I had ADT put in my house about six months ago the person who installed it installed it incorrectly the sensors were on the wrong side of the door I had to repaint the door and put a claim in to ADT subcontractor a.k.a. dealer.
I had a problem with one of my devices so ADT came out to my house for a second to fix the problem the representative signs the tablet for me and bills me $165
You have to love them, I will be leaving them after three years because I’m stuck.
Shop around for other services I will not use them anymore the product is OK but their service is horrible

I've been at ADT customers for many years. I have a lot of problems. When I start receiving cameras inside my house. Now ADT trying to make me pay $695. Four wires protection wish I had then they try to say they came out here a couple of times which it was their fault. ADT do not stand behind their customers. The liars I will be looking for another companies. To go to is it have no stars of zero Stars? I will give ADT. I should just all people that looking for ATT for a company security do not do it for your business and do not do it for your home. They do not stand Body Company. Thank you.

We have had adt in our house for over 10 years.
I foolishly had the idea that we should upgrade to a modern system. And because we were already with adt we went with them.
What a massive mistake. Before with the old technology we had no technical problems so we never really dealt with adt really just when we set the alarm off but now it's every month.
The new system is like its out of a kinda egg or Christmas cracker, and the app you have to use is even simpler. In your house every sensor smoke, movement everything is run on batteries and stuck on with chewing gum I think. Every single time you set the alarm off by mistake you have to wait hours for a phone call to type numbers into your key pad. If your batteries get low the system beeps for hours until you get a phone call to reset it. We set the alarm of by accident once and nobody even rang us and we are on supposidly a police response system.
DO NOT INSTALL ADT Alarms they are a waste of money. Buy a dog. As soon as I can get rid of this system it's getting thrown in the bin where it belongs.
This is nothing to do with the engineers though luckily I saved our engineers number and Graham is fantastic he sorted my problem last night in 2 mins and came round the next day to fix it properly. The call centre is a joke if you are force to deal with them you need a day off work shocking service.

Adt had a contract with one of my tenants who did not pay them and moved now ADT has put the contract in my business name and tells me I owe them for all the installation and monthly service that was not paid for furthermore they will not uninstall system until payment is made. On top of that the reason my last tenant did not pay is because the system never worked and they kept trying to scam him out of more money.These people are no good and a bunch of con artist.

Not very supportive of military families!! So i got ADT because my husband is military and while he was in the field for a month my car kept getting broken into.. everything was fine at first but after like a week or 2 in my system started showing weird symbols all on the keypad.. they came and fixed it and it lasted like another week before it went right back to showing random symbols.. it would randomly go back normal one day and then be all weird the next.. we dealt with that for over a year.. well in October my husband got deployed and i called and canceled and sent in the necessary documents to show he was being deployed and they “canceled” my account.. well now for every single month since October they have taken the bill out and I’ve had to call and sit on hold for forever, and get them to refund the money, and resend all the documents from my husbands deployment, and they always say they’ve taken care of it the account is canceled i won’t have to worry about it again.. until the next month rolls around and the same thing happens again.. well in January when it happened the lady removed my bank info so they couldn’t take the payment.. so what do you know they’ve been blowing my phone up every day calling me and i finally answered (i didn’t know who it was, figured a telemarketer) and they tell me i got a balance on my account for $84... i said WHOO??? Needless to say after the same convo I’ve had for the past 4 months they promised it was taken care of.. the request for the refund from January has been “pending” this whole time.. and they went ahead and fixed that as well.. I had them delete my number but who knows they’ll probably be emailing me next month.. just don’t bother with them! After everything else I’m worrying with as far as my husband being deployed, the last thing i want is ADT harassing me.

Update on reviews calling out fraudulent salesmen: In brief, you will see my previous reviews outlining that a salesman lied about the equipment I would receive upon signing up to a monthly contract. (If you look at other negative reviews, you will see others have had similar issues so it’s obviously something ADT are aware of but haven’t stopped.) The issue only got take seriously once I wrote to the Director’s office, and eventually got my contract cancelled. Still waiting for compensation for the hours I spent on the phone to customer service though!

