ADT Security System is the worst…
ADT Security System is the worst service anyone can get. I had ADT install a system here in my home and since it was installed the system has not worked since it was placed in August 2019.I have notify the ADT about the system not working and they kept sending technicians out to my home Four technicians to be exact and no one has been able to get the system working properly. However ADT has kept charging me $53.95 every month even though the system cannot be armed. I have spoken to customer service about thirteen times via telephone and they keep telling me that a manager will be calling me and no one has done so and today is March 16, 2020. I am so frustrated and disgusted with this company.

I posted on this site on the 21st january about the appalling lack of care my 83 year old mother had experienced from this company. This post seemed to have disappeared although ADT were very quick to respond. Tracy, from customer services, called me the next day and promised that the problem would be resolved and that an engineer would be out the next day to assess the work required to resolve the situation. She assured me that all work would be carried out at their expense. The following day, 23rd January, the engineer arrived. I called Tracy the following weed and asked when the work would be completed. Surprise, surprise, I have not heard a word since. I would give them 10/10 for saying the right things and 0/10 for their promise to resolve the matter.

Do not believe anything ADT promises, they are liar. I have my contract in January and the technician never completed. They said they don’t have the systems in stock and will take about 2 weeks to arrive, they never call back . I have to call the customer service and cancel it, end up I have to paid 75% of my contract . Is cost me $1508 for this trashy service . My lesson is for any one to think about going with ADT , do not believe anything they’re promised.

DO NOT BUY. the sales man came and sold us an alarm and cctv system, when the guy who came to fit it said that this isn’t a cctv system it’s just a camera that doesn’t record we cancelled it as it wasn’t what we wanted. The sales man then went on the call us 6 times offering us with a free camera with a sensor hounding us trying to get a sale. (As they don’t make money on the equipment they make the money on the monthly instalments) since then it’s been a piece of sh!t. The camera is probably about 5 megapixel you can’t even see reg numbers. It never works nor records or saves clips like it’s supposed to and it’s jammed on the same picture. The app is a joke never works always says box isn’t connected, doesn’t let you set. Also adt automates keeps calling saying our alarm is going off when it isn’t ringing all our family members worrying them. It’s never worked since we’ve got it and can’t wait to get rid of the piece of sh!t.

There really shouldn't even be a star I want to give you a negative -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for your terrible service. This is the worst company ever how many lives will you continue to put in danger all for a quick BUCK I receive adt in Sept from the beginning the sales rep lied to me I would receive door camera, camera's for the front and back of home all in the package deal. Well installation rolls around and the guys 40 mins. Late minus all the stuff the sales rep promised in his sales pitch. 1 indoor camera and my window and door sensors turned out to be 2 cheap family dollar door sensors. Oh and my alarm went off for a hour no call from Adt. No police show at my door, nothing. So I tried to call and cancel but got the run around for months so I myself will be filing a lawsuit and I haven't paid the bill I'm court ready

I have had are for over 14years. Never had any problems until almost 3years ago when I had a surgery and closed for 7weeks cut back on my bussiness and went using cell phone for contacts.so my son came to help me last month and he asked about the alarm system tools as far as I knew works fine I spoke with lady in November 2019about bill and she. Fixed problem I also had contact number changed she said everything was fine so we checked alarm March 5 2020 it went off for10 minutes no call no nothing so I called system hasn't worked in nearly 3 years when land line was taken out system stoped working no one called or contacted us in any way to find out why ....yet bank payment still being taken out for nearly 3years and system not even working ... Really show s how much they keep up your system ,lady at office said that they should have checked on it but they getting paid so no need to ....even when I spoke with lady in November nothing ever said that the system wasn't working ....so I paid for almost 3 years for nothing. This your business this is what you do, someone should have checked on this years ago to find out why this she me how close its watched. You knew it wasn't working and said nothing someone should have checked ...you didn't fail to get paid very disappointed and would never tell anyone to get adt.....14years!!!!!

Horrible customer service.....Cancelled my service in September 2019. Noticed monthly subscription charges from Sept to Feb, and they wont credit my credit card. I spoke with no less than 10 people there, having to retell my story each time.....Huge waste of time....STAY AWAY!

