Lousy Service for a premium Price
I had to switch out my router. I was able to get the ADT system hub connected to the new router and WiFi name. I have not been able to get the cameras to work. I called ADT Support and was switched over to technical support. What a joke. ADT's only concern is to appease the customer so that they won't discontinue the service. The initial TS contact rolled me to 3 different people and no one helped me and I was told to make a Virtual appointment which I did. The appointment was for 10:30 am and after a 30 min wait I called the TS line and was told that the Virtual Support person called and got no answer. I had my phone with me the entire time and it never rang. But since the initial call was not answered they moved on so when I called back I was told that I had to get another virtual appointment and use a different contact number. This situation has played out with ADT twice before until I scheduled an in-home appointment for which I was charged. What a rip off!!!!!! A lot of frustration and what I get from ADT is "I understand your frustration and I am here to help. My response is "NO YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. If you did you would get someone to work with me to get my cameras working after being down for 4 days. I will be researching another vendor for my security service.

ADT Customer Service and Policy
ADT customer service and policies are horrible. I have been a customer forever. I have an ADT doorbell that has never worked probably. I have to call in Dr per week to get them to reboot the system. Within two days, the chime does not work and I do not get alerts on my phone of activity any longer. Reconsider your choice of video doorbell. I may have to reconsider my security services as well if when I change the doorbell. Any suggestions on great CS and product warranty is appreciated. Update: I received an email saying I would get a call within two hours. No call. Then received an email where they scheduled a virtual appointment, without confirmation with me. I am not available during work hours. Had to reschedule this virtual visit to the weekend. I cannot take the doorbell off, so the virtual appointment is useless, but I will comply. Ultimately, the cost will be my burden for a doorbell that has never worked properly since installation. Looking for other Security options. Any suggestions as to a great company that offers great customer service and stands behind their products is greatly appreciated.

Extremely bad customer service
Extremely bad customer service. Worst ever, on multiple occasions. I have been struggling for a month to simply move my ADT subscription from one address to another. Waiting time on the line is over 30 minutes and when I wait until I talk to a representative, they hang up the line before solving the problem without a call back. If I try to chat, they take too long to respond, and they end the conversation without solving the problem. To note, the problem was started with ADT, as they sent us an authorized supplier who mislead us and gave false information which lead to this situation.

I normally don't write reviews but I recently had to change my password for my internet. I went to the panel and changed the password and then my camera stopped working which is a hardwired camera. I have not slept in two days because my camera is not working. I have been on hold for a very long time and the few people I did get where very nasty and told me they are short staffed and I had to wait my turn. I am very concerned about my safety and will switch to another service if I can't get someone to come out and help me.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!
Absolutely HORRIBLE!! 1. More expensive and LESS reliable than Ring (which you can easily install yourself). 2. When their equipment breaks or fails—the customer pays to replace it. 3. If your system can’t be monitored because your equipment isn’t working properly, you still have to pay FULL PRICE for monitoring. Full price is $73 a month compared to Ring at $20. 4. They are also moving to a technology that all customers will need to upgrade to because they will no longer support their own equipment. 5. Make sure you research about how they lock people into three contracts— what are they provide a working service or not. It is a dishonest company with absolutely NO understanding of customer loyalty. No matter what you do, stay away from ADT… It’s not worth it now, or in the long run —which I found out the hard way, when they told me that I had a verbal three-year contract. When I called, the customer service representative told me that because I had to filled one year of the contract, I would be able to cancel their services, without a fee. Later on, they sent me a bill for almost $1100… I guess, verbal contracts only go one way… I was a customer for almost 11 years. It is a horrible company with horrible customer service. Stay away from them.!!

On hold 30 minutes Every Time.
Awful. Spent 30 minutes on hold listening to How Important my call is. How about hiring enough staff? ADT told me the problem with my video doorbell was electrical. Aftter I spent $165 on an electrician , I know that is not true. Now I’m on hold-hell calling back. I dread interacting with ADT. The service is awful in terms of speaking to anyone.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON"T SIGN UP WITH ADT
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! It has been a non stop nightmare and they will not allow you out of your contract and are charging $8000+ for the so called "installment fee" that we pay for 5 years even though their installation was faulty and my equipment has been glitching since initial install. EIGHT tech appts for different things and they still won't let me out of it. I am hiring an attorney and hoping to take this to the Attorney General. Worse company I've every dealt with.

