I had ADT installed in my business back in may. Within a month I has 2 break ins through a cinder block wall, I talked to ADT about vibration sensors being placed along that wall, they said that said that did no such thing. I called a local alarm company that day and was able to i stall it, it was the other company’s alarm that alerted me there was someone breaking in and was axle to catch them ADT is a worthless company

I have been on hold for over an hour today trying to cancel my services. I was able to speak to multiple representatives, but they all transferred me to different departments. While I was on hold, I was able to listen to conversations of other ADT customers, which included me hearing their secret word, address, phone number, etc. This is so unsafe and just WRONG.
I am cancelling because I have never been satisfied with the services, starting from the installment day. The kid that showed up to my townhouse for installation had no clue what he was doing and tried to chit-chat about nonsense instead of working. My alarm has gone off multiple times FOR NO REASON. It has caused me more stress than relieving anxiety.
I tried to cancel a few months ago, and that's when I was told that I signed a 3 year contract. I would not have signed a 3 year contract because I never planned on staying at my home for more than 2 years...
I will continue to call until I am able to cancel, but I will not be giving any important information over the phone until they fix their telephone issues.

The security camera was not functioning for almost four months due to a lack of service.
Our security camera had to be removed due to the roof installation. This happened this past summer. At that time, I have contacted our salesperson, xxxx xxxx, to let us know whether the camera can be possibly reinstalled free-of-charge (part of our contract was service fee) or would we need to pay for it. We have not scheduled an appointment at that time; we just agreed to stop by when he was in the area. Because that did not happen for a couple of months, October 16, 2020, I have sent a reminder email to Mr. XXXXX. He stated he would stop by as soon as he can. Around November 10, 2020, we have received a phone call from ADT to remind us that our contract is coming to an end and whether we would like to extend their services. I told the caller that we are still waiting to have our camera reinstalled. He (I did not get his name) checked our account, and he said that our service fee should cover the re-installation. At that time, we have scheduled a technician for re-installation. The technician came on 11/17/2020 (order number 105212561), examined the situation, and said that our fee does not cover re-installation. Besides, we can get a "whole new system installed for the money we would pay for the camera re-installation." He also said that the system we have is old and will no longer be serviced by ADT. (The system was installed in march 2018). At that time, I called Mr. XXXX, told him about the technician visit and what he said. Mr. XXXXX asked me to forward the work order document to him as a reminder to stop by to talk to us on 11/23/2020. He also said that the "whole new system installed for the same money it would take the camera to install)" is not true. I emailed him the information on 11/21/2020. Mr. XXXX has not shown to our residence as promised. Almost six weeks later, we still don't have the security camera installed, and no phone call came from Mr. XXXX or ADT itself.
ADT billing is predatory
ADT billing is predatory. They will scam you. They charge you in advance when you ask to cancel your service, even though you’re no longer under contract. I will never recommend ADT even to my worst enemy.

