,,and won't come to the new location set up the adt system to the new wifi my shop has been broken in to and ATM was broken in to looks like they took there time since no alarm was set, thank you ADT for your service .maybe youll get back with me now I been on hold now 30min while giving you a review account managers this is the 10th time on hold for over 20min time with no service since October ..just about to give up and cancel ADT. Installed but battery problem not fixed. Tech service delayed and delayed and again delayed. Never call customer service ; one lady over there sighed and sighed explaining what to do.
Stay away from this company if you can. Use your local company!!
Our system was installed end of July
Our system was installed end of July. Never worked properly since installed. Runs out of video shots so we have no protection at least one week in 4. Sick of complaining.. Cancelled direct debits hoping they will call. Nothing. Phoned so many times lost count and have to wait at least 20 minutes for answer. No direct line for complaints keep saying email. Want system taking out and paid money returned. Very unhappy. Wouldn't recommend. Customer service rubbish

Terrible customer service! DO NOT WASTE TIME WITH THIS COMPANY! If you try to end your relationship with them, they will strong arm you, and add a bunch of fees unless you sign up for a 36 month contract!
BEWARE OF ADT:::We had adt installed for 7 months and…
We had adt installed for 7 months and it never did work. Finally the 3rd person that came to check it said equipment should never have been installed as we live in a area with no cell service which is how system transmits. He took equipment we paid cash for from our home when he left and told us we would get our 1741 dollar refund within 2 weeks. 1 month later we contacted adt after they billed our credit card again and charged a service call to it as well. We were told it was never canceled so they were going to repay us 241 dollars then later texted there was a problem with our refund. Credit card was contacted and they put a stop of adt charging us under fraudulent means. Contacted BBB then ADT said they were canceling our contract and would receive our $1700 in 1 month and that was about 7 weeks ago. Contacted ADT again then they told us again they would process our refund and it would take 30 days to get a refund again. This has been going on since August and this is now November 29th. 4 months fighting for a $ 1744 refund they have said they owe us and I am 65 years old and on social security. I really hope my family gets what is owed to us in time to pay my funeral expenses but highly doubt it based on their customer service so far. Beware of this company as our credit card company told us they are very familiar with ADT business practices.
Terrible Alarm Response & Customer Service
We’ve been with ADT in the UK for several years for a dual path monitored home alarm. The annual fees have continued to rise but the service responsiveness has dropped hugely. We’ve not been able to get them to perform the annual service on the system (even though we are paying for this), getting a change to the alarm to allow digital voice circuits to be used for the monitoring has been impossible and in the last few days when we have had a fault with the alarm it’s been taking 30 mins+ to get any response from the alarm contact centre. Last night when the alarm went off at 2340 they didn’t even follow up with a call to the house. Terrible service and we will be changing provider as soon as is possible.
ADT - useless service …
Have been a customer for several years since they have changed their call centre I have been unable to contact them even to pay an outstanding bill! Recently unsuccessfully tried to contact them due to a fault. Cancelled my contract by email still waiting for a reply. Would not recommend ADT UK.
Worst company I've ever dealt with
Worst company I've ever dealt with. I've cancelled my contract and have been left with useless equipment that I paid for, even though they stated it would keep working but without being monitored. Avoid at all costs, unless you enjoy talking to heatless customer service reps.

Been a loyal ADT customer for over 10 years. This last year has been nothing but HELL dealing with their faulty products and being double charged 3 times in the last 8 months. When calling in for customer service employees are RUDE and have hung up on me several times when I ask to speak to a supervisor. I'm absolutely disgusted with how ADT has treated me this past year. I will be taking my business elsewhere and would highly recommend anyone to NOT USE ADT! They are a horrible company. Don't give them your business!

I would like to say this company really likes to screw you over. I go from paying 63 dollars a month to 1600 dollars on a holiday and sends my account negative bc they thought I was canceling my service. I am going to call my lawyer and I will being suing for more money now bc now I have overdraft fees to pay for. Bc they too it out there saying that there nothing they can do about it for 4 days.

Do not go with this company. I paid my equipment off early and now owe just as much as I paid for the equipment due to early cancellation. At first appearance ADT looks great but do not let that fool you. I was told by the tech there were no early cancellation fees. I did not read the contract because I trusted the tech. Big mistake. So unhappy with this company. ADT just responded to this review. Here is the deal. When I paid my stuff off and have to pay over 2/3 of the equipment cost for the early termination something is wrong. $2300 for early termination fees. This should tell you something about this company. AGAIN I WILL SAY THIS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WILL USE EVERY OUTLET I CAN TO GIVE BAD REVIEWS.

Absolutely worst service and DANGEROUS if you depend on home alarm service. My house flooded. I called ADT. My code works (I use it every day) but with ADT on the phone they “helped” me set a temporary passcode so workmen could access house. Although my regular code works, they must have tried 20 time, but the system would not issue a temp pass code. Then they told me that there would be a HIGH EMERGENCY CHARGE to fix the pass code! They agree it is the fault of ADT equipment. Not only that, they couldn’t do the emergency visit to fix same day and I must leave the house tomorrow as I can’t breathe in here. I did not cause this failure. THEY OBVIOUSLY SET UP THE BOX WRONG YEARS AGO. I never needed a temp code before now, so some 20 years of being a customer here and in two other houses, I can’t get help and my house will be unprotected. I an 75, disabled, and have nobody to help me. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THE EMERGENCY CHARGE OF THE FAILURE OF THEIR EQUIPMENT AND NO HELP. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ADT HAS 75% NEGATIVE REVIEWS. ADT provides poor service as an alarm company, installs faulty equipment, fails to replace equipment that is outdated (for poor performance) and will not accept calls for cancellation. For most of the years since the contract went month to month ADT has not been serviceable for one or another defects.
I tried for nearly 3 hours today to get to the "cancellation" personnel and each time plays out with a couple of transfer from division to division until a dead end. It goes something like this: "sorry sir, I don't handle that but I will transfer you to___"; the next transfer site goes through the same thing. When, after 15 min to 1 hour, I land at the correct place to cancel, I am put on hold for around 20 minutes at which time ADT just hangs up.
I plan to contact the state Attorney General and I have filed a BBB complaint about behavior. If this behavior does not constitute a scam or fraud, it is at the very least, foul treatment of customers.

Terrible experience. I’ve easily spent 30-40 hours of my life trying to get my security service set up and still six months later am paying for absolutely nothing. Still they will not let me out of a signed three year contract. Do not engage with ADT.
