I was one of the Unfortunates that had my Nest Secure cancelled
I was one of the Unfortunates that had a Nest Secure system that was cancelled, forcing me to convert to ADT. Thanks to their corporate decision to obsolete a good system I had installed for over 8 years, two of my properties are now without an alarm system. Although they did send me more than $400 worth of ADT replacement parts, their self-install system is really bad. Many bugs in the setup: Only works with 2.4 GHz, you may have to open an additional port, etc. Have fun if you have an eero wifi system or any other 5GHz or dual frequency system! I'm an IT guy and even I couldn't figure it out Customer Service is also bad - Long waits, Agent had heavy accent, hard to understand, scheduled service call never came through although I took the morning off from work to receive it, etc. Bottom Line: Their equipment may be good, but for a company with their experience, their current account administration & service really stinks...

If you're thinking about getting ADT…
If you're thinking about getting ADT you better have second thoughts it's almost impossible to cancel your service I've been trying for 5 months I unplugged my 5 months ago and still can't get them to cancel the service but it's the first call I get in the morning and last call I get at night to pay her they're going to cancel my service but it hasn't even been plugged into the wall

Made monthly payments on time and I refused to sign up for auto pay. I told ADT that I wanted to pay my account monthly and that I was not going to give them access to checking account. ADT started making harassing phone calls and so I cancelled my contract with them and told them to come and get their equipment. ADT then charged me $3,000.00 for cancelling my contract. Outrages. I will never do business again with ADT.

Promotion Program Default/No Loyalty to Long Term Customer
Good Evening, I'm very disappointed with ADT Company. The company say they have a friend/family referral program that I recommend 2different individuals at 2different times to adt, call to inquire about my $200.00 gift card and in both instances adt defaulted on my gift cards with explanations that should have been given upon asking about the program prior to me making my referrals. Up until October of 2023 I held 4 different accounts with this company, currently 3 and have been with this company over 10yrs. Myquestion now become is this the type of promotion you offer is it real or not??? Also is this the way you treat your long term customers. Just food for thought 🤔

THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. THEY CHARGE MONEY TO SEND TECHS OUT TO FIX AN ISSUE. WE HAVE TO PAY THEM AND FIX THEIR PROBLEMS. OUR CAMERAS HARDLY WORK. THE DOORBELL CHIME BUZZING. CUSTOM SERVICE SUCKS. THEY CALL YOU TO TROUBLESHOOT WE'RE NOT WORKING AT ADT AND PAYING Y'ALL.. THIS COMPANY JUST TAKING MONEY. TALKING OVER YOU, SYSTEM IS COMPLICATED. BEWARE PEOPLE, I CAN GO ON AND ON

Impossible customer service
Can't log in to MyADT because it wont take my passwords, and it wont send me a password reset via email. I also can't remember my verbal password so it's impossible to access anything. I called and the guy walked me through everything as if I was extremely dumb which resulted in me staring at a login screen which I can't log into. They won't just reset my password, and they've increased the monthly payment twice now. I want to cancel, too but it's a whole ordeal and I'm stuck in this contract for two years now.

Customer Service is terrible !!!
poor customer service ....Ive called 3 days in a row, sat on the phone for at least 1-2 hours a day jus to get a install to my new place. They transferred me to 5-6 agents to tell the same story over -over-over -again....I still dont have service .....Im over 50 years old so i guess they changed the way they handle business

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever! The sales man was excellent, then the technician came the following day and we had to literally throw him out of the house . Rudest person we've dealt with. He trashed the salesman, kept insisting he go upstairs to assess things. We told him we didn't need anyrhing done there,we only wanted what was agreed on. He wouldn't listen to us at all. How they can keep sending this guy out is beyond me. Two friends described him and said they both had the same experience. Wise up ADT

ADT is awful when it comes to Costumer Service
They are unbelievably slow and inefficient. Spend hours over the phone and all they could do was passing me from one department to another. It’s like they hired the least knowledgeable people with least experience and asked them to answer the phones. Their system definitely is inefficient and not working. Their security system might be good, but horrible costumer service experience I had. Even talked to several account managers and they also were the same, passing the hot potato to the next person.