We have had ADT security in our home for decades. In addition to being way overpriced it seems you cannot power down the unit when you no longer want to continue service. Every year the unit's 10-lb battery needs to be replaced, and until it is replaced the system will incessantly beep at you until the replacement battery arrives. I spoke to customer service about this. Even though I no longer use ADT anymore they STILL have to send me replacement 10-lb batteries or the beeping won't stop! I'm not joking!! I told them to shut off the damn thing or tell me how to disconnect it at the power source. They tell me there's no way. I'd like to take a sledge hammer to the main unit and destroy the thing, but that would also damage the wall and frankly might not even work.
Never EVER get ADT installed. What an incredible nuisance this has been and continues to be.
A VERY BAD SERVICE
It's been almost one and a half months since I called in and requested to update the keyboard pad which was not working any more. I was promised that a technician would give me a phone call within 24-48 hours to schedule his visit. Nobody cared to call me. I called again and spoke with a lady at the accounting department. I Explained what was going on and she said she was going to give me credit for November. It is 27th of December now but nobody has called me yet. Very DISAPPOINTED after being a customer for almost 14 years. I don't want to have ADT's service. A VERY BAD SERVICE! ADT left my family and my house without protection for almost 2 months. If I could give a zero I would. The fact that Adt does not call your home unless the alarm goes off for one minute is absolutely ridiculous! I spoke with a supervisor named Roberta Belle and she hung up on me. The alarm just went off in the middle of the night and no one called. My family was so unnerved and they didn’t have the decency to call. I was a protection one customer for 25 years and Adt purchased them. Really after 25 years you hang up on me. Unbelievable and I am looking for a new service!!!
I see your canned response below. If you really wanted to make it right you would reach out to me. Again, a lot can happen in one minute and the fact that you do not call a customer to make sure everything is ok unless the alarm rings for over one minute is absolutely absurd. This is way too long and you should have called when the alarm went off in the middle of the night!!!
Also, I had to call back after being hung up on and the service rep could not make an appointment to have someone come out and review the faulty equipment. She said someone will call me Monday so let’s see if that even happens! I don’t trust ADT to protect my family.

If I could give a “0” I would. I had high respect for ADT UNTIL I became a customer. If only I read these reviews I would not be going through the headaches, frustration, disappointments, disrespect, lack of customer care and responsibility, and especially a lack of consideration. We had our services approx 14 months. From the beginning, the system was garbage. We had numerous calls and services done. The local technician always arrived smelling like alcohol and tried to cover the smell with gum or listerine (didn’t work). In the timeframe we had the system, it probably worked for a week. So we just said forget it and PRAYed that Our home isn’t vandalized. Needless to say, we have two USPS investigations pending and one police report filed for mail fraud...opened packages, mail thieves, etc. When the system was installed we were told that ADT systems doesn’t record. Without a video the police can’t do anything. Leading to my conversation of terminating my contract with ADT! Talked to a customer service representative and explained my issue. No remorse at ALL. She said I needed to pay $1500 to get out of my contract. I asked to speak to her boss and she said she is the boss and makes the final decision. I asked for the number to corporate HQs and she said she doesn’t have it. I said you are the boss and don’t have the number to corporate?!!!! She said yes! I said to her “Is this call recorded....please tell me that IT IS!” I later received a call from someone else.
My problem is..
1. Neither individual cared about my loss. I’m a business owner and frequently has packages delivered. I’ve lost hundreds of dollars due to theft
2. Neither individual asked or offered to provide a better service from ADT
3. All they were concerned about was not cancelling or receiving $1500!!!!! And to waive the fee they would have to send a technician out. The technician found “NUMEROUS” issues with how the system was installed and spent hours repairing a system that didn’t and hadn’t worked in a YEAR!!!!!’
Since I need to pay to terminate my services, I need a refund for the money I paid for a system that did not work as a result of ADTs technician?
The only positive thing I can say about ADT is the recent technician!!
ADT I recommend training your staff on Customer Care and Consideration! I also recommend that you worry less about a “Refund” and worry about how you take care of and talk to your customers.

ADT/TELUS failed royally to deliver
ADT/TELUS made big promises upon signing the contract but, royally failed to deliver afterwards. After almost three months into an upgrade installation that cost us well over $1000.00, our security system is still not in full operation. A key component is not working. They have given us many excuses & even had us purchase a WI-FI extender. Our WI-FI provider stated that we have fiber optic WI-FI & the highest speed available therefore, not the problem. Now, they are saying it would be a breach of contract if we canceled. What's the point of having & paying for a security system that doesn't work as intended? Totally dissatisfied with this ADT/TELUS & would absolutely NOT recommend it to anyone.

I renewed my existing 3 year for another’s 3 years (supposedly a loyal customer!!!!) I was promised the new LCD panel for free unfortunately that turned out to be a sales scam It was never installed and after numerous hours of multiple phone calls I was told it is not in the system and I need to pay for it !!!! I would really like to leave unfortunately I have to pay 75% of my remaining 3 year contract to get out that is another thing you should be aware of !!!