I was quoted a rate and a guaranteed a rebate and I received neither. I called customer service after I was charged out the wazoo and was told that I would have to pay $1400 to cancel my services because I did not cancel within the 3 days on installation even though it took significantly longer than that to become aware that the quoted price was not going to be honored. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU ARE PROMISED!!! This company is out to make money and not honor what they promise to there customers.

I am extremely disappointed with ADT. The actual product itself was great, delivered exactly as it promises and the techs that install are wonderful, but the customer service is AWFUL.
When we signed a 3 year contract for my apartment, we were told that it was easy to move the system to other apartments if I was to move and it would be free of cost. Then my apartment had an unexpected flooding, forcing me to move apartments within the week. When I called ADT to get a tech out to move the system, I was told that I was given an older brand of the system which is not portable and that to have that system cancelled and a new portable one installed in the new place I would be charged $136.08 and would have to self install it. Plus, they refused to uninstall it from the old apartment, as they say you are supposed to just leave it there.. when I cannot as my apartment would not allow that.
Nowhere in the contract does it state that there would be any fees associated with moving properties, which I pointed out to 6 different customer service reps and all they could say was "well, that's our policy". More over, every time I talked to a rep, they would tell me something different, some saying they would uninstall and reinstall for free, others saying they don't ever uninstall at all, and others refusing to talk to me at all about my service because my mom was the one who's name is on the contract (though she was in a coma and unable to make the calls herself at the time). Absolutely ridiculous. All in all, I had to pay $600 to cancel my contract (they require you pay 75% of what is owed) and $153.18 for them to come out and remove the old system (as they told me on the phone they would not tell me how to remove it on my own and cannot confirm or deny if it is unsafe to do so), ofcourse once the tech arrived he said its super easy to do and they never usually come and remove them because of that. Would have been nice if they could have just told me that ahead of time.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this company. Terrible customer service, they do not follow through with their promises and will trap you in contracts.

Terrible service, outdate kits, online support is a joke, if the alarm ever goes off it takes days of unhelpful customer support to get it to work again, app is very poor and does not integrate with home automation at all... I would be long gone if not locked into a contract

I signed up with ADT after being told by their sales team it would cost in total £350, and afterwards can cancel . After speaking to Adt they have informed me it would cost £900! And can't cancel for 36 months. I feel like I have been conned by ADT. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!
Terrible customer service and company overall
ADT requires a three year contract and if you attempt to cancel your contract early, you will be charged a hefty fee. Customer service is the worse I had to ever deal with. When you're three years is up, you also need to provide a 30 day notice which will incur additional fees on top of that months free. Please do not sign up for service or expect to be stuck for three years and pay a hefty fee!

Called adt for quote. Went for sales pitch. They had $99 promo but my credit wasn’t good enough so I had to pay $199 plus tax. I honestly told lady I can’t afford $200 because I only had $220 in bank until payday, 12 days away. She assured me that a $100 gift wo u I’d be mailed in 3-4 days. I paid $212 after tax. This system was for my daughter who had a recent breakup and was alone at home and scared about being there. So, I trusted and spent which began what I thought was the worst company to customer experience I’ve ever had but after reading reviews I’m one of many unfortunate souls having made the mistake of dealing with adt. Lies from the beginning. Contract in my daughters name (not correct name) forged by installer because she never signed it and when I did and saw her partial first name was told that it was just property owner not account holder. I insisted that account be in my name not hers. So I tap tap tapped the tablet, all was done. Truth is, they put contract in her name because she owns the home. Installer forged her name to trick me, who had the bank account so if I didn’t pay home owner was responsible. On contract her name is listed as being holder of my debit card. I’m not listed name wise at all except for my email and card number. When I called $100 gift card went from 3-4 days to two weeks 6-8 weeks plus, email to start that process had not arrived yet. Supposed to be 7 days been 2 weeks. Call center some rude some not are the most untrained, uninformed, knowledge lacking people I’ve ever dealt with. Literally a different answer to every question, every time you call. This subsidiary is called previously defender. ADT has bought another bunch of misfits! U.S. mail along with utility companies and cable companies began years ago hiring lackey’s so not to have to pay insurance, retirements, etc. and they are all shadows of their former selves. Adt is no different. They will not bend on contracts even though they are forged, wrong or otherwise. Lies are acceptable and most likely encouraged. My daughter most likely has a bogus system in her house. When my money is right I’m going to have a real company come in and I’ll simply pay the $27 per month. It truly is like a 36 month prison sentence that I would tell the go ———— themselves but it’s my daughter home or credit they’d attack. I’m stuck! Please, please do NOT hire adt or anyone who is associated with them. Also, their answers to complaints in reviews plays like a broken record! I hope to see how close to Lazarus they are standing awaiting their drop of water in hell, even if I end up next to them!

