BUY A RING SAVE $$
A ring door bell will do the job. I’ve had ADT for 10 months and I have yet to see the benefit. Something is always wrong. Previous tenants are in the account, all breaks are not abled and not being fixed. Codes can’t be changed after multiple tries. BUY A RING SAVW YOUR MONEY! $10,000 I’ll never get back. Not to mention, customer service is awful and technicians cost additional for technical defaults. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

No alarm system 2 days rude Manchester…
No alarm system 2 days rude Manchester staff office. Spoken to like a criminal. Advised engineer refused to attend as my home is dangerous. I am a nurse saving lives Grahame should not be a team leader poor customer service. The thanks i get for saving lives need rest at night knowing alarm works no panel 2 days. Might go to Verisure.

Fraud. Extortion. Forgery!
This company scams! Be very careful of any service agreements with them. They are charging me a "cancelation fee" on a contract that I never signed - it's docu-signed and misspelled! That's after 15 continuous years of being their customer. The employees don't know the actual policies and laws governing alarm service either and you get a different story depending upon with whom you speak. Kiesha - account manager - rude! Tried to negotiate a "break even" for them. Gustavo, ID33912, was absolutely no assistance. They tow the company line with zero concern for customers. Be aware!

ADT is terrible and extremely unethical
ADT is terrible. After a 3 year contract I cancelled them. They continued to send invoices. I called them and told them I cancelled the service. They transferred me to some other person, again I told them I cancelled the service. They started with discounts and I told them no, I canceled the service. They sent me to 3rd person and I told them I cancelled. They again tried to sell me a discounted plan. I said no. This happens every month when I call them for about 30 minutes as they continue to send invoices. This in their tactic to keep you on and send you invoices. They threatened to send the open invoices to a bill collecting service. They finally told me the service is cancelled after 4 months of 30-minute calls and they have a 30 day cancelation policy. So they are tiring to get 4 extra months of invoices paid. This is the most unethical company is the US. DO NOT USE ADT.

Wish we had read the reviews. Nothing but a nightmare for the past year. Customer serviceis terrible. Charged for cameras that haven't and cant be fitted. Has been a mess. Super unhappy

It started with the smoke alarm
My smoke alarm went off for no apparent reason at midnight. When I tried to call ADT's number, the connection would ring twice, then disconnect. This happened 5 times. The fire people came. They came into my house and none of us could read the display on the keypad because it was so dark. I finally figured out which smoke alarm was going off but I still didn't know why. I finally got in touch with ADT via a different number I found on the internet. The customer service person (who was very helpful-hence one extra star) said that maybe I should change the battery. She said that when I change the battery the alarm will go off and because it's a smoke alarm, the fire people will come. So I dismantled the fire sensor at ADT's service center so that I could change the battery (still not sure if that is the reason the smoke alarm went off, by the way). Then, I looked on the ADT website to see what kind of battery I should get for the smoke detector. The website kept bouncing me between two pages, neither of which told me what kind of batteries to get. I tried to "live chat" with someone but the button didn't work. So THEN I called customer service to see what kind of battery to get for the smoke detector and if I could get a brighter display on my keypad. I was transferred three different times to different customer service agents. Each time I gave all of my information. Apparently there is no way in the settings to make the display brighter. I was told I could have someone come out and replace the keypad for 300+ dollars and I would have a "smart" system integrated into Google, which I do not want. I am on hold right now. I just want my system to work, ADT. It seems like your whole deal is messed up.

ADT is absolutely the worst home…
ADT is absolutely the worst home security service you can get for your home. Better off buying and installing your own personal system because their service and equipment sucks. Don't waste your time and money.

Abysmal customer service
It is now three weeks since we first contacted ADT and during that time we have received two visits by an engineer with no resolution of the problem ( a faulty door sensor ) On several occasions the engineer has been booked but not only fails to turn up but does not have the courtesy to phone to say why he will not be attending. Communications between the office , the engineers & the customer is worse than dire. I am at loss to understand how this company is still in business.

More ADT is the Worst - Its Connection to Cell Towers
I have been having a recurring problem with ADT in the way it handles its Cell connections. If it can't find a Cell Tower your alarm will go off no matter the time. Mine went off at midnight last night. This is the 3rd time in 3 days or so and ADT's reaction is that it isn't their problem. I need to work with the cell company. The problem is that the Cell tower isn't one from my company. My alarm is worthless because I won't turn it on at night knowing it will go off if there is a cell outage. Since this has happened so many times recently I am not going to risk another night's sleep. I'm now paying for something worthless due to a fault of ADT - the alarm shouldn't sound if the Cell Tower goes off. Of course, to get help from ADT you have to wait through a 20-40 minute hold. They won't take responsibility for this problem, they are blaming the Cell towers. Well, that is stupid if they know it is a problem, they need to fix their system so it won't wake people up in the middle of the night just because a Cell tower that doesn't even belong to their Cell company is going off. I want to drop my service with ADT but like a fool, I just resigned from an excessively long 5-year contract. I'm now stuck for 5 years with a service I can't use. They are the worst company. To recap - ADT relies on Cell Service, if any Cell Tower it tries goes down your system will sound waking you up. If you try to call for help you will be put on hold for 20 minutes or more. They then blame the Cell company but will at least walk you through clearing the problem if you are lucky. I now know how to clear the problem, but I don't want my alarm going off in the middle of the night so I won't turn it on. I've just got the world's ugliest piece of art because I'm not risking another night's sleep. They have got to change their system not to sound when the Cell Towers go down. They have to fix the excessive hold problem and they have to release me from a contract I was bribed into signing. I was a fool and every day live to regret it. ADT is a horrible company with a horrible system, horrible customer service, and unethical business practices. If their system isn't working for me, they should release me from my contract. It isn't working for me because I won't use it for fear of having it go off if a Cell Tower won't ping.