I would give the zero starts if I could.... they do not follow protocol when my alarm goes off. They are supposed to let the phone ring 6 times, leave a message, and then call the backup emergency phone number. None of this was done. Instead they wasted tax payer money by having the police go to my house for a false alarm. Then I try to cancel because I don’t trust they can monitor my home appropriately and they want to charge me the balance. Hence.... going to the courthouse to file small claims lawsuit. Everyone else should as well. These big companies think they can just walk all over people, because no one will do anything. I’m over it!
Andrew..... you’re completely missing the point.... theres absolutely NO way I trust ADT to monitor my house. You have protocols to follow in order to adhere to your “contract” and you did not. So why so Should I be on the hook for your lack of service.
ADT will be receiving a small claim notification in the next few days. You had the opportunity to do the right thing and you did not. This has caused me severe distress and anxiety not knowing if you were accurately monitoring my home, and the lawsuit will indicate as such. ADT thinks it’s ok to do what ever you want and lull people into a false sense of security when your own people don’t know the basics of home monitoring, you think it’s good business practice to make them pay for a service you are not appropriately providing. Insane!!!

I've had an alarm system for several years with this company and it is not fit for purpose. They have changed the control board 3 times and the system has gone on the blink again. When I asked for a system that works, they said they would charge over a thousand quid to upgrade!

I have been waiting for 3 weeks now for an installation date for an upgrade. I have called but the CSR cannot review or view the installation date scheduled. Recieved a call from ADT and they left a message to call back for the installation date. I called them and the CSR could only take note of my phone call as he had to contact the branch to inquire about the installation date. He said they would call me later......I guess TELUS have not the proper software to manage the installations and is still working in the past technology???

I am giving ADT a one star rating because it isn’t possible to leave a no star rating. We called ADT one night in July to get information on the company and what they had to offer. The very next day, we had a technician (who wore an ADT shirt and carried ADT paperwork) come into our home and install equipment all labeled with the ADT logo. After a few months of having the system, we had countless issues. After so many problems we decided we no longer wanted the system and wanted to have it removed. At this point, an ADT agent told me we were still in our 90 day trial period and could have the system removed and receive a refund. She told me to call the service technicians to set up an appointment to have the system removed. I call the number she provided and learned I was dealing with a company by the name of “Defenders”. A Defenders agent then tells me I cannot have the system removed for a full refund because I am in a three year contract with them. This contract was news to myself and my husband. With this information, I call ADT customer service again (let me add that every call made to ADT includes a full story told from me and multiple “let me transfer you to this person” where I tell the story over and over). The agent I spoke to at this point sends me through multiple people where I finally reach someone who is sending my complaint to higher people in the company to have it taken care of and to figure out the best way to help me. At this point, I am waiting to receive any kind of information. I receive one email a few weeks later from an ADT agent stating she had been trying to reach me. I respond to the email stating I had no received any calls, asked what number she was calling, and told her to be sure she is leaving voicemails when she calls because there are times that we may not receive a call, but the voicemail still comes through. I heard nothing back after that email. All of this occurred in October 2019. Fast forward to the final days of January 2020.. I had to reach out to ADT to find out the current situation. ADT states they have attempted to reach out to me. I explain the emails. They tell me they see that. I am then transferred to someone with Defenders. After telling this entire story for the second time today, I am put on the line with an Account Services agent with Defenders. I am informed that the process could have been handled had I spoken to someone in her department to begin with. So at this point in the situation, I have been told by ADT I had a 90 day trial period with ADT, find out I am actually dealing with another company called Defenders, am told I am in a three year contract with Defenders AFTER just being told I could be released by ADT, ADT tells me they are going to help me get out of it, and finally after multiple calls in January... Defenders tell me I am no longer on an account with them (where did that mysterious contract go?) and I will not be receiving any kind of refund. The refund must have been with ADT. I then call ADT again to discuss the current situation with Defenders. I am told by an ADT agent that I should have known I was dealing with an authorized dealer, not actually ADT for the first 90 days, and that ADT doesn’t offer a 90 trial period or any kind of refund in any way.
WITH ALL OF THIS, I have been under the impression that I was dealing with ADT because I paid my bills to ADT, had ADT labeled equipment/technician/signs in my yard/paperwork, called ADT with issues, and was told to contact the “service department” for those issues, but was actually calling Defenders the entire time to schedule these service calls. All the while being told by ADT they would take care of my issues, offered this trial period and money back guarantee, all to find out in the end that I should have known I was dealing with an authorized dealer and they do not offer what was offered in the beginning.
DO NOT TRUST ADT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. IT IS FULL OF HIDDEN SCHEMES.

2 months and MISERABLE!
I have only had ADT for 2 months. Had nothing but issues. The system has been serviced by trouble shooting 4x. I get harrassing calls stating I am delenquiet though it's on auto debit. I want to terminate my security and get my money back. This company is just out for your money and has absolutely no type of customer service. Just pay them so you have to fix their mistakes and get harrassing calls. I will not be renewing my security system.