Lots of lies and misleading info from sales
Your sales employee's really need to do a better job at explaining your products, what comes with each level and the up front costs. We called to learn about ADT and were told that we would get all sorts of stuff for “free” and “no up front costs”, so we requested a tech to come at 6 pm. We got a call at 3 pm that the tech was at our house but we weren’t; well no because we told you to have the tech come at 6 pm. So when the tech came for a 2nd time today (poor guy!) he had to be the bearer of bad news and really explain the full cost of ADT and how what we were told over the phone was not correct. I feel terrible for your technicians especially if your phone sales people continue to lie to get sales and all the 100.00 gift certificates in the world would never get me to do business (let alone sign a 36 month contract) with a company that lies the way ADT does. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I am so dissapointed i called Adt for home security alarm the advister who came to quote after viewing property offered expensive contract and even not being so satisfied i was convinced to sign contract that if i change my mind i can cancel contract in 14 days with full refund of deposit of 99.00 pounds.i called next day to cancel contract as it was so expensive for me without any equipment being installed or even arranging any installment dates.adviser at customer service said they will return 99 pounds in 7 days.since then i have made several calls asking for refund also being 8 days no refund has been made .I am so dissapointed and frustrated at thus well known security company who are not helping and not giving refund.I Would advice eveyone to think before calling them for quote will be forced to sign contract and no refund will be given.......
Main ADT Competes with its Partner Companies/Dealers
Let me start by saying I still use ADT at my business (7 year customer). Never had a problem with the service. However... I wanted to get ADT in a second location. Called main ADT. Was told I needed to run a credit check to get estimated cost, weird, but ok. Got a quote, which seemed kinda high. I gave my credit card number to "save" my quote but wanted to do some comparison shopping. So I called Protect Your Home (An ADT subsidiary/premium dealer). Excellent service, great price at almost half the cost I was just quoted.
I set up appointment for next day for 8am-9am. 9:30am rolls around so I call to see where the installer is... Now the fun begins.
Red Flag Number 1: I was told appointment was cancelled. Interesting cause no one bothered to tell me since I stayed home from work.
Red Flag Number 2: The reason, ADT corporate blocked the install since I had a quote with them. Even Protect Your Home said this was weird, but apparently you are not allowed to compete with Big Brother. No one at ADT told me that having a quote was essentially locking me in. Silly policy, considering ADT still ends up winning in the end as I was ready to sign up.
Bottom line. Going with Vivint for home. If that works out for me, great. Might even considering switching over my business to them. Now instead of ADT having 2 accounts with me, they get ZERO. Good job ADT. No wonder all these new companies are gaining more of your market share everyday.
RUN FOR THE HILLS FROM ADT!
I had been an ADT customer for eight years with no issues. My bill was always paid on time and I never had any reason to need the service or to call the service station. However, I made the GRAVE MISTAKE of updating my system last summer. What a nightmare. The ADT video doorbell did not work from the onset and attempting to get the problem corrected has been nothing but aggravation and time. I have spent countless hours waiting for technicians who either can't fix the problem or don't show up. I have spent more countless hours on the phone with agents who give me misinformation and are rude, at best. It is now February and I do not have a working doorbell nor do I have a resolved canceled account. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get involved with ADT. You will regret it.

GO TO BEST BUY AND GET YOURSELF A WIRED CAMERA SET UP FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST. PLUS THE WIRED SYSTEM CAN NOT BE SCRAMBLED, HACKED OR BLOCKED.