Garbage waste of money
Garbage waste of money . Had a alarm go off they had no sence of urgency to resolve the situation from using a 3rd party monitor system . Have an attorney building a case as we speak . I will get my money back and some . ADT IS HORRIBLE ALL THE WAY AROUND BAD SERVICE.

Absolutely Despicable Treatment!
Absolutely Despicable Treatment! I booked an engineer to power down my system as I no longer wanted my alarm system with ADT. You have no option but to pay them for an engineer to come out power down the system whether you want to completely stop using the system or if you choose to have it unmonitored. I took the day off and waited in (because it’s an all day appointment. At around 2.30pm I called to see if they could narrow down the time. I was told the engineer could arrive any time up to 5pm and would call before arriving at my home. At 4.52pm I received a voicemail telling me my appointment had been rescheduled for the following day. I called back, explain the following day was not suitable as I had already taken a day off and called earlier that afternoon and was told the engineer was still coming. I was told I would be called by the planning department. Of course there was no call. I called again the following day and told they would call. Again nothing. I called again the following day, again nothing. It’s now 4 days and still no call. I refuse to call them again. Let’s see how long it actually takes. THIS IS APPALLING SERVICE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM.

Terrible / Embarrassing company
Terrible company. I don’t know how they’re running. Poor customer service / terrible products / poor sales negations. They really know how to mess a customer up, that’s for sure. It’s embarrassing that they’re operating from such the poor service I received.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. We reviewed our moving options with James, a service manager. We told him we started the service while pregant with our son 2 years ago, but our newborn son had passed away. He acted like he cared, told us he would "really help us". Come to find out all the info he gave us was the reason we canceled our service and all of his info was inaccurate, which he admitted while I was on the phone with an ADT representative, whom by the way took no responsibility for our charges. James said he would personally reimburse us for causing such an issue while grieving the loss of our newborn son! He took advantage of our situation, and left us with a charge of over $400. The ADT representative also took no accountability. One of our worst experiences was with ADT. James, a local service manager of the Northeast area should be fired and held accountable for the charges he tells customers he will assist with. ADT should be shut down because they also take no accountability for incorrect and misleading charges not even reason being we are the customers but because I got James on the phone with the ADT representative and he admitted to giving us ALL of the wrong info causing over $600 in charges. While grieving our newborn son and moving because of this, we were left with "nothing I can do or help you with" from ADT and "I'm so sorry I caused this, I'll pay for the charges" from James. He never helped, let alone called back. Your company is fraudulent, money hungry and cares NOTHING of the customer. To think, we gave the scam artist that sold us your service our own pizza and drinks. Your company is repulsive. The absolute worst customer service related experience my family ever went through. Congratulations.

This company is a nightmare we been…
This company is a nightmare we been with them for like 5 months and we ready had problems with the equipment more the 3 times, the customers service is horrible when you called the disconnect the call and then you have to call back and wait more the 30 min. They also wanted to charge us for a technician to come and fix the system when we bought it with them is because they suppose to give you the service if is there equipment. Like I said this company is horrible and I will give less than one star.

They just purchased Ackerman Security and it's been horrible
They just purchased Ackerman Security and now I can't even access my account. I want to cancel and when I do I go through 8 different prompts to cancel. When the first person answered the phone they transferred me. Then the second person put me on hold for 30 minutes and I had to get back to work. The email we received from them says use you the online chat box. Well when you do that it tells you to call the number where you have to wait.

RUN! RUN! ADT THIEVES! I wrote a review about ADT in May. I spoke to Mario and Josh in I thought ..ADT’s complaint department. I thought I was getting some where. I thought finally there are going to refund me my money. I wrote in May that we had ADT cameras installed during thanksgiving dinner week in November 2021 … we had problems with our cameras in Dec 2021, Jan 2022, Feb 2022 , March 2022, April 2022, May 2022… need I say it’s still not working! Now I was told that it’s pass 6 months and we are not eligible for a refund. There is more but I been on the phone today for 2 hours … all I can say is RUN! The company STOLE our money they are THIEVES! Trust me you don’t want to sign a contract with ADT! Find someone else! I have emailed Alwaysthere… really! Don’t believe these folks .. They are not to be trusted! Don’t get CAMERAS through ADT you will be so sorry!