More headaches than peace of mind
This is my second year into the contract with ADT. First year, no issues. This year has been a nightmare. My cameras are constantly malfunctioning. Technicians have been out here twice. The cameras work for a couple of days and then they are off again. If you call, expect to be on hold for an average of 20 minutes. The chat is completely useless as the help they can provide is minimum. The email assistance is worthless, as they send basically a copy of what is in the troubleshoot section of their website. If you need help, they will give you an appointment for a call with a technician, which can be several days down the road. In the meantime, you are still paying for no service. This is the worst company I have dealt with.

ADT customer service has been useless
ADT customer service has been horrendous. I have not been paying attention to their reviews lately. Due to recent system issues and lack of customer service, I had to look them up and get an update if anyone else was experiencing similar issues. What’s the point of having a call back appointment service if I have to wait for over 5 minutes once connected or forwarded to a line that was for my call back? Who knows how much longer I had to wait for an agent, but enough is enough. I’m cancelling ADT after I find a better home security service company. Let’s see how long that’s going to take.

Run around while canceling.
I would of gave them a better rating but the run around they give you when canceling the service is crazy. I got transfered around atleast 6x or more. I believe they do this so you stop payment so they can charge you a late fee on top of the payment it's a shady practice that even planet fitness does. Good news after two hangups and 3 hours of being on hold i was able to cancel my account, it took the representative only 10 min to do...

This is the worst company in the world. They take your money and then do nothing for you. The support is the worst. They used to be good before all of the acquisitions but now you just can't work with them at all or get any kind of reliable service.

ADT is non-responsive
ADT is non-responsive. You can't get through on the phone for anything except sales. I'm not even sure they are answering the line for if your alarm is going off. When I first became a customer they were awesome, but you can't get an answer to a phone call in under 40 minutes most of the time. I was going to cancel because this is awful service and they bribed me to stay with a lower price. Boy do I regret that decision. No amount of saved money is worth the complete and total lack of service they provide. If you need a technician it could be 3-5 days or more and of course they charge for visits the only company I know of that does that. Ignore the good reviews - something bad has happened here and until it gets fixed try something like Front Point or Simpli Safe.

Who the hell writes these replies???? OH NO, We are so TERRIBLY sorry. ETC. These clowns only compound the exasperation and frustration of all customers and clients! The writer must be laughing their assess off and saying to thmselves, "wow another sucker, HAHA". If you FELONS had any decency people would not be leaving ALL one star experiences, and many wish to leave NO or Negative stars. Now ADT felons, WHY do you think that is? Come on now use your criminal brains on that one!

ADT is the worst alarm system ever, to get a person from customer service you better sit, watch a 2 hour movie get some drinks thennnn they will pick up only to tell you oh ok I will transfer you now what!!!!! After waiting for 2 hours hell to da nah go with another company, also their techs are sloppy leaving cords all over for you to trip on, ooooh wait it gets better if you need service on your alarm guess what they charge you 55.00 to send their sloppy techs to see if they can fix the problem and guess what THEY CANT terrible terrible run forest run from this company

Terrible customer service
I have had a terrible experience with adt if you want to get the run around get wrong info from customer service. And charged 572 to cancel sub par service use them but I will never use adt again

Make that minus a million stars times…
Make that minus a million stars times 10. On top of the awful experience 2 days ago, yesterday I got eMails trying to correct what had been done. I explained that I had a 5:00 PM appointment and I was chastised saying that ADT only does appointments in blocks of time. I asked them to check the phone call and to my surprise they actually did and admitted that they made a mistake. How big of them! I’m so fed up with ADTs disgustingness that I told them to just let the contract that I stupidly signed run out and then that will be that. Nobody showed up at 5:00 PM of course but I did get a phone call at 3:30 from some guy asking me where I was. He said that he didn’t work at 5:00 PM. These are the people protecting our homes and lives. ADT is terrible, awful, disgusting, disgraceful, malicious……

Very disappointed with ADT
I am very disappointed with ADT. I have been trying to call to cancel my account for the last month and have been on hold for over 3 hours. Every time I tell them what I want to do, they conveniently shut the phone or lose connection. I have been transferred between multiple people and departments and it is SUPER frustrating. I am now reporting them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Beware of this company.

This company makes it extremely difficult to cancel service. They keep transferring you so you will be discouraged and give up. Go with a company like Simplesafe, where monitoring costs a lot less.

I put one star because I can’t leave a…
I put one star because I can’t leave a review with zero stars. I spent hours on hold on three separate days trying to get a door sensor replaced. Customer service representatives are difficult to understand because English isn’t their first language, the hold time stretches to literally hours, and they sent me the wrong equipment trying to provide a do-it-myself fix. Today I’ve been holding for over an hour just to cancel their services. Obviously they have way too much business and don’t value or need mine.

Absolutely avoid this company
Absolutely avoid this company. They absolutely work hard to avoid providing any customer service. Our system hasn’t worked for years and we could not get a response. Kept trying to cancel account and they would put us on hold and keep putting us off until we hung up ~ which I am sure is their strategy. We had to turn credit card payment off and then They sent paper bills. Finally got note saying we have provided enough information for them to cancel account and they would approve cancellation in 30 days. We would receive a final bill. Outrageous! Avoid!

My wife just canceled our service with ADT after 10 years. Absolutely horrible customer service. Something has happened to this company and it’s not good. Wife was on hold for over an hour more than once in 3 days of attempting to get a rather simple problem fixed. Avoid this company.