This company is absolutely horrible…
This company is absolutely horrible never sign up with them. Their service is impossible to cancel. The phone agents openly lie about their ability to cancel things and claim they need to send you to another department. Then they basically hope you will give up after a couple hours on hold. Their price has increased steadily for the past several years and it is flat out not worth it anymore. When exploring security companies overlook this one and go another you will be doing yourself a bit favor.

It has taken over an hour and many people of heavy accents. That refused to slow down. I am old and it takes me awhile to comprehend. I need my camera to record at 30 feet which I was assured it would do. The phone was disconnected several times. Issues are still not addressed.

So much for loyalty
So much for loyalty! We installed ADT around 3 yrs ago. Two cameras kept failing and after many phone calls it never got resolved. We added two more cameras which are Nest cameras and have never failed. They refuse to swap out the ADT cameras to Nest when our records clearly show all the calls to resolve faulty cameras. Now they want me to renew contract! Absolutely not! I have paid for services every single month and now you won't make things right to keep my business? Shame on you! No wonder reviews are bad! BTW they asked for $1000 to swap cameras! They claim they have to send electrician! What??? The ADT installer wired it all to begin with! It isn't a wiring issue it's cameras that don't record! UPDATE! GOT A REPLY FROM ADT ABOUT REVIEW! THEY GAVE ME AN EMAIL THAT DOESN'T EXIST! TOLD ME TO SEND SCREENSHOT OF REVIEW ALONG WITH THEIR REPLY. WOW! UNBELIEVABLE! NOT RENEWING CONTRACT! BAD BUSINESS ETHICS!

Bad service today
Had ADT for several years. They had been good overall. However, I had a recent faulty carbon monoxide detector, and they sent me a new one. Tried to get a rep on the phone to help me set it up. Tried several times to get a scheduled time, but they were difficult to reach. Called and spoke with a supervisor and she was horrible. Told her that I am looking for a new alarm company and hung up on her. The supervisor did nothing to help me. She gets an F minus

ADT security is a scammer liar company
ADT security is a scammer liar company. They made me sign for a 3 year deal contact without informing me about it at all. I had no idea what I was signing for. They never told me that I had multiple options such as 12 months contract, which I would have chosen. I completed a year and now they want me to pay one thousand dollars in order to cancel the contract.

We were moving and our agent William from Lafayette Louisiana said if we got the new owner of our home to use take over our ADT that we would get a $200.00 gift card and would not be charged a penalty for early termination . Well Mr. William lied about both those promises . Not only did I not receive a gift card but ADT charged me over $500.00 for early termination fee . And William has not tried to call ADT to drop those charges . He is a liar so don't be a fool like I was . I will never use ADT again .

Don't Convert from Google Nest to ADT +
Google Nest users are being cancelled. ADT claims that their equipment will interface with the old Google Nest equipment. Don't waste your time and money no matter what ADT tells you it will not interface. You must buy all new 2nd generation equipment. In my case it is cheper to buy other brands that go with ADT. I had to make 4 phones calls just to get my money back.

The Worst Case Scenario
Issue 1: My house was burglarized in January and the burglars destroyed the alarm panels. When ADT came out to replace the same panels that failed, I asked if they sold a hard-wired system, one that was less likely to fail. They still sell them. One of their techs said that I would have to hardwire my house to support power and communication between all panels. If I did that, he would return with these panels and new alarm system. So, I hired an electrician to hardwire my house. But when the next ADT tech came out, he told me he didn't have hardwired panels, only the same ones I had before. I refused to have that installed because I would still be required to pay full price to replace my old system panels that failed, and I had already invested almost $1200 to hardwire my house. When I spoke to the next ADT manager about this problem, he discouraged me from getting a hardwired system, but I explained that the last ADT specialists had instructed me to hardwire my entire house. This was done as required by one of their employees. In all, they sent 3 techs to my house and each with a system noncapable of being hardwired. If they are only able to install the same wireless system that failed my house, I at least expect them to reimburse me for the cost of hardwiring my house because it was done as required by one of ADT’s specialists. I made 9 requests for ADT to install a new alarm system. Each call, they tell me that a manager will address my concerns and I will receive a call within 48 hours. They never call back, they never installed an alarm, and I am still being billed. Up to this month, I was still paying my monthly bills hoping we could resolve this conflict. I no longer think that, so I disable my easypay with ADT today. Issue 2: ADT salesman, Andre, lied to me when I enrolled. I was told that when I signed a new contract he would roll over my account from my previous residence in order to avoid paying the early cancellation fee and paying the charges for what was left on my old account. I had explained that I had already had problems with ADT and that because of their lack of communication with my old insurance, one they had merged with, they could never figure out where I was supposed to pay in order to resolve a dispute, regardless of the fact that they had easypay and billed me monthly. In order to sign, he told me he would have someone in accounting approve it. He said it wasn’t ever a problem. I found out today that this was never done and that they had continued to charge my credit card monthly. He never closed or merged the accounts like he said he would. Working with ADT has been the worst experience to date with any company. They are definitely corporate, and you are just a dollar sign to them. They are unapologetically bad.