You can’t trust what you are told when you call ADT. The representatives are not well trained and well tell you anything to make a sale or get you off the telephone. I have been with ADT for 20 years and my son setup service with them and he was overcharged for outdated equipment. He had to move out of his home and was told by representative that he could end his contract if he added his equipment to my existing service. The was inaccurate and now is charged for ending contract early. Have spent over 8 hours trying to resolve issue only to be told more lies or getting charged more money. Can’t be trusted.
Someone from ADT responded to my review wanting me to reply to some email. But, what the person didn’t seem to grasp it the part in my review about spending over 8 hours on the telephone just to be lied to some more. How about someone from ADT management contact me.

If I could I would give these people a NEGATIVE rating. After updating bank info they still try to charge the old account.they are rude. They are absolutely unwilling to fix any issues you might have, they’re websites don’t work . You call customer service . One agent says you owe 50 dollars... the next agent you speak with 25 min later says you have a 50 credit.. THERE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. I’m seriously considering paying my remaining contract balance in full just so I never have to deal with this TERRIBLE company!!! Terrible company!!!

I have been an ADT For a total of 25 yrs 12 in Michigan and 13 in Georgia. I just bought a home and transferred services. A total unprofessional mess. They wanted to install more inexpensive equipment, not the equipment I had at my last home. Why would I want equipment that doesn’t work as efficient as what I’m paying for. But the worse is their customer service , after being transferred 5x and finally inquiring about upgrading my ring doorbell I was placed on hold for 24 minutes. I didn’t think it was a difficult question. I guess they didn’t care about a long standing customer or my money. Definitely researching a more better provider or a DIY security system w/o contract. What happened to customer service?????

I am a adt customer with an adt pulse account. Recently I ordered a chime Z wave device, however I wasn’t able to add it using the manage device tab in my settings, so I called adt for over the phone tech support for the Z wave however the support tech wasn’t able to fix the problem over the phone. She stated that she could send someone out to help. I asked if there would be a charge and she stated that the changes would be waived and that there would be no charge. I believe she said that the $25 charge would be waived. When the tech came out a few days later October 14 2020. He tinkered with my doorbell and then was able to get the chime to work but only got it to work downstairs. It only worked once upstairs in my bedroom, which was where I wanted it placed. I gave up on the chime. Later I got a bill for $631.00 for a service call. I immediately called ADT and complained and stated that I was told that there wouldn’t be a charged. The Z wave is supposed to be something that a customer should be able to add in the Manage devices tab in your settings. After calling to complain about the charges I was told that I wasn’t going to be charged the $631.00. I was relieved until I kept seeing the charge on my bill. I called about three more times and each time I was told that I wouldn’t be charged the $631.00 until I asked to speak to a manager, that was when the manager told me that the charge was for a service charge for wear and tear, at that time I was totally confused. The chime was ordered and I hadn’t had it but a few days. I was also told that my system was what was being referred to when stating “wear and tear”. I got my System December 2018. Today, December 21, 2020 I called because my doorbell camera is not working at all however my indoor cameras are. The tech support person that I spoke to today attempted to solve the problem but again wasn’t able to. She offered to send out a tech , but I don’t want to be ripped off again. I asked the phone tech what services did she show me as getting on October 14 2020 when the tech came to my home, she stated “a doorbell camera replacement. Go figure that? I supposedly had a doorbell camera replaced 2 months ago and now adt wants to send out a tech for another charge. I asked is two months considered “wear and tear”? She stated yes. Now not only do I not have the use of the chime that I ordered but I also don’t have the use of my doorbell camera. I recommend that nobody use adt services. My whole adt system didn’t cost $631.00 but one service call for assistance with a z wave did. ADT IS A TOTAL RIP OFF.

Honestly I wish I could give half star. First and foremost people; STAY away from ADT. Their service is trash and they know it that why they make it so hard for some of us who didn't know better to cancel. I have this for only two weeks and it crashed so many times that I asked to cxl, guest what! they told me I have to pay $1700 to cxl.