I’m very disappointed with adt security I have tryed sence December 2019 to add on to my security system on 12-30-2019 Adt call and said I had to pay full amount after being told I had been approved for a payment plan tec come out 12-31-2019 to add onto my system the man was very rude and disrespected to me in my home and argued with me and argued to me I didn’t have a payment plan set up 30 mins before tec showed up I verified the payment plan was in place Adt said yes and tec argue it wasn’t and continued to argue so sent him on his way talk to Adt customer service the issue was supposed to have been resolved then once again had a appointment again called 1-23-2020 and told me once again had to pay full amount again so my words to people thinking about using Adt security should think about it all I have been is lied to a company that lies to there customers after the customer has always payed there bill on time sence having service what else do you think Adt would lie about

Paying my bill on line this app. Doxo? Must be payment site to pay your bill. My bill was $64.14 but by the time this no count service. Charged me $2.99 just to send them the payment. I don’t like being fleeced by this no count company. ADT should have a way to pay the bill instead of this doxo? If I can’t find another way to pay my bill I’m considering removal of ADT and find another service that doesn’t steal money for just paying their bills.

Waste of money. I was burgled and they didn’t show up despite paying thousands in monitoring costs. Trying to return the system and they won’t take it back.
Don't trust these people inside your home
When the installer put up the control box he used screws the length for drywall on my not drywalled mobile home. The long screws pierced a wire and took out 3 wall sockets and darkened my porch lights. They refused to be financially responsible for this damage.

Safestreets is not a trustworthy company at all. I was told I would have a system installed at no charge other than the monthly fee. When I originally signed up with ADT I was told I would need one motion sensor to cover my main floor since it was a two story home. I would also receive the four main door sensors which would cover me as the top floor windows are not accessible. When the SafeStreets tech was installing he then informed me the motion sensor would not work with my dogs ( 8 pound and 18 pound dog), even though I was told anything under 40 pounds will be fine. Told him the rep said it would work, he said, "nope, not a chance. But don't worry there is no charge since you are not doing the motion anymore." Sounds good I said. He then talked me into the heat detector as we have dogs and the equipment is free since we can do just one. At the end he showed me the cost of the items and said again, the great thing is there is no charge. Showed me the reciept showing the zero balance due. Well, they charged my card a few days later, just outside the cancellation period, how convenient. Now they wont do anything other than remove the equipment. I called ADT and they will not do anything as the contract is with Safestreets, yet they set it all up. Just another example of large companies screwing customers over and not caring. DO NOT go with ADT or safestreets.

DO NOT FALL FOR A COLD CALL FROM ADT HOME SECURITY. They called and when I told them I had a Vivint smart home the guy promised me the moon. They set me up with an appt and the tech came. After 2 hours and a total invasion of our home the guy informed me of a bunch of hidden costs, fees and the monitoring was going to be 3 times what the salesman told me. Vivint is by far the most upstanding company between the two.

The installation agent was amazing. The rest of the experience is the worst I've ever had with a company. First, the equipment is extremely overpriced. ADT charged over $1,900 for a package you can get for $375-$400 at Lowes or another Do-It-Yourself brand. Second, while my install individual was amazing she took 6 hours to quote and only install a portion of the equipment. After finding out my area at my lake house isn't eligible for internet I called customer service to try and see what I could do. After being transferred 6 times and put on hold for an hour I escalated my issue. Eventually I was transferred to the Cancellation Dept. where they told me I'd need to pay a $1,900 cancellation fee. I've had the service for 7 days total.

I have been dealing with ADT since tuesday. I was told they would call me back. I waited no call back. Called them again. Was told a manager would give me call. I waited all day Wednesday no call back. I called Thursday unable to send a tech out for over a week to upgrade my system. I have been given the run around since Tuesday. Finally I had enough I told them if I cant get a tech out here by the end of the day friday or Saturday. Then I want to cancel my service. ADT was not able to accommodate me. I was on the phone most of the week dealing with them for a total of 5 hours all together. Poor poor poor business. I finally cancelled my service. Oh by the way XFINITY is coming out with a tech to install my service by end of day friday.

Paid to get out of my contract. Was told by 3 different people that I was paid in full and no more money would come out of my account. 30 days later money was taken out of my account. Called and spoke with Sue employee number 51461. She told me the funds were taken out in error and a refund would be processed in 7-14 days.
14 days later no money has been refunded. Called today and was told that no refund has been requested and that I am not due a refund. Each person lies and will not own up to the fact that they owe the money.
UPDATE - after my review was posted, Andrew from ADT reached out. He processed the refund I was owed and those funds as of today are back in my account. Thank you Andrew for resolving this for me.