This company is a joke. If you need a problem solve they will switch you to several numbers and each number you are switched to you got to hold for a hour and still don't get problem solved. Go somewhere else.

I am not sure if this company is completely incompetent or they pretend they are to screw you out of money. They have subcontractors or something and when I was to get ADT two different groups of these people reached out to me. I cancelled one of the two companies. They came and installed their equipment as they said they are ADT and we were expecting equipment installation. Then the other company came and installed theirs as well. They said it must be because we wanted more equipment and the other person couldn't do it all. We discovered their error after one month when we received two bills. We tried to cancel and return the equipment but they wouldn't as it was over 3 days after installation so we were stuck with a bill for their equipment. Cost us a few thousand. Now I am also active duty and got to end the contract early with no penalty (by law) which made me very happy. I did everything they asked and they sent me a bill for $214 for a cancellation fee. They said they received none of my documentation but I have email records of them being sent it. I ended up putting a stop payment against them so they can't screw me over again. Cost me $20, but to stick it to them, well worth the money.

ADT admits fault but won’t fix the issue
I was contact by a sales rep to install the ADT security system in my home. I asked for cameras that record 24/7. He stated that ADT has never provided cameras that record 24/7, that they don’t make security systems like that for homes. With that being said, I purchased the security system under the pretense that I would never be able to get 24/7 recording cameras. Once the system and cameras were installed, I notice that the cameras will only record 30 seconds at a time while someone is in the frame. That means someone could still be in the frame and the camera would stop recording. I also noticed that when the WiFi gets disconnected, the cameras will indicate with a red light that they are not working. This can be seen from the outside of the house. Called ADT and Safe Haven to get this corrected. Safe Haven did not have a solution since it was ADT who sold me the cameras. I was transferred about 5 different times to different departments when I tried to fix the issues. No one could give me a direct answer so I filed a complaint with the BBB. I just recently called ADT again. I was transferred around a few times until I spoke with a sales rep named Victoria. Victoria acknowledged that the original sales rep who lied to me about the availability of a 24/7 recording system was in the wrong and should not have done that. She also acknowledged that the 30 second recording limitation and the red lights indicating the camera is not working was a security risk. She stated that there was nothing ADT could do about their mistake. She admitted it was ADT’s mistake. I updated my BBB complaint with my most recent interaction. The solution I want is to remove my 4 Safe Haven outdoor cameras and my safe haven doorbell camera and install the Google cameras that can record 24/7. I should not have to pay for the new Google cameras as I already paid in full for the entire system I currently have. I am more than happy to pay more for the subscription premium to received the 24/7 recording but I will not play for the hardware. In summary, I was lied to about the cameras and the security risks associated withy the cameras by an ADT sales rep. I tried to fix the issue multiple times. Another sales rep (Victoria) admitted to the mistake of the company but stated ADT will not do anything to fix the problem and that there was not a single other person to speak to about the problem. I have updated the BBB with all of my findings.

Worst company in history
Horrible company. Worst customer service of any company. They scammed me multiple times. They charge people 500$+ for the service just for holding the equipment , even when the service has not been set up and is not being used. All of their agents repeatedly lied and frauded me. The sound of the alarm is such a low volume, can barely be heard. Had a dozen outages of their service in the first month. ADT steals peoples bank account information charging hidden fees totaling hundreds of dollars a month extra. Very shocked how this company is still in service.

adt sucks......lying virtual claims to call & they never did...adt claims there will be a phone number to contact for help in installing sensor and that was a lie.....was forced to buy a another sensor after someone broke in and there tech price is a rip off......they claim self help is easy and it was not.....they assume everyone is a know it all and some people when it comes to technical b/s it is over whelming but bottom line is ADT REPS ARE LIARS