First I like to start with the installation person, I will not mention his name to respect his privacy, however he had very rude arrogant attitude, kinda got me sceptic weather or not I should go ahead with the 3 year contract. 🤔🤨The cameras I have installed outside my house are not the best in clarity and voice detection. The cameras tend to freeze and will not record anything which is obviously malfunction and in which case does not make me feel secured. Will I recommend the ADT security to any one? Absolutely NOT. Do your research first.

We moved into our new home after selling our old home. We cancelled our service for our old home. We were billed for services on our old home after we sold it. Then we were billed on an accelerated program for our new home. Over charged over a $100 in all. Customer services was not any help when I called. Basically saying nothing she could do. I would not recommend ADT to anyone. Plenty of other home security companies out there. ADT will overcharge you and their service is below average.

I am Disappointed with ATI called them to get an estimate on service because of local break INS in my area I am a Local business and I was concerned for my property Man said it wound be a free estimate but wanted $200 down on a credit card before the appointment I don't understand that so I Google reviews for ADT and will not be using them see for yourself?

Wish I could give them zero stars. Pushy salespeople who play on your fears. Couldn’t wait for our contract to end since we had zero use for the system. After three years, I called today to cancel. I was transferred to someone to do the cancellation. He kept asking why I wanted to cancel and kept trying to get me to sign on for more. When I told him that the ease of convenience of cancelling could effect any future decisions I have to use ADT again, he stated “it is not my job to make cancelling easy or convenient for you” then kept trying to sell me more. I just kept saying “I want to cancel” so the call ended in him yelling “you don’t have to keep saying that. I heard you the first time (evidently he didn’t). STOP SAYING YOU WANT TO CANCEL!” What should have been a quick phone call turned into a stressful fiasco. I think he finally realized he was on speaker phone and nobody could believe what they were hearing and he cancelled it. I will never, ever use them again. I was warned and didn’t listen.

Horrible company!!! They advertised one price and then try and come to your home and sell you a system for 9500! I had an appt which was to just put alarm in as I had been on the phone with ADT for over 2 hours going over windows, doors etc and was told it would take 2 hours as they were taking over a previous system. Guy showed up tried to sell me a system for 9500... when I said no, some kid who said he was a manager (Jared) showed up. Apparently this is a sub contractor to ADT who they need to get rid of. They could not finish the job installing after 8 hours of being in my home. Left the security panel hanging out of the door with all the wires exposed, never finished installing security in master bedroom zone. When I didnt want someone to come back that night as it was late, asked for them to come after Thanksgiving.. .Jared (the manager) said he would have to pull entire system out. I said fine take it out, then he came back and said that they would finish install when I called them back. They put this in as a finish product when it wasn’t. Charged me 26.00 for a technician to come out and fix what they did not finish and make sure that the wiring panel was fixed so my entire electrical system did not short out in my home. Now they are charging me an extra 7.00 for some maintenance plan I never agreed to have and I have to fight for this. The hours on hold to speak to someone about this was up to 2 hours waiting and no one getting on, or getting hung up on, disconnected and no resolution. DO yourself a big favor.... DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!! Was suppose to be a flat rate with them somehow in now on a contract for 3 years. Funny how that works.

I will never get ADT again or recommend it to anyone. Stay away is all I can say. I spent the evening on the phone getting passed from one person to another and the end result was “pay the $1200 or it will go to collections”. I was with ADT for 8 years. I had problems in my neighborhood and asked them to install a camera in the back and a doorbell camera. Unbeknownst to me I ended up in a 3 year contract!! I ended up moving out of the neighborhood due to the problems there and I’m renting where there is already a system and I can’t take it with me. I now have a $1200 bill that is due on receipt. They are even unwilling to arrange payments!!! If I knew I was going to end up with this mess I would never have installed those cameras. And I would have ditched them a long time ago.