Update on ADT,
Update on ADT, I recently wrote a review about how unethical ADT. They did reply and I sent them all the information they wanted. Just refresh your memory, I had one of their sales people here for over 10 hours and he would not leave my home. I signed four separate contracts and cancel them all and left the last one just to get him out of the house. The next day I canceled everything and they have not stop badgering me and still charging me and showing that I owe thousands of dollars. ADT replied that I can keep the equipment, but I will have to pay the balance. I don’t owe them anything. I canceled the next day and told ADT to come pick up their equipment… first please put my system back in working order that they tore apart. And paint and re-stain everywhere where they’re stupid wireless monitors are. This company is so crooked. Same old crap this is what they do.

ADT has cancelled my service twice due to their mistakes. I was told it is my fault and I have to pay the cancellation fees. I am on my fifteenth hour of being on hold and them dropping my calls. I do not understand the disgraceful service you have. I’m told someone will call me and it never happened. How can I trust your company? It has been two weeks without service and no one has picked this up to fix. Never pick ADT, never.

ADT vs Burglary either way you get robbed!
I knew from the time I heard about this merger my days would be numbered with Ackerman. Lightning strike next to my house blew out the internet and fractured 4 Windows of my home. As a result my cable company gave me a new modem and router. My security cameras can only be reset in person. Never had to pay to have them reset under Ackerman the but ADT........ADT wants me to pay $62 for something that happened that I had no control over. I will take whatever credit hit on the one-year contract I have left because under no circumstances will I remain with ADT the one burglary I've ever had in my home was when I had a ADT system they are the worst there is no one that has worst customer service across any industry then this company.

Nobody is accountable!
Feel abandoned, 22 days and no engineer has visited for a fault . The call center says they are busy , we will escalate but nothing happens ! I simply don't know what to do I've been a customer for almost 30 years paying every month year in year out , never experienced shocking service like this from any other company, am astonished as ADT are a huge worldwide organisation. They have an email which is Alwaystheir.com or something similar ! Always where I'm.wondering cause you're never here! ADT HAVE MESSAGED , I WILL UPDATE THIS ASAP , LETS HOPE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING !

ADT and Ackerman are like a crime syndicate - they are not a security company!
If I can give negative stars I will give this company a negative 10. Stay away from their predatory practice of signing up individuals to long contracts when they were purchased over by ADT Security. I sold my house and moved out. I get a new bill from ADT stating that I owe them monthly service charges now that ADT purchased Ackerman customers. I called Ackerman weeks ahead to cancel my service as I sold my house. But Ackerman never got back to me. They said their loyalty (whatever) group will get back to me to proceed with the cancellation. Not only did they not cancel my service they sold me like a cheap "w...e" to ADT. If you want your security to be taken care of by such nefarious companies as ADT or Ackerman good luck! I'd rather have two Doberman's they are loyal and not a bunch of thieves like these companies. I have contacted the state attorney general's office. If you believe you are a victim of predatory tactics like ADT and Ackerman contact your state attorney general's office. They have a consumer protection division. You can send an online request.

This is the absolute worst company for…
This is the absolute worst company for home security. We have never had reliable service with our cameras and have spent countless days on hold with customer service and/or having technicians attend at our home to swap out equipment. We tried without success to get out of our 3-year contract because we have held up our end of the contract in good faith but ADT has not. They have refused to upgrade or fix our system at their expense and wanted us to pay out the balance of the contract to be rid of them. The last customer service rep I spoke to insinuated that as part of their services work that I should be satisfied with that as them honoring their contract. I would never recommend ADT to anyone. We pay around $60 monthly for basic monitored system with 2 cameras that work intermittently. Buyer beware!

For several days I have waited numerous…
For several days I have waited numerous times calling the 800 number holding for a attendant. I also have spent untold hours trying to manipulate their website to trouble shoot some cameras. And to say I am frustrated is an understatement. I am likely to discard the equipment I have and start over with anyone that will answer my calls or send a technician when needed. Too many internet options to navigate and they keep circling back to similar or the same menus. I have had it.
